Connection with Windows 7 PC by USB - PlayBook not Recognized on File Explorer of BlackBerry Desktop
When I connect my PlayBook (OS 2.1) to my Windows 7 PC using USB cable, I do hear the familiar two-tone sound indicating connection, but the Windows File Explorer does not create a Drive Designation letter (such as Z:\). And BlackBerry Desktop Software (latest update), does not recognize it either. I have already tried re-booting the tablet and computer.
uninstall BlackBerry device manager ( not desktop manager), reboot, connect playbook and wait for like 10 minutes for driver to install

Windows 7 says "USB Device not recognized"
Hi!
I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 and 64-bit iTunes installed. My iPod Photo 40GB won't work with that computer, but works fine with my old XP 32-bit computer.
Is there any way to solve this problem? When I plug in the iPod, it says "Installing driver" for a short time, then says "USB device not recognized". I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times, tried to force W7 to install drivers from "iPod Updater 2005-01-11" and also used Windows update.
Are there any 64-bit drivers available? I really need to put some music on the iPod now!!Have you tried the suggestions here:

Operating system: Windows Vista
Error: USB Device not recognized
While actively on the computer, we suddenly got a message stating that the USB Device was not recognized. The only thing plugged in to the USB port was a mouse. Tried all the ports, same message. Tried another mouse, same thing. Tried a thumb drive, and low and behold, 2 of the 3 USB ports worked. Tried a URL from MS which is supposed to help with this exact problem and possibly fix it: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Tips-for-solving-problems-with-USB-devices
This didn't work.
Contacted HP support and they wanted me to restore back to a restore point as well as updating my BIOS. After searching the issue more extensively using Google, I found that several people said to do this:
Shut down the computer
Remove the power plug
Remove the battery
Put the battery back in
Power up the computer (without the power plug)
This forces a hard reset.
Almost as if by magic, the problem disappeared. A much simpler and less technical solution to the problem than what HP recommended!!!!Hi @yani1015,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see when you were installing your HP Printer you got a message on your Computer saying 'USB Device not Recognized.' To better assist you can you leave me with the following information:

USB device not recognized ... any help ?
Hey guys,
So i went to plug my iPhone 3G into my PC running Windows Vista and it comes up with the error message,
"USB Device Not Recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."
Last time this happened I uninstalled the USB Root Hubs on my computer and when they reinstalled my iPhone connected, but it has happened again and this method no longer works.
I've tried restoring my phone, turning it on and off, i tried stopping my computer from turning off my USB ports but to no avail...its getting very frustrating because i can't sync my phone
ANY suggestions would be great PLEASEEEE!

iPhone 3G plugged into PC(Windows 7) 'USB is Not Recognized' and unable to restore; stuck on 'Connect to iTunes'
I was in the process of putting another firmware for my iPhone(an .ipsw via. itunes) and the house had a power cut. The computer was in the middle of restoring the iPhone but never finished. The apple logo came on and then came onto the 'connect to itunes' screen. My sim card was in but there is no option to slide for emergency. When I Plug it into my computer, a message pops up saying that the 'USB Device Not Recognized', I've tried to plugging my iPhone into my laptop and other Computers but the same message occurs (all windows 7). Other articles say that the error is with the iPhone, I need help!! Can anybody offer some advice on what to do?

