Hi All,
We are using Crystal Reports 11.5.3 in windows 7(64 bit) environment.
At the same time we are using Oracle 11G Client (64bit).
1) Could anyone let us know is this compatible with the windows 7 64 bit environment?
2) We are able to create the ODBC in the system successfully. But when we are trying to connect through the CRystal Reports then we are getting the error as below :
"Details : IM014: [MICROSOFT][ODBC DRIVER MANAGER] The specified DSN contains an architechture mismatch between the Driver and Application."
3) Finally we are unable to see the "Oracle Server" type of connection in the database explorer in the crystal report.

Hi,
I'm having an issue where I have synchronization with the exchange but have no internet connection.
Checked for noise on the line and it is clean, the router is saying the ISP is not reponding to PPPoE packets which would suggest this is a settings issue...
have the connection details changed?
I have tried all the different settings I could find via google and nothing has worked, have also waited for 3 days to see if it was an exchange end problem, still down and status page says everything is fine in my area.
For completeness here are the connection details I have had for the last year or so:
Annex A
UserName: [email protected]
password: blank
VLAN: 101
VPI: 1
VCI: 32
encapsulation: PPPoE
DNS is provided by ISP
The router itself is a Fritz!Box 7390 running Fritz!OS 6.06
I have also tried with no VLAN and with VPI: 0 VCI: 38 and every combination thereof...
Have I missed something?

Turns out the issue was as simple as a firmware update, had quite an old version.
So for google searches Fritz!box 7390 routers need to update to Fritz!OS 6.20 and the issue is solved.
Might have something to do with G.INP as that never showed up in the old firmware.

LDAP list of DB Services contains duplicate name, with wrong connect detail

Sqldeveloper 2.1.1.64 (running on Vista, or Linux)
Using LDAP to define a db connection, connection to the ldap server is successful and returns a list of ~360 database entries.
Within this list 2 database names appear twice with the next db name is missing. Of concern is the connection details supplied with the database
are for the next (omitted) db!
The work around is to use the basic connection type when defining the 4 databases.
Is this a known problem ? Is there a fix available ?

Changing database connection details aftre WAR file deployment

Hello,
I create a WAR deployment file and distribute this to a Tomcat web container. The package unpacks as expected however the production database details are different from my devlopment environment. The database connection name is the same. I thought if I simply change the connection details in the connections.xml file and restart the web app this would do the trick. It does not. What am I missing?

Maybe your application is using a connection as defined in data-sources.xml. Check there.

Connection details using SQL

Is there any way to find the connection details using sqlplus once a connection is made to the database. I would like to see the information similar to what I get while using the tnsping .

Hi Bikas,
That reply is just because Diego got irritated by Ravi asking the same question in many threads many times .
Otherwise if a SAP server is not secureed using secureclient you can always connect to that SAP system using the internet and your own SAP GUI ( perhaps based on the GUI compatibility )
But i bet, nobody will reveal SAP server as open for you.

What is the best recommended approach for defining, storing and maintaining passwords for connections?
We are working on a product development using Oracle ADF 11g and would like the system to have capability to connect to one or more database and other servers at the client site(s). For development purposes, we specify the connection information in Jdeveloper, but do not believe that this approach can work in a production scenario, especially where the solution requires to be deployed at multiple sites.
This could be applicable for database connections, application connections, webservices etc.
Appreciate your inputs.

Assuming you're using ADF BC under JDev 11g, then the trick is to use a "JDBC datasource" that maps to a JNDI datasource on your WLS server. Effectively it's a named resource on the server that has all the db credentials, can be setup by developers easily on their integrated WLS, and easily with separate db connection details under test/prod etc. In this way you're not deploying the unsecure details, you're in fact hooking into a resource preconfigured on the JEE server.

BPC BW connection details...

Where do mention..that BPC development systemm( XXX) number need to be connected to BW system number(XXX).
I know for BW >ECC connection details are mentioned in the SM59 transaction code..
But just trying to know how this works for BPC>BW connection details..

