Connection to mail server where my web application is hosted

I'm trying to connect to the smtp mail server run on my web application host (mail.hhraweb.com).  I can't seem to get to it anymore on port 25
c:\users\dad>telnet mail.hhraweb.com 25
Connecting To mail.hhraweb.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port
25: Connect failed
My ? is, is Verizon blocking access to other mail servers on port 25?

    Hello,
    can everybody help for the fault, or had the same error ?
    500 Internal Server Error
      BEx Web Application
    Failed to process request; contact your system administrator
    Error Summary
    Exception occured while processing the current request; this exception cannot be handled by the application or framework
    If the information on this page does not help you locate and correct the cause of the problem, contact your system administrator
    To facilitate analysis of the problem, keep a copy of this error page Hint: Most Web browsers allow you to select all content, and copy and paste it into an empty document (such as in an email or simple text file)
    Root Cause
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:
    Cannot get connection for 60 seconds. Possible reasons: 1) Connections are cached within SystemThread(can be any server service or any code invoked within SystemThread in the SAP J2EE Engine), 2) The pool size of adapter "SAPFactory" is not enough according to the current load of the system or 3) The specified time to wait for connection is not enough according to the pool size and current load of the system. In case 1) the solution is to check for cached connections using the Connector Service list-conns command, in case 2) to increase the size of the pool and in case 3) to increase the time to wait for connection property. In case of application thread, there is an automatic mechanism which detects unclosed connections and unfinished transactions.

    When the system status says icloud is OK but logon reports "encountered an error when connecting to the server", where do you report the problem, or how do you connect?

    Yes i am hoping staff here will look into things, even if i can not get the speeds back what i previously had for near 6 months it would be nice to know why i can not and why the download has dropped by around 10Mb and why my upload is now inconsistant.
    Ironically the post concerned got edited because i actually posted the full rather silly reply the Indian call centre made babbling on about down rates rather than the uprate i queried with them.
    Bit of a shambles really no real way on BTs web site to contact anyone with regards to broadband issues.
    The form which you kindly suggested and i appreciated your help ended up in the hands of someone who either did not bother to read the query or just had such a poor grasp of English they did not understand the query.
    Pretty pathetic really when BT are the largest telco in the UK. I think ill be taking my broadband business elsewhere regardless at the end of my 18 month contract, while im sure staff here are wonderful and may even yet help me, i do not particularly want to go through the almost like pulling teeth pain of getting any future issue looked at.
    They are great at quickly fixing voice line problems and have a great test on their site. Broadband side of things and support for that though seems a shambles.

  • IOS 4 : removing the "can't connect to mail server" messages

    Ok, since the new Mail in iOS 4 have a "global inbox", everytime i open the app without being connected on the internet, it send me 5 "can't connect to mail server" message. So i have to click "OK" five times before being able to use the app. It does that even when WiFi is set to off.
    Am i the only one ? Is there a setting for that ? Do I have to wait for iOS 4.1 ? Does god really exist ?

    Your email provider has servers. There are no Thunderbird servers. Thunderbird is email client software that runs on your computer.
    Contact your email provider about server issues.

  • What do you do when you get a 'connection to mail server failed' message?

    What do you do when you get a "connection to mail server failed" message?

    if it used to work and you did not change anything then it's most likely the internet connection or the mail provider server which are having the  problem in which case you wait
    if not then they changed their settings and you needs to adjust to their new settings
    or your carrier changed their settings so they block the required ports

  • Best practice for keeping a mail session open in web application?

    Hello,
    We have a webmail like application where users login with their IMAP credentials, then are taken to an authenticated area of the site where they can manage different things about their email account.
    Right now the application is opening and closing a mail store connection (via a new javax.mail.Session) for each page load based on the current logged in user credentials. To me this seems like it would be a bad practice to keep opening and closing a connection each page load.
    Are there any best practices for this situation? It would be nice to be able to open the connection to the mail server on login, then keep that connection open until the person logs out, session expires, etc.
    I can probably put the javax.mail.Session into the HTTP session, but that seems like it would break any clustering functionality of tomcat. This would be fine if the machine the user is on didn't fail, but id assume if they failed over to another the mail session would be gone. Maybe keeping the mail session in the http session, checking for a connection, then first attempting to reconnect with the logged in credentials before giving up would be a possiblity?
    Any pointers would be appreciated

    If you keep the connection open across pages, you're going to need to deal with
    timeouts - from the http session and from the mail server.
    If you don't keep the connection open, you're going to need to "resynchronize"
    your view of the store/folder with each operation, in case the folder is modified
    by another session.
    The former is easier in the common cases, especially if you don't care how gracefully
    you handle failures. The latter is more difficult in the common cases, but handles
    failure better, and in particular handles clustering better. You'll need to measure it to
    see if it meets your performance and scalability requirements. You may need to mix
    the two approaches to get acceptable performance.

