Connection to phone lost while restoring backup

Hi all, I have NOS 2.0.2.42 and E66.
I tried to upgrade firmware on my phon. First I did full backup, than run upgrade. At the end of uprading I got message "Connection to phone lost"! I did not disconnect my phone, battery was full.
Firmware got upgraded (300.21.012).
Now when I try to restore my backup I get error "Connection to phone lost" (phone IS STILL CONNECTED and BATTERY IS FULL).I can not restore my programs and settings!
Does anyone know how to restore backup in Nokia Ovi Suite?
Cheers,
Mike

Same problem, different phone.
Nokia 6720 classic. I can't make a backup of my data. After a while it says "lost connection to phone". I tried rebooting the device, as well as PC, installing new drivers, installing updates, installing Windows updates.
Vista with all important updates.
I also tried to backup only contacts, which is the minimum requirement. As a result it loses connection instantly. Back up your phone - select "contacts" (uncheck all boxes) - continue and it immediately loses connection to the phone.
Something tells me Nokia needs fresh and highly skilled software engineers. Because this problem seems to exist within Ovi Suite - instant connection lost instead of "complete" message.

  • Connection to phone lost while updating to v21.0.0...

Hi guys, I have a small.. or somewhat major problem. Hopefully not the latter, but I'm being hopeful. Apologies if this has already been asked, I tried searching but couldn't find a direct answer.
So after NSU downloaded all the required updates/etc, something happened, and my phone got d/c and stopped the update. This is using a WinXP computer/via USB.
Nokia troubleshooter, suggest I remove the battery and switch the phone on and reattempt the update. However, when I turn the phone on, all it does is light up and remains blank. No Nokia logo, nothing.
    Help!

Hi, i had backed up my data and then when i restored my phone with the restore backup option, all the photos, music where there but no apps. Al my apps are disappeared. Can you please tell me where are my apps backed up?

Apps (like other synced media like music) are not included in the backup that iTunes makes. Thus, restoring from backup if the apps are not in the iTunes library there are no apps to restore to the iPod.
Redownload the apps into your iTunes library.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    And then restore from backup.
Make sure that in iTunes>Preferences>Devices the box that say "Prevent iPods..." is checked otherwise when you connect the iPod to the computer the previous backup (with your app data) might be overwritten.

  • Lost new photos while restoring backup

    Hi,
I recently switched from an iphone 4 to iphone 5. Before changing the phone I had taken a backup on iTunes on my PC (Windows 7). After getting the phone 5, I used it for several days without restoring the backup from iTunes on my PC. I had taken some photos during this time. When I recently connected my phone to the PC, iTunes prompted me if I wanted to restore backup. On clicking 'Yes', I got all my old photos in the new phone but lost all the new ones I had taken. It was so frustrating.. as if you are back to your old phone!!! Are there any ways to recover the new pics?? Please let me know, I really need those new pics!!

I wonder if Apple is reading this thread. ?????????
NO... What did you expect the phone to do when you restore from a backup.
You should've imported the new pics to your computer as you would a digital camera..

  • Itunes says "restoring iphone apps" as soon as I connect my phone to the computer after ios 5 update

So I've downloaded ios5. And itunes just gets stuck at "restoring iphone apps".
even if I close itunes (which I can only do with the task mananger) and then reboot it, as soon as I connect the phone it says "restoring iphone apps" again and just gets stuck at that. So I cannot access anything on there.
Doesn't help that I now can't even use my phone at all as it keeps telling me I can't use the e-mail address that I have registered as it's already in use!!!!!
So I now have a phone that I cannot use at all! An I can't restore on itunes because it gets stuck in that loop if I plug it in!

The same happened to me. While it's restoring apps, you will be able to set up your ipod with iOS5. You can do that without disconnecting it from your computer. It will take quite a long time but it will go from restoring ipod apps, to restore music, videos and pictures. Be patient and it will finish the process in a few hours.

    Hi,
Since the error ORA-19809 indicates the lack of space in flash recovery area during the media recovery, I suggested increasing the value of the parameter DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST_SIZE.
Yes, during the media recovery the RMAN will restore the archived log to the default destination (only if the required archived logs are not already on the disks). You can confirm the restore location of the archived log in RMAN restore log/destination specified by parameters log_archive_dest_1/db_recovery_file_dest.

  • Wi-Fi connection lost while using anything but safari

hi everybody. I am using an iPad 4 in my home Wi-Fi environment (amongst iMac & iPhone). When I browse with safari, everything works fine, always. But when I use the youtube app, for example, the iPad looses the WiFi connection after a short while/few minutes. I have to manually re-activate my network choosing it from the list of available networks, which works, again, only for a few minutes. Then it's like Groundhog Day every few minutes and the problem starts over again.
Curious: the connection is never lost while surfing the internet with safari or factime.
And - I don't ever have trouble with the iMac and non-apple laptop using the same Wi-Fi. This leads me to believe the WiFi-environment is stable. Since the iPad works fine while using Safari it seems like the iPad itself disconnects from my WiFi, and reconnects again when opening/using Safari. It feels like the iPad decides it is not neccessary to be connected to WiFi while using youtube-app and disconnects, but reconnects when using safari.I repeat myself.... I am frustrated!!!
Looks like a settings or software issue to me, but I out of solutions?
    I tried the obvious:
    - iPad software is up to date
    - tried turning everything off / on (router, iPad...), restarted.
    - went to the apple store, they gave me a new iPad, still the same trouble...
    Anyone able to help?
    thnx

I suspect that the problem is in your router. Do NOT consider your router to be blameless if some other devices seem to work with it.
Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. Don't just turn it Off. On many routers that doesn't really do anything but put the router into standby mode. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
There is a chance that some services turned on in your router could be causing problems. Look for a setting called QoS (Quality of Service). If ON turn it OFF.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

I can hear everything else, and when I put them on speaker it works all right. I checked on the forum here and someone else was advised to download and run a diagnostics app, and if that showed a fault, to run repair in Bridge for Mac. I did these and of course all my data was deleted from the phone. I now have two problems: 1. I still have no audio on incoming calls. Any suggestions for fixing this? 2. When I try and install the backup to my phone, it says the memory is too full. But the phone has been wiped clean - how can there not be enough memory? It's like it still thinks my phone is in its pre-"repair" state, with all my music on it and so on. Thank you, Segundus

Hi segundus! Sorry to hear you have a problem with bridge for mac. Can you please send me the error logs concerning the backup.  Here’s how to get error logs from Sony Bridge for Mac:
    1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
    2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
    3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the ”Xperia” menu. Select "Export logs"
    4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
    5. PM a shared dropbox link to me. Best regards Fredrik
