Connection Prob

Connection ProbT Hello
I have bought the Zen V 2Gb player , I got it fully charged but the comp wont connect to it
Recovery mode didn't help, I checked the FAQ here but all of the links inside leads to an error
TheDevice Manager shows that yellow exclamation mark, its properties shows error code 28 ("The drivers for this device are not installed. ") and when I try to reinstall the driver and point it to the installation cd I get this message:
"An error occured during the installation of this device
A service installation section in this INF is invalid. "
My system is Xp SP2, WMP 0
Help please?

Hello NightTiger,
Welcome to Creative forums!
Open the device manager again and this time select Uninstall instead of updating the driver. Unplug your ZEN V then reboot. After rebooting, try reconnecting the player. See if that helps.

  • Airport connection probs with Mac Pro and 10.4.8  too.

    This prob is not just related to iMacs or MacBooks as published in the knowledge base doc. I have exactly the same prob with my 2.66 GHz Mac Pro. I have to reconnect this beast to my wlan router manually every time.
    PLZ Apple fix this asap!

    I had a similar problem which I've fixed!
    I have four machines here which can connect to my Netgear DG834N via Aiport. (I say can because they normally connect via ethernet.) My MacBook Pro always used to be fine when connected wirelessly but recently, not aware of any changes I've made, it connects for about 10 seconds then disconnects. All other machines are fine and hold the connection.
    This is what I tried before finding my solution:
    1) Deleted all references to the network in the keychain and remade them.
    2) Created another user to try
    3) Changed channels on the router even though I can't see any neighbour's networks.
    4) Made sure computer and router were up to date with firmware/software.
    I'm assuming that it has to be a computer problem as the PowerMac, iMac and iPod Touch have no issues at all. However, the cure was in the router.
    I run with SSID broadcast turned off, WPA2 encryption and MAC address filtering. Allowing broadcast of the SSID cures my problem. Turn it off and the computer connects then drops it ten seconds later. Turn broadcast on and it maintains the connection. I've tried it all afternoon, leaving it connected for about 30 minutes at a time before turning SSID broadcast off again. Works every time! Broadcast SSID - fine, no broadcast - drops after ten seconds.
    Now, if only I knew why! And why only the laptop?

  • If you have a Slingbox and an Xbox 360, this will solve 360 connection prob

    I got my TC on Wednesday of this week and starting hooking everything up. I had a PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, Printer, and Slingbox Pro that I wanted to hook up. Slingbox, PS3, Wii, and Printer all work fine, but the Xbox would not cooperate as many of you have found out. So, I took my old linksys router that I was not going to use anymore, turned off its wireless functionality, so it simply acted like a signal pass through with multiple ethernet outputs. I unhooked the Slingbox from the part I speak of below, and attempted to use the linksys to split an incoming signal to the Slingbox and the Xbox 360, which ended up working like a charm.
    When I bought my Slingbox, I knew it was not going to be able to be close to my router, so I purchased one of their additional products (links below to products) call the Sling Link Turbo. Most of you are probably aware of this but for those of you that are not, it is a neat device that sends your internet signal through the electrical wiring in your house to a different location where it is plugged in another wall outlet. The catch is that both plugs have to be directly into a wall, it cannot go into a power strip or surge protector. I had this product by default on Wednesday and it helped me fix the problem, so it might benefit those of you that are interested to pick one up, the single port is not that expensive.
    http://www.slingmedia.com/go/slt
    http://www.slingmedia.com/go/slt4
    Moving on now, I connected the Slink Link Turbo to the back of the TC and plugged it in. Then I plugged its counterpart into the wall behind my TV so it could sit next to the Slingbox on top. I then ran an ethernet cord from the Sling Link Turbo to the WAN port on the Linksys router behind the TV. Then I ran an ethernet cord from the output ports on the linksys to the Xbox 360 and another cord to the Slingbox.
    This is where things got tricky because I had to forward the ports in order for the slingbox to work. I set the TC to reserve the IP 192.168.0.200 for the Linksys router. I set my linksys router to be have a static IP at 192.168.1.200 (not a typo) and I set the DNS Server to 192.168.0.1, which is the TC's router IP. Then I set the port forwarding on the TC to open port 5001 to 192.168.0.200 on all ports, Public and Private UDP and TCP. Then I set the Linksys router to open port 5001 to IP 192.168.1.253, which is the Slingbox.
    Do not set any static IP for the Xbox 360, it works great without it and if you set it it probably is not going to work.
    Now, hold down the reset button on the Slingbox for 20+ seconds to reset it completely, run through setup, takes about 3-5 minutes, and make the IP address 192.168.1.253 and leave the other settings as is. If it will not work, change the router to either IP 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, whichever one it did not show up as wanting to be. Then make sure the port is 5001 and you should be good to go on the Slingbox even remote viewing. If you have problems here, pop me an e-mail.
    Now for the Xbox 360, plug it in, turn it on, test connection settings, it should work perfectly on all accounts, mine has so far.
    I now have a PS3, Wii, Printer, Xbox 360, and Slingbox Pro running on the N connection, I did not have to downgrade the settings to b/g for the Xbox 360 to work. However, my linksys router is old and only supports G, so I'm not sure if my N signal translates through to the Slingbox and Xbox, but they still work great. And the rest of my house can use the N signal with no problem.
    If you have any problems please e-mail me and I will try to help as much as I can.
    Good luck.

