Connection Key Corrupt

When I send a connection ket to one of the user she got this error mesage, "The connection key you're trying to import is corrupt. Please contact your administrator for assistance." Our agency has several locations but we can all access to the server. I have been sending connection keys to other user in different location and I don't have any problem except tthis particular user in this particular location. Any help will be appreciated. Thansks!

Do you have CS3 and your user has CS4? If so, this is exactly problem I have, which is currently with Adobe Tech Support for resolution.

  • Connection keys for 2.0 users

I currently administer employees having Contribute 2, 3 and
CS3. New Contribute users get CS3 but old users are still on 2 and
    3. I also train users so I have all 3 versions on my PC. Since
installing CS3 I can no longer send connection keys to version 2
users who have had it reinstalled due to getting a new PC or having
an old PC re-imaged. When I try to use Contribute 2 to send a
connection key I am told that it is being administered by a newer
version of Contribute yet sending a connection key from a newer
version results in the users getting a message that the connection
key file is corrupt. How do I send connection keys to my version 2
    users?

I tried again this morning by entering the following:
    Identify Administrator:
    First Name: Edwin
    Last Name: McGee
    e-mail: [email protected]
    Next -->
    Name Workspace:
    Workspace: GUESTROOM

    New schema to create: PDAM
    Initial space allocation: 10MB
    Next -->
    Justify request:
Development and Testing via OTN APEX Forum.
    Next -->
Enter Verification code: blah-blah-blah-blah not really, but it doesn't matter what I enter here because it is different each time)
    Submit request -->
    Resulting page:
ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("FLOWS_030000"."WWV_FLOW_PROVISION_COMPANY"."COMPANY_NAME")
    Error requesting Workspace: .
    Return to application.
It is interesting to note that the page where I enter the verification code does not show any of the data I entered previously (e.g. First Name, Last Name, etc.).
I am running Windows 2000 Professional with administrative privileges and MS IE 6.0.2800.1106 128-bit cipher SP1. I also have Java Plug-in 1.6.0_01and I am using JRE version 1.6.0_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM. I suspect that this is probably a local issue, but did not encounter this problem when I initially configured my first workspace. Thanks.

  • Critical Connection Key Help

We've been using Contribute in our school district for over
five years. Yesterday, out of the blue, we started getting reports
from users about a message that "Contribute could not read the
shared setting file for this website because the file has been
corrupted. To re-create the shared setting file, an administrator
must administer the website again." When I tried to go into
Contribute to administer the site, it wouldn't let me connect.
With no other option, I deleted the connection, re-created it
and had to reset all of the roles. I spent the day re-creating the
roles and just sent new keys to the teachers to allow them to
connect. I tested a few of the keys and they seemed to work fine.
However, when the teachers tried to use them, they got the
following message: "The connection key you are trying to import is
corrupt, please see an administrator for a valid connection key".
I'm at a loss at this point. I don't know why they wouldn't
be able to connect with the new keys I just created.
Our environment: A mix of Contribute 3.11 and Contribute 4
users (all Windows platform). I administer the site using
Contribute 4 but have kept it in Transition Mode. We've been set up
this way since the summer and had no problems with it until
    yesterday.
As of right now, I have about 175 users that are unable to
make changes to their websites and with school starting just about
a week ago, they are really on me to solve this problem.
    Thanks!

Try the hard reset code, which will wipe all of your data and installed apps.  If it fails to solve the problem then only a nokia care point can help you.
    Hard reset:
    1. Switch off the phone.
    2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
    3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
    4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers.

  • CS3 / CS4 connection key issues.

My clients and I both upgraded to CS4 around the same time... it's been a while. Before we all had CS3. Now when I try to put my role as an admin - it corrupts all their connection keys and I then have to remove admin rights and set their connections up manually. Any thoughts on why this happens?
    Thank you.

Might be due to the Compatability settings. Please refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2009/09/compatibilty_transition_mode.html for more information.

  • Sending a connection key from a Mac to a PC

It is very easy to send a connection key, but when I send one to PC from a MAC, I get this error "This connection key is only compatible with the Macintosh version of Contribute.".
Does anyone have suggestions on why this happening?

The network path is the location of the website in your organization’s local network. The network path includes the name of the server on which the website is stored and the directory path of the website’s files on that server.
For example, your network path might be \\mycomputer\wwwroot\ (Windows) or afp://server:volume: (Mac OS).
Note: If you are a Mac user, to create a LAN connection, make sure to mount the network volume of the server you are creating a connection to on your computer desktop before you create your connection. In the Finder, select Go > Connect to Server to mount the network to which you want to connect.
    Hope this answers.

  • What is the best way to test connection keys?

I've created multiple connection key for various rolse on a
new site. When I select the key it asks if I want to replace the
existing connection, which I really don't want to do.
What is the best way to handle this so the administrative
    connection is not affected?

Also create a connection key for you administrator role, so
    you can swiftly switch back.

