Connection & Deployment of Oracle 8.0 PO

We are testing our application which is using win95 in 2 systems. One system has PO8 and the database in the USER Tablespace. We have a VB6.0 application using ADO2.0 to connect 2 the PO from both the systems.
It will easily connect in the PO8 system. How do we connect the other system to PO8.
We are also curious 2 know the deployment process to have a similar setup in the destination machines.
Thanx in advance.

  • How to deploy the Oracle Forms and Reports 10g in Web?

Currently I am working in Oracle forms & Reports conversion project (6i to 10g).
As of now 6i forms working as a standalone application. After migrated it to 10g, I need to deploy the forms and reports in web.
Any one know how to deploy the Oracle forms and Reports in web?
Please help me out. Thanks in advance.
    Vimal

    Hello Frank,
for development, you need to install Oracle Developer
Suite 10g. This includes Forms and Reports.this topic interests me too, because I've downloaded Developer Suite and Database (both for 10g) from Oracle website, installed them, but I couldn't connect to a database.
What should be done for me to create a database link and be able to connect locally, in my personal Desktop computer? (Not to a server)
Once it was told me here that I should download 10g Database - I did it, and installed it, but it didn't work. Later, some of my job partners said I should install them in a sequence - that is, 1st the Developer, and 2nd the Database. But it has failed too. And I don't know how to configure a database connection.
    Best regards,

  • Can't connect to external Oracle DB with JDBC connector

    Hello guys,
I had failed to connect to connect external Oracle  via JDBC connector .
Could you please help me to resolve the problem ?
    Backgroud:
We need to connect the external Oracle DB with JDBC connector, because BI need to connect to the target Oracle. If the JDBC connector suceed, BI will create a UD which use the datasource
we create in Visual admin to connect to the external Oracle DB.
    Environment:
Our EP version is NW04S SP17 , OS is AIX .
The target Oracle DB version is 10g(10.1.0.2.0, 64bi).
    Configuration procedure :
    1. Import Oracle driver "ojdbc14.jar" and create new driver which named "Oracle "  under
JDBC Connector ->Run time ->Driver  in Visual Admin.
    2. Create datasource "Mydatasource" under JDBC Connector ->Run time ->Data Source,
    Name : Mydatasource
    Driver Name : Oracle
    JDBC version: 2.0(with XA support)
    JDBC compliant:
    Object Factory :oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory
    DataSource Type: ConnectionPoolDataSource
    *CPDS class name :oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionPoolDataSource

All fo my configuration had been listed.
And I had created JCO RFC : JT-BIDEV_PORTAL_BD1 , and created RFC connection with SM59 in BI.
    Please give me some suggesiton.

but it is failing to create a connection to the cloud server and throwing the error message
    Testing Cloud-Admin                    ... failed.
    listApplications failed.
    Check username, password, domain, instance.
Check cloud sdk location & version: Tools->Preferences->Oracle Cloud
    0 of 1 tests successful.
    MyService details are as follows
    JDEV : Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0CLOUD_GENERIC_121118.1600.6229
    Cloud version: 13.2.2.0.0
I am pretty sure , i am using proper credentials since am able to java cloud service console with same credentials.
Please help me out on this.
    Thanks

    Hi Thanks for the reply
I check check-box of proxy settings and restarted the jdeveloper and tried again but still it throws the same error? one doubt here...what all we need to include / exclude in our proxy settings...
and the I tried providing service name as both java and javatrial8477 but no luck i followed the same steps which are mentioned in the below document
Part 2: Deploying ADF Applications to Oracle Java Cloud
Do i need to do any other configuration? Or i can directly deploy my ear file to java service console rt instead of creating connection tot the server from IDE.

  • WS Deployed on Oracle App. Server, Response issue for some requests

I have a WebService deployed on Oracle Application Server and it's an HTTPS connection. I am facing a small issue and can't figure out
what's going on. For each request there's a response to let know the requester that data is processed successfully or any error. The caller of the Web Service makes a call and sends in an xml data. It's processed on my end and then a return type is an Element that holds the response data. Once in a while the caller does not get a response back even though on my end I don't see any errors and the data is processed successfully.
Here is the signature of the function:
public Element parseData(Element data) throws RemoteException; And I can't figure out why a caller does not receive a response back for some of the requests. Any ideas what might be wrong or how to debug this issue. Is there any place I can look to see for each request is a response going back. I don't know if it's related Network or App. Server and where to start to debug this.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi there.
If the consumer of your service is a .NET client, it will silently ignore any response that is not formated as advertize in the WSDL and will return an empty object to the caller. As you are trying to use raw XML Element, it seams to be a potential explaination.
If you can turn off SSL in your test environment, you may want to run a TCP sniffer tool, on the host where your server is running. You can setup a filter on the IP @ of the consumer or the TCP port of the service comsumed. I'll recommend you look at ethereal as it's a cross platform utility.
    Hope it helps.

  • Deployment of oracle client application

    Hello,
I want to know if i can get connected to the Oracle Database Server 10g from my client system without installing any Oracle Client Software.
i have developed an oracle application using oracle client 10g in C#. i have to deploy this project in the client pc. it asks for a oracle client software.
is it must and should that the oracle client software be installed in the client pc. or any other measures to deploy the application without installing oracle client in the client pc.
    thanks
    ajith.

