  • I need help on wiring.

I've a 46'inch LG Flat Screen mounted onto the wall. And LG SoundBar mounted to the wall too. And at the sides of the wall, or maybe side table, there's the wireless subwoofer and xbox 360.
My question is, my TV has HDMI cable connected to SoundBar. And i've recently purchase AppleTV. But, i dont have anymore HDMI slots left. Except for my xbox360. Cause i want my son to play on my iPad 2 and watching his 'The Wiggles' videos on TV rather than on iPad.
Any ideas or ideas? Gladly appreciated it so much.

    Rudegar:
I bought myself a HDMI switcher. It's work pretty well at the moment.
At first with my Xbox, it's works.
And my soundbar. And lastly Apple tv.
The next day, I try it again, and suddenly it's stated no signal. What's does it mean? I switch and switch the buttons frequently until I'm becoming crazy at the moment.
As I goggle other discussion, mostly stated that switch off the whole inputs and switch on again. But doesn't works.
What's does it mean? Any guidelines to use switcher?

  • Quantum boxes - no internet radio

We recently lost the capability of listening to internet radio through the TV.
I chatted with tech support who said the software on the quantum boxes doesn't support the widget, for internet radio.  I feel like I am going backward with this technology.
when can we expect a fix for this problem?
since the TV is connected to our stereo system this is critical in our household.

We bypassed this issue by connecting a soundbar to the TV that has bluetooth.  I stream Pandora from my iPhone, BUT, it would be so much easier if the widget actually worked!!

  • 40xv648u -Turning off internal speakers?

Is there any way to disable the internal speakers on my LCD TV (40xv648u)?  I've connected a soundbar system throught the optical audio output and would really like to disable the TV's internal speakers.  I've searched through the on-screen menu and the owner's manual and can't find a solution.  There's got to be a way, right?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no way to turn off the internal speakers on the Toshiba HDTV.  Just set the volume to 0.

  • Soundbar connection to tv

just purchased surround bar 3000 for my lg led... it came with an optical cable... no sound is coming out...states the soundbar is looking for audio to be in 2 channel format .. what is that ... iI dont see as an option. please help!!!

Unless you are watching OTA channels the way you have it connected explains why you dont have sound. on most TV's the optical port is used for the built in tuner or for sound pass through from any built in internet apps like pandora if you have a internet capable TV and will not pass audio from other devices. Meaning if you have the sound bar plugged into the TV but trying to watch cable/sat chances are you will not be hearing anything. But if you plug the soundbar into the optical jack of your able/sat box you should start to hear your sound.

  • Jabber not support p2p audio on WebEx Connect.

    Hi, everyone.
We have received complaints from customers in the WebEx Connect Client peer-to-peer audio functionality. We know Cisco's announcement, after April 3, 2015, a customer has to use Jabber on WebEx Connect. But Jabber doesn't have the peer to peer audio function.
Customers to be continued use the WebEx Connect Client. Until Jabber with peer-to-peer audio functionality. I think customer claims is hot, and correct.
Q1. Does Jabber plan to support the peer to peer audio function?
Q2. We want to use continuous WebEx Connect Client, until p2p audio support on Jabber.
We escalated to the Webex Customer success Manager, but difficult to change the situation. If this goes on, customers consider stopping the WebEx contract renewal. and considering Skype or LINE for free talk function :(
    regards,
Kazuki Nakagawa @ Hitachi (HIENG) Japan.

Haven't been able to try a different speaker yet, but I can add that
    - I successfully used bluetooth with a car phone about a year ago
    - I have tried an iphone 5 with my soundbar, with same choppy/intermittent sound.
    - However, it works perfectly when I stream from my computer using bluetooth.
Also, I have been in touch with Philips customer care, but I'm inclined to thinking the phone is the source of the problem... (Or, most likely, I am to blame..)

  • My iMac drops the internet connection but mantains the wi-fi network.

