Connection to an openoffice database
Hi,
does anybody know how to access the openoffice database functionalities using LabVIEW?
Are there any dlls or activeX, or anything that can be called from LabVIEW, which allow getting and setting values in a specified table?
Thanks in advance.
Thank you for the answer but I still have doubts!
I have installed the version 2.0.1 enabling the activeX features during the installation. What I need now is to know how to configure the "automation open" function in LabVIEW, since I can't found any item referred to openoffice browsing the select activeX class.

Dw cs5 with existing wordpress site hosted on yahoo need help connecting to existing remote database
I am having trouble establishing a database connection. I can connect with test databases but am having trouble using dreamweaver wtih my existing wordpress website. Am I able to use dreamweaver to edit and live view my changes before uploading the changed files to my live site? Am I able to access my existing wordpress database with dreaweaver? I have imported it to my testing server/database but still seem to be having trouble establishing a connection with it (think maybe my folder hierarchy might be off).
macintosh HD/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/nwm/wp/index.php
"nwm" is the name of the folder that I have copied all of my site files to and the folder I have dreamweaver pointing to. "wp" is what I have all of the wordpress files in (the ones I copied from my yahoo server - including all my current theme files etc.)
I am trying to put the info into the mysql connection dialog box:
Connection Name: Testing (i am assuming this name is for my benefit only and doesn't actually matter)
MySQL Server: mysql
User Name: *****
Password: *****
Database: wp
and am getting this message
MySQL Error#: 2013
Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error 61
did some google seaches of the error. Tried turning off the firewall, and the advance tab allow mysql incoming (there were 2 one was allow one was not allow. I changed both to allow)
Cant really find anything on yahoo to help me out. Looked in phpmyadmin database named wp: wp_users to get the username and password (which due to previous look for help - I think the password was encrypted cuz it looked like a bunch of mumbo jumbo and am fairly certain I know the correct password).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I spent $50 on live chat last night trying to resolve the issue only to find out at the end that the guy really didn't understand my problem and doesn't have dreamweaver. I have also watched countless videos on Lynda.com and have been thru forum after forum. While this problem is only a couple weeks old since I just got CS5. I have been having trouble making any headway learning php since I cant seem to make it past the set up parts. I have done the php / mysql essential training on lynda.com with relative success except that I really dont want to work with any more exercise files so I didn't go on to the beyond the basics. I recently went thru most of the Dreamweaver CS5 and Wordpress 3. Also did the first 4 chapters of Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP and MySQL. I need to start integrating things into my live sites. I am also trying to work my way thru the learning php, mysql, javascript book by o'reily media by robin nixon (as fun as reading a math text book) can't get thru it since I can't relate any of it to my current sites/needs
I am on MacBookPro OSX 10.6.6
Installed MAMP to specification on all 20 tutorials I have tried including lynda.com
Tested the testing server and is working
Just installed dreamweaver cs5
have been using wordpress online to create and edit posts (recently upgraded to 3.? whatever the latest update was online which I believe update the files on my yahoo server?)
Have also installed wordpress on my computer (several times thru each tutorial trying to get this right.)
Am I expecting the impossible? If wordpress controls it's own connection why am I unable to use the live view. I have synced the remote site to my local computer so all the files should be just as they are online with the exception of the DB which contains most of the content.
