Connection to Office Virtual Machine through IE keep dropping

Hello there,
I hope I posting the question to correct topic/group, if not please suggest the correct topic.
I am using windows 8.1 ( Not Pro) to connect to my office Virtual machine. The connection procedure as follows.
Open a browser type an URL, which asks for credentials
Enter your credentials including RSA key
For first time connection,  a F5 plugin will be installed for browser [ IE only accepts the plugin if you make the website in compatibility enabled]
successful connection to office Virtual machine
Now the problem begins, the connection to VM keep dropping for every 50 seconds and automatically connects back after 50 seconds. It is bugging me for a while.
I had no problem using this feature from other WINDOWS 7 laptop.
PLEASE HELP and thanks in advance,

Hi,
This should be caused by compatible issue or security settings, since this plugin can only work in compatible mode.
Regarding current situation, please first let me know what program you use to create office VM, VMware or Hyper-v or others?
I suggest we try following steps to check the issue:
Step 1: Put this site in Trusted sites.
Step 2: Uncheck the Protected mode.
Step 3: If there is any third part security applications, please disable it or remove it for testing, since such program has IE protection which sometimes prevent you from connecting RDP console in IE.
Step 4: Please disable other add-ons in Manage add-ons to see what’s going on.
Step 5: Let’s use the lower document mode in F12 developer tool.
Post back the results and event log for further research.

  • Not able to connect Azure Linux Virtual Machine with Putty

    Hi,
I am not bale to connect Azure Linux Virtual Machine with Putty... Error shows "Network error: connection timed out".
    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Thanks, Kk

    Hi TechSol01,
    Thanks for posting here.
I suggest you to try the below steps
On a computer running a Windows operating system, you might want to use an SSH client such as PuTTY. For more information, see the
    PuTTY Download Page.
On a computer running a Linux operating system, you might want to use an SSH client such as OpenSSH. For more information, see
    OpenSSH.
If it is the endpoint configuration, you can go to the portal and add port 22, (it should already be there by default).
Now if it is locked out of the VM because of the firewall on the VM, which is called iptables , You won't be able to connect to the VM,
If you haven’t configured the port 22. You may have to follow the below steps :
A = Original VM (Inaccessible VM)
B = New VM (New Temp VM)
    1)  Stop VM  A via the Azure management portal
    2) Delete VM A BUT select “keep the attached disks”
    3) Once the lease is cleared, attach the Data Disk from A to VM B via the Azure Portal, Virtual Machines, Select “B”, Attach Disk
    4) On VM “B” eventually the disk will attach and you can then mount it.
    5) Locate the drive name to mount, on VM “B” look in relevant log file note each linux is slightly different.
    grep SCSI /var/log/kern.log (ubuntu)
grep SCSI /var/log/messages (centos, suse, oracle)
    6) Mount the attached disk onto mountpoint /tempmount
    df -h
    mkdir /tempmount
    mount /dev/sdc1 /tempmount
    df –h
    7) Now you should be able to clear the rules set from the configuration file of the firewall, by accessing it
    through /tempmount
Let me know if this works

Can you connect from powershell? get-vmmserver <VMMServerComputerName>
If this doesn't work it's likely that your VMM server doesn't work. Check Application log to see if there are errors related to VMM service.
You can also collect traces as described
here and attach them to this thread.
Are you using a domain administrator account?  (this is the default allowed after SCVMM is installed - until other users are added).
also try restarting VMM server or VMM services once.
this occur if the SQL database owner is indicated as NULL.  Try adding the SQL SA account as db owner.

