Connection ports for Applications

Hi everyone
I have a question, we are installing BO but the consultants are connected via VPN, we have communications issues and I don't find the ports for:
WebIntelligence
Dashboard Desing (Crystal Xcelsius)
Information Desing Tool
Someone knows where can I find the ports?
Best regards

Hi Gilberto,
I'm assuming you're still getting this issue...
You'll need to lock down a number of the Processing servers in the CMC, so that they use a specific port.  Once this is done, then you'll have to open those ports on the firewall.
The following servers will need the request port, as it's called, setting in the CMC:
CMS - Uses 6400 for the initial handshake
Input/Output FRS
Webi Processing Server
Dashboard servers
I'm assuming that you are using BI 4.x, so you will also need to set the request port for the Adaptive Processing servers that you should have split out.
If this doesn't work, then it could be something that denied/stopped via the VPN, i.e.: if you use a jump server or something along those lines.
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers,
Kevin

  • Open port for application

    Hi
    I have just installed Yosemite OS X 10.10.1 and realised one of the application stopped synchronising data with my iPhone 4. I have asked the technical support for help and been told that application needs Bonjour and ports from 49152 up to 65535 to work. I have used Network Utility and found out that ports are blocked and nothing get through to my router. This is why applications on iPhone and Mac cannot see each other.
    I have tested syncing by temporally disabling the firewall in Mac and applications eventually got connected.
    My question is, how to open, if I can, a specific range of ports for an individual application in Mac? In future, I would simply like to avoid disabling the firewall as not very secure work around.
    Kind regards.
    Zb

    Why do you even have the firewall enabled? If you have NAT enabled to distribute local IP addresses, then you don't need the firewall unless you are being specifically attacked/hacked.
    You would need to specifically open ports via Airport Utility or remove whatever you are protecting from the firewall.

  • Why does port scan show an open port for application I've never had?

    I don't currently and never have used Bacula to backup my Macbook, but for some reason when I do a portscan it often shows a Bacula file daemon being open on port 9102.  It also comes up in Netstat as listening, even with my firewall blocking all unnecessary connections, sharing turned off (all), and an Airport ex in front of it also secured.  I also cannot find any related files etc. on my machine after a thorough search.  Despite my best google and support searches, I couldn't find anyone with the same problem.  Is this reason for concern? Either way why would it be there despite it not being ever used on my Mac?  I am not well versed in networking, only know enough to get myself in trouble, so thanks in advance for any help.

    Ok, I ran a port scan on 9102 and it show it's not responding, but assigned to (bacula-fd)
    So what it appears to be is Bacula ( a legitimate program) uses this port, much like Screen Sharing uses port 5900, not necessarily that it's installed on your machine.
    It's not uncommong to have open ports, it's so if you ever install the program or use a service it can gain access through the Firewall. You can change that of course to close up everything except certain ports for certain programs.
    Now that the firewall is App based, if you don't have the app listed, how do you deny it access?
    Well if the program isn't installed on the machine, it can't respond if the port is open or closed.
    Simply enable your Firewall and allow the programs you do have and want to access your machine to connect in the Advanced settings.
    There is also NoobProof and WaterRoof if you need a GUI/simplicity to enact more complex features of the command line firewall. Block IP addresses and everything. However read up before you mess around, Apple has everythign set up nicely and there are very few successful attacks on Mac's.
    If you don't know what your doing, you can actually do more harm opeing up your machine to poential attack.
    If your more paranoid, then install LittleSnitch, it's a outgoing firewall and notification software with pop-up window to allow/deny on a per program or request basis. You'll be quite shocked how much is going out in the background without your knowledge.

  • Ports for applications (RTMT,CIPC ect)

    Hi all,
    I need to open ports in vpn connection for CIPC ,RTMT , historical reporting, and Jabber .
    Anyone knows which port I need to open ?

    Table 6 Signaling, Media, and Other Communication Between Phones and Cisco Unified Communications Manager of the following link provides the port usage details
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/port/10_0_1/CUCM_BK_T537717B_00_tcp-port-usage-guide-100/CUCM_BK_T537717B_00_tcp-port-usage-guide-100_chapter_01.html
    For RTMT, 8443 is the port that the application will use to listen to the server by default. However, it is configurable as per the RTMT admin guide

  • AIX 5.3 to 6.1 Upgrade (32 to 64 bit porting for application)

    Hi,
    We are facing a porting issue while trying to compile a binary as 64 bit using the 64 bit Oracle client library.(libclntsh.a).
    Warning while linking with the 64 bit library is as below:-
    (ld): resolve
    ld: 0711-228 WARNING: Duplicate symbols were found while resolving symbols.
    The following duplicates were found:
    Symbol Source-File(Object) OR Import-File{Shared-object}
    .bcopy {apps/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1/lib/libclntsh.a[shr.o]}
    ** Duplicate ** moveeq.s(/usr/lib/libc.a[moveeq_64.o])
    Kindly suggest a solution for the above asap.
    Regards,
    Dipjyoti Ghosh

    Hi,
    Finally got the solution for the problem faced.
    Since many of the system calls viz : memcpy,strcpy internally use the bcopy function which is part of libc.a as well as libclnstsh.a.
    Hence re-ordering the compiler flags for libraries putting -lc before -lclnsth resolves the issue since the bcopy is able to resolve its definition to libc.a.
    One more similar issue is related to functions present in libCrt.o which result in undefined symbols incase the flag -brtl is being used along with libclntsh.a library of oracle.
    In this case removing -brtl flag resolves the issue. -brtl is not used in cases compilation is clean and used incase undefined symbols are found
    at runtime. More about this flag can be found

  • How to forward/open ports for WRT54G?

