Connection to iCal server refused

I have a mobileme account that works fine on my iPhone, but on my macbook everytime I open the application the exclamation point triangle appears next to the mobileme name and says the connection to the server cal.me.com was refused.
Ever since apple upgraded the mobileme calendar on their website it doesn't seem to work properly. any suggestions.
Also the Mobileme online calendar takes forever to load on the webpage or it never appears. its just the spinning icon indicating that it is loading.

That should fix you.

  • How can I stop iCal from trying to connect to the server during corrections?

Recently, my iCal lost the connection to my gmail calendar (and my wife's), and as I was trying to fix it (by replacing the @ in the server address with a &40-something), it turned out that iCal started trying to connect again - but this time it had lost the proper password.
Now, it says something like "Server connection error: make sure you have the right password" - and then I'm supposed to click OK. When I do that, iCal immediately starts trying to reconnect, and I simply didn't have time to change my password or anything. Back to square one.
I figured I should reboot, but the iMac won't let me shut down before I've shut down iCal, which again can't be done before the "Server connection.."-dialog is closed. Back to square one.
My system is OS X 10.6.7, on a 2011 iMac.

Quit iCal from the dock.   To do this, click and hold on the iCal icon (in the dock), and select Quit from the pop-up menu and release the click to Quit the app.
If that fails, then click on the icon in the dock again (and while still holding the click on the icon ) press the Option key, and select Force Quit from the pop-up and release to Force Quit the app.
I'd go after the iCal server setting via the iCal > Preferences > Accounts panel, if that's not what you're trying here.
And if that fails, then reboot (probably unnecessary, but...), disconnect from the WiFi, launch iCal, and clean up the configuration error that way.  iCal should get a different error on a network disconnect, and should then let you access the preferences.
    The AppleScript category?  Eh?

  • I am having trouble with the updates to firefox. Each time I start it I get a page that says proxy server refusing connections and have to reinstall the old version just to use the internet. That also removes the personas from my browser.

I currently have version 3.0.10 and have gotten two prompts to upgrade my version of firefox and each time I do install the new version and then try to start up Firefox, I get a page instead that says proxy server is refusing connections and the only way to browse is to re-install the old version. I also have to re-install the old version at least 3 times before I can use Personas.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy

  • Getting "Server refused to allocate pty" when connecting from ssh

    Hi All,
I am getting "Server refused to allocate pty" when connecting from ssh to our Solaris 10 8/07 server. I searched in goggle but couldn't find a solution. But from telnet, all users are able to login without any problems. My ssh is default one that comes with sol 10.
Please help if anybody has a solution for this
    Thanks in advance.

I am seeing this on a sparc solaris 10. root can ssh in and the console is fine but regular users cannot
ssh in . Do you have any suggestions for sparc solaris 10? I don't believe the mount suggestion makes
    sense in my environment.
My root drive crashed so I resinstalled solaris but now ssh does not work. telnet works fine but I don't like
    telnet.
    I get
Server refused to allocate pty and
    Server send disconnect message
    type2 (SSH_DISCONNECT_PROTOCOL_ERROR)
"Could not create socket pairs: permission denied"
    Thanks

  • Can connect to server, cannot connect through Ical/chat/etc

Hi all I seem to be having trouble with Ical on my mac os x server. Error message as follows.
    Connection Failed
There may be a problem with the server or network. Check the settings for account "XXXXX" or try again.
    Account "XXXXX" network is unreachable.
The error message I see whenever I attempt to connect to our server via Ical.
I have set through setup through server preferences Ical and the like. I can connect to the server in every other way I have tried, from ping to screen share and via finder. So nothing wrong with the connection.
    Things I've tried.
    Restarting the entire network.
Reinstalling the server os on the server computer and setting up everything again.
    Turned off firewall.
    Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the usual basic troubleshooting:
    1) Repair Permissions in Disk Utility, then reboot.
    If that doesn't work,
    2) Re-apply the latest Combo Update in safe mode (boot while holding shift).

    Hi All,
I am getting the following error when I tried to test the system connectivity from the portal to NSP instance.

Both NSP and J2E instances are on the same server. OS - win2k3.
I checked the services file and have the sapmsNSP entry.
I am able to launch an SAP transaction from System Administration -> Support
RZ70 from NSP also fails JCo error. SLD_UC RFC itself works fine and the JCo RFC provider SLD_UC program is running
WEB AS & ITS connections work fine.
User authentication is from backend, NSP.
I think I have gone thru all the logs but could not resolve the issue.
I appreciate any help on this,
    Victor

I tried to go thru the thread. I did not find any clue as why only server connectivity is failing. ABAP trial version is running fine and the NW trial version is working fine too. These run without crashing. I did a lot of customizing on the portal but dont see any issues except the System Connectivity. Like I mentioned I did UME configuration to point to NSP ABAP instance and I can log into the portal with user credentials that I use to login to ABAP.  I can launch webgui etc without any issues.

  • Dbca xlib connection to "0.0" refused by server errror

i am using oracle enterprise linux 5.4 in virtual machine and i am trying to create a new database using the DBCA
    but when i do this
    an error is returned
XLib: connection to "0.0" refused b server
    XLib: no protocol specified
    exception in thread main
    how to rectify it??

