Connection Problem: Can connect through Skype but browsers dont' work
Here's the hardware that I'm working on:
Gateway T-6311 Notebook
Intel Core 2 Duo processor
I have set up an Airport utility on the PC and was able to set up wireless connection to the Airport Extreme with no issues. The problem that I now can only connect to the internet through Skype (I am able to receive files and talk to people), but my browsers Firefox and IE are not able to browse the internet. I called my internet provider, and they were not able to help me.
Any suggestions?
Perhaps I should provide a little bit more background. I currently have 2 computers, the first one Dell desktop (has XP) and the second one, brand new Gateway (has Vista Home) that I got a couple of days ago. I have just moved to a new apartment. In the previous apartment I also had a AirPort Extreme and it was working perfectly with my Dell and PowerBook G4. The interesting thing is that now that I moved and got a new provider and a new modem my Dell (which worked perfectly in my previous apartment) as well as my brand new Gateway have the same issue in terms of not being able to connect to the internet via browsers but they are able to use Skype and even use torrent clients to download torrents.
My initial hunch is that the problem lies in the TCP/IP, DHCP, settings. However, I have no idea even where to begin tweaking those settings.

i just update my iPhone which was previously jailbreaked when i update it after downloading all the file it start to show the apple logo for a moment and it went and completely turned off i tried to connect through iTunes but it doesn't show any iPhone connected to itunes

My Ipod touch 5th gen is connected to wifi but internet doesnt work on it. It is showing full connectivity but when i try using itunes or safari, nothing loads.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

It has been on this black screen with the apple logo and some small white writing at the top of the screen for many hours. I've tried rebooting it and connecting to iTunes but nothing has worked.

I have a 4th generation ipod classic (click wheel) and it's giving me a sad ipod error as well as not mounting in itunes... I hear a clicking inside when it is connected to power but nothing is working. Help!
You won't believe this but a friend of mine (who happens to be an Apple Genius) told me to put a towel or cloth on a sturdy countertop (I know this may sound weird) but hold the selct button (in the center) and menu part of the wheel at the same time until an Apple logo comes up on the screen and then quickly turn the ipod on it's side and wack it on the counter where the towel is so as not to damage anything cosmetically. It seems the clicking is the hard drive reader is stuck and this dislodges it. Mine works now (no clicking) and all seems to be well again. Who knew?

My camera works with the photobooth and with skype but does not work with other applications like the "lolcam" from facebook or the " faceonthe hole" application. Can anyone help?
There was a issue with school computers being used to spy on kids in their bedrooms, Mac's were involved.
So Apple most likely tightened the API's to only select, trustworthy companies as not to abuse the web cam access priviledge.
If you want to use a web cam with these other programs and services, you'll likely have to buy a third party USB one, so you can manually disconnect it.
There isn't a way to physcially disconnect the built in web cam on Mac's without busting open the machine. -
Having trouble getting Skype to work. It did when I first got the computer about a yr ago but then quit. I've trashed and reinstalled the program and set the preferences to allow Skype but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

Have you managed to install it once? If so, just repeat that same process when you do it twice. You need a serial number to activate the installation. Serial numbers consist of 24 numbers, grouped as 6 sets of four numbers.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you have a SATA controlled hard drive. Apparently, there's some kind of bug with SATA disks and Vista and Quicktime/itunes video...and possibly Nvidia is involved as well.
The workaround is sticking the video on a flash drive in order to play it (because that avoids the SATA controller and thus bypasses the issue). It's a crappy workaround, IMO...and I'm not spending another cent on iTunes videos until the issue is actually fixed. -
When i bought my iPhone and my iPad they both were on iOS 7.0.2 i updated them shortly after thinking the new iOS 7.0.4 was better. i see its not but they both worked great with iTunes before and after the update. My question is why is my iPhone not connecting to iTunes? it will not connect through USB or wifi and i know that the setting to do that is turned on. my iPad connects through iTunes through wifi but not USB. This isnt making any sense but i wanna know is this a iTunes issue? or is it my phone and iPad??
This can sometimes be the result of a faulty/damaaged USB sync cable. Do you have another cable you could test it out with?

Well anyways, sounds like it's in recovery mode. You'll need to perform a restore through iTunes on the computer.
