Connection & System Problems

I am operating on a Toshiba L655D-S5025 laptop.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with a 2.10GHZ AMD Athlon P-320 Processor.  I am unable to connect via wi-fi.  When I attempt to fix the problem, the statement "An error occured while
loading troubleshooter:  An unexpected error has occurred.  The troubleshooter wizard can't continue."  When I select the option "view error details", the following appears:
Package ID:  Unknown
Path:  C:\windows\diagnostics\system\networking
Error code:  0x8007045A
Source:  Command line
User:  AshleighBates\AshleighBates
Context:  Restricted
System Restores have been unsuccessful.  I am questioning whether or not the system has been compromised.  I do not have the original system disc to complete a full re-install.

Hi,
Please try one of the two methods.
  Method 1: Upgrade or reinstall the Microsoft XML parser To download the latest XML parser, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/xml/bb190622.aspx (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/xml/bb190622.aspx)
Method 2: Replace the corrupted files To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
Copy the following DLL files from the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder on a computer that is working to the computer that is experiencing the problem:
Msxml3.dll
Msxml3a.dll
Msxml3r.dll
After you replace the files, you must register the files. To register the files, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then clickRun
In the Open box, type REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSXML.DLL, and then click
OK. You receive a message when the registration succeeds.
Repeat steps a and b with the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSXML2.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSXML3.DLL
Restart your computer.
Kind Regards,
Martin

    How to check whether a network connected system is in
    power on through its ip address? Is there a simple
    way in java to check that?If you know that it normally has a server listening on a given port, then you can try to establish a connection on that port.
    If the connection succeeds, it's powered on.
    If the connection fails, you cannot know whether it's powered on or not. It may be on, but the server isn't running. It may be on with server running but the network path to that host may have a problem. It may be on, server running, good network path, etc., but the server may be very busy and the connection attempt may timeout. etc.

  • SSD Install - System Problems

    I'm posting this hoping someone has an answer for my dilemma.
    This weekend I installed a Samsung 256 SSD in my MB Pro unibody 15. I formatted the SSD with GUID and did a zero erase. I then installed OS X from the disc that came with my laptop three months ago. This had 10.5.5 on it. Once the install was completed and the computer re-booted I came to the migration screen. I selected the option to migrate my data from the old hard drive that I connected via a SATA docking device. This then transferred my user folder, applications, preferences etc to the new drive. I then ran Software Update and installed all the updates that were relevant.
    I'm now experiencing frequent system hangs where I get the spinning beach ball. At first I thought it was related to Safari as it happens there a lot. But then this morning it's happened numerous times in the finder.
    My feeling is the problem is related to the data migration. However, I dread the thought of wiping everything and re-installing as that took me quite some time to complete on Sunday. Any suggestions on how I might remedy this problem?

    Dan, according to what I've been able to learn you should not be getting CRC errors. These errors mean there's a connection/transfer problem with the drive. I got over 2,000 of these after using my drive for 3 days. I had constant spinning beach balls. It would happen every 5 to 15 minutes and sometimes 5 times in 10 minutes. It was very aggravating. I contacted the person I bought the drive from and am returning it for replacement.
    I did try checking the SATA connection and re-securing. This didn't solve my problem. I had originally used Super Duper to clone my HDD to the SSD and had the same problems. I then tried a wipe and re-install and migration assistant and the same problem. So quite obviously the drive I had was bad. I also had very slow write speeds compared to other benchmarks that I seen for the same drive.
    I will see what happens with the replacement drive when it arrives. One thing for sure is that these SSD's aren't the be all end all that I thought they were. I've done lot's of research on them since I took delivery and there's lot's of problems with all the drives from what I can see.
    Good luck with your's and keep us posted.

    Before you perform a reactive debug, I suggest you practice on a non production script.
    The first thing you will need to do is, open the CRS Script Editor and log in.  You cannot Reactive Debug if you're not logged in and connected to the UCCX server.
    Next, press CRTL+Shift+R to open the reactive debug dialog.
    Select the script name from the list for the script you are troublehsooting.
    Select how long you want the system to wait for the next call before cancelling the debugger.
    Press OK
    Place a call into the script.
    At this point a script window should open and the Start step should be highlighted in red.
    Press F10 to step through the script, step by step, analyzing what's happening.

  • 10.5.2 failed to fix wireless connection dropping problem

    10.5.2 did not fix wireless connection dropping problem. I lose wireless connection whenever my MBP restarts or wake up from sleep in the building where I am and have to retype password about 10 times a day. I had not had this problem when I used Tiger. Everyone who has upgraded to Leopard or has it installed on their Mac is experiencing the same problem. Is there any solution or trick to resolve this problem? Thank you.