  • Can't connect to mail server - DNS Server settings?

    Hello:
    Let me preface this question by saying that computer networking is not my strong suit.
    Last week I moved our web hosting from our ISP to Lunarpages; our domain is marshall-arts.net. I set up some POP email accounts on our new mail servers and was able to successfully send and receive email wirelessly using our G4 ibook. However, none of our networked desktop systems could connect to our new mail server, although they could connect to our ISP's mail server; they also have no problem connecting to the web. The mail server and user names were identical between the desktop systems and the ibook. But upon closer examination of the TCP/IP settings of the ibook I found that the ibook had 209.253.113.10 entered into the DNS Servers (optional) field. That field was blank in the desktop systems. Once I entered that address into the DNS Servers field on the desktop systems they had no problem connecting to our Lunarpages mail servers.
    Here's our setup, as best as I can describe it:
    We have an AirPort Extreme connected to our DSL router. It's connected via ethernet, configured manually with a static IP, router and DNS server addresses provided by our ISP. It's set to distribute IP addresses with the AirPort client computers sharing a single IP address using DHCP and NAT (10.0.1.1. addressing). It's connected via ethernet to a Linksys gigabit ethernet switch to which we have connected three desktop Macs running OS 10.3.x and 10.4.x.
    The TCP/IP of the three desktop systems and the ibook are configured Using DHCP.
    As I wrote above, only the ibook had an address entered into the DNS Servers field, 209.253.113.10. This doesn't correspond to anything our ISP provided (those addresses are entered in the AirPort Extreme.) I have no idea where it came from.
    So I have two questions:
    Would that address have been generated automatically while setting up the AirPort connection on the ibook?
    Why would that supposedly optional DNS Server address be required for me to connect to our new mail servers (but not our old ISP mail servers)?
    Thank you.

  • Viewing Crystal Report Server reports in web application

    I would like to create a .net web application (Visual Studio 2005) to connect to a Crystal Reports Server (XI R2), retrieve a list of reports and then view the reports in crystalreportviewer embedded in the app. Since the BusinessObjects XI .Net Providers does not include crystalreportviewer, it looks like I will need to use Crystal Reports .NET for VisualStudio runtime.
    1) Even though the third party would have a licensed Crystal Reports Server would they need an additional license for the use of crystalreportviewer provided in the Crystal Reports .Net runtime?
    2) Is there another option for using crystalreportviewer without installing the entire crystal reports .net runtime? The reports will  not be modified in any way, they will just be viewed in a web app. I have previously used OpenDocument to view the reports, but that is not an option in this case.
    Thanks,
    Coleen

    Hey koko1313,
    I understand that you are looking for the crystalreportviewer control.
    You can get the viewer by installing the sdk from the CRS XIR2 installation disc.
    Insert disc,
    do a custom install,
    Unselect all components and select 'businessobjects enterprise .net sdk' from under Client components and finish the installation.
    The above steps should update the viewer on you dev box.
    Note that sdk should be installed the similiar way on any machine where you deploy the app. No need for sdk if you are deploying to a box with CRServer XIR2 installed.
    I do not know anything regarding the licensing question for third party, but cr.net sdk custom app a separate license need to be purchased by third party.Sorry!
    cheers!!!

  • Send mail from a weblogic web application

    Hello,
    I'd like to know what is the best way to send mails, possibly many mails, from a web application, using weblogic8.
    Actually I use :
          try {
            URL u = new URL("mailto: ...");
            URLConnection c = u.openConnection();
            c.setDoInput(false);
            c.setDoOutput(true);
            c.connect();
            PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(c.getOutputStream()));
            out.println("From: ...");
            out.println("To: ... ");
            out.println("...");
            out.close();
          catch (Exception ex)
             ex.printStackTrace();
          }But when I do load tests, many of the mails send are not delivered...
    Thanks a lot !
    And sorry for my poor english !

    The best way is to use a SMTP server and the JavaMail API...

