OS X LION 10.8.2 connection error with AFP
Ok the issue is that i tried to access my external harddrive over AFP with OS X LION and got a error message like this one above. I couldn’t login with a registered user .
We had the same problem in a earlier update but somehow got around it follwing the terminal commands from: http://www.alexanderwilde.com/2011/04/os-x-lion-connection-error-with-afp-and-wo rkaround/
But now after the update its back to be broken again...
Please help!
ThanksExactly the same problem here for a satellite user working abroad.
10.8.2 - cannot connect to the server over AFP. I've run the commands in the link posted, no dice.
Users running 10.8.2 on the internal LAN have no issues however, just this one off-site user. -
Connection Error with iPod mini to Bose Home Theater System
When connecting my iPod mini to my Bose Home Theater system, it recognizes that iPod has been connected, but after the "Acquiring Signal" process, it gives me an "iPod connection error. Please re-insert iPod into docking station." I tried several times, but the result is the same.
My iPod mini has been updated with the latest software, and I did a system restore to return everything to factory defaults, but still no luck.
Any suggestions.Hi. What you need to do is Launch DVD Player. Go to Preferences. Select Disc Setup tab. In Audio Output under Audio in the second part of the menu, select Digital Out-Built-in-Output. Then click OK. See if this works, 'cause mine does.

IPhone 3G 2.1 connection error with iTunes 8 on Windows Vista Enterprise
I was previously able to connect my iphone with my work computer (Windows Vista Enterprise) and it would recognize my phone. However, since I updated my iphone to version 2.1, it will not recognize the phone and gives me the following error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iphone because an unknown error occured (0xE8000024)."
I am able to connect my phone with version 2.1 to my home computer running Windows XP SP2.
Any idea what may be causing the connection error in Windows Vista?Hey TranceCadet,
This could be caused by a USB connection issue.
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the PC and not plugged into a hub, monitor, or keyboard. Disconnect any other USB devices, other than the keyboard and mouse.
This article has some general USB troubleshooting tips: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
You may also want to disable or reconfigure any security software. This article will walk you through putting the PC in a selective startup mode, which will bypass most application conflicts.

Can't sign in due to server error with icloud, windows 8 laptop
I cannot sign in to icloud on my windows 8 laptop due to server error.
With as many people that have this same issue, I am very surprised that support is still sleeping at the wheel. Some of the suggestions border on the absolute absurd (e.g. create new user account, check the system clock, etc.). I've tried them all, including exclusion from AVAST, resetting router, etc etc etc. iCloud status shows all green.
As the owner of a software development company, I find it hard to believe Apple, of all support, has been unable to get this issue resolved once and for all. It would certainly make sense, as well, to collate this issue into a single thread instead of bouncing users off the moon and back.
I spent 1/2 day on the phone with Apple support trying to get iTunes to backup and was promised a call back from the next tier of support. That was 4 months ago and I still haven't been able to backup my iphone 4S. I've never seen software that is more kludgy and unreliable with every passing upgrade (sorry, but it's the truth)!
After two years of not being able to back up my phone, I am considering going to a more reliable platform. After 6 years on the Apple bus, maybe it's time to get off.

I have updated to Firefox 33.0.3 and now I am getting untrusted connection errors when trying to go to Yahoo.com and Amazon.com this happens with both http and https. My time is in sync. I tried deleting the cert8.db file.
I have looked at other solutions and they have not worked. These sites were working fine on the previous version for me but now with this new update they are not working. Why hasn't Mozilla fixed this already?Yes I have tried the steps above. For example, When I try to get to Yahoo web site, I get this:
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.yahoo.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
www.yahoo.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
I do not have the option to do an exception because I can only click on the Technical Details and the Get me Out of Here button.
As I've said in my previous post, I have deleted the cert8.db file, my clock is in sync, and I have tried to do the other solutions but they have not worked. -

Thank YouHi,
Did you receive the error with "Create User" Activity from the Microsoft Active Directory Integration Pack (IP) for System Center 2012 - Orchestrator? Are Activities from this IP like "Get User" working? -> A vaild "Container
Distinguished Name" must be specified, either in the "Create User" Activity or a default in the connection settings of the Active Directory IP.
Perhaps you can share how the Activity and the connection is configured. It will help to help you.

