Connection to specific Website

Hi,
I'm having the same issue as
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10472931&#10472931
but my DNS settings are already set to the ones that you suggested, (I have been using open DNS for some time).
In addition, I was able to get onto the hung-up web sites using anonymouse.org/
Any help would be great, the web sites that I can't access are my blog, and my blog administration........big problem!
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Two things....
1. You can go to the site below to access the websites that are blocked on your computer.
http://anonymouse.org/
Click on the English flag, and then type in the website you are trying to reach, and it will take you there. (Unfortunately it seems that this is now one of the websites that my Airport is blocking).
2. Call your Apple store, point them to all of these posts, and insist that they replace your Airport. There is obviously some kind of glitch, and it needs to be resolved. If they won't agree to replace it, keep asking for the person above them.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have wasted too much time on this with Apple, My internet supplier, and my website host. Apple will try to resolve the problem if everyone starts asking for replacements.

  • Can't connect to specific website

    Hi
    In the past 2 days I've been unable to load the ea computer game forums. I got my broadband about a month ago and this site previously loaded fine since then until about Wednesday.
    I've tried on various devices through my wifi, and I've also used 3G on my phone to see if the website is still up (which it is).
    On my PC I'm able to load a google cache version of it, but through the wireless on my phone it just says website unavailable.
    Having searched around, I've reset my hub to factory settings but it's had no effect.
    Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance

    Well, it's odd. On my PC, I cannot connect to this, either with Chrome or IE. It's not a Homehub problem though as that went in the bin ages ago and I have a decent TP Link router.
    My Windows phone, however, connected to the same wifi network, CAN display the site.
    I then tethered my PC to the phone's shared internet, and the site loads fine on the PC. However its tracert suggests it's connecting via O2 and not BT, so the phone must be clever enough to fall back to trying 3G when the wifi fails to get an answer.
    I suspect it means that the problem is specifically with BT's routing to EA. Perhaps they haven't paid their bill to one of the service providers
    I think I have seen similar problems on this forum in the past of BT seeming to lose parts of the internet that still work via other routes.

  • Proxy server is refusing connections to specific websites suggesting I contact my network administrator about proxy settings.

    I don't have a network administrator. The computer I am using used to be networked where I worked, but I am no longer working there and they gave me the computer.

    hi Kmiranda2, please to set-up firefox to directly connect to the internet ('no proxy') in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > network > connection - settings...''

  • MIFI 4620L will not connect to specific website

    I updated my old 3G MIFI to a new 4620L MIFI and I am using 4G.  There is one website I use a lot, www.Identifix.com and for some reason the 4620L will not connect to it.  I've tried the 4620L on 4 different PCs and several different browsers but all with the same results, cannot connect.  I never had any problems with my old MIFI.  I also have a UML290 modem and it works fine getting to the Identifix website.
    I've forced the 4620L to 3G but get the same results, cannot connect.  So far I don't see any problems with any other websites, just the Identifix website.
    What gives, could something be wrong with the 4620L that would impact just one website?

    Quite a discovery has been made here.  This is the first time I have seen this kind of limitation with a MiFi device.  I too can confirm that neither of the websites you mentioned are accessible while connected to the MiFi 4620L.  I can also confirm that both sites are pingable from a cmd window.  Its peculiar how they are both on a 208 segment but that should not matter, more of a coincidence.  My tests are done from a Win7 computer with IE 9 and FireFox.
    Heres what we should do, and I can do the same when I find some free time now that I have a 4620.  We need to contact VZW again and reinvestigate the issue.  Ask VZW to grab a 4620 from thier stock and reproduce the problem for you. They should be able to with no issues according to what we have discovered here.  Let them run through any troubleshooting steps that they want, just know in advance that it will be ineffective.  VZW needs experience troubleshooting this issue so that it can get better documented.  Eventually it will need to get escalated to the engineers who will take some time to look into the real problem.  Ask for an incident/tracking number and follow up with them in a few days for updates(VZW has a poor return phone call success ratio like any other phone tech support).
    Lets tag team VZW on this one and report back with our findings.  Perhaps there are other sites out there that are blocked too and our information may help resolve those problems.

  • Safari can't connect to server on specific website

    Safari accesses all other websites that I've been working on but for some reason it will not "connect to server" on EscambiaClerk.com.  I've double checked on going to other County Clerk websites and there is no problem, but it is this specific website that will not connect.  Is there anything that I can do to fix this? Maybe a setting that I need to adjust? My macbook pro runs off of OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 if that helps.

    Two things to try:
    1. Go to Safari (in the menu bar) / Clear History and WebSite Data ..
    2. Type command, option , E (three keys together). This will clear caches, you won't see anything happen.