    I have a question which I'm hoping you can answer. My dad lives in the states and has a slingbox connected. I live in another country and watch american tv through internet (i.e. through the slingbox he set up). I also have an xbox 360, which is connected to the TV in the living room. Do you know if it's possible to wirelessly stream the computer content (i.e. the slingbox content) to the tv in the living room through the xbox?
    Thanks

  • At a loss: Audigy2 ZS Platinum & Klipsch DD5.1 connection prob

    I have read many forums, posts, etc. related to SPDIF, optical and digital out connection between Audigy2 ZS Platinum and Klipsch DD5. decoder and can't find a solution to my problem. I would like to play MP3's stereo x2 or 5. through my DD5. connected to Klipsch Promedia 5. speakers, all I can get is front L and R with nothing coming from the rear speaker. I have tried each of the three digital outputs, I have set SPDIF passthrough, digital output only, 5. as well as 2/2. speaker settings, and have toggled Enable CMSS 3D in the EAX console, also have Prologic enabled on the DD5. with no success. Does anyone have any suggestions? When the Promedia's are connected to the analog connections on the Audigy2 they sound great, MP3's through all speakers with CMSS 3D enabled, but I am using the Klipsch DD5. connected to my T.V., DVD etc. as my home theatre and would like to connect my PC this way as well. I have tried 3.5mm splitter on the back of the speakers and connected to the Audigy2 as well as the DD5. but this seems to cause a significant hum, interference etc. Any ideas?

    Saku746,
    What you are experiencing is normal for Digital connection such as coaxial/optical. You can get more information from the article at knowledgebase.
    http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=2&sid=5764
    Check your speaker whether it support Dolby Pro Logic II or other upmix matrix. If it does, then you can enable that to provide matrix of 5. to the speaker.

  • Zen Vision M 30gb Connection Prob

    Hello,?After using my Zen for months without any problems, yesterday, I couldn't make my player recognized by either Windows Media Player or Zen Vision:M Media Explorer. I made a big search on the internet, found too many posts, followed the instructions and nothing happened. - My operating system is SP2 installed Windows XP.- My Zen is fully charged.- I tried all 6 USB inputs.- I also tried three different USB cables.- In Device Manager, I can see my Zen with the name "Creative Zen Vision:M" under the Portable Devices category. No problems, no question marks, no conflicts...- I made the "Permissions for Everyone" change from Registry. People recommended me to install the latest firmware but it also says "your device is not connected". Then in another forum, I noticed that some people are experiencing problems with Media Player . I tried to uninstall it but couldn't do that, too! I tried to rollback the drivers, nothing happened. I tried to delete the files and registry keys, nothing happened. I tried to install Media Player 0 on , of course nothing happened. I want my Zen back! Your suggestions will be very much appreciated. )?Thanks,Ozan.

    branbran,
    Based on your description, it would be advisable to get in touch with support. Check the "Support" folder on your installation CD for Customer Support contact details.

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra connection prob

    I already tried searcing the forums, And I didn't come across anything like this, And anything I came across that was similar I did as was suggested and it didn't help. anyways, onto the problem...:
    I'm using Windows XP by the way.
    I just got a new Zen Xtra a few days ago because I had to return my first one because the harddri've crashed, so I took this one home, loaded my music onto it and it was fine. Today I went to load more music onto it and my computer started lagging really badly, I use Realplayer to put my music onto the player and when I clicked into it, It would freeze as it was starting and I'd have to kill the program.
    Then I tried going into My Computer to go into the Nomad explorer, Except my computer took about 5 minutes to find itself, And then it only found 'Desktop' and 'My Computer' which, 'My Computer' had nothing in it. So I went into desktop and that fixed the problem with the harddri'ves showing up, Except once I get into Nomad Explorer it says my player isn't connected.
    I (physically) disconnected and reconnected my player while in Nomad Exploer but it's still a no-go.
    I cleaned up the disk on my player and rebooted it, I used a different cable and tried all my USB ports. What do you suggest I do?
    I really need some help and if it doesn't get fixed I'm not getting another replacement, I'll have to get a different brand.Message Edited by spring90 on 08-07-2006 04:43 PM