This is often an indication of doing things in the wrong order.
Step 1: Log on to the computer that has an XWindows screen
Step 2: Tell that screen to accept remote requests by issuing "xhost +"
Step 3: Log on to the computer / user that is to use the XWindows
Step 4: Tell that to display on the computer that is to be used for display using export DISPLAY=(host):display.screen
Step 5: Run the program that needs a display
Many people log in to root on the computer and then su to oracle to do the installs. While this is fundamentally a stupid thing to do, because using root unnecessarily increases potential security risks and is it NOT good practice and will it NOT be allowed in any self-respecting business, the following would be the sequence
    1) Log on to XWindows as root
    2) Open a terminal
    3) enter 'xhost +'
    4) enter 'su - oracle'
    5) enter 'export DISPLAY=:0.0'
    6) runInstaller (or use whatever installer is required)
The most common mistake is running xhost after su. This will not work. The xhost must be issued by the first user - the one that owns the screen.

(Only newbies and people who do not plan on being in a production environment will learn the habit of logging in as root anyway. There is NO production environment that I have encountered that will let people, even System Administrators, use root on a regular basis without explicit justification.)
The simplest solution is usually to log out - all the way out - and then log in as Oracle. Then try the runInstaller again and post the results.

  • 10.5.8 machine connect to 10.7.5 iCal server?

Every Mac in our office is on 10.7.5 except one, which is running 10.5.8 in order to run some old software that we still need and is not compatible with newer OS systems. Our server is also 10.7.5.
All Macs have iCal accounts on the server and it works great. They connect and share calendar, no issues.
The 10.5.8 machine won't connect to the server…it keeps saying the username / password are incorrect. I am 100% positive that the password and username are indeed correct…the Mac connects to the server for file sharing just fine using the same credentials. What can I do to connect the 10.5.78 machine to the 10.7.5 server for iCal sharing?
I don't know technical stuff like how to use Terminal unless you spell out the terminal command for me. I am a graphic designer, not a techie. Please spell out your solutions/suggestions. I'll provide whatever other info you might need to help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
11.7.700.279 is not supported on OS X 10.5.8.  Flash Player 10.3.183.90 is the last version supported on 10.5.8.  10.3.183.90 is available here.  It's also available in the Archived Flash Player Versions page.

  • Web server refuses connections - Service exited with abnormal code: 1

I have upgraded to yosemite 10.10.1, my web server refuses to allow connections and I get - Service exited with abnormal code: 1, in the log file. I have reloaded server software and I have rebooted and power restarted my Mac Mini many times

Fixed this stupid iTunes issue with the following procedure. YMMV
    - Open the Activity Monitor (LaunchPad, Other, Activity Monitor)
    - Force Quit the iTunes Helper app (I had multiply ones running, so quit them all)
    - Install the iTunes .pkg from the Apple website.
    - Force Quit the iTunes Helper again after install
    - Shut Down the MacBook
    - Start again (watch for the progress bar, that’s the fix for permissions working)
    - Start iTunes
You mileage may vary, but it worked for me.

  • Firefox 3.6 won't load properly because of the error "Proxy server refusing connections".

I tried to download Firefox 3.6 but it wouldn't finish loading because of the message " Proxy server refusing connections". How do I over ride this problem? The last couple of days my firefox 3.5.2 has been crashing or locking up almost every time I opened it. It got so frustrating that I tried downloading 3.6 to see if it would work any better. No luck so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I run Windows 2000 XP.

Go to Tools --> Options --> Advanced --> Network --> Settings and choose "Do not use Proxy" to see if that helps.

  • Won't connect: "The proxy server is refusing connections." Why? How do I fix it?

I am not a computer person--the machine is a super typewrrriter and research aid; like an auto, it should just run when you buy it. But. I got a virus; tried my amatuer best to correct or fix things. The computer runs now, but will only access Internet Explorer, and Firefox is my browser of choice. Now when I click on Firefox the opening screen starts, then carries the message: "The Proxy Server is refusing connections."

  • Proxy server refused connections

Everytime I try to open Firefox and go online, I get the msg "proxy server refused connection". I tried going to options and choosing auto detect proxy and no proxy. They both allow me to go online but when I close Firefox, the settings I did aren't saved and I need to go to options again and change the settings. It's a hassle to go through this all the time. Help pls.

You can try to create a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles?s=profile&r=0&e=sph&as=s new profile] and see if the problem goes away. i.e. in Windows Start menu > '''Run''' (or press Windows key + '''R'''), type and enter '''firefox -p -no-remote''' > '''Create Profile''', after finishing select the newly created profile, '''Start Firefox''', edit and save the proxy settings and restart in the newly created profile. If the profile is okay, you can later [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile?s=profile&r=1&e=sph&as=s copy] needed data like bookmarks, passwords etc. from the previous profile to the new profile and delete the previous profile.
If the problem persists, it could be a security software that is trying to transparently proxy Firefox and may also be reverting the Firefox proxy changes. You may have to go into the security software settings and exempt Firefox/[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder or Files].

  • Xlib:  connection to ":2.0" refused by server

    Hi,
I'm new to Oracle and am attempting to install database 10g version 2 on RHEL4 xLinux system and need help in getting past an installation error.
When running ./runInstaller, it passes installer requirements, but gets an error stating:
Xlib: connection to ":2.0" refused by server
    Xlib: No protocol specified
This is immediately followed by java error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':2.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

    A few pointers:
    1) Do not log on to Linux as root. Make sure the graphical screen is owned by oracle
    2) If necessary, set your permissions to wide-open by using xhost + ... do not leave in this mode for long if you are concerned about security
    3) Set the DISPLAY variable, usually to DISPLAY=:0.0 or DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
This is a common error. Internet search will provide good answers
