Connections folder outside public_html

Hi all, wonder if anyone can help a newbie.
I have created Mysql database on webserver.
I have made a Dreamweaver connection to the db, created php
connection file which is in Connections folder.
But the folder is located one level up (outside) from my
public_html folder - is this correct? I was wondering if all
folders and files should be inside my public_html folder, in which
case I must have made a mistake when in Site Manager.
I found the settings in Site Manager quite confusing so have
probably made a mistake somewhere with the "host directory".
If it is incorrect, how should I move the files.
Also because I was changing site manager settings to get the
connection working I now have 2 mmServerScript folders on my web
server; one inside public_html and one outside!
Would I be best to delete both folders and start again! How
should I go about repairing this?
Many thanks for any advice

Done thanks....

  • 30EA1 - SQL-Developer 3.0.02 Connection Folder Bug

    hi,
there are several treads concerning the poor "connection folder" (no sub-folders, folder-structure not in connection export,...) functionality...
Today i found an new annoying "feature". If you rename a connection within a folder and restart SQL Developer, you will find the connection outside at the bottom of the folders. If you rename all connections within a folder, the folder disappears after restart.
Its essential to reimplement the connection pane. The storage of the folder-structure outside "connections.xml" in "product-preferences.xml" will always be unmanageable!

Bug 9734466: RENAME CONNECTION MOVES IT OUT OF THE CURRENT FOLDER

When I republish my site the updates save to a different folder within public_html so it cant be viewed..... How do I change this?
My site is up and running but if i make changes on iWeb they get put in a new folder within the public_html folder. I then click on this and they are all showing in there but i have to manually move them to the correct folder for them to be shown on my website. The folder that is made is always named whatever I enter into the SITE NAME section on the screen where the ftp information is entered.
How can I get the updates to go directly into the public folder without it make a new folder? I have checked the settings but there isn't much I can see.
    ALSO......
The names of the folders come up in the domain bar... how do i change this?
    thanks

I am saving my projects to my Creative Cloud account and use the CC Connection. My .psdx files appear in my CC Connection folder as icons, not as image thumbnails. What am I doing wrong?

Btw, which OS are you using?
PSDX files might not be supported by the OS for a preview if that's what you mean about preview.
E.g. I cannot see the previews of PSD files either on a Windows desktop.

  • RAC node connected to outside DB  and pass 2 IP address

    Experts,
we have a 4 nodes 11.1 RAC at red hat
As we know each node have 3 IP. --public, vip and privated IP.
it works well in domain inside network.
But we get a problem when try to connect to outside network client's database.
the connection string pass 2 IPs to client firewall (based on network monitor).
listener log show that connection is OK. But Conection is still blocked by client's firewall side.
The client network staff told us that we passed two IP address during connected connection.
Could some experts explain why does the RAC node's connected requested passs two IP to client database?
It is only discovered by network staff. we could not see 2 IP information in listener log file.
Is it our firewall NAT setting issue? or client firewall NAT setting issue
    Thanks

    Hi Experts
The Two IP addresses that were being passed were one of the load balancer and one of the db server. the load balancer was supposed to mask the load balancer IP address and only pass the db IP address. Somehow, we were sending both IP to client database--outside network. But IT works well in inter network side. How to eliminate the load balancer IP address from coming to client network firewall --to client database server side?

  • Problem when Flash connects to outside

I am working an Flex source code from the client. It connects
to javascript outside using ExternalInterface. Everything is ok.
However, when I tested in other machine, there are a problem. Most
browsers don't allow Flash to connect to outside by default. To let
it run, I have to change the Global Security Settings Pannel. It's
painful when most users don't want to do that.
Is there any solution for that? Please help me.
    Thank in advance.

Please help me. I am a newbie.
Here are code in mxml that I am using to connect.

