Hi Gurus,
    I am trying to install ECC 5 IDES on Win with Oracle as Database.
    I am done with the steps of installing oracle database and Java1.4.2 and when i am trying to run
     Installation master i am getting the following error message ..............
Connection to SAPinst broken.
    Reason:Network I/O exception:No buffer space available
    (maximum connections reached):recv failed java.net.SocketException:No buffer space available
    (maximum connections reached)
Please correct the error condition and restart the installation
Plesae guide me how to resolve this and go ahead with the installation.

I have a NW4 preview installation running on Linux. I get the following message while trying to connect from a W2000 client. I also cannot connect locally on the linux machine using the Java GUI. I get a similar message.

Hi Jerry,
The error 10054 as you indicated in your message, is normally due to an error of the TCP/IP connection between 2 nodes, which has been lost.
There can be a variety of reasons for this from an incorrect termination of the connection on one side to physical network problems etc.
Please check out following SAP OSS Notes for further information in service marketplace:

500235 Network Diagnosis with NIPING
This could be due to hardware problems with the network, or to network problems. Please use the 'NIPING' tool to trace and check the network connection as per note 500235.
You could ask your Network Administrator to ensure your network status is healthy.

1. Using MTOM Web Services. Here we provided our own Web Services implementation layer based on JAX-WS 2.1.3 reference implementation. For larger files we got the connection broken exception, with the following NW related stack trace:

Server Connection is Lost or Server is in DownTime Status.

Connection to server broken: non-chunked HTTP read lost connection

A java applet popped this up on my screen, no idea where to look on my machine - it's only the second time its happened in many weeks but I would like to be able to interact with the cause.
Java was installed from Sun's download in June 2006 on Windows Adv. Server. MS auto update and defender currently active.

some program is trying to get some update from its server and so it is trying to connect to its server but either you don't have internet connection or it can have low speed, because of this reason some program show this error "Connection to server broken: non-chunked HTTP read lost connection". so you have to stop the scheduling of that program.

When I run sapinst , connection with it get broken in between.

What is the solution for this?

-> plz check your root values using SMITTY -> Security & Users -> Users -> Change/Show Characteristics of a User -> insert 'root' -> check parameter 'Soft STACK size' -> value should be '-1' (minus one)

we fixed the problem. Really simple when you know ...;()
We deleted the existing RFC-Connection and created a new one with the same parameters.
After that the connection works fine. The RFC had the problem, probably a corrupted entry in the table.

All seems to work fine, the only problem (big problem) is that the connection is broken very frequently: I think that the average period lasts 10 minutes. This is the error:

ITunes Connect is a broken system in desperate need of repair

Apple followers,
With the remarkable reselase of the iBooks Author program I was elated to find how easy creating my own interactive books could be. I spent weeks perfecting and publishing a book that I was hoping to sell on the iBookstore, but then I hit the iTunes Connect road block. As of now the 10 day waiting period has lapsed and I have not received anything more than a canned reponse from Apple Support regarding the status of my book. I am troubled by the lack of support, appalled by the wait, and I am disgusted with the simple fact that I put so much of my time into a book that is now wasting away in no mans land.
I am truely saddened by this broken process, why should we have to wait so long when we are told that a book will be published and it could potentially take two weeks. It has been more than that and I cannot get even a hello or here is a status update from Apple's support staff. I am VERY long time Apple user and cannot believe that the content distribution process could be so broken. Apple will make 30% off of the revenues from my book, so why are they stalling and why on earth are they not responding?
Fine, they may be swamped right now, but I do not think that because they are busy that means that they should let their usually impecible service slip so badly. Apple, if you can hear me, fix the process. Set up a support staff that will actually respond. Cultivate the content creators that are helping fill the shelfs of your virtual bookstore.
Has anyone else had these issues? How long has it taken others to get their books through the process? Are you being ignored by Apple support as well?

You are not alone. Wait times for everyone seem to be very long.
I'm currently at almost 30 days. On top of it, we were trying to launch our book via iTunes, but also in print and via other ebook retailers (like Amazon). We have no clue what to do. Our planned street date has come and gone, but in order to be fair, we have to hold off on the print and other ebook editions with no idea of how much longer it will be. This is a waste of marketing efforts and results in additional costs. Not to mention the frustration of those who want to buy the book, but all we can tell them is, "We don't know."
I'm not sure how, knowing these long wait times and lack of support response, one can reasonable be expected to set a street date and market abook ahead of time. To top it off, iTunes never listed our book as a pre-order, but again, we've gotten no response as to why from Apple. I'd be very surprised, too, if major publishers like Bantam or Penguin have to endure these kinds of issues -- granted, they are major publishers, but if Apple wants to truly be a force in the ebook market, I believe everyone on all levels should be treated as fairly as possible.
iBooks Author itself is a great format with so much capability. Seeing that Apple currently has more cash on hand than any company, it is surprising they can't put more resources into improving the content delivery process. I mean, they have hundreds of millions, don't they? I assume they can afford to hire a few more employees...

I owned my iMac since late 2007 and my HD either crashed or the connection to the HD is broken. I took it to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and was told that if I wanted to get a new hard drive (HD), I would have to give up my old HD, which means I would have to forfeit any possibility of trying to retrieve as much from my old HD as possible. He quoted us the new HD at $250 tax included. My feeling is if I pay for my computer, everything on that computer, including the old HD, is mine and that I should not give it up unless I want to. He claimed it's Apple's policy to retrieve old HDs. He also goes on to say that I owned my iMac for seven years and that most iMacs last for 3-5 years. He was clearly pushing us to purchase a new computer and trying to discourage us from getting a new HD. What's the purpose of having a Genius Bar if they only push you to get a new computer instead of fixing your current one? I was also hesitant to give up my old HD due to privacy issues.

USB Connection failed or broken - power problem?!?

I had problems with Windows and my iPhone. First it sometimes did not find the iPhone. I checked all the drivers as described on the Apple page, but everything was OK. I deinstalled iTunes and reinstalled it: still no connect. I booted several times, too. That time the batetry was only half full.
Next day, the battery was full. I plugged it in, and it was immediately recognized. But: this time during sync the connection got lost. Although retrying often, it just did not work for syncing files.
So: I disables WLAN and set the screen brightness to the lowest value, and now everything works.
Did anyone else experience a correlation ebtween battery level / power consumption and the quality of the USB connection?!? Or am I turning nuts?

Thanks for the tip. I did a few more tests, and it seems to be true.
Here is what I tried: connect with 80% battery, works for the USB port on the back of the case and for 1 of the front ports.
Connects with 20% battery only work for the back USB port.
So there seems to be a combination of problems with my PC. It is correlated with battery level of the iPhone, but there also seems to be some kind of software / driver problem with the front port.
Anyways, thanks for the tip -> solved from my point of view.

Connecting to a broken macbook

i bought a new macbook because the screen on my old one cracked and broke. i have, at the direction of an apple store employee, tried to connect the new computer to the old one via an ethernet cable, but it will not allow me to connect to it. it says i have to turn on bluetooth on my old computer, which i obviously can't do because the screen is destroyed. the hardrive on it is fine and i NEED the information on it to transfer to my new computer. someone please help.

Toward the bottom of the link I gave you for the enclosure is a download for the instructions to install the drive in the new enclosure...again not difficult...read over all the info.....the components you receive with the enclosure contain the required USB cable to connect the enclosure to your new MacBook....
