Connection to phone lost

Bought nokia N91 2 days ago and I tried to upgrade software but at end it said connection to phone lost and my phone crashed. After I changed battery it start working but I have same problem when I want to upgrade my phone. I tried 25 times but every time I got that error and I plug off USB cable.
Please help me

Same problem, different phone.
Nokia 6720 classic. I can't make a backup of my data. After a while it says "lost connection to phone". I tried rebooting the device, as well as PC, installing new drivers, installing updates, installing Windows updates.
Vista with all important updates.
I also tried to backup only contacts, which is the minimum requirement. As a result it loses connection instantly. Back up your phone - select "contacts" (uncheck all boxes) - continue and it immediately loses connection to the phone.
Something tells me Nokia needs fresh and highly skilled software engineers. Because this problem seems to exist within Ovi Suite - instant connection lost instead of "complete" message.

  • Connection to phone lost while updating to v21.0.0...

Hi guys, I have a small.. or somewhat major problem. Hopefully not the latter, but I'm being hopeful. Apologies if this has already been asked, I tried searching but couldn't find a direct answer.
So after NSU downloaded all the required updates/etc, something happened, and my phone got d/c and stopped the update. This is using a WinXP computer/via USB.
Nokia troubleshooter, suggest I remove the battery and switch the phone on and reattempt the update. However, when I turn the phone on, all it does is light up and remains blank. No Nokia logo, nothing.
    Help!

  • I am unable to get past the first step of Winston Churchill's answer because my phone says "checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the Internet". Did my WiFi connection also get lost?

I am unable to get past the first step of Winston Churchill's answer because my phone says "checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the Internet."  Did my iphone's WiFi connection also get lost with the Contacts, Mail and Text Messages?  When I tried the software update, as recommended by Winston Churchill, the iphone was connected to my desktop which is connected to the Internet.

You can't use your computers Internet connection to update your phone from the phone itself. If you want to use the computers Internet connection to update your phone you must update it through iTunes.

  • If my phone is lost with 'Find my iPhone' activated, will it notify me if they connect the phone to the internet (via usb cable to charge/try to use itunes/etc) in a place where 3G/signal is unavailable?

Dropped my phone and returned to the area 10 minutes later and it is gone.
Problem is that there is a lot of dead area around here. I was wondering if they connected the phone to a laptop or PC connected to the internet with the intent to charge it or get into itunes(in an area with dead signal), will find my iphone notify me?
Thank you in  advance...stressing very much about my phone. It is my work phone.

Only way to be able to locate your iphone is if it is turned on. Just a note.

  • Jabber for iPhone & iPad too long to connect to "Phone Services"

    Hello,
Has anybody ever experienced delay issues with Jabber for iPhone and/or iPad to connect to "Phone Services"?
In my case, the service does connect but it can take about 1 minute. Some times it can be faster but some others it can take a while to make the service available.
    Regards,

You've hit the nail on the head with your last sentence, though to me a month (and then another) to wait for a new line is nothing - I am on my fifth order with BT. They lost the first three, then tried charging me an arm and a leg in excess charges for the fourth. I am trying again, this time with a total package to see if they are a bit more useful when they actually know I'm not going to switch to another provider - fingers crossed.
If they do come back with massive excess charges again though this time I've done my homework. I now know the measurements between my property and the pole as well as the BT price list they use to calculate the charges. I've also worked out a cheaper route than the one they were suggesting - Ofcom say they should offer the cheapest route and the opportunity for the customer to do some of their own work but with me they didn't do either. They also didn't consider that we don't have reliable mobile signal here. They also didn't provide me with any details of how they'd come to that figure and just demanded it. I've had lots of advice from DEFRA, the Department for Business, Innopvation and Skills, Ofcom and ex-Openreach planners and should be able to get a line under the USO. I have a horrible feeling that I've done all this homework now though and they'll just come out and do it without demanding the excess, but if they do I am at least ready this time.

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
This link, Re: Help! I misplaced / lost my iPhone 5 today morning in delta Chelsea hotel downtown an I am not able to track it. Please help!, has some good advice regarding your options when your iDevice is lost or stolen.

I  have an I phone 4S and I usually back it up threw I Cloud but since my phone is pretty old and has been shutting off on me I decided to back it up in I tunes. I connected the phone and clicked Back Up Now. When it was done I picked up the phone and tried to open an app and discovered that all of my apps have been restored as if I had just down loaded them from the app store. So I lost all progress on them. Is there anything I can do to change it back? And I don't understand what I did wrong.

This means the iPhone has not been connected or synced with your computer since the passcode lock was enabled on the iPhone and too late now.

  • Bluetooth Crashes Phone (Lost Everything!)

I owned a Nokia 6300 last year, but after a few months it crashed whilst receiving some pics via bluetooth. When I tried to turn it on I got the blue flash at the side, the vibration, the Nokia hands, then the black and white flashing screen. I took this back to where it was brought, and they gave me a new one, but was still unhappy as I'd lost all my pics.
A year late and the same has happened again. I dont know what to do as there are pics of my son which If I lost would be heartbroken. Why the hell can't the phone cope with simple file transfers???
Please advise what's best to do if anyone else has had this problem.
    Thanks.

