Connection Lost with keyboard

My PPC iMac G5 keeps saying "connection lost" with a keyboard displayed. The keyboard has new batteries, is paired, and connected. When this occurs no key on the keyboard will work. I can occasionally go to a text editor and get keys to work and then it's OK for a couple of minutes, then "connection lost" again. Does anyone have any thought as to what the problem might be?

Same problem here..
I have a Imac 27 also, OSX 10.6.7
The imac is about a year old..
Everything worked perfektly untill the FIRST BATTERY CHANGE.. (about 5 months after imac was bought )
the keyboard and the magic mouse is making a really hard time for me to do my work...
however, i had this issue for a while now, and apple dont wanna do anything about it..
butthe stranges thing is that,.. for about 3 months ago the magic mousestop doing the connection lost thingi..and works perfectly as normal..(strange)
and now only the keyboard is doing it  (batteries in keyboard and mouse allways 100% when i talk about this issue)
so.. bougth an Imac.. everything worked fine.. after 5 months keyboard and mouse starting to flipout..
and about 4 months after that the mouse is fine but keyboard is till flipping out! ( without me making any changes )
Still apple dont seem to care about this...
However i recomend "The Lightbulb conspirisey" - Docymentry film.
It is clear to me that apple is still using PLANED OBSOLESENS in there products,,
and they have no intrest in making sustainable products...
Making economic profit is way more relevent on apples agenda then making sustainable products..
I thought i was paying alot of EXTRA money for the apple products to get the perfection i need..
But noo, they are just masking the usual "PLANED OBSOLESENS" wich is a KEY ingrediens for expanding industries.
And i am very sad that apple dont give a F**** about atcually caring about people. rather then screwing them over...

  • Connection lost with DKU-2 USB cable for 6230

I got tired of trying to solve connectivity problems
with the bluetooth device and bought a new cable.
It seems that neither the Bluetooth or the Cable can transfer more than a few MegaBytes in one shot ("Connection to mobile phone lost").
I have upgraded to the newest 6230 firmware (05.35).
I'm Running Windows XP Home Edition SP2.
I don't think this is a PcSuite problem since this
error accurs when I use the usb drivers too.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you.

    Hi onearmfrog
Did you let PC Suite 6.83 update over 6.82 or did you uninstall it and Nokia Connectivity Driver first? I think remnants are left behind unless it is done manually and PC Suite Cleaner is used to clean up computer first.

  • Internet connection lost with EA6500 router

I'm using a fiber optic internet connection and a Linksys/Cisco EA6500 router, with unlimited internet plan. Usually (1 to 2 days), the internet connection is lost and the way to get it back is the radical way in IT: 1st: switch off the modem and the router and wait a couple of minutes; 2nd : switch on the modem and the router. I suspect that this very annoying problem is related to the router settings. Someone can help me in get over this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Nuno

With this type of scenario, this will show that a reset on the router is needed to stabilize the router’s performance. One isolation step that you can try is to connect the computer straight to the modem. In that way, you will be able to determine if the connection coming from the modem is stable. Another step that you can try is to adjust the router’s mtu size by using this link: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=efe3edfeced9436a9f13eeebc89f90c2_4031.xml&pid=80&r.... By doing so, the router’s intermittent internet connection problem can be resolved.  If in case that those steps will not improve the router’s internet connectivity, then you can consider returning and have that router replaced.