I have done all of those steps. I have even exported the database from inside internet phpmyadmin and imported into computer phpmyadmin. When I hit live view I get one of couple of errors.
1. "One is that the dynamic related files could not be displayed due to an internal server error"
At some point I was able to view some sample files inside dreamweaver. But I would like to be able to view my real site files. I was able to "connect" to the local databases (not the copy of my real one - I think that maybe that was because it is somehow nested inside another db an am going try to reimport to new location). And then I changed the host/username/password trying to deal with the internal server error. Now instead I get the cannot connect to the database Error 2016 or whatever from the origianl post. Also, I am using yahoo if that matters and all I can find about what their server name is: mysql - is that correct?
I have been thru this so many times with so many different tutorials I am losing track of what is what.
2. Can I access my remote database within dreamweaver? I do not want to create dummy files (seems to be a waste of time). And while if it had worked exporting/importing a duplicate on to my computer would have satisfied me for a little while it also seems some what counter productive. Since every post and page is different if I were doing a daily updates etc how would I be able to change the formating or design of them if I can't access the remote files. Would I re- import everytime I want to work on it to get current database?
I am trying to be clear. I listed all the specs I could think as listed in your "how to get help fast post" (yes I read that at least twice too) of all of the steps and possible reasons for my problems. I also thought that the forum was on a seperate site so I didn't think it would count as a duplicate. I am frustrated to tears and am feeling incredibly stupid that after all this time and all these tutorials yes you are right I obviously am not understanding what is going on which is why I am on this forum. -
Connecting to a Mysql database using CF Administrator and DW
I can't create a mysql datasource in CF Administrator.
If I use the following datasource settings in CF
Administrator:
JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test
Drive Class: MySQL Connector J
AND (note the emphasis) I set my local and remote folders in
my DW site local folder, remote folder and testing server folders
all to C:\CFusionMX\db\, I can connect to my mysql database in CF
Administrator.
However, with these DW site folder settings, DW doesn't
recognize any databases (Access or Mysql) at all.
When I change my DW site folder settings to 'wwwroot'
(e.g.local folder C:\CFusionMX\db\' is changed to
'C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot') DW now lists all my CF Administrator
databases.
The problem is CF Administrator can't connect to my Mysql
data sources. It gives me the error:
"Connection verification failed for data source: javaserver
[]java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool
while attempting to connect, please check your username, password,
URL, and other connectivity info.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException
occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your
username, password, URL, and other connectivity info"
I've tried changing the 3306 port to 8500, but this doesn't
help.
My java path and connector file is:
C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\WEB-INF\lib\mysql-connector-java-3.0.17-ga-bin.jar,
Is this a ID/password problem? I've tried both 'root' and
leaving the ID field in the CF Administrator add data source block,
both to no avail. I don't have a password set in Mysql for 'root'
either.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I've been working
on this for weeks and keep running into one problem after another.
Thanks a million in advance.
Sincerely,
Graham A. Kerby1) ensure mysql server is running
2) there are numerous tutorials for mysql installation out
there
3) there are good free mysql admin tools out there
4) use both the above to verify your mysql installation is
correct
5) please tell me you do have your zonealarm DISABLED