IPod still not connecting with windows
I recently got a replacement iPod from Apple. I connected my iPod with my computer and the "Do not disconnect." sign shows up instantly. It was there for over 20 hours so I disconnected it. I checked out the 5 step guide for Windows to recognize the iPod, but it still doesn't work. I'm using the exact same cable and USB port that I used on my old iPod. The iPod is not recognized by my PC or by iTunes. When using the iPod updater, the only option available is "restore" and I already tried that. Whenever I connect my iPod to Windows, it always says "USB device not recognized." and the iPod always goes to the "Do not disconnect." screen. Can anyone help me?
I have a similar problem, excpet that my ipod just stopped being recognised by itunes, although Windows Exploere recognises it. When I run the updater, it keeps telling me to plug in my ipod (even when it is plugged it) and both the update and restore buttons are greyed out.
No hardware has been installed since the ipod was last working properly.
I've tried everything suggested at the website... I've reset the ipod, installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest versions of updater and itunes repeatedly, performed restarts running only the ipod drivers using system config, nothing works. I've tried the ipod on both firewire and USB2 connections with the same result - Windows Explorer sees the ipod, but not itunes or ipod updater.
I figure the ipod needs to be restored to its factory settings, but how do I do this if the software to do so won't recognise the ipod? Is there a hardware option to do a complete restore/reset? -
"USB Device Not Recognized" Bubble/ Ipod won't connect to Windows
Whenever i connect my ipod to my computer the ipod goes to "do not disconnect" and a bubble pops up on my computer saying "USB DEvice Not Recognized" i have switched it to all of my usb ports and unplugged all usbs except for my mouse at the same time. this happens 95% of the time. my ipod does charge while connected and it has only connected to itunes once in the past 2 weeks. im not sure if it is itunes because it started around the time i updated to itunes 7. since it is a windows bubble though i think it is a windows or ipod problem and not itunes. i have a dell that isnt great but works fine.
thanks for any help.
... Go TTU!Make that two idiots. My roommate got a Sansa and I decided to try out the cable. Nothing happened. Now suddenly my nano isn't recognized by my computer. I'm glad I read your post, now I can stop looking high and low for a solution. Until this happened it worked good as new.

TS1369 why doesnt my 5th gen ipod nano not connect with windows 8?
why doesnt my 5th gen ipod nano not connect with windows 8?
Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 -
why does not ipad show on itunes? when i connected with my macbook using usb, just it is charging electricity.
i don't know why...Sometimes it can be something very simple and easy to fix. Before you get into any involved troubleshooting, quit iTunes, restart your Mac, restart your iPad and then try to sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If this doesn't work, then try the more involved stuff. -
"USB Device Not Recognized" Message when connecting iPod Nano
I get the following windows pop up when connecting my son's iPod Nano
*"USB Device Not Recognized"*
*One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.*
I have successfully connected this device to this computer before so I don't know what has changed.
Message was edited by: ipodnannouserThis did not work for me. I have a laptop that was running Windows XP, and it had no problems recognizing the iPod. I was having problems with XP, and rather then reinstall XP, I did a clean install of Vista. I did a settings transfer, so the new install of iTunes came already configured--I mention this since I don't know if it was a factor.
When I plugged in the iPod, I got the USB Device Not Recognized. The usbstor.inf file did not fix the problem. However, the solution at http://www.winvistabeta.com/groups/275128/ipod-usb-device-not-recognized/message .aspx did fix the problem. Do this:
Reset the iPod:
1. Unplug the iPod.
2. Turn the hold switch to HOLD and then back to off.
3. Hold the Center and Menu buttons for 6 seconds until you get the Apple logo when you release them.
4. Plug in the iPod. It should now be recognized.
This worked fine for me the first time. Thanks! Jack -
Nokia e65, USB device not recognized using windows...
Hello,
When I am trying to connect e65 to pc I always get "USB device not recognized". I tried to reinstall nokia pc suite, after that I've restarted phone and PC but it doesn't help. I tried to install older nokia pc suite versions and it doesn't help too. I'am using CA-53 cable.
P.S. I tried to reinstall only Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver but nothing happened..
Maybe someone has a solution for this?@techvitalie
Is it only as Windows USB mass storage device that it is not recognised by PC or same issue if connected in PC Suite mode with PCSuite/Ovi Suite installed?

"USB Hardware Not Recognized by Windows"
Please help. I keep getting an error mssage "USB Hardware not Recognized by Windows" I believe i have tried it all. Uninstalled Itunes. Reinstalled Itunes.
Okay I just tried pluggin it in as I typed this and it worked. The only thing I did diffrent was I unplugged my External Back-up drive.
Is this Common? Can anyone help explain this to me?I have a combo floppy drive/USB 2.0 card reader and I believe I have the same problem.
I'm not over-clocking and while USB shows up in WinXP in device manager the card reader is not recognized by the system even though I KNOW I have it connected correctly. The floppy works fine.
I believe the 4 USB ports on the mobo are non-functional but can't test it until Thursday sometime.
Hopefully this is correctable with a BIOs update.
Anyone else have issues with the USB ports on the mobo and if so, were you able to fix it? How?