  • Internet connection lost with wired connection in hotel

I am in a NYC Hotel and was able to get an Internet connection on my MacBook (2 ghz intel core duo running 10.5.8) via the wifi network with extremely slow connection speed. They also offer Ethernet connection from the room so I tried that and got a very good connection upon restart. I was downloading content from the iTunes store and the connection was interrupted - Internet connection was lost. I tried redrafting again several times but to no avail. I went into network preferences and tried automatic location along with several others I have set up but cannot get it to re-connect. Built-in Ethernet is shown as connected and diagnostics shows Ethernet and network settings in green but ISP Internet and server are red. It configured using DHCP and IP address is 192.168.xx.xxx with subnet mask and router showing addresses as well. DNS Server is identical to IP address and Search Domains says "stayonline.net"
I have 2 other Ethernet connections showing on my locations that I believe are related to Parallels (some say Parallels Host-Guest & Parallels NAT and the others say Ethernet Adaptor (en2) & Ethernet Adaptor (en3)). I have tried making them inactive and re-starting but again to no avail. I don't know much about networking and just want to get my Internet connection working while I'm here. I am sending this from my iPhone and would appreciate any help you all can provide. Thanks,
    Allan

Sorry I meant restarting not redrafting (iPhone apparently doesn't like the word restart and changed it for me!)

  • Connection lost with MS Bluetooth Elite Mouse

    Hi all,
being this my first post, believe me I have been searching allover the place (and elsewhere) for some help but now I am just desperate to get an answer.
I purchased one moth ago a MS Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth. Setting up both, keyboard and mouse was straight forward but then the annoying problem began: The mouse works fine but when left unused for around 3 minutes it looses connection, but never restablishes it again unless I follow the set up procedure again. The keyboard just "wakes up" after pressing any key.
Before writing I have gone through all possible tests and done the following observation:
-It makes no difference if the mouse is defined as "favorite" or not.
-The mouse appears always as being "not paired". This seems logical to me as no code is entered during the set up process.
-Changing energy saving settings makes no difference
-If I logout the connection is restablished.
-In the login window, even if the connection gets lost, moving the mouse wakes it up as I would expect when logged in.
THe later two issues are for me the key point but, I have no clue what else can I do.
After all that and reading some of the entries done by other users, I am pretty sure this issue is OS related.
Any help or comment is very welcome

    Hello again dex:
You have been most thorough in your attempts to isolate the problem. I did search the knowledge base articles, but could find nothing that addressed your particular issue. Since it is a third party mouse, the usual disclaimers are made in the KB articles.
If you have contacted Microsoft (not an easy task) without getting a satisfactory solution, you might try getting the mouse replaced as it is new - while rare, a mouse, like anything else, can fail.
I have encountered pairing/sleep problems before in these forums. However, nothing that I can recall seems to apply to your situation.

  • Repeated connection/ connection lost with BT on No...

    Hi.
I use a Nokia 8800 (2 years old), Win XP SP3, newest PC Suite.
BT= Bluetooth is always on, supposed to sync when I come home (first connection!).
How come I see all minutes "connected=home...", minute later "disconnected home..."
This, I asume, is quite hard on the accu.
    Anything I can do?
    Thx,
    Mike
Edit: what I found out: this more often happens with a self created *.nth Theme (I opened an original, just changed the screensaver and background image, and installed).
Is it possible that a changed theme has another "looking-for-bluetooth" behavior than the original??

I don't have a solution but feel for you as I am going through the same thing.
After over 20 years with BT, I moved to Sky because it seemed sensible as I was getting TV package and Broadband was cheaper. I can only get 3mb with both companies. With the roll out of BT Infinity in my area, I changed back and had this installed last week. Spped went up to 32mb, can't complain about that.
On day 4, modem and hub appeared to be working but could not connect wired or wireless, engineers attended on day 5, 6, and twice on day 7. All said that it was a problem with BT software on my account.  I have spend HOURS on the telephone to BT over the past three days and they cannot find a solution to my problem. On day 6, I changed the email address in advance settings in the hub on their advice and managed to connect to the internet for 1hrs 45mins, before going down again. I have tried to connect several times today without success. I just don't know what the solution will be? What I do know is I have two teenagers that cannot use their xbox live accounts, one unhappy misses who cannot go on facebook and ebay and one daughter who is  tomorrow and cannot use her club penguin membership she wanted as a present! Thanks BT

  • BT HomeHub2 connection lost with iPhone- BTFON rel...