    Hi. I recently bought a WRT54G because my old router was destroyed by lightening and thunder. I have managed to set it up, and got the interent itself to work with static IP adress (192.168.1.101 for my PC).
    However, even though I have tried to forward/open ports for applications like uTorrent and DC++ as well as Limewire, I have no luck. When I test if the ports are indeed opened, I get the result that they are not. Here are how my port forward setting looks like for utorrent. The port in the settings image is of course the same as in uTorrent.
    http://www.pictub.com/quickupload/01/untitled-1mb4wd.jpg
    I can't seem to open any ports, even though I have followed tutorials like the ones at portforward.com. I have the latest firmware for my router, as I flashed it when I got it. Help .

    Yes, I did .
    Anyways, look what I found in the uTorrent FAQ:
    1.7 Special note for users with Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS routers, there are severe problems with them when running any P2P application
    To fix it, they say one has to flash with a unofficial firmware, but I will rather get the money back and buy another router tomorrow. Thanks for the help anyways .

  • Do we need two ports for establishing one connection to EJB from swing clie

    Hi all,
    I have an application which uses Java Swing client and accesses an EJB to connect to the server.
    I am connecting to the EJB using iiop://server-ipaddress:port.
    It is required for me to open the firewall to access the above specified ip address and port number. Even though, I am able to access the specific ip address and port number, I am not able to establish the connection.
    I tried out to check the porblem and I came to know that, this aplication is trying to open another port also on the same IP address.
    I am just wondering whether we need two ports for one connection.
    Does anybody face this type of problem?

    If you need to access on two ports, you would have to open both :)

  • Change http port for Adobe Connect Pro?

    I'm running Adobe Connect Pro 7.5 and would like to change the HTTP port Adobe Connect Pro uses.  I've changed this from 80 to 90 in the Adobe Connect Pro console and saved.  Then restarted my Adobe Connect Pro application.  When I go to the URL http:\\<servername>:90 I get a "Connot Connect to Webpage" error.  If I change it back to 80 the URL http:\\<servername>:80 works.
    Does anyone know how I can change the port for  Adobe Connect Pro 7.5?  Is there another step I need to do on my Windows 2003 server?

    I've had to "cache" uploaded videos by playing them shortly before the audience will see them. For me, the cache holding time when using Adobe's servers is about 5 minutes.

    Hi, I'm using a Mac Pro here. I am trying to connect it with my NAS hard drive. But i could not connect to it because i have an ethernet which connects to the intranet in my company and Air Port for the internet and it could not detect the the ip address after i input the correct address on "Connect to Server" window. Please help! Urgent! Thanks

    I did not say it is not possible.
    I said if your company networks are monopolizing both ports, you should talk to them about what options are available.
    Maybe you can get the company Intranet over wireless if you change some configuration items such as Subnet Mask.
    Maybe you can get on the Internet over Ethernet.
    You really need to ask them, and do not let them blow you off because you have a Mac. If they balk, ask them how it would be done on a PC (becasue it will be the same on a Mac).

  • Connection pool for big web application

    hi,
    i am developing an application which had more then 20 classes and each class use databases.
    i made an connection bean and use it for database connectivity but as my code expand and my application run for longer time i start getting error of connection limit.
    then i start using connection pool. in this i start using one connection for whole application.
    now i want that my
    1-whole application use that connection pool and i dont need to initialize it in different classes.
    2- The main problem is that may at a time i have to connect database with different user and these connections should remain active.
    my application will be used for enterprise level and remain active for months .
    following is my connection pool
    public class ConnectionPool implements Runnable

    public class BookPool extends ConnectionPool {
    private static BookPool pool = null;
    private BookPool(...) {
    super(...); // Call parent constructor
    public static synchronized BookPool getInstance() {
    if (pool == null) {
    pool = new BookPool(...);
    return(pool);
    }if some one want to use it for whole application then use connection pool by BookPool,
    now main point is i m not getting the BookPool class could some one explain it to me???
    and second by using it can i connect to different users of DB at a time, if cant then how i can.
    its good if some one explain it by little code.

    If this is a real, serious application and not just for practice, then why are you trying to write your own connection pool implementation?
    You'd better use Jakarta's Commons Pool and Commons DBCP, which are widely used, well tested implementations of connection pools.
    If this is a web application running in a J2EE container, you'd normally configure the connection pool in the container. The container will register the pool in JNDI and you'd look it up in JNDI from your application.
    Here's some documentation on how to do that in Tomcat 5.5: JNDI Datasource HOW-TO

  • HT5299 can i connect my sony smart TV via thunderbolt port for better resolution.

    can i connect my sony smart TV via thunderbolt port for better resolution.

    You can connect the TV via the Thunderbolt port. However if the result is "better resolution" would depend on what resolution you have now (I'm guessing you mean with the HDMI adapter?)
    I'm myself connecting the Mini Mac with a Thunderbolt->VGA adapter to my TV and get full 1920x1080 resolution.
    Have you checked your Display settings? Make sure mirroring is off, then check what resolutions you can get on the current connection.
    Please return with some more data.

    Hi,
    Based on your description, my understanding is that you want connect SharePoint Online using PowerShell.
    Please make sure that the following software is installed.
    Windows Management Framework 3.0
    SharePoint Online Management Shell
    And then, open the SharePoint Online Management Shell and use the Script below to test
    whether it works.
    $User = "[username]@[tenant].onmicrosoft.com"
    $Pass = "[password]"
    $creds = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential($User,(ConvertTo-SecureString $Pass -AsPlainText -Force));

    I once created a connection pool programatically with Apache DBCP API. It didnt took more than 10 lines. Unforchunetly I dont have to code with me now.
    But If I remember right there is a sample code for that in the Apache Commans DBCP documentation.