I have a late 2011, 2.7GHz Intel Core i5, 27" iMac with 4GB Ram. When I power up the computer everything goes great, but after 3 or 4 hours (top) the internet connection stops working; and by this I DO NOT MEAN that the network utility turns off, or that it doesn't detect any netwoks. On the contrary,  the computer stays connected to the wi-fi network and detects everything, but it simply has no internet connection; it even stops communicating with my iphone through itunes (with the wi-fi sync option), and crashes LAN games when i try to play at home. When this occured for the first times I just turned off and back on the network utility, but the problem continued and I had to keep turning off and on the network (it wouldn't stay connected for more than 5 minutes). I  checked with my laptop (the last alluminum macbook ever available, as well as with my mom's black macbook) when the internet stopped working in the iMac (just to check that there were no issues regarding my ISP) and the internet connection just worked great in it, and it didn't drop at all! It also worked perfectly with my dad's windows XP dinosaur laptop.
At the beggining I thought my wi-fi router had gone bad, so I changed it for a brand new wireless-n ready router (it turned out that i wasted 180 dollars, because this wasn't the issue, and I had already trashed my old router). At first, I used the wireless-n feature, but other gadgets stopped working with this type (a play station 3 and a nintendo wii). I then configured it with a mixed mode, and everything has worked perfectly (including both macbooks, an ipad 2, an iphone 4s, 4 blackberries, a play station 3, a nintendo wii, 2 network printers, 1 network scanner, a 3TB network hard disk and 3 led tvs that come network ready, along with their respectives network ready surround soundbars).... EXCEPT FOR MY IMAC! So DEFINETELY MY ROUTER IS NOT THE PROBLEM.
I've been an avid apple user for almost 10 years now, and this is the first time I encounter this type of problem (it's my first iMac), so I'm pretty much out of logical options. I've already moved my router closer to the computer, I moved my wi-fi connection to the top of the list in the network utility.
I even had to re-write this whole message again because i clicked on "Post message" and it had no internet connection, so it displayed a no-internet alert in my browser.............
    PLEASE! HELP!!!!
PS: all my apple gadgets are always up to date.

    I FINALLY SOLVED THIS ISSUE!!!!
New routers have "mixed" modes for your network; this means that it will automatically choose the best option between wireless-B, wireless-G and wireless-N network modes. I used to experience this issue using the 2.4 GHz. mixed mode wireless network.
Thankfully, my router can create 2 networks: a 2.4 GHz. network and a 5 GHz. network.
When I randomly changed this value to "use only wireless-B and wireless-G" trying to fix an issue with a wi-fi expander, the iMac wi-fi  issue dissapeared! I tried it with wireless-N only, but it didn't work.
So, finally, I have a 2.4 GHz network with only wireless-B and wireless-G modes which works PERFECT with the iMac, and a 5 GHz. network with a mixed* wireless mode for everything else mode.
*PD: by "mixed" mode it means that the router will automatically choose between B, G and N network modes as it fits better.

  • Apple TV won't connect properly to Sony home theatre system using hdmi cable.

Using an HDMI cable to the port on the home theatre system I can get sound, but the picture is intermittent. It Comes on for 1second, goes of for 10 seconds.
If I connect directly to the TV using the HDMI to DVI-D cable it works, but because I am using a Fujitsu plasmavision it is a monitor only with no speakers.
Would really like to get this to work and don't understand why the video signal is intermittent from the blueray player. Other inputs into the player through the HDMI port work OK (such as a set top box).

Just installed my Vizio SoundBar with my new LG TV & Apple TV 2... The trick to get the Apple TV 2 to send audio to the Soundbar is on the Apple TV Menu under audio change it to 16 bit. Boom it works.

  • New iMac mini DisplayPort to Panasonic Viera HDMI overrides Viera Link Soundbar

I've just bought a new iMac 27 inch. I've connected it to my Panasonic Viera TV via a Belkin Mini DisplayPort and Belkin HDMI 5m cable into the tv's HDMI port. The Viera Link Soundbar is connected via the ARC HDMI2 port. When the imac HDMI is connected to the TV it seems to override the ARC Viera Link and cuts out the normal TV out put even when the settings to the TV are switched of on the imac.  It's really difficult to explain.

Yes but is there way to leave it plugged in but disable it somehow? I don't want to have to plug and unplug the HDMI cable. Would Apple TV fix this issue?