  • Can't connect to a specific website

    I have exhausted all other issues, but cannot connect to a specific website on my Verizon FIOS network. I am able to connect to it when I'm at work, and others are having no problems. I just can't connect through my home account. Please advise.

    I check the settings on your router to be sure you are not blocking any sites or specific catergory of sites using parental controls.
    It is possible that the public IP given to you by Verizon is being blocked by the WEB site because of something a previous holder of this IP did or didn't do.   Unplug the power to your Verizon for at least 30 minutes.  After plug it back in you should have a new Public IP.   Confirm this by checking the status page on your router both before you unplug the router and then after you power it back up.

  • IMac isn't loading a specific website (can't connect to that server), regardless of browser, though the same website will load on other computers on same network. Is it an issue with the iMac's settings?

    Our iMac isn't loading a specific website (we get a message saying it can't connect to that specific server), regardless of browser (I've tried it in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox). However, the same website, which is for a major medical provider, loads without any issue on our other computers on the same wireless network. Is it an issue with the iMac's settings? All other websites seem to be loading without issue on the iMac.

    ... Is it an issue with the iMac's settings?
    Possibly. Make sure you are not using a proxy server. Look in Safari Preferences > Advanced > Proxies > "Change Settings..." This will take you to the applicable Network Preferences. Make sure that nothing is selected in the "select a protocol to configure" list. It should look like this:
    Still not working?
    Locate your Terminal app. It is in your Utilities folder. Open Terminal.
    In Terminal, copy (triple-click) and paste the following line:
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item'
    This will produce a list of all your account login items.
    While you are in Terminal, copy (triple-click) and paste the following line:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
    This will produce a list of all non-Apple kernel extensions. There will be few, if any.
    Post the results of the above.

  • How do I set up Safari on my iPad Mini to connect to a specific website on Safari start up ?

    On a pc or mac you can set up the browser so it connects to a website such as your Internet provider's website when you open up the browser. How do you set up Safari on the iPad Mini to do that ?

    ......forget that, I have just seen Add to Home Screen is an option in the Bookmarks list.
    Now all I want is to move it from Home Screen 2 to Home Screen 1....

  • How to enable SSL optimization only for a single remote WAE and specific website?

    Hi guys.
    I have to enable SSL optimization for a specifc HTTPS website only and for a specific remote site only (branch office).
    The scenario is as follows:
    Multiple sites connected via a MPLS cloud. Each site has its own WAE device (module or appliance).
    There is a central manager and core WAE in the main site (central site).
    There is a website accessed via HTTPS by all the remote sites. This specific website is hosted within the main site.
    For only a specific branch office (remote site) we want to enable SSL optimization for this specific website.
    I saw this great and useful doc, but I still have some concerns.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16452
    Basically, according to I see, I should do the following if I want to enable SSL optimization with the entire environment:
    - export the certificate and keys;
    - enable secure store in the central manager;
    - In the remote and core WAE, Check "initialize CMS secure store" and "Open CMS Secure Store";
    - In the core WAE, import the CA certificate (upload PEM file);
    - In the core WAE, create the SSL Accelerated Service by:
        --importing the client certificate and the key;
        -- Match interesting traffic;
        -- Put the SSL Acc Service in service;
    - Finally, make sure SSL acceleration is enabled in both remote and core WAE.
    The concerns:
    I only need to enable SSL optimization for a specific location accessing a specific website.
    Should the steps above work fine If I enable the SSL service for this specific website in the core WAE and enabling secure store only in a single remote site (brach office)?
    how will the other remote locations behave?
    Will they access the website normally with no SSL optimization even passing thru the core WAE?
    What about the other SSL sites which have no certificate? They will be treated as normal HTTPS with no optimization, right?
    If the site uses proxy, will any flow be impacted?
    If the steps above do not fit my case, how can I configure SSL optimization for only one remote WAE?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can't open a specific website with BT infinity

    Hello
    I got a massive problem with BT infinity (fibre to home service, BT HomeHub 5).
    To make a long story short:
    Internet normally works quick and fine (I get 70 Mbps download speed and 20 upload on average) BUT a specific website I use for job purposes doesn't work.
    This problem first arose when I upgraded from BT Broadband to Infinity last year; prior to that that website worked just fine.
    So you may be asking yourselves why I had waited one year to speak up: simple, because in the meantime I had managed to bypass the problem. To be more precise the website I am talking about has a numeric extension which I just deleted and things worked fine (EXAMPLE: www.iamnanogianni.com:123 , I just would type www.iamnanogianni.com and it worked) unfortunately this is not possible anymore and that extension has now to be typed in order to open the website.
    This won't just work for me.The page I try to load looks scrambled and after I type my username and password it just freezes.
    -I've checked the firewall (and also temporarily disabled it to see if that was the problem),
    -I have reset both the HomeHub 5 and the OpenReach modem,
    -I have utilised a old HomeHub3 modem (exactly same result),
    -I have called BT 100 times and they say that that particular website is not blocked. Sometimes they say it is a coincidence this is not working (!!!), some other times they just remain speachless, sometimes they genuinely try to help but to no avail sadly,
    -As soon as I disconnect from my router and connect to, say, BTfon WIFI then the website magically works  on my laptos. I am talking about a Mac and a Dell,
    -Last but not least an OpenReach engineer came to my place and left empty handed (ie he was not able to determine the problem).
    What would you do if you were me?
    Many thanks in advance for your help

