Connection problem curve 8900

hi
i got a new o2 branded curve 8900, i set it up and it is working. but sometimes the connection went of and i have to make a  reset to get back the connection. mostly after i turned off the wlan, but still edge is running or in installed or deinstalled a software. i have also a bold 8100 with same simcard running and never had this problems.
its running with a prepaid card from german o2. as i said i had the same card in the bold 8100 without any problems, also with my turkcell card in turkey, no problem, only with the curve 8900.
i checked the service books. in the bold their are non, in the curve several.
do anybody knows a way to solve this problem. i love this phone, but this problem drives me crazy.
i send now a sms and the connection was gone also
thx
alexander

  • Enable Cookie/Wifi connection for curve 8900

    Hi,
Anybody know how to enable cookie for curve 8900? I've tried clearing cache history already but no luck.... I can't access to gmail, hotmail and yahoo mail due to this error.
Also, would you have any idea if this is related to the error 65 when I'm signing in to windows live messenger and yahoo messenger?
I'm also having a problem connecting to Wifi, it can detect the wifi network but won't connect, anybody know hot to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi ninarollaine,
Do you currently have a BlackBerry data plan with your wireless network provider? Some network providers requre you have a BlackBerry data plan to browse, even when on Wi-Fi.  I would recommend contacting them for more information.
    Thanks.

  • Curve 8900 not connecting to Desktop Software version 6.0.0.40

I am not able to connect my Curve 8900 to the BlackBerry Desktop Software Version 6.0.0.40.  When I connect via USB it asks for the password  and then it says connecting in the bottom right corner - it never connects.  I also have the Blackberry Device Manager version 6.0.0.11 running at startup but it does say that the device is connected.  There are no errors in the device manager.  I am running Windows XP SP3.

No one else replied, but I seem to have solved the problem, more or less, so I thought I'd report back.  See previous message for the setup.
    1) First attack - make a concerted effort to truly undelete the 2 old versions of Desktop Manager.  The typical list of "how to cleanly uninstall" (link above) is incomplete.  This document is much better: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206 .
The part that matters is near the bottom, under Additional Information.  Basically, take a shovel to the Registry and start digging out absolutely every reference to "Research In Motion" using the Edit/Find.  I added to that recommendation a search on "BlackBerry" and even, for good measure, all the Roxio software (and removed the Roxio folders just like the Research In Motion folders).  I can't say which part did the trick, but I could see some of the Install and Uninstall list items go by.
This finally killed the zombie entries in the Add/Remove Programs list, and prevented the Windows Installer attempts on unfindable .msi files.
    2) Problems: In killing Roxio, I may have accidentally munged a Sonic registry entry.  When I installed the Desktop Manager fresh from the CD, it complained about a registry-style confusion with Sonic software.  It allowed me to continue past that point anyway.
I can't fix that, but I will be swapping in new PCs in a couple of months and can live with whatever reduced functionality might be involved.
When I started the Desktop Manager for the first time, I could see Windows Installer popups fly by in the background, but none of them stayed open, and perhaps that will be a one-time problem.  Otherwise, if related to the Sonic issue, at least it's not a functional problem that prevents me from using the Desktop Manager.
    3) I can now connect to the Desktop Manager via USB, but am unable to successfully update the device software.  It goes through the backup process apparently successfully, but issues an error message about "Fatal error" before installing much (any?) of the new software.  Seems to be a benigh error - phone still works.  Because this will be reinstalled on a clean PC in a couple of months, I can pass on upgrading the device software until then.
    4) All I care about is the ability to synch the contact and calendar data and, by god, that seems to be working!!!  And it's much faster than my older BB.
If you're reading this, it's because you have an ongoing nightmare...  You have my sympathy.

  • HELP! Bluetooh file transfer to Curve 8900 Problem plz help!

I recently buyed a BB Curve 8900 phone and I am having a problem with Bluetooh. I can send files from my BB to another phone or my laptopp. But when it comes to receiving files on my BB the other device (From which the file is being sent) says Bluetooth connection failed. I tried to transfer file from a Nokia and a Sony Ericsson phone but they just cant send the file to my BB.Please help me ASAP. I have tried all the steps in the manual.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    See this KB:
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
Substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device in place of the KB section for the sending device. Do not skip the "Receive Using BT" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Serious Problem with Curve 8900

    Hello.
A have a Curve 8900 phone which was on the contract with T-Mobile a while back.
I bought it like new. It was used a bit, but never dropped or anything so hardware is perfectly fine and it did work while it was with the previous owner on the contract.
Contract was over and the man sold the phone to me. I unlocked it for usage with any network using the code I found for it and now the phone shows that it is unlocked and sees any network just fine.
Thing is that though the phone shows that everything is ok - I am UNABLE to make any calls, receive any calls (online works through my home Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth connectivity is fine.)
Phone shows that it is CONNECTED TO network. (Tried even the original T-Mobile card) But no calls could be made or received. SMS cannot be received or sent as well.
I tried many things up to rewriting the firmware, wiping out - nothing helps. I have the tools needed to rewrite the firmware and system but I need to know where to look...
I need your help badly (just please do not write answers like replug the battery) - I am no novice in the field of phone repairs and unlocking but it is a first time I encountered something I'm even clueless what to do and what could be the cause. And yes - I do not have experience with BlackBerry in particular (just before you ask)
    Please help.
    Best Regards
    Jack

Sounds like your phone is BLOCKED. The likely cause is the person who sold it to you reported it lost or stolen after you bought it.
Many phones will show as having a signal even when blocked although you cannot make calls as in your case.
Sorry mate. Take your phone back to the person you bought it off.

