Connection with BEFW11S4 Router

About 2 months ago I got a new computer. Ever since, while I am able to connect to the internet,  the connection is very slow.  We have a second computer in our home that has no problems with the connection.  But yet the new computer has trouble downloading videos, websites, etc at the same speed as the other computer.
I spoke with the company that build my computer and they stated this was a problem with the router and I should countact them for assistance.  I have the Lyksys BEFW11S4 Wireless-B Broadband Router.  Can anyone offer me any assistance as to how to get the new computer running off the internet at the same speed as our older one?
Thank you in advance for you help!

On your New Computer try to Disable the Firewall and Antivirus on your Computer and check how its working. As you have mentioned your other computers works perfectly fine, this means your Router is working fine  without any issue. You should disable the firewall and antivirus and i think this might solve the problem.

  • Not able to connect with my router, but other networks work ok.

I have a 2d generation iPod Touch. I can't connect to my home network that operates on a DLink DIR-628 router. However I can connect to other access points with no trouble at all. When my iPod tries to connect with my router, it asks for my password and I enter the password I think is correct, but it won't accept it. When I check the router web page there is no password visible. Does the problem lie with the Router or with the iPod Touch? I have three other computers and two wireless printers that are operating through the router with no problem at all.

    Have you tried:
    - Resetting your iPod:
    - Resetting network settings on the iPod: Setting>General>reset>Reet Network Settins
    - Powering off and then back on your router

how can i fix my wifi connection with my router?

I think I'm having a similar problem, my wifi disconnects when a bluetooth device is connected to the MBA.
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) with WiFi and Apple Trackpad.  I'm unable to use the trackpad(bluetooth) and wifi at the same time.  If I turn off the trackpad then the wifi works fine and if I shutoff the wifi then the trackpad works fine.  This configuration was working fine prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
I experienced the same problem at home and at the office.
    Additional test:
I turned off the bluetooth trackpad and connected my bluetooth headphones to the MBA.  The wifi disconnected as soon as I paired the headphones with the MBA.
I have had no problems with the MBA's keyboard or integrated trackpad.

  • Loss of connection with Belkin router

I have been using a Belkin N450DB router with my Westell modem for over 2 months. Everything was fine until 4 days ago when my router lost connection. I have tried the self heal with the router and the troubleshooting with the modem. I currently have internet with just the modem hooked up but have lost connection 3-4 times this way over the past 4 days. I have no connection with the router connected now. It says wire unplugged. I was thinking it was the router but have found out another DSL customer in my town has the exact same issue and he has a different router.  Did Verison reset some security programs that won't allow my router to connect or is Verison DSL having issues we are not aware of in Greenwood, DE?  It is just strange that two residences are experiencing the same issues in different areas.

#1 What is the model of that Westell modem?

are you saying that the router says that or are you saying your OS (and Version - for example Windows XP) is saying that?

I'm actually the 15-year-old son of the person this account is signed up for (he's making me fix it because he has other things to do), but anyway, I'm experiencing the same problem, but I will go into a bit more detail than Estilo to verify it is the same and hopefully get a bit more help:
My dad's computer can connect straight to the modem (MSN Arescom NetDSL 800) and run the internet just fine, but only his computer; I've tried plugging my Xbox 360 directly into the modem, and it cannot connect because the ISP knows that it's not my dad's computer...?
But the internet will not run through the router to any computers connected to it. My dad's computer is even wired to the router, and still no internet. We've found that it's an IP issue, and trying to change that doesn't work as it give us a "169" IP (a "router is there, but I can't communicate with it" IP address) whenever we try to fix anything, rather than the "192.168.1.1" or ".2" that we should have.
My dad thinks (and I'm not entirely sure he's correctly, but I mostly agree with him) that the computer is the actual central hub for the internet, as in that it runs the administrative settings and makes the internet actually work for the rest of the computers (if his computer isn't on, no other computer can connect to the internet); the router is basically just a splitter.
The thing is, though, that this problem started randomly about 2 weeks ago as my dad was just looking up some things on craigslist.com; that was the point when the IP addresses changed completely for an undiscernable reason. And 2 weeks ago, my computer was able to connect to the router wirelessly and access the administrative settings. My cousin (who works in this stuff) recommended that I see what I can do to fix the problem by editing the administrative settings from my computer, but now I cannot connect to the router whatsoever.
My dad and I have narrowed it down to a driver problem, and I'm not sure what to do about it. The reason for this is we tried getting a new router (the WRT54G), and the same connection issue remained. If this is the problem, you know what the problem really is, or you have questions, let both me and Estilo know.
    Simplified Outline:
+  comp to modem (MSN Arescom NetDSL 800) [working]
+  comp to router (BEFW11S4) [failed]
+  comp to new router (WRT54G) [failed]
+  router to internet [failed] (incorrect IP to connect to ISP)
    +  not a router problem
    ?  driver problem
?  designated computer needed as central hub
    -  wireless connection to router was recognized (no longer works?)