  • Connecting Optical cable to new Toshiba 46TL868

I have a new Toshiba and I am having trouble connecting the Optical sound cable from my Orbitsound T9 soundbar to the TV.  The connection on the back of the TV had a plastic cover which when removed showed a hole for the cable to fit in but the connection seemed to be slightly different to the cable I have with the soundbar.  There is a small metal spade sticking out of the centre of the socket.  Does this have to be removed or does it in some way hold the cable in.  The cable I am using is a standard optical sound cable but cannot seem to make it fit into the Toshiba.  Has anyone else had this problem?

  • Connecting a TV to a surround sound system for audio

I just bought a basic sound bar, and hooked it up with the optical cable.  I have it working, but the volume is not controlled by the TV, but by the special remote that came with the sound bar.  Is there a way to have the TV volume control change the volume?

No, I don't believe it's possible with a soundbar connected via optical cable.

  • Audio coming from both TV Speakers and external soundbar - how do I suppress the TV audio output?

Just after my warranty expired, my Toshiba 55TL515U started to play sounds through both the TV's speakers as well as outputting audio to my external Polk Audio soundbar, which is connected to the TV via the Digital Audio Output line. The TV never did this after I connected the external soundbar until a few days ago.
I don't want any sound to come out of the TV speakers, I only want sound to come out of the soundbar. There's a horrible echo effect that occurs when both sound systems are active.
I don't see a setting on any of the TV menus to control this. I would assume that if the TV senses an external audio device, it would no longer output any sound to the TV's speakers.
Is there a setting on the TV I'm missing, or is this something broken within my TV?
I called Polk Audio tech support, and they claim it's not a problem with the soundbar, but with the TV.
If anyone can comment on this, I'd be very thankful.

I have the same problem. When I mute the TV, I get sound only from Soundbar which is fine. But, everytime I turn on my tv, I had to mute my tv. And if I accidently press the volume button on TV, then both TV and Soundbar plays sound and that sucks.

  • I cannot get my iPhone to connect with bluetooth to my Sony sound bar.  I have tried everything.  It searches and says underneath in the gray "Now Discoverable".   Suggestions?  It is the Sony 4-452-002-14 sound bar.

We just installed our soundbar and cannot connect our iphones with bluetooth.  My friend has the same iphone (5S) and works fine.
He does have a different carrier (ATT) I have Verizon.  I would not think that would matter.  His iphone connection was immediate.  We did repower the speaker and that did not work.  My phone is searching for a signal and below that in the gray it says (now discoverable)  THe powerbar is the Sony 4-452-002-14.  Suggestions?

    Hello, OhBuckeye.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Sometimes the issue may simply be resolved by placing the accessory in pairing mode.  However, when experiencing issues with Bluetooth connections, here are a couple articles I would recommend going through.

  • Connecting to a Dell Display (NOTE: POINTS WILL BE GIVEN!)

    Hi all-
I have a couple of questions about connecting my Macbook Aluminum to a Dell monitor. I was considering [this one|http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=u s&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8103]. So, I had several questions. Answers to any or all of them will be much appreciated and of course awarded with the appropriate helpful and answered stars.
*Question #1:* +Will this monitor be compatible with my Macbook if I get the appropriate Mini DisplayPort to VGA/DVI cable?+
*Question #2:* I see that this monitor comes with both a VGA and a DVI cable and ports to attach them. The VGA cable comes pre-attached to the monitor, so if there isn't a difference I would like to use that one. +Is there any difference between using a VGA cable or a DVI cable to attach to a monitor? Will they give you different capabilities?+
*Question #3:* +Will using a Mini DisplayPort to VGA/DVI adapter also transfer the sound to the monitor?+ I am considering getting a "soundbar" to accompany it to play the audio off of my Mac, but I was wondering +how the audio is going to get from my Macbook to the monitor in the first place?+
*Question #4:* The monitor also has 4 USB 2.0 connectors, and comes with a USB "upstream" connector, as well as a USB "upstream" port on the monitor. +Will this allow me to connect my Mac to the monitor in such a way that the USB ports will be usable?+
Any and all comments will be much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Sasha

"Will this monitor be compatible with my Macbook if I get the appropriate Mini DisplayPort to VGA/DVI cable?"
Yes, but why would you do that? Why not use a mini DP-to-DP cable?
"I see that this monitor comes with both a VGA and a DVI cable and ports to attach them. What is a "soundbar"?