  • Database connection error | created a new datasource | web application

    Hi,
    I am trying to deploy a J2EE web application on SAP Netweaver 7.0. I have to connect to a Oracle database schema (Not the default schema used by SAP). I am using Java and JDBC to make connections to the database.
    In order to accomplish this, I created a new data source in Visual Admin. Referenced this in the web.xml and deployed the application. The application is deployed successfully, without any errors or warnings.
    However, when ever the Java program connects and executes a prepared statement, I get this error in the database logs
    bc.direct.DirectPreparedStatement#Java#com.sap.sql_0003#com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLResourceBundle#SQL error occurred on connection xxxx111:xxx:xxx: code=942, state="42000", message="ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    #solad011:pidb:PIUSER#SELECT "XMLVALUE" FROM "BC_DDDBTABLERT" WHERE "NAME" = ?#
    In java code, there are no references to this table "BC_DDDBTABLERT". I am trying to execute a SQL select for entirely different table. Why I am I getting this error?

    Hi,
    System copy NW 70 - Error in "export from java database" phase
    I am doing system copy of BI7.0 (Abap+Java) stack, I am getting error in

    When I tried to run the query mentioned in SAP Note 1120872: ,

  • FTP Server in SAP Web Application Server

    Hi,
    Would like to know if SAP Web Application Server comes with built-in FTP Server.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    FTP Server is not built in WAS. Integrate third-party products, tools, and applications, SAP Web Application Server supports several open connectivity standards, including the J2EE Connector Architecture and Microsoft .NET connectivity.
    A wide range of protocols and formats is supported for communication with SAP, non-SAP, and third-party components. SAP Web Application Server is open to the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), Component Object Model+ (COM+), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and SMTP to connect to non-SAP systems.
    IDoc and HTTP adapters sit on ABAP stack and the rest of the adapters(File, JDBC, SOAP etc) sit on JAVA stack.
    File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is an open protocol for exchanging files on a server.

  • Unable to connect to mail server

    Something changed in the last 24 hours. Yesterday I was able to send and receive mail using Apple Mail and my POP account. Today I cannot get to the mail server.
    I have been on the phone with my ISP: Completely unhelpful, will not help with supporting a POP account that isn't "theirs".
    I have been on the phone multiple times with my email host (GoDaddy). They have walked through resetting accounts on both Apple Mail and trying Entourage to see if that worked instead. They gave up, saying that since I can get inot my mail account using their web-based client, the problem is't theirs.
    Both clients on my MacBook give basically the same error messsage, that the mail server timed out.
    Apple Mail error is: The connection to the server on port 110 timed out.
    Connection Doctor says that mail is connected to the internet, smtp is connected and working, but couldn't connect to the POP server.
    I haven'tinstalled any software between yesterday and today, and desperately need a mail client, any mail client, to work again!
    Thanks in advance for any help!
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Yes, I am using OS X 10.4.6. My MacBook just arrived in the post a couple of days ago...
    I just went to Sys preferences and temporarily disabled all the communication options other than the one I am using.
    I connect to the internet through a external dial-up modem. My internet connection is fine (using ti right now to send this post), and still the smpt outbound shows connected and working in Connection Doctor. It's still just the actual connect to the mail account.
    I'd ideally like to figure out weither this is an Apple problem, and ISP problem, or a mail hosting problem so I know whoo to hound to help me fix it.

  • CF10 IIS7.5 Cannot connect to mail server

    I recently did an sbs migration from sbs 2003 to sbs 2011. On the 2011 box I installed ColdFusion 10, but I cannot get my mail server verified in the administrator. I am able to telnet newserver.domain.local 25 successfully, however I cannot use that same server name in the CF admin to connect to the mail server. I keep getting the error "Connection Verification Failed! " in the CF Admin when I try to verify the mail server. I noticed an error in mail.log that says: "javax.mail.MessagingException: Unknown SMTP host: oldserver.domain.local; nested exception is: java.net.UnknownHostException: oldserver.domain.local". The old server name is being used and I do not know why. I've been through all the sbs migration steps to clean up DNS so I'm not sure where ColdFusion is getting that old server name in the Unknown SMTP host error. I double checked DNS did a flushdns and restarted ColdFusion, but no luck so far.
    If anyone has any other ideas how to troubleshoot this I'd greatly appreciate the advice.

    I figured out the SMTP host issue. I had some code in some old cfmail tags that had the server "oldserver.domain.local" hard coded. I removed that server property from the cfmail tag so it would default to what was in the CF administrator.
    Now I'm getting this error in the mail log: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay
    I'm not sure how to safely enable relaying on Exchange 2010. I think it has something to do with the recipient connector. Any assistance would be fantastic.
