Connectivity Issue - Server Network - Windows Servers

Hello
I'm  having connectivity issues, from my network, with the Servers Network  that's located behind the Ace 4710... I'm monitoring the servers and i  get Timeouts with a simple ICMP monitor... This problem is only with Windows Servers...
I  never have problems regarding the access to the Admin context, but in  the context that i use to load balance the applications i have problems
reaching directly the servers...
For  example... I have two servers and i lose connectivity with one of them  for about 2-5 minutes and then i regain connectivity... If i undo the ft  group and redo the ft group i regain instant access to the server... As i said this problems only appear with Windows Servers...
Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the reply Gilles...

  • Connect to server smb  (windows server) loose connection

    HI there,
I have a macbook and am connected to a local windows network.
    I connect via finder/go/ connect to server / smb://........
I can connect even though sometimes it takes more than 3 attempts before it connects.
The error I get is the following:
There was a problem connecting to the server "***".
The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time.
Check the server name or IP address ,
check your network connection, and then try again.
This is very annoying and I don't know why this is. It drives me nuts. Also if I am connected it last about 1 minute and the connection has been terminated and I cen try again to connect..... Where is the problem? Mac OSX drives me crazy at the moment, it's not a nice working.. I am very frustrated if anyone has a clue what I can do please get in touch.

I'm having the same issue using my Mac.  I did try going through the account setup on my Mac Mail for my verizon.net account and it automatically set it up using the old settings(very interesting).  It wants to use incoming.verizon.net and outgoing.verizon.net.  That actually worked.  I got a test message.  It was slow but did receive but sending one out from outgoing.verizon.net did not work.  Obviously they are having major problems with this switch-over.  There is nothing on the website about problems so my guess is they fouled up and are trying to recover without taking the fall again.

I try disable Firewall of window 2008 in server machine and client can connect to server. But when i disable firewall, it's mean  i can not use Remote desktop or terminal service..
Now, how i can do in order to solve this problem.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Take a look at the admin guide (Page 75, 119, 159):
If you installed a firewall on the license service computer, make sure that the firewall is not set to port 30000; otherwise, the license service cannot work.
If you are using Port X, make sure that you open Port X and Port (X+1) in the firewall. For example, if you are using port 10000, make sure to also open port 10001.
The default communication port is 1143.
The default port of the SAP Business One license server is 30000 for license communication and 30001 for the license naming service

  • CONNECT TO SERVER WITH WINDOWS PC - NO PASSWORD

I want to use the finder 'Connect to Server' command with my windows laptop to get some footage on to it from my mac, because I do my video editing on my PC. However, when I input SMB://pcIPadress it asks for crededentials, but when I enter my username and leave the password slot blank, it just shakes. My username is James, but it was previously changed from Eddy because it is a second hand PC. When I type eddy it says Accesss denied contact system Administrator. I thought there would be some solutions online, but it seems everybody has a password other than me?
    Please help!

Put a Password on your account on the PC. Windows by default does not allow LAN connections without having a passowrd on the account. Without a password there in no way for Windows to authenticate the computer trying to connect to it.
There are ways around this but it is simpler to just assign a password.

  • Oracle Client Side connectivity issues from a Windows XP Machine

I am sure most of you guys may have addressed this issue of the time delay the client application takes to retrieve the data from the Oracle database. However, here's my problem.
We have installed a VB application running on Windows Xp along with an Oracle 8i client. Now when the application tries to connect to the database at times the data fetching speed is quick and at times its really slow... takes almost 15-20 minutes.. We're not sure if this is an application issue/oracle client configuration issue or a network issue..
We've wasted alot of time blaming the network/connectivity.. However, is there anything that we would need to check at the clients pc.. oracle config etc.etc.. ???
    Please help..

Might want to try out a couple of things:
    When it's running slow:
    1. ping the server to see the response time of the server.
    2. check the CPU usage on the server. There could be a resource crunch taking place due to other large and/or multiple transactions going on.
    3. kill the VB connection and run the SQL from the command prompt and see how long it takes. Sometimes executing an SQL from the application may take longer, while from the command prompt, it's quicker. In this case, application tuning is required.
    4. check to see the CPU and memory usage on the client PC itself. If there are multiple applications in use chewing up these resources, it can and will slow things down on the client PC itself.
Oracle client does not require configuration as such.

  • Can't connect to server with Windows Live Mail

When I got the e-mail a few weeks ago about changing the e-mail settings, I did so.  I use Windows Live Mail on my home computer.  I have had not problems at all either sending or receiving mail from either of my accounts.
Early this morning, I checked my e-mail with no problem.  When I logged in again around noon, Windows Live Mail wouldn't connect with my server.  I double checked settings.  Everything was as instructed.  But I still couldn't connect.
I just changed them back to old settings and everything is working fine.
    What's going on???

  • WRT54G2 connection issues with a windows 2000 laptop, HELP!!! please?

Ok, at my house I have a newer version of a wireless router (I can't remember which). The old windows 2000 laptop that I have connects perfectly there, but when I installed a WRT54G2 router at my grandma's house it wouldn't connect to the router. My vista laptop and my grandma's vista desktop both are connecting to the router fine (as is evident in my typing this right now), but not the windows 2000.
It is registering that the signal exists, however, it says that it is out of range and it can't connect every time I try. Which makes no sense at all because the laptop in question is sitting no more than 4 ft away from the router.....
It's driving me insane! Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem? Plus I'm not even sure if it's an issue with the computer or if it's an issue with the router itself......
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks,
    illueia
P.S. sorry if I was too rambley...... or I wasn't clear enough....

