Connection in Test

Hello all,
i moved my Olap universes from Dev to test....
when i login to test and -go to "Connections" ..... i can see that the connections are still pointing to Dev and DEv application server. is that right.....i tried to make it to point to Test and Test application server but its not happening.
I want to understand this....i moved my Olap universes from DEV to TEST....so when i run report in TEST infoview will it pull data from Test? since we have real data in Test and not in Dev.

please consider using the Life Cycle Manager to move content from DEV to TEST. It allows you to let the connections being mapped automatically from the SAP DEV to the SAP TEST back-end during the transfer.

Error with connecting to TEST in Financial Reporting Studio

Test server is confirmed working as seen connecting to EPMA in Workspace. However, when it comes to connecting to Test in FRS, after changing the Test URL to Test server in the startup box, I received the following error message:
"You are not authorized to use this functionality. Contact your administrator."
Any idea where and how I should go about this? If in Shared Services, where exactly?

Sounds like you need to give/get yourself access to create reports. In shared services your user ID needs to be provisioned with the role of Report Designer. It's under Reporting and Analysis - Reporting and Analysis Administrator - Content Manager - Report Designer.

Is there any connection to test Retek?

Is there any connection to test Retek the modules Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and Retail Distribution Management (RDM)?
And Where I can find information about integration of RDM with RMS? Only I know that it is through RIB but I can´t find more information

Subtract Composite Mode
Subtract darkens all overlapping colors. Whites in the foreground image go black, while whites in the background image invert overlapping color values in the foreground image, creating a negative effect.

The order of two clips affected by the Subtract composite mode is important.
Difference Composite Mode
The Difference composite mode is similar to the Subtract composite mode, except that areas of the image that would be severely darkened by the Subtract composite mode are colored differently.

"Register with ESB" failing, though AS and IS connections are tested and OK

When trying to deploy my ESB project, in the "Register with ESB" phase I am now all of a sudden getting the following Error (the same project was working fine for months unchanged until today). This is even though the AS and IS connections are tested and still working fine.
Things that changed today:
1.Change 1 – when starting JDEV I was prompted to download some Jdev patch/upgrade for some sort of new BPEL modeling framework, so I installed, JDEV asked to reboot so did, JDEV asked to upgrade JDEV from former, so did, JDEV asked for what dir, so went with default .../jdev/system
2. Change 2: tried also to deploy the standard “Order booking SOA demo” after patching.
3. The Error message I started getting, both for new and old deployments (that were working fine until today), is below, as is my version information:

whenever I try to submit a HRMS request it is stopped with 'Cancelled:Error" and when I am vewing the log the following message is showing:-

Please check your DISPLAY is set corectly, Also check X-server is running.If all is okey then issue is:
Connect server via vnc
open terminal on vnc screen
as root type xhost +
then retest issue

E3500 - Cloud Connect Speed test not correct

I’m doing a comparison on my internet speed using various methods and the Cloud Connect Speed Test app.
First thing I noticed is the App gauge only goes to 20Mbps
I have tested various online speed tests and I get a consistent 70 – 90 Mbps.
(I work from home using multiple VoIP lines and have extreme bandwidth requirements so I’ve opted for the higher package)
Why is the Cisco Cloud App showing only 7 – 16 Mps?. The upload is inline.

Two things that I can think of. First is to go into the bios, hit the F9 key to set Setup Defaults, then hit the F10 key to save and exit. This has been known to make a difference on some systems.
Also check to see if you ahve the latest bios version. On that one the latest is 1.40. IF it isn't you might want to try updating it to the latest.
Go to the Product Support Link at the top of this page, enter in your model, then clik on the Download Tab to find the available bios files for that model. The latest is 1.40. DO NOT update the bios from within Windows. Don't do it, don't even think about doing it if you want to use your computer again. When you double click on the download you will be presented with the choice of creating a CD to flash the bios from. USE THIS METHOD. You can use a CD-RW so you don't waste a blank, but even the cost of a regular blank CD is cheap compared to the $100 that most places will charge you to fix a botched bios flash. Make sure that your battery is fully charged, installed, and the AC Adapter is plugged in just in case.
And don't forget to go into the bios and hit the F9 key to set Bios/Setup Defaults then F10 to exit and save just prior to and immediately after updating the bios.