That would have been the safer option because you'd have been able to copy the photos directly to the memory card inserted in your phone.
When you copy files via bluetooth they first end up in the phone's central memory, which is usually rather limited (only 9MB in the case of the 6300), in the form of messages in your inbox. If you forget to delete these "messages" once you've saved the photos to the gallery on the memory card, the memory gets clogged up, and the only way to rectify this is to reset the phone, which has the effect of wiping it clean.
If, however, you connect the phone to your computer in "mass storage" mode, it appears on your system as an external hard drive. A pen drive in fact, and the memory allocated to the "pen drive" is the microSD card in your phone. So, if you copy something to the phone that way, it lands directly on the microSD card without clogging up your phone's memory. And if the microSD card gets clogged up, it won't stop the phone from operating normally, especially as you can always take the card out and put it in a card reader connected to your computer and clean it up that way.
S60 phones can circumvent this problem by storing the messaging folders on your memory card instead of the phone's central memory. The advantage of this is that you can store more messages and files transferred via bluetooth than in the central memory. The disadvantage is that the mass memory is slower than the central memory, so messaging is slowed down somewhat.

  • PROBLEM IN CONNECTION WHEN I CONNECT THE PHONE:

WHEN I CONNECT THE PHONE IN MASS STORAGE THEN DRIVE APPEAR ON MY PC WHEN I OPEN THE DRIVE BY DOUBLE CLICK THEN DIALOG BOX APPEAR THAT "KILLVBS" FILE IS NOT FOUND,WHEN I RIGHT CLICK THE MOUSE AND CLICK ON OPEN THEN IT OPEN,I DO'NT NO WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP ME IN THIS MATTER AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.I THINK THAT MY MEMORY CARD HAS LOST THE "KILLVBS" HIDDEN FILE.WHAT IS YOUR OPINION.
    REPLY..........
    MY MODEL IS NOKIA 6270

Killvbs is a virus script. It seems that your computer is infected with it, possibly also the memory card in the phone.
I suggest you do a complete system scan on your computer to remove the virus. Also remember to scan the phones memory card.

  • Nokia Suite 3.3.86 connection with E7 lost via USB...

    Hi,
    I am having a Windows 7 64Bit system.
I updated 2 days ago from previous Nokia Suite (don't know the exact previous version) to the latest version 3.3.86.
After rebooting my system, no connection could be made anylonger to my smartphone Nokia E7-00.
I did everything available in the help, rebooting Phone, rebooting PC again. The bluetooth has gone, Nokia Suite says "no phone found (tried with my old E65 also), and if the USB cable is connected, nothing happens.
Though Windows 7 sees the phone, in the bluetooth and also using the USB Cable. I do have 1 error in the device manager "bluetooth periheral device driver", and I can't install it separately, it is not found.
I do hope someone here can help mé out, Since I lost all connection, no sync with calendar is possible, no installation of apps, no installation of maps, no backup.....you get my drift?????
My smartphone is now a normal Cell phone, only avaible for calls!!!
    Thanks
    Gerrit

    Hi GerritBeylemans,
Could you please try out these steps:
Exit Nokia Suite (File -> Exit ) and Disconnect you device from your PC
Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers
See if your device is listed there. Right click you device and delete it.
    Now connect you device
A bubble notification, "Installing device drivers for your device will appear up", click that bubble
See if all the things go successfully
If it is all OK then start Nokia Suite (If not, then take a screenshot of that and upload it in reply to this post)
Start Nokia Suite and see if your device is shown as connected
Now try out updating your phone software
I hope it will help you to connect your phone via USB.
If you still encounter the error, we would need logs as a next step to investigate it further.
For your bluetooth device, I would recommend you to check which bluetooth hardware is in your PC (Check the user manual of your PC). Then download the exact same drivers for your device.
When your bluetooth device is working properly, then you will be able to connect your phone to Nokia Suite using bluetooth.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Nokia Suite Team.

  • I have had my IPAD2 for quite a while but haven't activated my cellular data for about a year.  I am now trying to activate and when I go to cellular data, turn it on and try to tap view account i just get a message that says "connection to server lost".

I have had my IPAD2 for quite a while but haven't activated my cellular data for about a year.  I am now trying to activate and when I go to cellular data, turn it on and try to tap view account i just get a message that says "connection to server lost".  I could swear the last time I used cellular data you would see the signal in the upper left corner and I only see "no service" there, I am in a location where I know I should have service.  Is there something I should do to my IPAD?  I tried resetting, I tried clearing cookies and history in Safari (after reading a post n these discussions).  I don't know what to do next. My IOS version is 6.1.3.  I did go into Network from the general tab and I see it says "SIM not provisioned".    HELP and Thank you in advance.

    Hello Theresa818,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like the cellular data will not activate for some reason on the iPad.
I found this article that will help you resolve this issue here, named iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular Models): Troubleshooting a cellular data connection, found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4249
Check for a carrier settings update.
    Update your iPad.
Toggle the Cellular Data setting off and on under Settings > Cellular Data.
    Restart your iPad.
Tap Settings > General > About. Locate the Carrier entry and make sure that your carrier is correct.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Cellular Data > SIM PIN.
Make sure you're in an area of good coverage. If the cellular data connection works in another area, contact your carrier to report the original affected area.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPad as new.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, contact your carrier, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
I know you may have done one or two of the steps here, so you can skip those.
    Take care,
    Sterling