  • BB Curve 8900 Camera Problem

Whenever I go to take a photo on my BlackBerry Curve 8900, the camera just freezes and won't let me do anything at all. Does this sound like I need to reinstall the OS? Thank you, Sam
    In Thrust, I Trust

I have the same problem, whenever I open the camera, the camera screen is there, but the picture is black and my phone freezes.  How did you reinstall the OS. I just updated my phone, restored it, and the camera still isn't working.

  • Curve 8900 problems

Hi, my Curve 8900's scroll ball does not always work, it feels like it is not touching the pad and just rolls without accomplishing anything. My phone will also just hang for no apparent reason and it is very frustrating trying to run a business this way. I heard somewhere that blackberry is recalling some phones & exchanging them for new ones, is this true and how do I go about starting this process?

This is tough to narrow down.  Can you try another battery or better yet, take it to the store or authorized repair shop?  It may be the battery, but I can't tell.

  • Curve 8900 won't view surveilence cameras correctly

    Hi!
I am a locksmith with Carl's Lock Shop in Co. Spgs, CO.
We view a particular web site with our shop cameras in order to sell our services...
    The web site is www.videoalert.net
You will automatically be re-directed to thier mobile site...
should say "mobile access" or "mobile viewer" at the top...
Enter user name ppp and password pp then click next...
Choose either rover1 camera or pan and tilt (camera 2 is is disabled)...
Now the image, if you have any other Black Berry other than a Curve 8900, will update every few seconds with still pics...(no Blank screen between pics)
If your un-fortunate enough to have been suckered into buying a Curve 8900 you will get one image for about five seconds then instead of refreshing it just goes to blank screen...(if it does refresh it will just blink a half secord glimpse of the pic every thirty seconds or so)
T-Mobile Black Berry/ PDA  support is no help at all...(have tried every setting in the phone and some settings only an **bleep** would attempt)
Have been connected with Black Berry support to no avail also...(if 877-255-2377 case # 7151298 was a legit deal( they seemed kinda dumb)
If you let the screen saver come on it will bring up a permanent pic that will not refresh...(Same thing as turning off java script in browser config)
It's painfully obvious to even a moron like myself that this new Black Berry has a different Java scpript or operating system  that is not compatible with this particular 3rd party web site, that neither T-Mobile nor Black Berry are responsible for...Duh
I don't need them to tell me that...
I figured that out before I called them and spent hours trying to fix the un-fixable...
    Dumb as I am, I know when I have bought a "Pig-In-A-Poke".
Oh Yeah the Streaming video on this piece of junk skips and locks up unless your on Wi-Fi so don't believe the "Hype" about how good it plays...
"IF" anybody has any ideas on what will fix this thing...
Call me direct at (phone number edited out for privacy)
    Thnx,
    Stang
    problem not solved...
    cliked solve button inadvertantly...

  • Curve 8900 - strange errors?!

    Hi everyone!
BB curve 8900; v4.4.1.310; Vodafone Portugal data plan.
    I'm having this problem:
My emails work wonderfully, so do text msgs, mms; blackberry messenger, all ok, BUT all my other apps won't connect.
Facebook says: error 101 try again later.
    BB App world says: java.lang.nullexception
browser via data plan: it gets stuck in "loading"
I can get them all working through Wifi though!
AND YET, they work from time to time...I will receive from time to time, for example, FB notifications on my FB app that I'd already received on my email (and not on the FB app at the same time)
I dunno...I've made several battery pulls; plugged it into my mac and updated, cleaned unused apps and themes, cleared space...
    I need some help..
    thank you all.

Find a friend with a PC, you can use for a few hours.
I would recommend Desktop Manager, version 6. Download Desktop Manager from here:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Use Desktop Manager to backup your BlackBerry first. If you don't already, you should do this on your own Mac Desktop for Blackberry as well.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=06997F04A7DB92466A2BAA6EBC8B872D
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.
    2. Please resolve your thread by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

  • Curve 8900 has died!!

My Curve 8900 has suddenly stopped working.  Have had various issues with it over the last few weeks/months and have solved them by doing a hard reset.  It stopped the day before yesterday and is showing no signs of life at all ie no lights, nothing.  Can anyone help.  I have tried leaving the battery out overnight and have also removed the sim card.
    Thanks
    AndreaV

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Curve 8900 couldnt on

Hi,i am new here! i am facing some problem,my phone (curve 8900) keep shut down, after ON it not long ago, then its turns off automatically, need your guys experties to solve my problem, thank you

I got this off of someones replies. I have that issue too!! I havent tried it yet tho. Let me know if it works please!!
If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a white or black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    Please see this KB
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
While it discusses transferring between two BB's, the process is the same -- you must set the receiving BB up for receipt before initiating the send from the other device.