  • AP1121G connection with Internet Router

Hi! My requirement is to connect the access point to an Internet Router through a common L2 switch so that wifi-enabled laptops will receive public ips through the DHCP pool defined on the AP and be able to access raw internet. The Internet Router has 2 subnets one for the leased-line and the other on the LAN interface.
I have configured the BVI interface with one of those public IPs and specified the default-gateway as the LAN IP on the Internet Router; on which I have created a reverse route for reachability to the public subnet on AP.
I am able to reach to the default-gateway but have no reachability for the subnets beyond.
While working on the problem, I have connected a laptop directly to the LAN interface and confirmed connectivity and browsing to the internet. Next, I bypassed the Nortel switch and connected the AP directly to the LAN interface, I can ping to the public dns servers but browsing is not happening.
However, I can browse from wifi laptops when I connect the AP on the client LAN segment.
Am I missing something here? Please have a look and advise.

You really should be nat'ing on the router...
Let me get this straight... you have an router with 2 ethernet ports. One is for the lease line and the other is connected to a layer 2 switch? The AP is connected to the layer 2 switch and is on the same vlan as the port on the router?
When you bypass the Nortel switch and connect to the router everything works, but when you connec to the Nortel switch it doesn't.
Check to see if you have native vlan checked on the AP... you might have to set the native vlan or no tagging on the Nortel switch in which the ap is connected to.

  • Intermittent Connection with WRT120N router

Hi, I recently bought a WRT-120N router a week ago for my friends and I to use the internet wirelessly. The package I got supposed to give me speeds up to 25Mbps but I can only access these speeds when I'm directly connected to the router via a cable. When I try to connect wirelessly the connection cuts off every 5 mins or so and the speed is less than a fifth of what it's supposed to be even when my computer is the only one on the network. I want to be able to allow everyone equal access to the full speeds when connected wirelessly and not have it cut off every 5 mins. Also, the wireless internet seems to work better for everyone else when I'm connected using the cable but I want to have it in such a way that even when I'm not there everyone can still access the full speeds. I've tried changing the channel for the router and changing the default i.p. so far. Please help. Thanks in advance.

It seems that the wireless connection might be dropping on your router.
Try to upgrade/re-flash the firmware on the router. Download the latest firmware of the router from the Linksys website.
While upgrading the firmware of the router, your computer must be connected to the router with the Ethernet cable.
Open the router configuration page. Go to the Administration tab and click on Firmware upgrade sub tab. Browse the Firmware file that you have already downloaded on your computer and upgrade the firmware on your router.
After upgrading the firmware of the router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure the router.
Press and hold the reset button on the router for 10 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 10 seconds. Power cycle the router. Now reconfigure the router.

  • No connection with the router

After making a normal virus-scan with avast anti-virus suddenly my network card started to go crazy. I had no connection to my router. when i checked my network connection there was nothing... no ip-adress no dns-server nothing. Also no packages were send or received. I have a toshiba tecra S2 and i reinstalled my networkcard three times already everytime with the newest network drivers. It#s also no problem related to my router because the two other pc's at home just work fine.
    hope you can help me

    Hi there,
you said you already reinstalled the network card. And it did not worked.
So I have a little suggestion for you:
To test if your card is working properly, download "UBCD4WIN Live CD" (XP Live CD - very userfriendly windowsXP starting from CD) and burn it to a CD.
    www.ubcd4win.com
After that boot with it, and try to make a connection with your notebook to your router. If you get a connection, then something in your OS is broken and I suggest you to make a system
    recovery.
If no connection is given, try a Biosupdate and exchange the Network cable.
If nothing will work, bring your machine to a ASP (Authorized Service Partner) for repair or at least a hardware checkup.
    Good luck &
    Greets

  • SLD configuration - JCO connection with SAP Router

    Hi,
I installed the new Sneak Preview SP11 Java Edition including SAP Portal. I tried to run an own Web Dynpro Application with RFC-Access on a R/3 System.
Unfortunately I was not able to get the JCO Connection to run. The R/3 System is reached via SAP Router. I am a little bit confused, because with the last Sneak Preview (SP6 or SP7) this application was running without problems. Of course I thought that this can't be. So I uninstalled SP11 and installed the old version (SP7). I configured the JCO-connection, no problems.
Now I know that this is not my mistake (hopefully ).
If I configured a JCO-connection in SP11 and tried to PING, the first PING was ok. After testing the connection with user, the PING failed. The testing with user returns something like "user or password are not accepted".
    Any ideas?
    Best regards
    Renald

In your SLD configuration,  what do you have as your Logon Group under the message server config.  Is it "PUBLIC".  if so, then the user id needs to belong to that Logon Group in the system.

