Connection issues to the ITunes Store
I recently upgraded to the most current version of ITunes and ever since then I receive the error message "Itunes cannot connect to the ITunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." I do not know how to fix it and I didn't have this problem before the upgrade. I uninstalled ITunes and reinstalled it and it didn't do anything. Does any one have any suggestions?
AppleGirl08,
I am having the same issue too! I have always been able to connect to iTunes until I downloaded the latest version(7.0) Below are the steps I have taken to solve the problem without success. Do you have any other suggestions for me?
Thanks!

HT1369 I can't get my computer to connect me to the itunes store
I'm able to listen to my purchased music but i can't go to the store to purchase. I keep getting an error that its not connected to the network
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Although the application works fine such as playing music, downloading app updates and music. However, when I attempted to make the connection between iTunes Store and the current version of iTunes, the iTunes window began to froze, then the error message showed that there was a problem with the application that causes it to shut down. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Hey *9,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, iTunes unexpectedly quit. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

I am trying to make a purchase and I get the following error:
we could not complete your itunes store request. there is not enough memory available.
I have already uninstalled and installed the application and I continue to get the same error message. But the funny thing is taht I am able to update my podcast subscription.
Any help in this would be great.I just got an email from iTunes support and was told that they couldn't help me because it was outside the scope of thier duties and directed me to the discussions board.
What really ****** me off is that there are alot of posting about this issue but nobody seems to have an answer. I am still waiting for another answer from the iTunes support rep. Let me know if you get some news on how to fix this issue. -
i rented a movie from itunes. i was on a plane when i tried to access it...but got an error message saying "cannot access itunes store". i had a wifi connection but had to purchase internet to watch the movie on the plane. never had this problem with my ipad and never have it when i download tv shows. what's the deal with movies?
It's not normal, presuming that the movie downloaded completely, but it has come up from time to time. I've not been able to figure out from the various posts why rentals work for most but in some cases insist on a connection to the iTunes store. Go here:

to report the issue to the iTunes Store. Perhaps they can provide an explanation, though you may just get canned and rather inapplicable replies about how to rent or download.

Why can't I access to browse music, podcasts, or anything else in the iTunes store now? I'm running iTunes 11.0.4 X10.8.5 on a 2-year old iMac. I've had access previously, and done nothing to upgrade or change anything since I last could access everything in the store.

If the issue persists, here are some helpful troubleshooting steps when experiencing issues with the iTunes Store.
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

Windows 8 or Windows RT? iTunes won't run on Windows RT. It should run on Windows 8. Use the appropriate installer from an account with administrator privileges.
Windows System Requirements
PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store

Hi,
I would like to know if Apple is planning to add more African countries to its list of Itunes Store countries (and if so aproximately when).
NYC or in London.
Here is my issue. I have moved from London to Abidjan (Ivory Coast) over a year ago and my foreign bank cards have recently expired which means any payments with these are now impossible. I will get my new cards during my next trip to the UK in 6 months.
I have been trying to make several purchases and most recently to upgrade from Mac OS 10.6.8 to OS X Mountain Lion but I can't because it is currently impossible to change the Itunes Store country to IVORY COAST/ Cote d'Ivoire (from the United Kingdom).
To top it off, although it is now possible to make iTunes payments trough www.clickandbuy.com (was excited and went through the process of setting up, verifying and prefunding a Clickandbuy account to make my OS X Mountain Lion payment) iTunes refuses a payment if the country of the credit/debit card registered with Clickandbuy (Ivory Coast) is different from that of the iTunes store country (United Kingdom).
This is a huge disappointment because I fail to understand why one would use Click and Buy or Paypal or ay other similar secured online payment service to make a payment in Itunes if one can use iTunes directly. What was the point of adding Click and Buy as a mean of payment in the first palce? and if they were able to verify my account, then why can't Apple do the same especially when I am an existing client?
Seriously this means Apple customers from certain African countries are being discriminated, if I was based in Cotonou or Accra, I would be allowed to change my store to Benin or Ghana and make payments with a local credit card. This is not fair.
Apple pls you have to do something about this Country issues in the iTunes Store!
Thanks