    Ok... I think I figured it out. I finally got into the recovery mode. I let the battery sit out of the mp3 player for a while, hoping that there is a capacitor that would run out of power. I put the battery back in and got into recovery mode. I ran disk clean up. Nothing changed. I had the same problem I first started off with. So I took the battery out again for an hour. Came back, and got back into recovery mode. I reinstalled the OS. Everything seems to be working fine.
    I hope that anyone having a similar problem with this mp3 player can keep this in the back of their mind if they cannot get into recovery mode due to a boot up and shut down problem.

  • Connectivity Prob in Or8 Personal &...

    Hello,
    I have two separate problems which I have tried and got
    tired to solve and now in need of your help...
    No1: Problem with Oracle8 (Personal)
    Loaded Personal Oracle8 (8.o.3.) and Oracle Developer
    release 2.1. Now there is a problem in connecting them through
    Sql*net. { It was fine with Oracle 7.3). Is Oracle 8 compatible
    with the latest developer ?
    No2: Problem with SQL * Net
    In a new m/c P3 with 4GB, NT server and W'95 in each nodes.
    loaded Oracle8 w-group server part in server and cleint part in
    all the 7 clients. I was trying to connect (for sql*plus) from
    each clients but in some while working with SQL * NET Easy
    Configuration there is a problem,
    "Exception Violation JAVA.EXE"
    Dr Watson error"
    Please help me.
    * I would like OTN members to give me a clear statement wether
    Oracle 8 (Personal) is Compatible with the Developer

    Mr. Manoj Kumar
    1. Developer 2.1 and ORACLE8 Personal Edition
    Developer 2.1 client is compatible with Oracle 8 server. However,
    you will find that SQL*Plus connecting to database without even
    giving connect string. But it is not the same with Developer 2.1.
    That is because, for SQL*Plus client connect string is optional
    and it uses BEQ-LOCAL automatically. For developer2 connect
    string is a must.
    Also, it depends on which SQL*NET clients you use( like
    plus33.exe or plus80.exe etc). The safe bet is to install both
    SQL*NET2 with corresponding adaptor (TCP/IP for example) and
    NET80 with adaptor AND then have similar TNSNAMES.ORA files in
    both $ORACLE_HOME\NET80\ADMIN and $ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN
    directories.
    I've this following configuration working in my Win 95 PC with
    both oracle 8 and developer 2.1.
    File : SQLNET.ORA
    NAME.DEFAULT_ZONE = world
    NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = world
    USE_DEDICATED_SERVER = on
    #sqlnet.authentication_services = (NONE)
    SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME = 0
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, HOSTNAME)
    File : LISTENER.ORA
    SAVE_CONFIG_ON_STOP_LISTENER = TRUE
    LISTENER =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT =
    1521))
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = oraclePC)
    (ORACLE_HOME = C:\orawin95)
    (SID_NAME = ORCL)
    TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = ADMIN
    File : TNSNAMES.ORA
    BEQ-LOCAL.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = BEQ)(PROGRAM = oracle80)(ARGV0 =
    oracle80ORCL)(ARGS =
    '(DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=BEQ)))'))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = ORCL)
    TCP-LOOPBACK.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = ORCL)
    Note: If you have configured your PC where oracle8 is installed,
    for an IP address, then create one more TNS address node with
    that IP address.
    Check your listener and database connectivity status with
    commands
    C:\ORAWIN95\BIN\> LSNRCTL80 STATUS
    C:\ORAWIN95\BIN\>TNSPING80 TCP-LOOPBACK
    Now you must be able to connect developer to database using
    USER/PASSWORD@TCP-LOOPBACK
    Regards

    adikai,
    You might want to try uninstalling the MTP device entry in Device Manager and let your system redetect the player again. If this does not help, please get in touch with support for further assistance.

