Connection problems just for my mac

Today my Mac just doesn't want to connect to the Internet: AirPort finds my wifi network and it connects to it, but then no software can have access to the Internet (i.e. Safari, Firefox, Camino, iTunes...).
My home PC actually connects to the same network; I tried with my university wifi network but it didn't work either.
If there's any kind of info needed to solve this problem out just ask me.

Just updated from 10.6.7 ---> 10.6.8 and had the same issue. Despite having done a clean install from 10.6 and got everything back off my TC, now Time Machine can't find it!
Green light is on, ethernet cable conected, network CP says its conected but nothing. Airport Utility can't find it. Hit reset button, Orange flashing light but still no show in Airport Utility.
But I know its there, as rebooting from 10.6 SL disk shows the backups are still ok?
Hmm, ideas anyone?

It is quite clear: you can install it on as many Macs as you own and control. These are the very same terms as for Lion. The OS has separate terms and have nothing to do with the iTunes music, etc. terms.

Constant connection problems, ongoing for the last...

Starting from june, I have had an issue with my infinity connection.
Every so often, the connection would cut out, the DSL would disconnect, and then attempt to reconnect taking around a minute each time.
We have been on the phone to BT many times, and they have come to loads of conclusions, ranging from the homehub being the issue, to there not being a problem.
The most recent contact made to the customer help centre ended with them admitting there was a fault on the line, which 2 days ago, they rang back, and said it was fixed. On the contrary, it is now worse than ever.
Last night alone I experienced 12 outages in the space of 3 hours.
The current status is as follows:

I have had exactly the same problem over exactly the same time frame. Didn't really think much of it until I noticed BT Sport wouldn't work. A few calls to BT got me nowhere and the the fix they where sure would work didn't, however this was about the 3rd or 4th attempt at a solution. Thereafter I started taking a bit more note of on demand crashing, kids getting upset when Xbox live gameplay crashed and realised it's dropping out many times a day. It almost seems rhythmic like it's on a cycle.
Due to being overseas I can't call them about it yet but the BT infinity has been a total pain. Sure it downloads faster but overall it's a worse service than we had before.
The BT sport issue they claim is due to powerline adapters but connecting direct doesn't make any difference. I also ran the BT speedtest on the port coming out of the powerline adapter and it was just as fast as the speed coming out of the home hub. Given an engineer comes and installs it all it's pretty poor, I was not at home at the time and he clearly didn't check to see if BT sport was working or if the extra channels your meant to get where there, which they aren't.
I would guess this issue is not isolated so BT need to get on the case and sort it out or I'll be cancelling the whole lot and going elsewhere.

I seem to be having ethernet connectivity problems on my thunderbolt Macs - can anyone help?

BOTH my Thunderbolt Macs (27" i7i iMac and 13" MacBook Pro) report No connection to internet in Safari - using Network Diagnostics shows Ethernet/Internet to be working fine, but Safari error continues (onscreen message has strange formatting - each line of the message is repeated three times). This problem looks identical to an earlier problem which was fixed by an early Thunderbolt Display firmware update. Swapping ethernet on my Macbook Pro from Display Ethernet to MacBook Ethernet results in same problem. Meanwhile Email continues to work fine! Any insights/hints/lifelines greatfully received ...

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
Launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

WLAN USB Adaptor & Internt connection problem on iBook G3 Mac OS X 10.2

Hi everyone - I hope someone may be able to help me!
I have an old iBook which I haven't used for over a year and am not particularly computer savvy anyway. I've booted it up again to find the driver for my ASUS WL-167g adapter was missing... can't remember why now, but found the driver online and reinstalled it successfully. It picks up the network at home fine, shows good signal strength and yet when I open internet explorer I get "specified server cannot be found".
In Network I'm at a loss as to what means what let alone the settings that it should be on! Can anyone talk me through what settings should be on in the network pane? In previous homes I've never had any issues. Should also note that I live in shared accomodation and the router is in someone else's room, so access to it is limited!

Do you know any more information about the network?
Such as:
Is the IP static or is it assigned via DHCP? In other words, does the router hand out IP's to it's clients or do you have to set it manually?
Secondly, do you know if the router is using any kind of encryption? If you are and the key is not set on the wireless card, you will not be able to get on the internet without setting it.
Just a couple of things to start with. Check these and get back with us.

Time Machine network connection problems. Scary.

I have several problems with the Time Machine backup system. I do not know if they are based on the same basic problem or if these are different problems. Therefor I will describe the whole complex here:
I have a setup with 2 computers, a Mac Pro and a Laptop Pro, and 2 different backup discs (2TB Lacie backup disc), all of this connected to the router with ethernet except the laptop which goes with wifi. The plan was to have one disc to back up each computer.
Initially I got the setup to work. But after a while, both computers says that there is a problem finding its backup disc. This happens without any changes in setup, passwords or physical connections. Sometimes I am able to connect to the backup disc by typing in the ip address or otherwise, and sometimes that doesn't work either. When I finally (sometimes) get contact between machine and its backup disc, the Time Machine panel shows "no previous backup". Pretty scaring. All my work is on those discs (should be).
Another problem is, for the Mac Pro machine, that it sometimes says "not enough free space on disc for backup". At the same time, Time Machine is set up to delete older backup versions as soon as it is needed. How does that fit together?
Today I bought a new and expensive router (Netgear 600), just in case it was something wrong with the old one. But I still have the same problems.
Any enlightening on this situation is very much appreciated!

To fix the Time Capsule network backup error, I removed the 5GHZ band from my AEB network.
After that it backed everything up all fine.

My computer is running very slow, how can I tell if it is a internet connection problem or my computer?

I have a mac 10.5.8 and it has been very slow lately. I often get the rainbow wheel when using it and recently I have had to restart the computer alot because it seems to freeze. The only other open program besides Safari is the finder which i cant seems to ever shut off. I'm not sure if this is an interent connection problem or if my mac needs servicing.

Please begin using 25 Ways to Speed Up Your Mac you will almost certainly find the cause there. The first place I'd look though is how much RAM your system has, if you never upgraded it that could be the problem. Macs ship with a minimum amount of RAM so it's possible a simple RAM upgrade would help. Use the article though and methodically go through the suggestions.

I set up my new HP Descjet 3054A . I had a problem becouse Apple give me CD as a driver. The thing was that CD wasn good for this printer becouse it was old software:) I had to go to Apple store so the specialist had to download me he wright driver. Becouse I didnt wannet to screw this up . When he downloaded driver I fired it up at house and thingworks perfect. The thing is when you download all the software from HP side . Then you have to connect your MAC to printer via USB . Fallow the instructions it should works. Worked for me. Good Luck!

I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Thank you both for your responses but my daughter was reassured by the salesman in the iStyle store (official Apple store in the UAE) that iMessages would work but conceded that FaceTime wouldn't. My iTunes account is registered in the uk and my daughter's iPhone has iMessages even though she bought it (and uses it) in Dubai. Can anyone else throw any light on this?
