Connection domain-account:

Hello!
My father bought me Iphone 5s today, and this is my first iphone, so everything is different.
I'm trying to make my self an icloud account, but it won't work because I can't connect my domain-account properly.
When I'm trying to connect my domain account it says that I have to choose between imap and pop, and then write host name, user name, password on the incoming mail server and then host name on the outgoing mail server? I don't know what to write on host name and user name? How can I find out what my host names are?
Thank you.

    First. I'll make another post about this but worth mentioning - the dialogue when opening Cortana then having to connect with a MS account is barely usable. The "Next" button is completely black so had to guess that was where to click. When I select
    any other window or click outside the dialogue disappears until I hit the Start button, Windows Key or the Cortana/Search button. Makes it near impossible to say copy what is written there when something goes wrong...
    Not that MS will care or do anything right?
    Anyway. Domain account, no restrictions that I know of from that side (my home/test domain). Attempt to connect MS account and get below literally not even a second later, it's basically an instant failure with the message:

  • Can't connect windows server 2003 with domain account

    I have installed an agent on windows 2003 server successfully but I cannot add domain account as a preferred credential to connect to windows. My OMS is 11g running on RHEL 5 and I am trying to deploy sql server plugin to windows 2003 server. I could deploy the plugin with the same domain account to windows 2008 without any error but for some reason, but I cannot use the same domain account on windows 2003. This domain account is part of administrator group on both 2003 & 2008 servers so I don't know what I need to do different for 2003. Please help me. Thank you.

    Can you provide some more details and/or screenshots?
    I'm not sure exactly what you mean here: "I cannot add domain account as a preferred credential to connect to windows"
    Are you in the Agent preferred credentials page? What is the error?

  • Connect Microsoft Account to Multiple Domain Accounts

    We are currently trialing windows 8.1 tablets in a school environment and would like for the students to have access to the 'Windows Store'
    All students log in with a domain account. (Their own domain account)
    All of these tablets are being imaged Via SCCM 2012 Task Sequence.
    What I would like to see happen either during the SCCM TS or via GPO or some other method would be to have the same Microsoft account connected to anyone logging into these devices this way the student would never require the account credentials
    and they would never be prompted to log into the store as well as be able to openly download and install free apps... I'll tackle the paid app issue separately...
    I would enable the GPO:
    computer configuration\windows settings\security settings\local policies\security options\'accounts: block Microsoft account'
    so that they couldn't link any additional personal Microsoft accounts.

    last challenge is to set it so they don't have to enter a password. where is the password stored?????

  • Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)

    Team,
    I got an error while creating a User for Domain Account. Below is the screen shot of the error (error : 15401)
    Database instance is on SQL 2000 SP3. ( I know it is out of support, But the customer is relutanct to upgrade)
    On Google search, i found below article which is best matching for this error
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324321
    I have follows each step of troubleshooting. But still the issue persists.
    Step 1. The login does not exist == The login is very much exist in the domain as i am able to add the same domain id to other database instances
    Step 2. Duplicate security identifiers == i have used this query to find duplicate SID
    /*  SELECT name FROM syslogins WHERE sid = SUSER_SID ('YourDomain\YourLogin') */
    But there was only one row returned with create date of today's.
    Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)
    Step 3. Authentication failure == Domain is available. User is able to login on other servers via RDP connection.
    Step 4. Case sensitivity == Database collation is set to Case insensitivity. (CI)
    Other two 5. Local Accounts & 6. Name resolution == is not applicable to me.
    I tried other ways also.
    A. Creating login and providing permission in one go only = User account is not created
    B. Instead of GUI, use query to create login and provide required permission = Same error.

  • Provision Search in SharePoint Foundation 2013 without Domain Controller / Active Directory - Domain accounts

    Hi,
    I have successfully setup SharePoint Foundation 2013 as single server farm with SQL Server Standard database in a DMZ environment using local accounts since DMZ doesn't have an Active Directory and hence Domain accounts using powershell as described
    in https://theblobfarm.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/installing-sharepoint-2013-without-a-domain-controller
    When I run Farm configuration wizard to provision search service application, I get an error:
    ERROR: "The service application(s) for the service "Search Service Application" could not be provisioned because of the following error: I/O error occurred."
    The log file logged the details of this error as:
    ERROR: "Failed to create file share Analytics_e441aa1c-1a8d-4f0a-a079-58b499eb4c50 at D:\SharePoint Search\Office Server\Analytics_e441aa1c-1a8d-4f0a-a079-58b499eb4c50 (System.ArgumentException: The SDDL string contains an invalid sid or a sid
    that cannot be translated."
    After investigation, I found that potentially the error could be because the timer service is trying to setup a network share for analytics component (as part of provisioning search). It is trying to setup that share with a domain account that happens to
    be a local user instead in this case and fails with error “System.ArgumentException: The SDDL string contains an invalid sid or a sid that cannot be translated”.
    I got some pointer from the below thread
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c8e93984-f4e5-46da-8e8a-c5c79ea1ff62/error-creating-search-service-application-on-sharepoint-foundation-with-local-account?forum=sharepointadmin
    However, the above thread doesn't state that the solution worked.
    I have tried creating share manually for Analytics_<Guid> folder but it doesn't work since every time farm configuration wizards is run it creates a new Analytics_<Guid> folder.
    Since, I have setup SharePoint Foundation 2013 on a production environment I cannot test and trial various solutions.
    Can some please guide me on how to successfully provision search for SharePoint Foundation 2013 setup as a single server farm with SQL Server Standard database in a DMZ environment using local accounts (without Active Directory - domain accounts).
    Thanks in advance.
    Himanshu