  • Connection key compatibility problem between Mac and Windows

I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and came up with a work-around?
We are rolling out Contribute CS5 to some employees.
The designers (I'm one of them) are all on Macs. Everyone else is on Windows XP.
We are connecting to our sites via local/network. IT didn't want to set up FTP (I won't go into why right now).
So, here is where the problem is... We set up the site and do the first connection on our Macs. Then when we send out a site key, to a Windows user, the key is no good. This is because Macs handle paths to network shares differently than Windows does.
I thought the solution would be to customize the key with the Windows share path before sending it to the Windows users. However, Contribute wants to verify the path before letting me continute to make a customized key. And that is where I'm stuck. Is there a solution to this - besides switching to FTP?
    Thanks,
    Ward

For windows users can you create a connection key in Windows machine and send the same.

  • Connection key doesn't work

    Hi, I have Contribute CS3/Dreamweaver CS3. When I create a
connection key, then send it to a user (or try to use it myself) I
get the message "Your FTP username or password is incorrect." In
testing: I create a key in DW/CS3, place it on my Mac deskcop, then
open Contribute CS3, double-click the key, I get the message. If I
create a new connection in Contribute CS3 as admin, I can get in to
edit site. I create a connection key, place it on my Mac desktop,
remove the connection in Contribute CS3, then double-click the new
key, I get the same message. Same problem for clients. All sites,
all clients. I can walk a client through manually adding the
connection and it works just fine. Anyone with any ideas why the
    keys don't work???

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Creating connection keys programmatically

    Hi,
Is there anyway I can create the connection keys
programmatically, using an API or something ?
    Thanks in advance

It is in XML, and encrypted. The code looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <site>
    <version creator="Contribute" major="3" minor="0"/>
    <localinfo sitename="Your Site" httpaddress="
    http://www.yoursite.com/"
    curserver="webserver"/>

  • Sending Publisher Connection Key gives Admin Rights in Contribute CS4

I manage numerous remote sites around the country remotely using Contribute CS4. Each site uses a common template with different header images and left navigation.
All of these sites function beautifully except one. On this particular site, sending a publisher connection key allows the user to connect to and edit pages on the site. However, the connection shows my (admin) email address, gives the user admin rights, and then puts a lock (.lck) file on almost all of the files, including the .CSS file. It also gives odd messages about workflow errors.
From my end on the Contribute Administer Websites panel, the user shows up as publisher, but on their end, they have admin rights and my email address displays on their connection
I tried deleting all of the files in the _mm and _notes folders and starting over, but this did not fix the problems.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Did you try re-creating Publisher keys for them, and sending it to your client? Also, with the existing key which your client has, what is the Role information for that connection key? This can be checked in the My Connections dialog.
Where is your e-mail address being shown? If it is in the My Connections dialog along with the connection name, then that is because the administrator's e-mail address is shown there.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connection key

I'm a longtime Dreamweaver user and just installed Contribute
    CS4.
As a website designer / developer some of my clients want to
do minor edits to the websites I build them. I'm running a test to
see what they must do, so I setup a beta site on my server.
I created a "connection key" and sent it to a test client.
She got it, but when she double-clicks it, Vista says "what program
    opens this file?"
I have Contribute on my machine. Does the client need it
too?? Sounds like a dumb question, but I don't see anything in
    documention that covers this.
    Thanks,
    John

Contribute is a client side program. It needs to be installed
on your computer and your clients computer. Communication with the
webserver is done with FTP. When your client installs Contribute,
the program will run when she double clicks the key.

  • Connection Key Issues

I have a user for whom I've sent a connection key, when they
try to use the key (i.e. opening the key in Contribute), they
    receive the following error:
Contribute could not verify your connection key.
Please contact your administrator for assistance.
(Server Error: Contribute cannot contact the website
specified in the connection key. Please contact this website's
    Administrator for assistance.)
The user is in the same user group on the Windows server as
all the other users of Contribute and they are using the correct
    login information.
Any ideas on what could be going on?

    I have a similar problem.
I am working with a user who has a Mac; I have a PC. We are
    both using Contribute 2.
I sent him a connection key together with the password.
When he clicked on the key and entered the password, he got
    the following error message:
Your login or password is incorrect. Please check your
connection information or contact your administrator.
I went round to enter in the password myself to make sure it
was entered correctly and I got the same error message.
However when I click on the connection key on my machine and
enter the same password, I have no problems re-setting the
    connection.
Does anyone have any ideas about what's going wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Connection key problem

I can connect to my website if I manually set up the
connection in Contribute. When I send a connection key we get an
error message that the username and password cannot be verified. I
have tried sending the key with the username and password included
in the key, also set it up so users have to enter the username and
    password themselves. Nothing works.
We set up a separate ftp account on our website that only
allows access to a specific folder.
We recently moved our website to a new hosting company
Network Solutions. We did not have any problems with Contribute
connection keys on our previous host. Any possible solutions would
    be appreciated.