    If you are using a web browser, then without the extension it will default to port 80. As you are using a non-standard port, which is actually reserved for the NTP service, you will need to use the port 123 extension.
    I cannot see how it could possible work without the extension, without some form of redirection.
    You need to move the webserver to port 80, and not port 123.

    Hello James,
    Your Entity Framework Model "MyWhesEntities" connection string is still pointing to a local server, not to SQL Azure; or do you change it during runtime in your code?
    And you should add the "data source=" property name to your second connection string, it's missing.

  • Safari (- or other browsers) won't load specific websites

    Hello folks,
    So here’s the deal: I can’t seem to load several specific websites. Some pages point-blank refuse to load, while others (like Facebook, Instagram, Google) work just fine or take a very long time to load (youtube vids buffer a lot). I’ve already tried several things, like flushing my DNS cache, adding google public DNS-servers (used: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), using different browsers (firefox nor safari works), making sure parental control is off and firewall is disabled, removing all my website data in Safari’s preferences, rebooting my router, resetting the wifi routers' time zone (someone else recommended this), restarting my wifi connection (which seems to have effect for like a second- though it’s loading very slowly- and then it goes back to refusing loading the page.) When using a proxy all pages load just fine.
    I also did run a ping-test for one of them:
    PING archiveofourown.org (208.85.241.152): 56 data bytes
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 2
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 3
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 4
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 5
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 6
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 7
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 8
    --- archiveofourown.org ping statistics ---
    10 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss
    Entering 208.85.241.152 in my browser didn’t do the trick either..
    Printscreen (just a blank page):
    I’m really lost and hope someone might help me. Thank you in advance!

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Macbook cannot view specific websites

    I am running OS X 10.4.11 on an Intel-based Macbook. I cannot view some specific websites, like www.facebook.com, www.commonapp.org, and apple's own discussion forums, regardless of the browser. I have used Firefox, Safari, and Opera. All have the same problem. The frontpage to the sites will load if I set them as my homepage.
    Is there any possible reason this could be happening? I have looked online and others have experienced this problem but no one seems to have a solution. I am in the midst of the college application process, and the deadline is January 1. All of the applications are online and I can't access the website. Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    You might need to provide us with a little more information about your Internet connection. Are you using dial-up via the USB modem? Are you connected via Ethernet to a cable or DSL modem? Are you connecting wirelessly through an Apple AirPort device? Or a third party wireless router? What happens if you skip the wireless router and connect your MacBook directly to the DSL or cable modem with Ethernet? Have you tried moving your MacBook to a new location that has Wi-Fi? Have you contacted your Internet Service Provider? Clearly, Apple is not blocking access to their own Discussion forums to people using Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger).
    -Doug
    P.S. I'm going to ask the Hosts/Moderators to move this topic to the "original" MacBook forum. Since no one in this Aluminum MacBook forum is using Mac OS X 10.4.

  • Can't access specific website

    I've been trying to access a specific website – http://www.statcounter.com/ – for the last few days, but all I get is a blank, white page. I know the site is working and it's just a problem with my Mac. I've been searching the net for a solution and for PCs it seems to involve doing something to the TCP/IP, but I can't figure out what needs to be done in Macs. Any suggestions? Thanks
    I should add that my internet connection is via airport.

    I notice that your OS is 10.3.2. I'm not sure what further free updates are available from Apple but I would apply these as they might fix your problem. Better still would be to upgrade to at least Tiger if you can afford it. I had no problem from my MBP getting to the website.
    It's possible that your eMac is having trouble with the drawing of the web page from this site which might use a more complex web page structure. I think this can be an issue on older machines occasionally.

  • Firefox won't open a specific website and neither with IE, but it opens fine on other computers

    I have been trying to open a specific website: arabicpod101.com since yesterday, and I keep being given the Problem loading page error and am told that the connection was reset. I can't seem to open it on Internet Explorer either, but had no troubles accessing the website from a friend's computer.

    Reload a web page and bypass the cache with:
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