  • Facetime no longer connects with new router

I used to be able to facetime with my old Linksys g router. I upgrade the router to an ASUS N router and although the iPod connects just fine to the wi-fi network, facetime just rings and doesn't connect.  Others are unable to ring me as well.  I found the apple tech spec that provides guidance on how to set the router settings (ie, set 2.4 at 20 instead of 40 mps); however, it did not help.  Any ideas?

  • Troubled Connection with WRT150N Router

I  have purchased a WRT150N Linksys wireless router. I am able to connect to it most of the time, however, it loses connection MANY times. The connection seems unstable, because it can never stay connected for an extended period of time. Is there any way to stabalize the connection?

I have the exact same problem. It loses connection after about an hour. It's doing this right out of the box.
Also, I have logs enabled but they do not seem to work. They are all blank with the exception of the DHCP Client log, which reads:

  • Help needed to configure WVC54GC cam with BEFW11S4 router:

OK...I have to admit that I'm finally having to ask for help!  I'm handy with most computer problems, but i.p. addresses, port forwarding and dns stuff is kinda over my head.  I need someone to walk me through the steps.  I've got the camera setup to the point that I can view the image in the Linksys setup, but I want to be able to share it on the net.  I'm stumped with how to do this.  I'm told I need to forward ports on my router etc.  I've been into the router settings and there is no "gaming tab" as is suggested, but I can find port settings under advanced, although they look different.
I've also setup an account with DynDNS updater,as I'm told I'll need this to maintain a connection.  The settings in there are equally as daunting, so any help here would also be beer worthy....LOL!
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
    Cheers!

Once you login to your Router setup Page.... on the Very Right Side you need to click on the Advance Tab  and then you need to click on the Forwarding Tab and Below you can Open the Ports for your Camera.

  • Slow connection with WRT160N router through wired & wireless

When I connected directly to my cable modem, I got ~10Mbs. But when I connected through my new WRT160N router with either wired or wireless, I got only half the speed, which is 4-5Mbs. Anyone know why or any idea how to change the setting to make the connection faster. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Login to the web administration interface and under the security tab disable SPI (stateful packet inspection). This feature is designed to detect wan interface attacks (ping of death) and block the sender. It kills your throughput for your internet connection. Try xferring a file across your lan (wireless to wired pc) and check your N speeds. The xfer speed should be 100mbps since the wired pc will most likely be limited to 100mbps by your nic. If lan speed is slower than 100mbps (assuming you have and are using N standard) then you may have a bad router. Definitely disable SPI though and that should fix your slow wan speed.

  • Wifi connection with netgear router DG824M - one solution

I have had some problems with connecting iphone via wifi with my home router
    Netgear DG824M
I'm still having a problem with the encryption issue but have at least found one solution to another security issue and thought it might help others so i am posting:-
If you have mac address filtering turned on (netgear describes this as only "trusted PC's" can connect) , you may find that you get an IP Address clash when you try to connect your iphone (or some other apple equipment)
I found that this resolved if i selected an "reserved IP address" for the iphone - in my casei chose 192.168.0.10 (since the router allows up to .51)
(the phone otherwise took 192.168.0.3 which clashed with another device)
This was not an issue when "trusted pc's" feature was turned off on the router

Ok guys. This is the simple way i used to connect my iPhone to my Netgear router.
    1. In your iPhone, go to Settings>General>About. Then, scroll down to "Wi-Fi Address". This is your MAC address. This you will need in order to authorize your phone in your Netgear page (which usually looks something like XXX.XXX.X.X (where "X" are numbers)).
    2. Log in to you Netgear page.
    3. On the blue left panel of the screen, click on "Wireless Settings". A new page comes up.
    4. Click on "Setup Access List".
    5. Click on "Add" to enter the require info needed for your phone to gain access to your network.
    6. On "Device Name" I entered "iPhone". This name is irrelevant for i named my iPhone differently and using just "iPhone" worked. So enter whatever name you wish, but keep it simple.
    7. Now, on "Mac Address" (the single most important info here) enter the number you obtained in Step 1. Make sure you enter it with the colons (:).
    8. Add and apply, and wait for the blue bar at the top of the screen to do its thing. It will take only a few seconds to update the network.
    That's all! Connect and enjoy!
I hope this was helpful. Let me know if it worked at [email protected]