Connectivity to Test Controllers and Test Agents in virtual machine

Hi,
I’m setting up the load test infrastructure- configured test controller and test agent on skytap virtual machine (which is windows server 2012). I have configured as below:
The load tests exist on my machine (TFS 2013) , in test settings I selected – Local execution with remote collection, tried with selecting remote execution, selected the controller, the status shows as connected to controller: ‘XXXXXXXXXXX:6901’
I have configured the test controller ( TC 2013 ) for load testing, specified logon account as – Local system, since I’m not connecting the TFS in my virtual machine I skipped the Team Project Collection part. The load test database (SQLExpress)
is connected.
The Text Agent (TA 2013) also exists on the same virtual machine and is registered with controller. The test agent is running as service , logon as – Network service
I had checked the services, admin users on my machine and virtual machine, made the firewall exceptions, tried disabling the firewall too, checked the config files for QTController and QTTest Agent(C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE)
for port 6901, I can ping my machine( IP or with DNS) to Virtual machine ( vice versa). I also tried to set the logging – verbose for all TA, TC , devenv config ( however, I could see any logs).
The machines are in same domain and port 6901 is accessible from local machine.
When I try to run my load test from my machine it gives the below error:
Error: Failed to queue test run 'LoadTests (2015-01-22 15:04:00)': A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host
has failed to respond.
I tried troubleshooting with all the online help available, could not find a solution.
Please help on this.

- There were no errors while configuring TC, TA on VM , only warnings as below:
Since you have not configured lab service account, make sure a) test agent can communicate with the test controller, b) test controller and test agent can access the build drop location, and c) Microsoft Test Manager can connect to the test controller
during manual test runs. Manual steps might be needed to setup the permissions mentioned above.
-The test Agent is ready status in the Manage Test Controllers Window in the local.testsetings file.
- The load tests run successfully when I select local execution.
- I have referred the links mentioned , couldn't find the solution, also sending some content from logs I have on the VM machine where my TC, TA exist.
- Also, I’m the admin on my TFS machine and VM .
- TC configuration – as Local system , TA configuration- as network service.

Connect Meeting Test failed

In the Adobe Connect Connection Test, I am getting a fail on step 2: Adobe Connect connection test: unable to connect.
What is actually tested in this step? I have 2 macbooks on the same network, 1 can get in and is hosting a meeting, the other can not. Is there an error log to be looking at that might shed light on the issue?

That port is for internal server communications or server to server communications in a clustered environment, not for server to user communications.
You may want to bring this to the attention of the Server Admins if this deployment of Connect is a licensed deployment, or Adobe Support to see if the root cause of this can be identified.
If you are connecting to a licensed deployment of Adobe Connect that is clustered, then there may be something happening with one of the servers or possibly the load balancer, and your one computer just happens to be connecting to the broken server.

Why can I connect to test but not to friends

Sigh.
My on going issues with iChat continues. Basically we have all but given up and for many weeks have just not bothered using our 'it just works' video chat.
One question that keeps popping up is why can I connect to the apple test, why can my friends connect to the apple test, but why can we not connect to each other?
More over we could all connect to each other prior to 10.4, no hardware or ISP has changed.
I do appreciate the amount of help coming out of these boards, especially from Ralph, but the question has to be asked yet again, what are apple doing about this issue, everything was just fine with iChat in 10.3, I know I am not alone.
Anyway if anyone can offer advice on why a ZOOM X4 router/modem or a Draytek Vigor 2600 does not work correctly or anyone is able to use these modems I would appreciate a reply. I would also like info on setting them up, even though they were just fine before.

Possibly SIP aware and causing these problems.
Symptoms:
A small group of Buddies that you can connect to all the time.
Another small group of Buddies you can connect to now and then.
Depending on the size of your Buddy list, a larger group of non successful contacts.
Solution
Unbind SIP from port 5060 in the modem.

For the Zoom I looked at this page I can not see that this has the UPnP setting which would be easiest to set up.
The page tells you and shows you what the set up pages look like to achieve Port Forwarding.

Ethernet Port Connection Speed Test

I'm an LV newbie and want to verify that the connection speed between a PC running LV and a listening system is 100Mbps. Can this be done with LV or do I need an Ethernet test (e.g., BERT or similar) to do this. Pinging the other port can't tell me the connection speed to my (little) knowledge.