Stefan

ICal 403 Error with iCloud Family Group
Yesterday I created a Family Group using my iPhone and iOS 8. Now when we open iCal on our computers (all running OS X 10.9.4) we get the following error message:
The server responded with an error.
The server responded "403" to operation "CalDAVAccountRefreshQueableOperation
I've tried signing out of iCloud and then back in but this doesn't help. And it's happening on all our computers, one a brand new MacBook that previously had nothing on it. And it's happening across iCloud accounts.
Anyone have a solution?I get the iCloud 403 error for some weeks now and meanwhile it is really very annoying. (both Mavericks and Yosemite, Fantastical and Apple's normal iCal)
- go to sytem pref > icloud > unchecked calendar
- remove all this files :
home/libraryApplication Support/iCal
home/libraryCaches/iCal
home/libraryCaches/com.apple.iCal
home/libraryPreferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
home/libraryPreferences/com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist
home/libraryPreferences/com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
- restart the Mac
does NOT help. I was hoping it had something to do with iCloud drive activated in iOS and Yosemite would solve the issue, but no.
I even deleted my main iCloud calendar and the Family calendar and now I have reached a point with no further idea.
Shall I really use a Google Calendar now ? I am only dreaming this, right ?
PS: It works on iOS and the iCloud.com webpage. Creating a complete new iMAc user also does not help, the problem is the same on all my iMacs. On the same machines other users with other iCloud accounts don't have the problem. -
Installation and Connection Error with Desktop Manager and Curve 3G
I just installed Desktop Manager 6.01 and then tried connecting my Curve 3G to the system using the accompanying USB cable.. But there was a connection error.. so i did a bit searching on the net and went to (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB00125) which gave me a solution to install m\y driver.. But when i try to manually install my driver, it shows an error "THE SERVICE CANNOT BE STARTED, EITHER BECAUSE IT IS DISABLED OR IT HAS NO ENABLED DEVICES ASSOCIATED WITH IT" now the USB is working because my phone is being recognised by the laptop and moreover in the device manager od my Vista, Blackberry is being shown... I cn see in drivers that Drivers have been installed but the drive Information such as Version, date is not available and the driver is unsigned...
Can someone tell me what exactly might the problem?? any reply will be appreciated..I encountered the same issue, Not sure if you'll have the same results, but all i did was enable windows updates, and did an automatic driver update from the web (as in from windows updates) and after a reboot, all was back to normal.
hope that helps, -

at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:173)Hi,
can you elaborate a bit more on this: +"I try pushing in an external task flow call as a dialog then I get weird database connection errors."+
There is a known issue with passivation when a database bound application calls an unbound task flow (or vice versa - don't have the bug report open). This reported bug got fixed for JDeveloper 11g. However, if your application does not use ADF BC at all (just the mockup) then this might be something different. Dependent on the pain it causes on your side you can send me a reproducible testcase (which is indication low pain on your side) or contact customer support (if this hinders you from proceeding with your task). My mail address is in my OTN profile. Make sure the attachement is in a ZIP where you rename ".zip" to ".unzip". I would then try and run it against 11.1.14 and if it still reproduces file a bug

Handling of Connection error with database
hi, my application is using oracle 9i as database (connection via jdbc).
I understand that we can capture the exact connection errors to database, in event that the database is down or not available. This will allow a more meaningful errors message to be thrown, like "Database is not available" when the user try to login to the system. Is that a particular sql exception that i can catch for such connection errors? or if there is not, what is the best practise for handlng such situation?Yes, java.sql.SQLException is designed for that. It has two methods, getSQLState and getErrorCode, that will help you get the state of the RDBMS if something goes wrong. - MOD

I keep getting server errors with icloud why and what can l do
Can any one help me please
That's an awfully vague question. What servers? Mail? Calendars? and what operating system are you using?
I'm going to hazard a guess that you are having trouble with your email, and that you are using a pre-Lion system such as Snow Leopard. (If this guess is incorrect you're going to have to provide more details.)
You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

The situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard is described in detail here:
http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
If you have Tiger you can set up mail manually, though no other iCloud facilities will work:

Connection Error with USB on Q10
It took 4 tries to backup the Q10 because I kept getting a connection error. I am also getting a connection error every time I try to sync music from iTunes to the Q10.
Hey cds9,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
Can you provide the full connection error message? Also are you using a PC or Mac?
I look forward to your reply.
Cheers.

IOS 5.1.1 Ringtone volume problem.
I just updated my phone to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1. The max ringtone volume under 5.0.1 was much louder than it is on 5.1.1. What gives? I have restored just to make sure the update didn't go wrong. Everything works fine except the ringtone volume.