  • Problem to connect to VMware virtual machine in VMM

I have a problem to connect to the VMware virtual machine console through the VMM Admin Console. I get the message "For a connection with this virtual VMware machine necessary ActiveX object is not installed. Would like you to install the VMware ActiveX element now?"
If I click "yes", IE opens. To the installation of this ActiveX element I've added the web access side of the VMware-Host to the trustworthy sites in IE. I've also disabled the strengthened security configuration for IE. But it did not help.
    What can I still try?
    Thx

The most common problem getting the activeX installed is that the VMware infrastructure web portal has not been setup completely. It is from that portal that the activeX is downloaded and installed. Ensure that the VMware infrastructure portal has been setup
and configured for SSL. The Url we attempt to get theactiveX from is https://HostName/ui/plugin/msie/vmware-mks.cab
Uhm, yea, that URL is invalid. Maybe it was for vCenter 3.x? or 4.0 only? Does not resolve on v4.1 :(
If you are having trouble getting the activeX installed there are a couple of workarounds. One workaround is to install the VMWare Infrastructure Client onto your machine where you are running the VMM Admin Console. The Infrastructure Client installation
installs VMWare's activeX along with its own client.
Tried that... it doesn't use ActiveX anymore (still 4.1) so no go :(
Another workaround is to login to the VMware Infrastructure Web Access portal and one time connect to a VM. This will also download and install the activeX and let it work.
Tried that... it doesn't use ActiveX anymore (still 4.1) so no go :(
So basically I need either the SCVMM guys to figure out to do this in the new version from vmware or I need some vmware experts to tell me where I can find this activex component...

  • How to connect the two virtual machine .

I installed VM workstation and created two virtual machine .Please suggest me how to connect them internally each other though vm network editor.I want create RAC Setup for practice.

NAT is the default adapter type in VirtualBox, which will work in almost any configuration and networking environment. Using the NAT adapter, the host system will establish connections on behalf of the guest OS. NAT requires that the corresponding VM guest adapter uses DHCP and cannot be used to provide any services unless you configure port forwarding (>1024) at the VirtualBox VM NAT adapter.
Bridged networking is the most transparent adapter type, but requires a physical network adapter on the host OS, which is limited depending on the host system and hardware, e.g. wireless. It also requires that the user understands network and routing restrictions of the host system in case of using the interface to communicate between the host and VM. A combination of host-only and NAT may sometimes be necessary to allow the VM to connect to the internet and allow the host to communicate with the VM guest OS.
Btw, the host-only adapter IP actually works on behalf of the host OS and can be used to allow the VM to access the host system. So if Internet is not required, the NAT or bridged adapter are not required. I'm not sure if many people realize that, since it's not really mentioned in the documentation. So if you use the host-only adapter, simply use the host-only IP instead of the host system real IP to connect the VM to the host OS.
I also switched to VirtualBox a couple of years ago, mainly because it provides more VM hardware options, is free and because of the ability to manage multiple virtual machines and group them together. I have about 70 virtual machines for testing and evaluating configured on my home computer. I also like the option in VirtualBox to clone a VM based on a Snapshot.
VMware provides a Virtual Network Editor in VMware Workstation (KB 1018697), which allows to customize any of the existing virtual network adapter or add new ones. The available technologies under any Type 2 hypervisor are very similar between different products:

Edited by: Rahul K on May 17, 2013 9:12 AMExactly like you would if that virtual Windows server were a physical server in your data center.
Install your client products, including the oracle client, on your host os.
Create a tnsames file that has an entry for the database on our virtual server.
Just like a real server, your vm must have a fixed IP address so that client processes will know how to find it.

  • Connecting _from_ a windows machine through remote desktop?

I have a os x server set up so that users can get to it through vpn by logging into a specific account ( lets call it remote_user ). The users are on windows machines, and they get remote desktop running, at which point the problems start. Instead of seeing the remote_user's desktop, they see whatever happens to be on the screen at the time, even the Administrator's account, if that happens to be logged in. Furthermore, these users have full control over even the Administrator's account and are able to do whatever the administrator might be able to do locally. Is this normal behavior or is there something I should be doing otherwise. Thanks in advance!