    Amularya,
    Please read the post I made in this thread earlier. No less than a dozen solutions are offered in the link I provided for wireless issues. Troubleshooting wireless issues requires individual attention because of the plethora of issues which can't be tested for. So please start a new topic thread here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1225&start=0
    So you can get a wider audience, and won't confuse the original poster with solutions that don't apply to them.
    There literally hundreds of different WiFi adapters.
    Dozens of different virus and firewall combinations.
    Possibilities for damaged WiFi cards and routers, as well as routers whose firmware is not to spec with the latest wireless standard.
    To top it off, bad RAM, hard disk being too full, and bad preference, cache or or logfiles can make various aspects of the operating system misbehave, and/or even the directory leading to those files.
    Until each person starts their own thread looking for solution individually, chances are they won't find one. Yes, 10.5.2 addresses WiFi for some people. Obviously it doesn't for everyone. The point is, there are some people, like myself who have never had a WiFi issue either with Intel or PowerPC Macs that they couldn't resolve without a little bit of troubleshooting. I'm happy to help you walk through it, but only if you start your own thread asking for help.

  • Tracing what is happening in the connect() system call

    I've been playing around with some of the recipies in dtrace today trying to find out why it takes so long to connect from a linux machine to an ultra 5 running sendmail but I'm not having a lot of luck.
    The one thing I can find is that the amount of time for the connect system call to return takes a long time. Here's the dtrace script I wrote (borrowing from Bryan Cantrill's blog):
    bash-2.05b# cat functiontime.d
    #!/usr/sbin/dtrace -s
    #pragma D option flowindent
    syscall::connect:entry
    /execname == "sendmail"/
    self->start = vtimestamp;
    syscall:::entry,
    syscall:::return
    /self->start/
    trace(vtimestamp - self->start);
    syscall::connect:return
    /execname == "sendmail"/
    self->start = 0;
    exit(0);
    This is the output:
    bash-2.05b# ./functiontime.d
    dtrace: script './functiontime.d' matched 454 probes
    CPU FUNCTION
    0 => connect 0
    0 | connect:return 303079
    0 <= connect
    I know there are other syscalls going on from the time connect enters to the time it returns but I have no idea how to get them to print.
    Any ideas how I can make this script more useful to see exactly where sendmail is getting hung up?

    You might also try something like
    #!/usr/sbin/dtrace -s
    #pragma D option flowindent
    syscall::connect:entry
    /execname == "sendmail"/
            self->depth = 1;
            self->syscallstart = timestamp
    fbt:::entry
    /self->depth/
            self->start[self->depth] = timestamp;
            trace(self->start[self->depth++] - self->syscallstart);
    fbt:::return
    /self->depth/
            this->delta = timestamp - self->start[--self->depth];
            @func[probefunc] = quantize(this->delta);
            printf("delta is %d\n", this->delta);
            self->start[self->depth] = 0;
    syscall::connect:return
    /self->depth/
            exit(0);
    }This will give you the function call flow inside the kernel along with the following:
    - on function entry, a time delta since connect was called
    - on function exit, how long we spent in the function
    - on return from the connect system call, a list of histograms showing the call times for all functions called
    You are probably going to want to redirect the output as it gets big.
    Also note, I've written this to give the information only for the first call to connect.

  • Oracle.DataAccess 2.112.1.0 - Connection Pool Problem

    Hi,
    Oracle.DataAccess 2.112.1.0 is having connection pool problem. The no. of TCP connections to Oracle database keep increasing untill the server's session run out of limit. My application created connections, use them, close them, and dispose them properly. When using previous Oracle.DataAccess 2.111.6.20, the no. of TCP connections do not increase.
    My database connection string has "Min Pool Size = 3 and Max Pool Size = 150".
    With 2.111.6.20 version, TCP connection stays at 3.
    With 2.112.1.0, TCP connection keep increasing for every 5 minutes. I've tried to disable Self Tuning, but still can't prevent the connections from increasing.
    Later today, I downloaded Oracle.DataAccess 2.112.1.2 (it comes with ODAC 11.2.0.1.2) and test again, the problem is resolved... no more connection increases... but.... it is only for 32 bit Windows.
    Unfortunately, there is no Oracle.DataAccess 2.112.1.2 for 64 bit Windows Server 2008.
    May I know how can i resolve this problem on 64bit Window installed with Oracle 11g R2 client, which comes with Oracle.DataAccess 2.112.1.0, which has serious problems...(according to this 11.2 ODP.NET causing test runner failures )
    Many thanks for your time and answers!