Sql developer won't connect with SQL server database on cluster
Hello,
I have a microsoft SQL server database on a windows cluster. Name for this cluster is like XXX/YYY
When I try to connect to this database with SQL developer, I get a failure, mentioning:
"Status : Failure -Cannot connect to Miscrosoft SQL Server on XXX/YYY"
As far as I know, I have installed the correct jtds driver (version 1.2.5), since I can connect to sql server databases on single server hosts.
Does anyone know how to connect to databases on windows clusters?

Try this is in the port box
1433/dbname;instance=YYY
dbname can be omitted

1/Giving an instance name in SQLDeveloper connection to SQL Server (from August 2011)
MS SQL Server Connection
The correct syntax to deal with this is in the port box
1433/dbname;instance=instance
dbname can be omitted
2/cluster configuration (uses instance name)

where vvv\iii is the cluster address: jdbc address is:
"jdbc:sqlserver://vvv;instanceName=iii"

Hi,
Suddenly I got this error in SCVMM 2012-R2 Roll-up 1:
When working with User-Roles (create/update) or assigning a Cloud :
"VMM encountered a critical exception and created an exception report....
search user forums for well-known failure root causes for self-help" (how sweet)... (if it's "well known", why not coding the exception handling correctly?)
The relevant part of the report might be this:
"SCVMM Version=3.2.7620.0
SCVMM flavor=C-buddy-RTL-AMD64
Default Assembly Version=3.2.7620.0
Executable Name=vmmservice.exe
Executable Version=3.2.7510.0
Base Exception Target Site=140717670746840
Base Exception Assembly name=System.Data.dll
Base Exception Method Name=System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError
Exception Message=Unable to connect to the VMM database because of a general database failure.
Ensure that the SQL Server is running and configured correctly, then try the operation again."
(side question: what does this mean: "Ensure that the SQL Server is ... configured correctly"?
I can say that :
SQL is configured by the book, that all services are running (did a reboot of VMM server too) and that all other VMM functions work OK. I don't believe that SQL is only used for user-roles...
Acting as Domain admin and VMM admin.
All updates are installed.
Please find the report @the and and a screen shot attached.
Thanks for any help.

Thomas.I (quite honestly) am one of those folks that generally do not read the KB articles associated with a patch or UR or SP - as you don't expect details like have been put into this particular one.
But as Kristian pointed out - within that KB article is the SQL script that modifies / updates this SQL Stored Procedure.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/scvmm/archive/2014/01/29/how-to-update-scvmm-2012-r2-to-update-rollup-1.aspx
Needless to say, the feedback was given to MSFT that folks would overlook that this SQL script needed to be run. So we are just trying to help out.

Office 2013 SP1 update on client no longer allows connection to Office Telemetry Database
I have just updated my machine with Office 2013 SP1 and have found that I can no longer connect to the Office Telemetry Database. It fails with a Database Connection Failure. The database needs to be updated.
I can connect fine from the server locally so just wondering if someone can confirm that the telemetry server needs updated to SP1 before it will allow my machine to connect?
ThanksHi,
We haven't heard such report after Office 2013 SP1 released. We will monitor on this problem and we will let you know if we found that the problem was caused by SP1. Meanwhile, we can try to uninstall SP1 to see if the problem persists.
Best Regards,

Connecting to an Oracle database after clicking on a foi
Does anyone know how or have any examples on how to connect to an oracle database after clicking on a 'feature of interest' in MapViewer? I want to be able to click on a 'feature of interest' on the map, and have a list of records from an oracle table displayed using the identified key of the foi. I am able to create the feature of interest, and add the event listener for 'mouse click', but am unsure how to connect to the database at this point. I have been able to connect to the database in a different jsp, but not from here. Thank you.
1. Create a JSP page that does the database query. It should take the foi id as an input parameter.
2. In the foi mouse click listener, display the JSP page in iframe. The iframe can be placed outside the map or inside the info window. The function should do something like this.
function myClickListener(point, foi)
mapview.displayInfoWindow(point, "<iframe id='my_iframe_id' frameborder=0 width=300px height=400px />", 300, 400) ;
var myIframe = document.getElementById("my_iframe_id") ;
myIframe.src = "http://myhost/myjsp?key=" + foi.id ;

Remote Database connection error on local database while running a procedur
Dear Gurus,
I am trying to run a procedure to grant Select Access to all objects of a schema to all schema but getting below error messages:
Error report:
ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found
This is on local database and all required privileges have been given to run this procedure but I dont understand why this error is being thrown every time. I am able to fetch all the tables directly (i.e. SELECT object_name FROM user_objects where OBJECT_TYPE IN('TABLE','VIEW','MATERIALIZED VIEW') AND STATUS='VALID')
Kindly let me know if you have any solution.

Edited by: 877938 on Mar 20, 2013 12:27 AMHi,
It seems you are fetching records from one database to other. for that you need to create dblink for that.
Create dblink first and then try to fetch records using that dblink.
ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found
Cause: An attempt was made to connect or log in to a remote database using a connection description that could not be found.
Action: Specify an existing database link. Query the data dictionary to see all existing database links. See your operating system-specific Net8 documentation for valid connection descriptors. -
Error while creating JDBC connection pool for MSSQL database
Hi,
From my windows m/c, I am trying to configure a connection pool to connect to
an MSSQL database on another m/c. While setting the targets, i get the error :-
<Mar 11, 2004 6:17:52 PM GMT+08:00> <Error> <JDBC> <Cannot startup connection
pool "gcdb_connpool" Cannot load driver class: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver>
I have added the path of the jars for the driver in the classpath.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.Hi. Read the weblogic startup script, and follow how it creates
a classpath argument for the server. You must get the driver jars
into that classpath.