    Hi
I have a laptop that connects very happily with a BT HomeHub 2.
I also have an iPhone 3GS that does the same.
However, I recently downloaded the BTOFN app on the phone and used the OpenZone a few times.
On the phone, there is now no listing at all for my BT HomeHub under WiFi Settings. It has totally disappeared. I can still connect to BTFON networks sporadically.
Other people have had similar problems following downloading the BTFON app, but always their HomeHub still appears on the list of WiFi networks on the phone.
    I have tried:
    - switching the phone on and off. The HomeHub fails to appears on the Wi-Fi list.
    - on the phone, under Settings\Wi-Fi\Othe to set up another network and typed in the wireless network name and the wireless key, using WEP Security setting. I get the message 'Could not find the network 'BTHomeHub2-xxxx'.
    - on the phone, under Settings\Wi-Fi\Other to set up another network and typed in the wireless network name and the wireless key, using WAP Security setting. I get the message 'Failed to join BTHomeHub2-xxxx'.
    - deleting BTFON app on phone. The HomeHub fails to appears on the Wi-Fi list.
I have recently upgraded the software on the phone to 5.1.
(I assume that when I'm setting up a new WiFi network on the phone under Settings\Wi-Fi\Other, the password asked for is the Wireless Key? Or is it another password?)
Any help would be much appreciated.

Enabled Guest network and kept all the smprtphone as guest - Still facing issue Anyone have solution for this issue. Thanks.

    Router and Wired Configurations
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
If http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipv6 is niot an option on the router, select Local Connection Only.  Wireless Configurations
Ensure the default (linksys) SSID name is changed. Ensure that different SSID names are used between each WiFi 2.4/5Ghz radios for dual band routers. Can be anything and not something that's already in use by any neighbouring WiFi routers.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try Mixed mode, single mode G or N or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N or Mixed on 5Ghz?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions. Try channel 48 or 149 on 5Ghz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

  • Connection lost with VPN enabled

I have a server with two NICs, one public internet and one domain intranet. I'm trying to configure this server as a NAT and VPN "edge" device. I am able to configure it as NAT-only, and everything works perfectly. All computers on the private
network have internet access through it, and I'm able to ping it from outside computers.
When I change my NAT service to a "NAT and VPN" service (using RRAS  -> "configure and enable routing and remote access"), I lose the ability to ping that server from outside and when I try to connect to the VPN I get an error
"". It's like by configuring it as a VPN server it has blocked any kind of incoming connection, including those that it's designed for (VPN connections).
If I disable the Windows Firewall entirely, it starts working again. I've checked, and the Ping rule is allowed (the file/printer share echo one), and HTTPS/443 is as well (my VPN is a SSTP), so I don't understand why that would make a difference. Any thoughts
on why this might be happening?

    Hello,
I've been putting together a new domain network, and just about have it set except for one final issue. I have a Remote Access server that I have configured for SSTP VPN. It has two NICs, one public/internet facing and the other private/intranet facing.
On the network I also have a DNS/DHCP/ADDS server and a NAT router server that has a different public internet connection and acts as the network's default gateway.
The issue I'm having is with configuring the VPN server's network adapter settings. I have two scenarios:
    - configure private adapter with static IP address and manually entering the subnet/DNS (and leaving the gateway blank, since it also has a gateway on the public adapter). If I do this, then it won't let me configure a DHCP Relay Agent in RRAS, and although
I can connect to the VPN on a client, the client doesn't have internet access through the VPN.
    - configure private adapter as "obtain an IP address automatically". If I do this, then the DHCP Relay Agent configures itself properly, but for some reason when I try to connect to the VPN from the client I get an "Error 0x8007274C: A connection
attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time..."
I tested a work-around where I set the VPN server's private adapter to static IP, connected the client to the VPN, then changed the server's private adapter to "Obtain automatically", let it re-identify, and it worked fine (I had internet access
on the client after that). Obviously, that's not a usable solution though. Any ideas why neither of these configurations work properly, or perhaps suggestions of a different configuration that might?