    Microsoft documentation doesn't always specifically call out all products (Project Server isn't there, either). But it does apply. You'll need to stand up at least one Domain Controller, or allow port access back to a DC.
    Preferably, set up SharePoint on the internal network and use a reverse proxy (which will terminate client connections at the reverse proxy) present in the DMZ.

  • SBS 2011 Domain Accounts Can't Login To Windows 8 PC

    One of our Windows 8.1 machines is no longer allowing domain accounts (except admin) to login to the PC.  This PC was a fresh setup and was joined to the domain in January.  When I log into the PC with the network admin and go to logs I get the
    following message related to group polocies not being able to be applied (now it won't let me connect at all).  I'll upload log files as soon as I can connect again.
    We are running an SBS 2011 server that handles all ad, dns, exchange 2010, remote web access, etc.
    Any ideas on what may be going wrong or how I should troubleshoot the issue?

  • OneDrive Sync Settings with Domain Account Roaming Profile

    This question seems to have been asked in various manners online including here at TechNet but it has never actually been answered that I can find.
    Home domain using Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, client is Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with Update 1. Logged in as a domain user account with a Roaming Profile and Folder Redirection connected to a Microsoft Account.
    Under PC Settings > OneDrive > Sync Settings, everything is greyed out and disabled. I wasn't too bothered about it previously however with Windows Phone 8.1 out now it means that I cannot use Tab Sync with Internet Explorer 11 on the phone.
    I have a GPO which excludes the following folders from the Roaming Profile to both allow Folder Redirection to function and also to allow the OneDrive app to function: "Downloads;Pictures;My Pictures;Music;My Music;Videos;My Videos;Dropbox;SkyDrive;OneDrive"
    I am using the Primary Computer attribute with a second GPO which limits profile redirection to the users primary computer.
    When logging on to my Primary Computer with the Roaming Profile activated, all of the Sync Settings are disabled but on another machine which is non-primary and therefore my roaming profile does not sync, I can connect my Microsoft Account to the local
    profile generated on this machine and all of the Sync Settings are available, clearly linked to the Roaming element of the profile.
    Is the non-functionality of Sync Settings on domain accounts with Roaming Profiles by design or by virtue of the fact that things are trying to steer away from Roaming Profiles now? I love the Sync features but in that they don't sync everything (3rd party
    Application Settings for example) there is a need for both features to exist in parallel.
    There is a new section in Group Policy to limit the use of the Sync Settings features for Enterprises which wish to prevent users from using these features so I don't understand the reason for it to not function at all for anyone.

    I want to use the lowest privileges. Do I really need the SQL server service account in local administrator group? How to fix the error?
    thanks

    Hi baschuel,
    It is recommended to run SQL Server service by using the lowest possible user rights and it is supported to use a domain account instead of an account from local Administrators group to configure SQL Server service. According to your error messages, the
    issue could be due to that the incorrect certificate is used, or the domain account has no access to the Crypto folder(C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto). To troubleshoot the issue, you could follow the two solutions below.
    1.Import the correct certificate following the steps in the article:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-hk/windows/import-export-certificates-private-keys#1TC=windows-7
    2.Grant the domain account full access to the Crypto folder.

  • Create DSN in admin tool using domain account

    Hi. We're moving away from SQL authentication and using

  • Migrate domain accounts to new Mac

    Hello,
    Does anyone know how to migrate the home folder of domain accounts to a new Mac? I have an iMac running 10.7 which is joined to Active Directory. The home folders of the domain accounts are stored on the iMac.
    I have a new iMac with Mountain Lion. Migration Assistant only sees the one local account's home folder on the old machine. How can I migrate the domain account folders to the new Mac?
    Thanks,
    Jack

    "...my question is simply one of drive compatibility. Would the new Mac Pro be able to use the HDD from the old G4?..."
    No. Not cleanly at all. The Mac Pro's use SATA drives while the G4 would have IDE drives. They are different interfaces. You could potentially get an adapter, something like this to get your connections worked out. However, this issue is still going to be where to physically put the G4's drive inside the Mac Pro. An SATA drive would fit into a bracket, and simply slide right into all the appropriate connections (Power & Data).
    But the adapter card you'd have to install to make the IDE drive work, will also prevent it from working as well. Hope that makes sense.
    An alternative may be to buy an external Firewire enclosure, ready for an IDE (or "ATA") drive and put the old G4 drive there. Simple and clean - guaranteed to work.
    An internal solution does not seem possible to me.