The BPC (version for Netweaver) system is collocated within the BW system...they are one system. No connection between BW systems are required,
The architecture of the BPC does require a .NET server connection however, and that server must be connected to the BW system. For details on how this is done, please see the BPC installation guide at:

Yup, that did it.
I actually had been made aware of the patch when I downloaded CF, but for some reason I thought it was difficult to install (I thought that you could only use the installer package if you could open Administrator). IAC I downloaded the appropriate patch file, ran it and Administrator ran. There was something in the install notes about reconfiguring the websites and removing the IIS6 Management feature but I'm not going to fool with anything because right now at least CF is running.

resolved by me itself.
Do the following steps:
1. Open the report in the CR XI designer.
2. Select Database -> Set Datasource Location.
3. Set Datasource Location window will appear and in the replace with section connect to the database and replace these tables with the tables in the current datasource by clicking the update button.
4. After updating close the Set Datasource Location window.
5. Go to 'Database menu' and Click 'Verify Database' and click on u2019OKu2019.
6. Preview the report and the save the report.

Error when access EP - Dispatcher running but no server connected- details

Hi every body:
I have problem when I try to access SAP EP with URL: http://192.168.122.82:50000/irj/portal
I tried to activate the debug remote, I access on configTool and on the section of process node I activate the options of debugabble, enable debugable , restricted load balancing.
Then I apply the changes and restart the services and my SAP EP didn't run. I try to deploy my app on NWDS and the it can't connect with vm and check whether the SAP J2EE Engine is up and running.
All the services are running.
Then I try to revert the configuration of debug to try deactivate the options, apply and restart the services but my SAP EP get the error:
SAP WebAS Engine is starting...
If this state does not change within a few minutes,
please contact your system administrator.

Please check the service in SAP MMC are running or not. if not running, then you need to check the log file to identify the root cuase of the issue. If it is running fine then update the host and ip address in the host file and acces the portal with fully qualified domain name (fqdn) like http://<host>:<port>/

finally i got that file. it is
<jdev_install> /jdev/system/oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.n.nn/IDEConnections.xml
where <jdev_install> is the root directory in which JDeveloper is installed.
But there is one more file connections.xml for deployed password.i'm not sure
abt this.

SQL/VBA SDK to view Universe Connection details from CMS

Am trying to find Database Name and User Name from Universe Connections. It looks like all these details are placed as a Property bag. So am looking for VBA code to view the Property bag or any direct Query Builder SQL to fetch these details.

FIleclient to XI connection details :SRM Interaction

I am struck up in proposing a solution to the client.
Existing Flow.
In the existing Topology, the suppliers are interacting with Commerce one using documents in XCVL format.The Suppliers connect the Commerce one site using FIleCLient for sending and receiving the documents.
The Fileclient automatically picks up the document from the folder and send to Commerce one from their based on Buyers details is posts the document in Buyers system(SRM).Vice versa, when ever their is document laying in commerce one , it picks from that place and posts in FIle client directory using HTTPS.
FileCLient:
This piece of GUI software was written in JAVA using Swings.Every supplier has to install locally this software on their servers .It has lot of directories/sub directories.In one of the folder called Properties they are configuring the Commerce one site details, Buyers details ,Login/pwd...
To Propose:
Now we are shifting the business process from Commerce one to XI3.0 sp15.
Now the suppliers need to connect to XI for sending and receiving the documents using HTTPS.where and How to make
the necessary changes in FileCLient software so that the suppliers can run their business using existing one.
Can any one guide me.

its not that an IDOC is created when you activate change pointer,basically an IDOC will be created as soon as any changes are made to the underlyin table(s).
and your requirement is exactly the same,you just need to figure out which IDOC you want to use,then activate the change pointers for that IDOC and schedule the report i said in earlier reply,once all this has been IDOC's will be distributed (to XI) as soon as any change has been made.
secondly proxy is a different concept,we use proxy if there is no standard IDOC or RFC or if performance is a big constraint.in proxy you need to schedule ABAP report which will send the updated data
you have to use either IDOC or Proxy depending upon your requirement.
my suggestion would be to use IDOC if the data load is not too much and you already have an existing IDOC to serve your purpose,if you don't have an IDOC or performance is a huge issue then write a ABAP proxy and send data.

Hi,
Is there a way to find the details of all the open connections. We are actually having 300+ connections established in our server, which we guess would be a cause for slow performance. And we are running on JDK 1.3 version.
Any help/hint would help.

cause for slow performance. I certainly think that it cant be 300+ concurrent connections. Ideally connections are pooled so the app server would reuse the connection from the pool. However if care is not taken to close the connection in finally block then it may cause connection leaks !
Check the application server log for leaks.
Slow performance is not necessarily caused due to too many connections. You can optimize it by adding appropriate indexes, making the joins to tables so that it uses the index.
In case you use log4j then set the debug level to INFO in log4j.xml.
Too many debug statements causes a lot of I/O operations. Plus there are many more reasons. So try to investigate on these lines.