Connecting to a MySQL Database
I just installed the XAMPP control panal that gives me the graphic user interface for Mysql server.
I'm trying to connect Dreamweaver to a database I created on my local server using XAMPP.
In Dreamweaver when I try to connect to the mysql server (and create a new database from within dreamweaver), I get an error message in a dialog box saying:
HTTP Error code 404 file not found. Here are some possible reasons for the problem:
1) There is no testing server running on this machine.
2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to the http://localhost/_mmserverscripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verify that the URL prefix maps to the root of the site.
I'm sure number 1 is taken care of because of the XAMPP, but I honestly can't figure out what the heck number 2 is trying to say... I've looked through the XAMPP root folder for the _mmserverscripts/MMHTTPDB.php but I have no idea what i'm doing or where I'm doing it with this error.
I've consulted a search through the forums for this problem and I've been following the dreamweaver support manuals.
This stumps me.
Can anyone please help?Use the following tutorial to help you define your PHP site correctly in Dreamweaver: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setting_up_php_05.html.

SishaniI've solved the DW problem by changing the site folders from
'db' to 'wwwroot' e.g. 'C:\CFusionMX\db\' is now
'C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\
However I'm now back to my original problem. I've lost my
mqysql connection in CF Adminstrator. Before I made these changes I
could connect to my mysql databases using the following settings:
JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test
Driver Name: MySQL Connector J
using the following Java path and file:
C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\WEB-INF\lib\mysql-connector-java-3.0.17-ga-bin.jar
Now these settings give me the following error:
"Connection verification failed for data source: javaserver
[]java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool
while attempting to connect, please check your username, password,
URL, and other connectivity info.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException
occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your
username, password, URL, and other connectivity info"
Any suggestions on this would also be welcome.
Thanks again to everyone for their help.
Sincerely,
Graham A. Kerby -
P6 user name is not valid for connecting to the reporting database
No data is available because your P6 user name is not valid for connecting to the reporting database
I am getting above error in the following environment:
P6 running on wls instance 1.
BI Publisger running on wls instance 2
MS SQL server 2005
Note that the error appears when I clink on the 'Reports' tab in P6. My admin user on P6 has access to report/analyser modules.
To connect P6 to BI Publisher I am using 'PxRptUser' in the P6 configuration for Bi Publisher. I know as well that the WSDL URL is correct and I can test this in SoapUI tool.
In BI publisher I have created the PMDB data source using PxRprUser, and the test of this connection works.
(Because the report samples come with Oracle flavoured SQL that SQL server does not like, I have configured BI Publisher so I have just a single report left that sources it data from an xml file. This works in BI Publisher. It also helps me in that I do not need to add 'WHERE' clauses and parameters required for SQL server?)
Furthermore, using a DB tool, I can connect to my SQL server using PxRPTUser.
So why do I get the error above?
I picked up somewhere that I should not be adding users to BI Publisher. Funny enough, testing the 'login' method the BI Publisher exposes through its WSDL (as above) I noticed I HAD to create the user PxRptUser in BI publisher application itself (on top of PxRptUser in database) for the login web service to work with PxRptUser
That did not solve the connection between P6 and BI Publisher though. What am I missing ...
Edited by: user3674522 on 10/11/2011 20:16Thought I found something but can't repliacte, som issue is still there:
Had a look at the wls instance logs where BI publisher is running, and the error I get is:
111111_023646955][][ERROR] javax.naming.NamingException: Unresolved naming: cn=admin, dc=user, dc=users, dc=principals at [cn=admin]
That user, admin, is the one I have used to access P6. Why is this passed on to BI Publisher? I thought the idea was that the PxRptUser set in BI Publisher configurations in P6 would be used?