Not sure if this is useful or not but you can open the Task Manager and look at the bus utilization on the network devices and their theoretical maximum speed.

Connection pool testing for dealing with database restarts

How do you configure the app server to test JDBC connections before handing them to the application? The app server needs to accomodate database restarts while the app is running.
We have an EAR file built with ANT (we use Eclipse 3.x to develop the app) and we use the deploy tool for getting it installed on the engine at 6.40 SP15. We have setup a datasource in the project options but I don't see how to configure it so that the engine tests JDBC connections before giving them to the application. We need to guard against database restarts and other app servers that I have used have an option that takes care of this detail. I cannot get the deploy tool help to appear due to an invalid URL being requested by the tool.

you are right, in visual admin, it appears, any options to test a poll served connection are absent.
Remedy: In tab additional
- check expiration control and set
- connection lifetime to say 60 (seconds) and
- cleanup thread to say 30
This way, you can't fully avoid, but diminish the likelihood to catch a bad connection.

How do I remap the connection from test to production

We are in the process of setting up EPIC's Healthcare software and purchased BO XI 3.1 for the reporting. And one of the topics is what is the best practice for managing the data connection to redirect from server to server. Each report will have to move through 3 servers, ClarityPOC (development) server, then once logos are on them and they are tested we need to move them to Clarity_QA (test) and then again to Clarity_Prod (production) server.

There are couple of ways to move the objects from Dev to QA followed by Production.
1). LCM Method, where you need to install software and add the Dev, QA and Prod and move the Objects as Hakim said.

2). Another method is Import Wizard
In this method, you don't need LCM tool, In the installed BO, there is a wizard called import wizard where you can move the objects around.
If your Version of BI is 4.0 then LCM is integrated in BOBJ.

WiFi connection problem testing

I am also one of many having the intermittent WiFi connection problem at home.
From a technical testing mode. Get the free the "FreePing" application by Marcel Lanz in the app store.
What you will find is when you are having the internet connection problem, you can not ping your Router. However, you can ping any wired Mac or desktop computer on your router/switch network.
This tells you, you are on the network, getting an IP address from the router DHCP server.
The problem is not related to the Wi-Fi connection or connecting to the network (OSI Layer 2 model).
It appears to be a problem at the OSI Network Layer 3. The router is having a problem in the routing table. The hard part is the Layer 3 problem can be either in the Touch or the router in this configuration. Meaning, the combination of both Touch and router is causing the problem. Thus, the intermittent operation.
Yes, this is probably more technical than anyone here cares to know.

You should be debugging the driver / contact the vendor. Seems like netrtwlanu is realtek based chipset.
The abort points to this driver (at least the PC).

Both can connect to test sites but not videochat with each other

I am using a 2GHz PPC iMac on 10.4.6 with external iSight. I can see the Apple ad from one of the test sites. My wife is using a G4 PowerBook running the latest Panther OS with external iSight. She is in a hotel but can also see the Apple ad from the test site. When she was home, we could videochat over Bonjour.
But, while she is in the hotel out of town, we couldn't videochat with each other. Whether one initiated or the other did, we both get the "XXX failed to respond" message even though we obviously did accept the videocall.
If we both can videochat with the test sites, how come we cannot videochat with each other?
Given the above, I hope some experts can rule out a bunch of stuff and let me know the finite (and small) set of potential reasons affecting our situation so that I can work on resolving this efficiently.
What could be the likely problem?
On my side, I use an Apple AEBS that uses DHCP and NAT but my iMac is manually set to 10.0.1.201. I have set the ports in Firewall but even when I turned off Firewall it did not work.
Any help is much appreciated.

The test sites are most likely set to have the ports open by UPnP which does not use NAT.
If you modem is routing and is using Port Forwarding and the Airport is as well then you have two lots of NAT going on at your end.
I would Open Airport Admin Utilty (Applications/Utilities) and log on to the Airport
Go to the Network tab.
Deselect Distributing Addresses which wll trun off NAT in the Airport and make it a Wireless access device.
This means your computer will have to take an IP form the Modem.
This may not be rquired if the modem id is Bridge mode itself as this measn it is not routing and all port will be open without the use of NAT.