Download and install the latest driver for your wireless card...
I aaume the security on the WRT54G2 wireless router must be WPA/WPA2 and that's the reason your Laptop(win2000) does not connect to it...
What error do you get when you attempt to connect to the Wireless Network ?
If it connects to your wireless network then what IP Address do you get for your Wireless Connection ?

  • Connectivity Issue (Macs work, Windows laptop doesn't)

We recently switched out a Linksys wireless router and replaced it with a Time Capsule. There are two Macs (iMac & G5) which connect to it without any problem.
The problem is with a Dell laptop running Windows XP. We need to run a VPN client to connect to a work server. The Dell laptop connects to the Time Capsule without a problem, but after a few minutes, the connection is lost to the work server.
    Here is the error message:
    *Connectivity VPN Client*
*Unable to resolve the IP Address of the remote server. Verify the host name in the Destination field is correct.*
This was never a problem with the Linksys router. Is there a port that needs to be configured on the Time Capsule?

What happens when you try to run them? Do you get any kind of error message? Have you tried just xterm?
Is it possible you have DISPLAY set to something on the Mac side?
Currently I am using putty to connect to the mac via ssh (and have the enable X windows forwarding box checked), and I have Xming running on my laptop to display the x windows. This setup works fine for connecting to unix machines, but it doesn't work for connecting to the mac.
Does the Mac have the firewall turned on?

  • Workgroup/Samba connection issues

I've got a home network with an Ubuntu Linux PC running KDE (Kubuntu) which connects via wireless. I have a PM G4 tower that is hardwired to the wireless router which in turn connects to the cable modem.
I've been able to get SMB working from the Mac to the Ubuntu box, but the "Connecting to Server" progress window never closes, even after the shared directory mounts. I can use the server no problem, but even clicking the "X" in the progress window won't close it.
Also, I'm wondering if there is a way to get the two machines to use the same workgroup so that the Linux box's items will show under the "Network" icon in the Finder.

  • In relation to Wireless Speakers, what does 'Connected Music Server' mean?

    Hello All,
Need some advise. I am looking at purchasing a Wireless speaker. I currently have a MacBook Pro 10.8 which has my music stored in iTunes. My phone is an Android 4.2.2 device.
Therefore, I need to buy a wireless speaker that supports AirPlay (aka stream music from my MacBook Pro) and also has an app that I can install on my Android device which can threby access the iTunes playlist so that I can use my phone as the remote control.
Based on the above requirements, I narrowed down my chocie to the Denon Cocoon Home (whose app is also Deno Cocoon) and the Pioneer A4 XW-SMA4-K (whose app is Pioneer ControlApp)
    Question 1:
    The Denon App says this:
    - When connected to your home Wi-Fi network you can further expand your choice of music by using the Music Server to browse and play all the music that is stored on your PC, Mac or Network Attached Storage (NAS) drive.
    - DRM protected music is NOT supported by the Denon Cocoon app (or any 3rd party music app)
My question what does one mean by a 'connected music server?' If an AirPlay speaker receives iTunes music, does it automatically become a 'connected music server?' Technically, is music in my iTunes app (some purchased from iTunes store, some imported) considered DRM protected music? Can ithe app read the iTunes music given the above contraint?
    Question 2:
The Pioneer App has a lot of complicated lingo that says:
    Network Audio Player
    - Browse and select music files on your connected music server
    AV Receiver
    - Browse and select music files on your connected music server
    Network CD Receiver System
    - Browse and select music files on your connected music server
    Wireless Speaker
    - Volume up/down
    - Select Internet Radio Stations
    - PUSH PLAYER
It uses one app for multiple devices and in the app description has a breakdown for what the app supports for every device. Now the 'connected music server' is not mentioned in 'Wireless Speaker' but the same is mentioned in 'Network Audio Player' so what does that mean?
I am more veered towards the Pioneer speaker as it costs $100 less and has better reviews but I will go with the one that will aloow me to use my Android phone as a remote control to access the music that the speaker is streaming from my MacBook pro.

  • Connect to Server Login Name Problem

I have been troubleshooting some problems on two computers my father-in-law has.
One is an 2GHz Intel Core Duo iMac running Mac OS 10.4.11. We'll call this iMac 2G.
The second is an 800 MHz PowerPC G4 iMac running Mac OS 10.4.11. We'll call this iMac 800M.
I am attempting to file share the two computers. I can connect iMac 800M to the iMac 2G via "Connect to Server" fine. When I try to do the reverse, iMac 2G to the iMac 800M, the "Connect to Server" login window want to use the "Short Name" listed in the "Account" panel for the login name instead the full name.
Is there a way to fix this so that it will work with the full name will work in the login window?
    Thanks.
BTW - I do not know if this matters but I used the "ChangeShortName" (version 1.3) utility to fix the short name problem in the iMac 2G. Everything work fine after running the program.

Never mind, there were two login information stored in the keychain. Deleting the old one seem to correct the problem.
