Connection down, need proper help

I'm on bt infinity and my connection has been down since 25/04/13.
I reported it to bt customer support and they told me to test my line (which I have among all the other basic remedies) they then told me to plug my phone in the landline and test it, well I don't have a landline phone, she then hung up.
There had been a worksite up near the cabinet the weekend it went out where workers also cut through a power cable, I'm certain the fault is there. My broadband light is constantly flashing orange and from searching the forums and using my brain, my connection can't be authorised so something is wrong at the exchange. I've asked for an engineer and I've never received one, I need the Internet for my university work (end module due at end of may!). Also because of disabilities I use the Internet for a lot of my care services and daily needs.
I'm sick of the poor service I get on the phone and need someone I can actually understand and has actual networking knowledge.

So once again, I request an engineer before I end up losing my patience with BT, especially if it affects my uni work even more. I expect better support from the amount I pay for my connection.
And before anyone asks, yes as stated earlier I've done all the regular checks (line checks, cabling etc etc)!

They normally reply by email or phone directly to you within 3 working days they will take personal ownership of your problem until resolved and will keep you informed of progress
They are a UK based BT specialist team who have a good record at getting problems solved

  • Broadband Usage Problem - Need Proper Help From BT

    Hello,
    A day ago I received a message from BT saying that I was approaching the usage limit for my BT broadband.  I am on Option 2 and normally use around 20GB in a month.  I checked my usage on My BT and found it was 38.64GB on 14/2.  I checked again this morning and found it was now 42.73GB for the 15/2.
    I've tried calling BT, but have only got through to the BT help in India.  The first person I spoke to said it was because I was being charged for my BTVision usage and wouldn't accept that it was independent of my broadband.  I tried again, and the second person said the same, but upon my insistence checked with a colleague - and came back apologising, saying that the BTVision usage was separate and so I would not be charged at the end of the month.
    I am scared to use my BT broadband and BTVision for fearing of incurring more charges.  I have not done anything that warrants high usage: I don't watch films or play games on-line.  I read news, check e-mails, do banking, view video clips - the usual everyday stuff.
    Please can somebody from BT help me?  I am tired of trying to explain the situation and getting the same scripted answers.  The stock response from the BT staff seems to be for me to upgrade to an unlimited package, but I want to know why this is happening (is it a mistake on BT's part?  I did not use 4GB yesterday), how I can go back to my normal broadband usage, and whether I will be charged for this excessive usage.  In short: something is wrong, I have little control over the situation despite trying repeatedly to talk to someone from BT, and I would like some help.

    This is extremely interesting. I've been having this problem since last summer and still am. I have a similar type of usage to you with browsing, emails etc. My work IT department are gobsmacked how my usage can be so high.
    I've been through exactly the same where I've stopped using my BB service for fear of being charged and i have always suspected BT Vision usage was being included. During a 1 hour phone call with India and several times since I have been told it is "IMPOSSIBLE" for BT Vision usage to be included. This admission appears to prove otherwise !!

    This worked for me... A little time consuming but once you get rolling it goes GREAT... Thanks....
    I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
    Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
    Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
    Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
    Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
    Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
    It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
    Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
    Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
    Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
    Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

    You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
    You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
    The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com.

    Have you the iPad User Guide? If not, download it from the link under manuals at the start of this forum an tke time to give it a cursory read at the very least.

  • Need Itunes Help can't connect

    For about the last three days I haven't been able to connect to the Itune Store. I've restarted my computer, removed Itunes and redownloaded it and i still get the same message...
    Itunes could not connect to the Itunes Store. The network connection was refused. Then in the same box it also says make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.
    Need your help not sure what to do none of my settings have changed.

    I have the same problem, as well when I try logging in I get an error message,
    *We could complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (306).*
    There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
    I also have iTunes on my iPhone with no problems.

    Did you try downloading the movie from iTunes on your iPad?  I know it takes longer but I'd try that. 
    Also try to reset all settings. 
    Settings > General > Reset. Reset all settings.

    Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then restore.

    Not much you can do.  You overwrote your current data with older data when you restored the phone from that backup.  Your data's gone.

    There are often places to go which have free WiFi ie coffee shops, shopping malls, fast-food places.
    You can connect the phone to your computer & download/update via iTunes if you have one.

    1) What type of router is your main router?
    2) Do you plan on using the Express to extend the range of your network, or are you only going to be using it for AirTunes or printer sharing?
    3) When and where do you see the error message? If possible, can you provide the exact wording?