    Further details:
the server is running on a mac mini, the internal interface is the built-in ethernet, the external interface is a usb-ethernet adapter connected directly to a cable modem. on the internal network there is a windows computer which has a program which needs to be run remotely. for this, a vpn connection to the server is established (using the vpn module in the server admin) and then the server is accessed though the virtual network that is created. the server runs wonderfully when left alone. however, when a vpn connection is made, the server lives for about 10 minutes and then freezes up. if no account is logged in on the server, the login window becomes unresponsive. if, for example, the administrator is logged in and is watching the server admin window, the server refreshes and remains that way, in a permanent refresh. if you have a preview window open reading a pdf, you are able to scroll though the pdf. you are, however unable to access any menus in the menu bar, nor start any new programs from the dock. the only way to get things up and running again is to hold down the power button. the last bit of bad news is that even after restart, the only way to get vpn up is to manually shut it down in the server administrator and to start it up again. i hope this can be resolved somehow. thanks in advance!

  • Connecting to Azure Virtual Machine with local SSMS

There is a lot of info out there about this and how to troubleshoot.  I am still not able to do this.  When I try to connect on port 1433 I get a "filtered" response (no connection).
I have verified all the setup and had someone else also verify it.
I have a Server 2012 VM that I installed SQL on myself (SQL Server 2012 Standard)
By the way, I can RDP just fine, I can do a Web Publish just fine.  It is just being about to connect SSMS that I am having issues with.
Confirmed according to several online resources including MS Azure docs.:
    1) Azure Endpoint is set up 1433
    2) Firewall on the VM has an inbound rule for 1433.  ** Note, I even tried to connect with the VM firewall turned off.
    3) SQL Server network configuration is set up correctly (listening on port 1433 is confirmed)
    4) SQL server is set to mix mode authentication
    5) I can connect locally on the VM with SSMS using a the same SQL account.
    6) SQL Server has "Allow remote connections to this server" turned on.
I have tried to connect from 2 different local networks.  Both of these have access to multiple other VM's (not Azure) and connect fine.  It is not my local firewalls blocking this.  It is not the VM firewall (turned it off!), so my only guess
is that it is the Azure Endpoint.
I did find references to Azure blocking 1433, but that seems to have been reversed.  I did try a different public port and that did not help.
Again, I have found several different help guides for this, every detail I have checked seems to be set up correctly.
    Any thoughts?

    Update as promised.
I just went ahead and created a new VM.  All is good!!!!
    Server 2012 (Datacenter)
Downloaded and installed SQL Server 2012 Standard (Basic install only need the DB engine)
Configured for mixed mode, etc.  (I did not need to change anything after the install was done)
Opened endpoints and VM firewall ports
    Tested and worked as expected
Then went ahead and installed IIS, Web Deploy and updates.
All is working as expected.  Not sure what I messed up the first go around.
If anyone comes across this and the docs don't help, just try to set up a new VM (either SQL or Server and install SQL).

  • Changin virtual machine OS but keeping the same public IP

I need to change the OS from my vm but I need to keep the same IP, because some organization's firewalls  are already configure to allow that ip, and it takes too long to ask them that allow other ip. is there a way to do this? thanks a lot!!!!!!

    Hi,
If you talked about the public IP address, then you can do as Manesh said to use a reserved IP address. Or if you have other VMs in the same cloud service, it is also possible to do that. You just need to make sure that not all the VMs in the cloud service
are in the stopped(deallocated) status, then the public IP address of the cloud service won't be changed.
However, it is recommended to use a researved IP address as the researved IP address will not change even when VMs in the cloud service are stop/deallocated.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • My iPad will connect to the Internet but my iMac keeps dropping the connection or connects very slow.

My iPad is working fine and connecting to the internet no problem. My iMac computer, when I check the system preferences and I go into network it says my network is working fine and I appear to be connected to the Internet, yet when I going try to go on safari it won't let me connect to the Internet or if it does the connection is slow. When I do manage to connect to the internet, the connection drops quickly. What do I do?

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can.
Are all network applications slow, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always slow, or only sometimes?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all slow?
If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Boot in safe mode and test. Any difference?