  • Domain computers can't runt RD Web applications when connected from outside company – Windows server 2012 R2

    Hi Everyone,
I have a question related to RDweb service.
I have successfully installed RD web role on windows server 2012 R2.
All went ok. I also installed a valid third party certificate.
I can connect from outside to the server and run applications using any devices: Ipad’s, mobiles and laptops.
The problem is that: Any Computer/Laptop that is joined on the domain can connect to RDWEB from outside the company BUT CAN'T RUN ANY APPLICATIONS. The RD session is taking long time it failes.
Note that from inside the network is working.
    What it can be?
    Thank you in advance,
    Criss

    Hi,
The internet connection from where I’m doing the tests is quite good. I think the error with the latency is not relevant because probably the computerRD gateway it doesn’t allow it and that way it fails with this error. For a computer that never been joined
on the domain is working perfect no delay at all..
We are using RD Gateway … installed everything on the same machine Windows server 2012 R2.
When I click RemoteApp I see the remote the prompt of RD gateway, I click ok, then nothing happened for 2-3 min. after this time it brings the error with the delay.. OR “couldn’t connect on the remote computer because an error occurred on the remote
computer that you want to connect to.”
Again, the connection is failing ONLY when we try to connect from outside the company and it happened ONLY with the Computers that are joined on the Domain.
EX: An user (with Office Laptop - joined on domain) can connect to RD Gateway and lunch the RemoteApp’s from inside LAN but when is leaving Home can’t run the Remote App;s. In the meantime he can connect and run RemoteApp’s with his private computer.
What it can be different between the Office and his home private computer?
For Outside users we’ve have open only port 443 on firewall. Why need to open UPD 3391?
I’ve notice that if I take a laptop that is working and join it on the domain it will have the same issue. If will dis-join it will still have the same issue after all.
    Thank You

  • Where to locate Connections folder?

    Hi,
I've noticed that DW places the Connection folder in the site
    root which
seems to me to be a very bad place for security reasons. So
    my question
is, where is best place to put the Connection folder for a
    site, and how
do you do that from within DW when all site files are within
    the site
folder? Also, if you move the Connections folder somewhere
    above the
www folder, how will DW handle the path?
    TIA

    Hi Brett,
I agree that there are nasty hackers out there looking for
    ways in to
get sensitive data, but there are also millions of potential
    websites
for them to hack, and they normally pick ones where they have
    something
to gain. If your site has data that is critically sensitive,
    then you
need to be getting a security expert to certify your code,
    and if that
was the case, I wouldn't think Dreamweaver would be the tool
    of choice
    to create the code.
Macromedia responded to sql injection security alerts when
    they were
identified, there was a major change in all the recordset
    code and
behaviours, and this was in 8.02, so they took if very
    seriously, if
there was a serious flaw in the way connection folders are
    used, don't
you think that would have been addressed by now?
One thing I always forget to do is remove the scripts folder
    from my
live site after making tweaks to pages, as that folder is one
    that
contains code that will leave your site open to abuse. It
    under the site
menu, then advanced, and is called remove connection scripts.
    This isn't
the connections folder, its the _mmServerScripts folder, its
    copied to
the server each time you open a recordset, so you need to
    remove it once
    your done.
The advice from Adobe is to not copy them onto a live site,
    but its easy
to forget that the folder is there after you have made a
    quick change
that involves a recordset or server behaviour. Here is some
    more

  • Moved the "Connections" folder, now Dreamweaver CS3 can't find MySQL connection...

    Hi,
Dreamweaver creates a "Connections" folder in the site root
where all database connection files are stored. I want to move this
folder to another path but then DW can't find the connection (for
    example in admin/includes/Connections).
How can I tell DW the new path of the "Connections" folder so
I can still use DW extensions to find all available database
    connections?
    Thanks!

  • Dreamweaver Connections Folder Help Needed

I am working on Mac OS 10.4, Dreamweaver 8, PHP 4.1+ and
MySQL. I can get my database connection to work if I have it
directly in the PHP code but if I try to do it using the
Dreamweaver interface - the connection doesn't work. My testing
server and remote server all test ok on the connections. I believe
the problem is where the Connections folder is located but it
appears Dreamweaver only accepts it at the top level and the way my
hosting company configures their domains, it doesn't see the
connections folder and it doesn't work. I need to get it to work as
I want to use the Dreamweaver interface. I've searched every help
forum and tried many suggestions with no luck - anybody run into
    the same problem?
    Thanks!