I want to know if i can get connected to the Oracle Database Server 10g from my client system without installing any Oracle Client Software.Yes you can connect without installing the client software in oracle 10g, the new tool is rather a folder and some settings called instantclient. See the link [http://www.databasejournal.com/features/oracle/article.php/3371561/Instant-Client-in-Oracle-10g.htm].
i have developed an oracle application using oracle client 10g in C#. i have to deploy this project in the client pc. it asks for a oracle client software.
is it must and should that the oracle client software be installed in the client pc. or any other measures to deploy the application without installing oracle client in the client pc.Depending of the binaries or jar files which you may be using in C#. If it is present in instant client then of course you can connect otherwise you have to install it. Connectivity with oracle database needs some net configuration, when you install oracle client the sql net is being installed. When you install java a java net is installed and using JDBC driver you can connect to the database. That is basic idea behind oracle connectivity.
    Regards.

    1. in physical connections part can i use the same work schema
    2. Can i use same contexts created or do i need to create everything as new and then try?
    Thanks,
    Rp.
    Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname, sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it)

  • Connecting to an Oracle database after clicking on a foi

Does anyone know how or have any examples on how to connect to an oracle database after clicking on a 'feature of interest' in MapViewer? I want to be able to click on a 'feature of interest' on the map, and have a list of records from an oracle table displayed using the identified key of the foi. I am able to create the feature of interest, and add the event listener for 'mouse click', but am unsure how to connect to the database at this point. I have been able to connect to the database in a different jsp, but not from here. Thank you.

    1. Create a JSP page that does the database query. It should take the foi id as an input parameter.
    2. In the foi mouse click listener, display the JSP page in iframe. The iframe can be placed outside the map or inside the info window. The function should do something like this.
    function myClickListener(point, foi)
    mapview.displayInfoWindow(point, "<iframe id='my_iframe_id' frameborder=0 width=300px height=400px />", 300, 400) ;
    var myIframe = document.getElementById("my_iframe_id") ;
    myIframe.src = "http://myhost/myjsp?key=" + foi.id ;
    }

I had tried using -Xms / -Xmx options (upto 1 GB).
The trace of exception gets delayed (from being displayed on the console) as the memory size is increased; but after sometime it starts getting displayed on the console.
Even though this exception is displayed on the console, the Timer Bean continues to execute upto sometime before it finally crashes!
If anyone has encountered such problem; would appreciate if you could share the solution.
    Regards, Vidyadhar

Hi guys, I have the same problem. I have an application EAR file with two modules (EJB and WAR starting in this order). The application can schedule a process via EJB timer. In this case restarting the server I receive the error above. If I change the modules start order --> WAR - EJB the server start correctly, but the application scheduler fails (the persistency is not working) with this error:

  • Fails to connect to the Oracle yum public server

    Hello,
I would like to connect to the Oracle public yum server so I can install packages from the Oracle Linux via a yum client for my RHEL 5.4
I am trying to download and copy the appropriate yum configuration file in place, by running the following commands as root:
    Oracle Linux 5
    # cd /etc/yum.repos.d
    # wget http://public-yum.oracle.com/public-yum-el5.repo
    --2011-10-29 15:53:41-- http://public-yum.oracle.com/public-yum-el5.repo
    Resolving public-yum.oracle.com... 141.146.44.34
Connecting to public-yum.oracle.com|141.146.44.34|:80... failed: Connection timed out.
    Retrying.
It disabled the Linux firewall by /etc/init.d/iptables stop but it still doesn't help.
    Thank you.

Connecting to public-yum.oracle.com|141.146.44.34|:80... failed: Connection timed out. This has nothing to do with the firewall (which only blocking incoming traffic, not outgoing traffic by default) and all to do with your routing. You have DNS properly configured, but you need to double-check your default gateway and other settings to make sure you can connect to a server on the internet directly. If you need to use a proxy server to make connections, you will have to configure that as well.

  • Problem in connecting netbeans with oracle 10g express edition

hi friends... i need help in connecting the database with netbeans..... in netbeans, under services option... i have a option for database... but am not getting any drop-down while right clicking to add a new database... i tried in both netbeans6.9 and netbeans7... what should i do to connect netbeans7 to oracle 1og express edition.... pls help me friends.... pls do reply

First of all, I think your dot... button is broken, it keeps repeating which makes it SO much harder to read your post.
Secondly, I suggest you take your question to the Netbeans mailing lists. This is a Java programming forum, not a technical support forum for the hundreds of tools available to support Java programming.

  • Connection problem to Oracle 11.1.0 on Windows Professional XP (SP2)

    Hello
I've recently performed default installations for 3 Oracle Databases, into seperate homes on a newly formatted Windows
Professional XP (SP2) standalone laptop. For all databases Oracle 10.2.0 (rover), Oracle XE (xe) and Oracle 11.1.0 (fido) I
installed APEX and they worked perfectly.
I then installed my Wireless O2 Broadband for my internet which uses DHCP
I am unable to connect to my databases with the wireless broadband connected. I then bring down all databases and turn
off/disable the Broadband, then restart all databases.
    Using commands
    Set ORACLE_SID=ROVER
    sqlplus system/rover@rover
    Set ORACLE_SID=XE
    sqlplus system/xe@xe
    Set ORACLE_SID=FIDO
    sqlplus system/fido@fido
Connections are successfull apart from the Oracle 11.1.0 (fido) database with error
    ERROR:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor
Can anybody identify my connection problem to Oracle 11.1.0 (fido) database by reviewing my listener.ora, tnsnames.ora and
    other configuration files below.
    Many thanks in advance
    Regards

For static registration you need to update the 3 listener.ora files.
    Exemple:
    SID_LIST_LISTENER_FIDO =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC
          (ORACLE_HOME = <Oracle Home path>)
          (SID_NAME=FIDO)
    )
