Connection to 2WIRE problem, need help soon before I have to format

Basically what happened was at first I wasn't able to connect to my Aunt's 2WIRE router, this was while I was using 10.4.9 (and after it stopped working I tried upgrading to 10.4.10 and nothing changed.) The reason why I couldn't connect was because nobody knew the password, but after calling SBC they disabled the password/WEP and disabled S SID broadcasst so that I could connect to it without any issues and without every neighbor being able to see the network.
This worked fine for about a week. Then one day it stopped working, and the only thing out of the ordinary is that the power in the house went out.
Here is the thing, I can still connect to a local Apple Network someone around me has set up. The only problem is 1) I cant stay connect for more than 10-20 mins and 2) Im stealing someone's internet basically.
I've called both SBC and Apple care. First I went to SBC, we did all the trouble shooting and they said it was a problem with my MacBook. I called Apple and they told me it was a problem with my router, but I forgot to tell them that another computer (a PC) is currently able to connect to the router, just not mine. But I called SBC again this morning and again they referred m e to apple care.... and I called Apple Care this morning but I was on hold for almost 45 mins and after 10 minutes of talking the call dropped so I just went to bed.
I think I might try calling them once more, but I'm more than likely going to format my computer. If anyone can give me any tips for I do so, please let me know.

Just trying to help.. I dunno what sort of router your ISP is using... But doesn't your 2Wire router or modem have a software control panel? Which could be access via HTTP?
For most routers the IP address should be 192.168.0.1 or something similar.

My ipod touch (2nd generation) is stuck on the usb to itunes screen. I have NOT jailbroken it, and i have also tried restarting numerous times. I need help, soon! Itunes on my computer works about 50% of the time, so i feel lost!
Download RecBoot and see if you can kick it out of recovery mode.

Thank you for your suggestion but I have already had a couple of phone sessions with NETGEAR support and they don't see any problems with the router settings etc. They referred me to Apple support, who helped me discover that it is possible to communicate with the router but only if I turn off the encryption/security software, which I don't want to do. The frustrating thing is that I can connect wirelessly from a laptop running Windows 7 and two Anroid smart phones, with WPA-2 in place, without a problem. Do you have any other ideas?

My iphone 4 is not working and I cant reset it from the computer either because it wont connect to it I need help!!!
1. I tried connecting it to itunes for a system reset and it didnt work.
2. The phone wont even turn on!!!If the phone wont turn on it sounds like it needs to be charged. Plug it into a charger and wait about 15 minutes and try turning it on while still charging. Have you tried holding in your home button with the on/off button held in? Hold them both together until the apple logo comes up and then release them. The screen will blink off an on while it is resetting. I still think this is a battery issue. Good luck~

hi there, I need help .. i locked myself out of my ipod and i tryed unlocking it and then the "ipod is disabled" remark shoowed up. Today i was listening to music and my zen micro just froze while playing and no buttons could be pressed and the lock button wasnt on. So i took the battery out and rebooted the player but it froze at the creative screen. I went home and i went to recovery mode and tried to reload the firmware but it said erasing firmware for more than 2 hours. So then i tried a format but it said formating for the same amount of time. I need help please. Also, recently i've had problems witht the headphone jack. When ever i would stick it in it would sound distorted and i would have to move it around until i got it to a certain spot to hear it good again. If anyone else has this problem please tell me. One more thing i had returned my other micro zen in for hard dri've probems and this was my new one do u think if i have to return in (hopefully not) that they would accept it.

Problems with Vista and Reader 8.12 - unusual problem need help
I can't seem to find anyone to help me or any record of someone else having this problem. As soon as I install reader 8.12 on my new system (Vista) it begins 'hijacking' other files. In other words other icons on my desktop (e.g., the icon for AOL IM) turn into PDF icons and so when I try to launch an .exe file - Reader launches instead and of course tells me it can't open the file. This is so maddening. I've installed and unstalled the program several times and have rebooted. I've tried to contact Adobe but they will not provide support, I've contacted Gateway and they say it's an Adobe issue and Microsoft won't speak with me because Vista was pre-installed on the computer. If anyone has any ideas and can assist me I'd greatly appreciate it. For now I just have to leave the program uninstalled and therefore can't open any PDFs.
AnitaIt seems that in Vista bad things may happen if you ever choose a
program to open downloaded EXE files.