I have the exact same issue (running windows 2008 R2 Enterprise). I can RDP to any of the VM but simply cannot connect using console.  This is causing me grief since I have to create few more VMs and work with the existing VMs.  Without console
access, I cannot create and do any config changes for new VMs.  Can someone help. Things that I have tried so far.
    1. Exported VMs
    2 uninstalled .NET 4 & 3.5.
    3. Hyper-v role removed.
    4. Reinstalled Hyper-v, reinstalled .NET 4 & 3.5, patch current as of today.
    5. Imported the VMs back and still cannot connect.  Exactly same error.  No errors in any logs in event viewer or Hyper-v logs.
    6.  Navigated to c:\Program Files\Hyper-v and manually run the VMCONNECT.EXE app (choosing the localhost/server and appropriate VM from the list) but no dice. The app just sits there for ever without any connection.
    7.  I am baffled and surprised no one has a solution.  Tried multiple search engines.
    8. The host machine is patch current as of today and there are no patches available to try.  Reading through some forums, I have also installed some hotfixes with no luck.
    9. Finally, I can see the little graphic for each VM changing as windows is loading or stopping in server manager for hyper-v.
Hoping someone has a solution.  The error that pops up is exactly similar and no clues of the faulting module.
    Appreciate your time and help.

  • Windows Pro 8.1 Hyper-V enabled - cannot connect to Virtual Machines

I'm running Windows Pro 8.1. Virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Account is in Admin, Hyper-V, RDP groups. I open Hyper-V manager. Create a new Virtual Switch (internal) and name it. Then create a new virtual machine - name it, place it in a folder under
C:, Specify Generation (tried both 1 and 2), startup memory 512mb not dynamic, Lan- select the virtual switch created earlier, create an vhdx hard disk, and install the O.S. from an ISO on C. Creates the new VM under Virtual Machines.
I select the new VM, click connect, then start. A window opens with the new VM on server and says it's connecting to it and it's status is Running. In the Hyper-V manager  in the New Virtual Machine pane (bottom pane) it shows a image that
appears to have a login screen. The VM window that displays the "Connection to" eventually throws an error : Virtual machine connection: Cannot connect to the virtual machine, Try to connect again. contact your admin, Try again etc. selecting connect
eventually errors out with check integration services etc. I've read the logs, there are no errors. When I try to shut down or turn off the vm it doesn't respond. I've configured this before on different boxes. It's the work environment for the MCSA 70-462
training kit Preparation. any direction would be greatly appreciated.

That is correct.  This has been well documented.
The WMI namespace changed.  2008 and 2008 R2 now of the v1 virtualization namespace.  2012 knows of both v1 and v2.  And 2012 R2 only knows the v2 virtualization namespace.
That said, there is more to this.
2008 management console only knows 2008 features.  So if you connect it to a 2012 server to manage the 2012 server, you cannot manage any of the features released with 2008 R2 nor 2012.
So, take this second point, mix it with the first point and I recommend that your management server / client release matches the release of the Server you are managing.

  • Cannot connect to virtual machine in hyper-v

One of our servers got corrupted and I managed to salvage the VHDs of the two VMs we were running on it. The server was Win Serv 2003 and was running virtual server.
Now I'm trying to import the VHDs into Hyper-V on a newer 2008-R2 server and while the VM seemed to import just fine I cannot connect to it. Each time I try it gives me this error:
"Cannot connect to the virtual machine. Try to connect again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
I think the issue could be that the VM was apart of a domain and now I'm trying to connect with a server that is on a different domain and has a different DNS.
Is there anyway I can save this VM and not have to start from scratch?

    Hi,
Is Windows Server 2003 is a DC? Is there a backup DC for Windows server 2003 if it is a DC?
If you logon with domain account, you cannot connect to the origin domain if you don't have DC or you haven't restored DC. To fix this issue, you can restore Windows 7 to the point when windows 7 doesn't domain if you have such a restore point.
Also, if you have DC and still connect to the virtual machine, i recommend you to log on the Windows 7 client with local adminstrator , disjoin from origin domain, then re-join the domain. At last, it will work well.