  • Keyboard Connection Lost

I use an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (and cinema display) with my MBP at home. Lately, while I'm working, if the keyboard is unattended for a bit, it disconnects. A message ("Connection Lost", with a picture of the keyboard) displays briefly. A few key presses and a little patience are necessary to reestablish the connection (which is accompanied by a brief status message again). Why is this happening? And how can I make it stop? (I haven't been able to find any log entries generated by this behavior.)
Message was edited by: Allan Leedy

Just as a follow-up: I tried the suggested re-creation of the .plist file and re-setup of the BT keyboard; those ideas didn't work. Meanwhile, I've found this link: http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1491345&start=90&tstart=0
What's suggested toward the end of that fairly long thread is that there is a hardware problem in the battery compartment that causes a loss of continuity in the battery power circuit. This problem is solved by putting a small ball of aluminum foil into the battery compartment before putting in the batteries. I'm going to try that and will report here later on whether it works. Just in case anyone else encounters this problem. . . .

  • HTTP Stream stops after instant encoder connection lost

    Hi,
We use amazon cloud front and Open Broadcaster to livestream also using jwplayer. Some time we experience internet problem on our local system and encoder lost its connection to server but it just took 1 or 2 second. RTMP stream not effecting by this problem and all clients works fine but mobile client (iphone, ipad) stuck last 10 second before connection lost and playing this 10 second every time when i open stream on my tablet.
The only solution that i have find, deleting these folder and restarting server.
    mnt/application/livepkgr/streams
    mnt/application/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent
I use this FMS url "rtmp://<server-adress>/livepkgr?adbe-live-event=liveeven"t and Play path/stream key is "kamera5"
Url for jw payer is, http://<server-adress>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/kamera5/event.m3u8
Also, I figured out today the .m3u8 file not updating after connection lost with new .ts file, it is always same when i download it every time.
How can i setup the server to play http after instant connection losts?
    Thank you.

    Hi
Is the encoder configured to use Absolute Time Code (ATC)
This is necessary for HLS and HDS. It is required for smooth transition between different stream bitrates and in cases of encoder failure and/or restart.
This could be the root of your issue when the connection between encoder and publishing server is interupted.
    Bit more detail:
ATC comes as timestamps within the header of Messages Packet format for the RTMP.
RTMP message packets format has been defined here http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/rtmp/pdf/rtmp_specifi cation_1.0.pdf
Basically the timestamp field in Type0 chunk must be a absolute time based on some wall clock.
Timestamp field is interpreted as integral number with least count as 1 millisecond and it should be always increasing.
This is how the timestamps would look with following events from encoder
    Without ATC
    With ATC
    Publishing start
    Publishing start
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 0 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 12000 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 2 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 12002 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 4 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 12004 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 5 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 12005 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 6 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 12006 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 8 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 12008 ms
    Publishing Stop -
    Publishing Stop -
    Wait for 1000 seconds
    Wait for 1000 seconds
    Publishing Start again
    Publishing Start again
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 0 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 13008 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 3 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 13011 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 4 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 13012 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 6 ms
Sending rtmp video message, timestamp 13014 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 7 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 13015 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 8 ms
Sending rtmp audio message, timestamp 13016 ms
So here timestamp is the timestamp defined for Message header of the RTMP protocol. It is integral number of milliseconds. As you notice here, in case of ATC based timestamps, they are based on actual wall clock, always increasing.
Can you check on the encoder side that ATC is configured ?
    Thanks.

We need to disconnect and reconnect physically the USB cable to be able to reopen a reference to the PM. We have tried on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 machine both 64bits with the same result. It occur on multiple PC.
We tired with powered USB hub, and directly connected to the PC with the same result.
I made a VI to reproduce the problem. It's attached to this message.