  • Muvo TX FM weird connection prob

    Hy everybody! Im from Germany, but bought my MUVO 256 TX FM over the internet about a year ago, and it worked quite well all this time, untill last week!
    The weird thing is that the player works just fine, I can listen to the music already stored inside, but when I connect it to any computer (I tried about 5 different now), there is no response at all!! It is not even recognized as 'new hardware' or 'other hardware' in the device manager!!
    However, the player shows the tipical "connected" screen when I plug it in!
    Someone Help me!! XD
    And Thanks for at least trying

    It should be in the manual... but basically you connect the player to the PC and it should appear as a dri've letter in Windows Explorer. You then copy supported audio files e.g. WMA, MP3, to the player as the dri've letter. Once copied you disconnect the player and the songs should be there and available to play.

    if i understand you question, i don't think this is possible, since the Connection interface (and basically all of the related jdbc interfaces) aren't Serializable.. so they can't be sent over the wire to your client(s).
    However, you could feasibly write some server side connection pool, and some server side facade which will allow clients to submit queries (either SQL String's or however you want to do it - obviously a more elegant solution involves a series of classes which dynamically create sql based on query criteria), then the server can grab a connection, execute the query, cycle through the results and populate some result object of your creation and send that back over the wire to your client(s).

  • Zen Extra to pc connection prob

    I've been using my zen extra for a while until suddenly when I connected it to my pc it wasn't recognized. My pc made this sound that means that the connection didn't work or something like that. The Nomad explorer in "my computer" also said that it was not connected. I tried downloading a new driver (non of them worked) and re-installing the stuff that was on the disc it came with. That obviously didn't work either. I was then told by a friend to do the clean disk thing, which didn't do anything. I don't know what is going on so some help would be greatly appreciated.

    I also have problems with my ZEn 8GB. I believe the software is not up to par and the stuff from Creative is not very well done.
    Within a few minutes with my IPOD Nano, I was off and rochin' with firmware AND software updates - no flippin' issues like I have had with this ZEN 8GB.
    To bad it is a present for my son
    !!! Might be buying him an Apple product as well so I don't spend precious time figuring out how to get around the Creative software and firmware issues!!
    Good luck to you!

  • Wireless router connection probs..

    Currently using imac intel core duo, 2 gigs ram, 250 gig hard drive.
    My PC has the main internet connection upstairs, it has a wireless router that provides the downstairs computers with connection.
    The network set up , upstairs, is called ''home''. From my imac in the basement, 2 floors below, i cant seem to sustain a good enough signal. We set up no wireless security and no password requirement to access our wireless network, but all of a sudden, a password is required. I heard it was easy for someone to get onto a wirelss non secure network and throw a password on and claim it for your own? I belive u need to reset your wireless router than go to the original creators website and create security? Until that has been done, my signal status has been set to default, and so is the computer directly beside mine(right beside) . This computer is set to default becuase the upstairs one has password, but it is sustaining a great signal on default, yet mine can never reach past 2/5 bars. Sometimes its back and forth from 4 bars to 2 bars, but there is never a sustained , good signal.
    Is there something i can do to enhance the signal im getting? Something i can buy? (incoming signal enhancer?) First thing i thaught is, well your ofcourse not going to get a steady signal when its on default, but howcome the computer beside mine is? Is it a firewall thing?
    Anyways, if you know anything about setting up security on a wireless router or anything to enhance my incoming signal, or anything to help me, i would greaty appreciate it.
    -As im sure you can tell, im not a massive techy, im a noob to this stuff, please be gentle.

  • JWS database connection probs

    Hi,
    I've written a simple jdbc lookup application to run under Java Web Start. It runs fine as a (non Java Web Start) stand alone application. I've deployed it to Tomcat 4.0, having signed the jar file. The application runs under Web Start but when I try to connect to the database, I get the following error.
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.connect(OracleDriver.java:345)
    at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)
    at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)
    at mypackage1.JDBCFrame.jButton2_actionPerformed(JDBCFrame.java:211)
    The connection details are as follows:
    <code>
    void jButton2_actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
    try{
    String connection = jTextField2.getText();
    if (connection == null || connection.equals("")){
    connection = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@eddie:1521:eddie";
    jTextArea2.append("Connecting\n");
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection(connection, "eddie", "eddie3");
    // Create Oracle DatabaseMetaData object
    DatabaseMetaData meta = conn.getMetaData();
    </code>
    But, as the code works as a stand alone, I don't think this is where the error resides.
    Has anybody ideas why I'm getting the error?
    Thanks in advance,
    Eddie

    Hi all,
    Just a quick update. Problem was that I'd not properly signed all the relevant resources. Once done, everything worked fine.
    Good guide for JWS & jarsigning is Ian Darwin, "Java Cookbook".
    Cheers,
    Eddie