  • Sync settings for Domain accounts

    Hello
    We have a close & secured environment and we want to migrate to Windows 8.1.
    one of the nice benefits Windows 8.1 has is the sync settings feature. I would love it if my users inside my corp will be able to login anywhere and get their Desktop, Tiles, Settings etc. no matter where they login from.
    It is somehow overlaps with folder redirection and roaming profiles are there any new policy settings or other settings that use the same sync mechanism as the Microsoft Account+OneDrive on Windows 8.1 for domain accounts only?
    like defining a network share for those settings and force the clients to sync the
    If there isn't, obviously the OneDrive client which is a built-in feature on 8.1 is only a noise in the background
    Thanks
    Tamir Levy

    Hi,
    When you sync your settings with a connected account, the settings are stored in the cloud. So if you want to take the control of everything, Roaming profile and Folder Redirection would still be your choice.

  • Auto linking domain account to live IDs

    Hello,
    There's any way to link domain account to live ID?
    I've seen that when you link domain account to live ID, in registry this keys are generated:
    [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\StoredIdentities\[email protected]]
    "Keywords"="Associated"
    "CID"="6213e28fcbefc3ed"
    "AssociatedCount"=dword:00000001
    "AccountsCount"=dword:00000002
    "LatestDPAPIKeyVersion"="1387274538"
    [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\StoredIdentities\[email protected]\S-1-5-21-95946...]
    "AccountType"="DomainConnected"
    "Flags"="40000643"
    "FirstName"="my"
    "DisplayName"="id account"
    "LastName"="test"
    "Keywords"="Associated;Connected"
    "LatestDPAPIKeyVersion"="1387274538"
    "ChildFlags"="00000001"
    "DefaultCredSaved"="Persisted"
    If i import that keys to another PC, everything is working fine: domain account is linked to live ID and i can access to Store.
    But, if i import that keys to another PC with "LatestDPAPIKeyVersion" and "CID" modified, the domain account seems to be linked to live ID but i have seen two differents behaviors:
    - First time, i couldn't enter the Store. It was stuck on the green screen, loading the store for more then 30 minutes.
    - Second time, i entered the Store, but when I tried to download app it asked me the password
    So here comes the final cuestion:
    Knowing all that, is there a way to link domain accounts to live ID accounts in an automatic way, assuming we know the live ID accounts and their password?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I think the CID should be specific to every account, but random generate when live account linked. We couldn't link domain accounts to live ID accounts since we couldn't got its
    CID before we link it to domain account.

  • Best approche with domain account and Microsoft account?

    HI,
    We presently try Windows 8.1 in my company. And we have a user/domain account, and this is perfect. Now I discovers we can sync/connect with a Microsoft account. I try to connect to a "business" Microsoft account. But if I do that I can't use Skype
    with my personal account !
    So my real question is when we use a domain account when we connect to a Microsoft Account, best utilization is to use our personal or a business Microsoft account?
    And if I use a business account, how I can use Skype with my personal account?
    Eric

    This is an issue.
    Linking the domain account to one online account is not something I am happy about at all.  We need more flexibility around account settings please.
    S. O'Neill,
    Did you ever find a solution to this issue?   I am hoping to migrate our company from an in house SBS server to Office 365, I had expected that this issue would have been resolved by the Office 365 account also being a Microsoft Account. But I
    have since learned that this is not the case, and for at least one good reason. Windows Store App licenses and payment information is linked to the Microsoft Account.
    Please consider a  small business of 50 to 100 users using Office 365 Enterprise where Users stay in the company between 1 to 3 years.
    Not all staff joining the company would have a personal Microsoft Account, and even if the User did have a personal Microsoft Account, as the User's computer is a company asset, the company cannot violate the user's privacy by having the User use their own
    Microsoft Account. And the company cannot risk the security implications of having the User's personal Microsoft account connected to their corporate computer and network.
    The company IT department could create company owned Microsoft accounts for each User as well as Office 365 User accounts. And when a User leaves, log into the User's company Microsoft Account and check to ensure that the user has not placed any company
    records on their Microsoft Account's OneDrive before deleting their User account.  It will also mean deleting and creating a new Microsoft Account each time a User leaves the company and their replacement is hired.
    However there is an issue here  when the IT Department deletes the Microsoft Account the company looses the license for any software that they have purchased for the user.
    So far the only solution I have been able to determine is to create company "role" based Microsoft Accounts and Office 365 accounts, then use Email Aliases to manage a personalised email address for any user working in that "role". For example we would have
    roles "CEO", "Business.Manager", "Finance.Manager", "Finance.Assistant_1", "Communications.Office", "Marketing.Manager", "Sales.Rep_1", etc.
    I understand that Enterprise organisations do not use Microsoft Accounts at all, but use Side-loading administered from an AD server to manage Windows Store Apps.
    I would very much like to hear how companies are managing the issues caused by Microsoft Accounts, including the issue of there being two OneDrives, a Microsoft Account OneDrive and an Office 365 OneDrive for Business.
