Connection issue / problem to shared Wifi on MacMini from other device
I have shared my Airport connection on my MacMini (intel based late 2006 model) to allow other devices to connect. I have successfully used the connection with a WinXP Home laptop using SMC wifi card (802.11b).
I have set WEP password of 5 characters (just to get things going).
SSID of "MacMini".
I am unable to connect with Lucent Wavelan card from PB1400 (802.11b).
I am unable to connect with Dell Latitude D510 centrino based laptop (802.11g).
With the PB1400, the Orinoco drivers appear to be unable to see the network.
With the Dell, an attempt to connect is challenged with a password prompt but gets no further.
Both devices can connect to my DLINK wireless router.
Connection strength/quality should not be an issue as I was sitting right next to MacMini while trying.
Are there known issues with connections from older devices?
Anyone been able to connect in similar manner with devices like this?
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
Is there a log I can look at on the MacMini to show what is happening (I'm a MacOS X newbie - so specific instructions to follow would be appreciated) ?

I installed WEP Key Maker (found it on Tucows) and changed the WEP pw on the MacMini (now prefixed with $).
The Orinoco Control Panel has the following info:
Current Network: - Searching -
Base Station Address: - none -
Signal Strength: 1 bar -> non existent?
Hardware v4.2, Primary firmware v4.4, Station Firmware v8.35
Further in, I have ticked Access Point, Use Encryption, I have entered WEP key with 0x prefix.
I can see MacMini in the network selection list (and it stays there if I refresh).
When I click ok to update the settings I see the tx light on the Orinoco card flash briefly.
However, Current Network does not change.
Attempts to use an internet application fail with open transport error number -3155.
I don't have the Dell with me to try out at the moment.
Any help appreciated.

My ipad3 seems to have connection issues. It is wifi only but keeps losing the connection and is really slow in loading pages - a bit like dial-up speed! My iPhone 4s and daughters' ipad2 have no problems at all. Any ideas anyone?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

I have just updated the i06 software for my iPad and it will not connect to my home wifi network - all my other devices are able to connect to my wifi network.
I have attempted all troubleshooting actions suggested and nothing has worked. I have restored my iPad network and factory settings - Please help - this is frustrating meyou have to set up your router to solve th problem. first find and write down the ipad mac address.
then log on to your router using your laptop or any device that can connect to router at 192.168.0.1 in your web browser. please check out my posting about how to resolve the wifi connection problem.
i think the ios6 update has reset the networking but if you set up the router then you should not have the same problem any more. -
Upgraded to Maverick. Now cannot connect to wifi. All my other devices will connect. Have rest wireless hot spot switch and cable modem. Other devices still connect but MacPro does not. MacPro wireless is self assigning an IP address blocking access. It will connect if I connect to my iPhone hot spot via wifi. Any ideas?
If you follow this video you'll see how to delete your WiFi AP from the OS, this will allow you to select it again which I feel will correct your problem.

My ipod is cracked and it chipped away a little more last night and that's when my wifi stopped working. My wifi works on every other device in my house except for my ipod. Is there something wrong with my ipod?
Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Try right next to the router
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF

My guess is that when you see the router on your phone, you press the blue arrow on the right - thats why you see all the IP stuff. Don't press the blue arrow. Press further to the left. You should be prompted for a password then.

Bluetooth sharing from other devices to blackberry
hi team, i kind of find it difficult transfering data through bluetooth from other devices to blackberry even though the two devices are paired. when doing the transfer from the blackberry to the other devices, it works but not the other way round, any solutions?

Substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device in place of the KB section for the sending device. Unless you are on BB OS 6, do not skip the "Receive Using BT" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.

Try to configure a 7940 phone with CAD. When I try to log in as the agent I get this message "

Yes you can configure Extension Mobility for those users so they can use any available IP Phone logon with cad.

Why does my mac air reject new wifi password when all other devices work fine
My mac air rejects our new wifi password, but all other devices are working fine including this ancient mac. The mac air is OSX 10.8.5
Power Cycle
Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
Start up in Safe Mode. OS X Mountain Lion/ Mavericks/Yosemite

I am using an iPhone 4S with 16gb memory. I did not yet update to iOS 8. I'm using 7.1.2. I have never had any problems previously using 3G or wifi. We just moved and have a new Netgear router supplied by our new ISP. We have ADSL connection. The router seems to be working fine for all the devices in the house. At any time we may have 2 or 3 laptops connected, as well as Kindle Fires, iPod Touches, and my husband's iPhone (which is the same make, model, year as mine). My iPhone will connect, but usually within minutes after connecting my iPhone 4S (though sometimes 30 minutes or more later), it kicks everyone offline and the router needs to be restarted. The router shows appropriate green lights and I can see it on my list of available networks, but if I try to connect I get the "unable to connect to this network" message until we restart the router. No one else is able to reconnect until the restart, either.
I have tried resetting network settings on my iPhone. I have completely turned off my iPhone and the router. I have talked with someone at our ISP and they did a reset of the router with me. They think the router is bad. But it works completely fine for everyone else in the house, so I can't help but think we are having a connection issue between the router and my iPhone.

Try resetting the iPhone...
Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then release. This may take up to 10 seconds. This is the equivalent of a re-boot and you will not lose any data.
If none of the above work take it to an Apple store or AASP for evaluation. She will not be charged folr this and they will suggest a solution if there is a fault.