password is "1143mak" to see the first page that comes inside the
members area I need to change just a little. PHP is installed on a
remote server running on Windows. I need help or guidance on this

  • Understanding CME connection to outside world - PSTN

    Dear All,
This is regarding Cisco CME connection to outside world PSTN. I know how to setup VOIP LAN but want to understand outside binding. I have some points, please help me to understand.
    1. What types of gatways are available like PSTN, PRI, SIP (if any other) etc and which one is good?
    2. How statically asign PSTN numbers to internal extensions? As I checked some sample CME config, no where phone numbers are mentioned.
    3. How to make many to one, if few PSTN numbers are available.
I will be thankful if anyone can help on this. Also please share documents if available.
    Thank You,
    Abhisar.

    Hi Abhisar,
Here are answers from my side...
    1. What types of gatways are available like PSTN, PRI, SIP (if any other) etc and which one is good? - My preference would be a SIP trunk.
    2.  How statically asign PSTN numbers to internal extensions? As I checked  some sample CME config, no where phone numbers are mentioned. - This is done by converting called number to internal ext format by using Translation rule, profile under dial-peer.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/call-routing-dial-plans/61083-voice-transla-rules.html
    3. How to make many to one, if few PSTN numbers are available. - Again this would be done through voice translation rule at GW.

  • Rename "Connections" folder?

I've always liked to visually separate my folders into two
categories: Assets and Pages. My asset folders (_images, _include,
_css, etc) are of course messed up because Dreamweaver forces my
'Connections' folder to what it is 'Connections'. This is something
that has bothered me since Ultradev 4, I'm just now finally fed up
after we finally upgraded to CS3 this week. I kept trying to
convince myself that we could rename that folder in the "next
version". Since I've worn myself out trying to find the option,
does anybody know if it might be possible?
    Thanks,

    Simple answer: no.
You're trying to do what many others attempt to do with the
    Templates
folder. If you change the name, you break all the internal
    workings of
    Dreamweaver related with that folder.
If you want to rely on Dreamweaver to look after file
    relationships,
you'll need to comply with Dreamweaver conventions.

  • Getting rid of the Evil Microsoft rdc connections folder

Just bought a lovely new imac but unfortunately Microsoft has followed me in the form of microsoft office 2011 and has bought along with it, its old invasive filing habits. and has been busy messing up my documents folder. I found a solution to getting rid of the Microsoft user data folder by moving it to user/library/preferences but the RDC connections folder keeps returning when I launch the remote desktop connection app. Is there anyway of moving this folder out of my documents too ?
    Thanks

The command "chflags hidden <foldername>" just hides the folder from graphical interfaces. The folder will still be visible in terminal. In terminal if you type "ls" you will see all folders including hidden ones.
So to unhide execute the following command in terminal.
    "chflags nohidden <foldername>"
Specific commands for this use case are:
To hide:      "chflags hidden ~/Documents/RDC\ Connections/"
    To un-hide:  "chflags nohidden ~/Documents/RDC\ Connections/"

  • Folder outside of public_html how to access in Dreamweaver

    Hi
I am sure this is simple, but cant see an example...
I am experimenting with storing some image files out side of the public_html area, so that they can only be accessed by people with a login.
But, I dont see how to do that in DW and how to sync it.
I created a local path of C:\xampp\htdocs\Photop\Pics in which I placed the jpg image and linked that on the index page.   I've set up a test site, www.photop.co.uk .  This is stored under public_html/photop/Pics on the  server.  This means of course that anyone can type the path in and see  the file in a browser
Can anyone point me in the right direction to allow me to learn how to set up the directory and ftp?
    Regards

I run a member's only site off the public_html root.
The member's only folder is in a sub-folder to keep it separate from the rest of the site which is open to general public.

              +Images
              +Media
              page1.php
              page2.php
              page3.php
When user clicks on the members link, they are asked for their unique name and password.  Afterwards, they have full access to all content in that protected folder.   It works without any additional prompts for log-in.
Beyond that, I don't really care if they can ascertain where the images or media files are located.  If it was a concern, I wouldn't publish them on the web in the first place.