    Hi,
    The only thing that jumps out within your problem description is that connections are being increased every 5 minutes. Are you sure its every 5 minutes and not 3 minutes which is the timing interval used by the Connection Pool facility to perform connection pool maintenance. If this occurs even when the application is idle then you could be running into the following known issue filed against 11.2.0.1.0 and fixed in 11.2.0.1.2.
    Bug 9711600 - CONNECTIONS INCREASE BEYOND MAX POOL SIZE EVERY 3 MINUTE
    This is specific to using the option CommandBehavior.CloseConnection when calling execute reader. Are you using this option and then also closing the connection in code before the datareader object is closed, if so you may be hitting this bug. You can also generate an ODP trace at level 15 of the behavior and if you see negative pool counts, that is also a diagnostic that points to this bug.
    This is fixed in 11.2.0.1.0 Patch 3 or later for x64. If you have support, I recommend you open a service request to verify if this is your issue and if a patch set may help you.
    Regards
    Jenny B.

  • Run filters on folder - 4.7.0 Temporary System Problem

    When I try to run filters on folder to clean up my inbox into my folders I am getting this message -
    An (SMTP) error occurred while sending mail. The server responded: 4.7.0 Temporary System Problem. Try again later (WS). t6sm1646118qai.10 - gsmtp.
    How can I fix this, my inbox is horrifying!
    Filters do work on start up, but only if I haven't opened them via mobile. And I can create and sort new filters.

    That sounds like your using filters to send mail. If you sending lots of mail gmail will simply stop sending as your outside the terms of use. Hence the temporary nature of the error.

  • What's with the new edition of Pages using Maverick?  Google rejects the files  with the following message attached "The reason for the problem: 5.3.0 - Other mail system problem 552-'5.7.0 This message was blocked as its content security threat?

    I recently upgraded both Pages 09 (I believe) and went to OSX 10.9 Maverick .... now I am unable to send a pages document to a friend on gmail.  Google rejects the message and attachment with the following explanation -
    The reason for the problem:
    5.3.0 - Other mail system problem 552-'5.7.0 This message was blocked because its content presents a potential\n5.7.0 security issue.

    Same Problem here
    IWORKS 09    pages, keynote, numbers does not send in MAIL (mac) because of "This message was blocked because its content presents a potentialsecurity issue"
    its a problem not only on GMAIL but also Live, Hotmail, Yahoo, and other services...
    The problem is that gmail and others haved yet accepted the latest iworks 09 files. its a problem that apple can ask then to fix but its up to the gmail and others to fix it.
    Solution!!!:
    1 - Send it by exporting to office files
    2 - Saving the files as old iwork documents
    3 - Command P and save as PDF
    4 - Save in icloud and send the URL
    So you can still send them but have to take a bit more of your time
    i hope you understand my english is not optimal

    (Unfortunatly.. and now I know the importance, I haven't used time-machine and my mac isn't backed up. If i restore to factory settings I will loose the 600+ photos and videos I had in my iPhoto Library.... which dissapeared, which is the whole reason why I created the first thread)
    Thank you!!

    It appeared to me that somehow the OP's Picture folder was converted into an iPhoto Library as his screenshot of the PIctures folder looked like the inside of a library.
    This statement by the OP make me think it might be more than just an iPhoto issue (the bold text):
    I am unable to drag the Picture folder to the desktop, It wont move, and iPhoto (which is still empty) just opens.
    Some how the same is happening with Documents,

  • System problems (all new hardware)

    well as the subject says i have system problems, let me explain in details.
    this happened yesterday, when i use the computer (moving the mouse arround) the computer is fine and works as it should CPU, GPU and so on is fine and normal in usage and temp but as soon as i let go of the mouse and wait arround 2 min, all my 8 cores (i7 3.5Ghz) goes 100% and GPU goes 100% with 70C ++ temp and the fans starts running crazy.... but as soon as i start moving my mouse arround again everything goes back to normal :S
    and this affects movies i watch and games, making it lagg like crazy :S
    i have NEVER EVER EVER in my life encounter such a strange error / fault whatever it is :S i have tryed unplugging my mouse, still encounter the problem, tryed installing GPU driver again (fresh install), tryed rolling back GPU driver, but that didnt work.... as i figured out that my entire system was overloading when i wasnt "using" the computer (moving the mouse arround) :S
    and just to be clear, all hardware is BRAND NEW!!!! motherboard, cpu, memory, watercooling system (CPU)..... and they worked fine uptill yesterday :S (strangly enough right after i installed Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012) :S but i dont think that has ANYTHING to do with this "error"...
    i could also mention that when i have "Task Manager" up this error doesnt happen (with the 100% on all 8 cores and GPU getting 70C and so on)....
    REALY need some help here!!!?
