Connectivity of Nokia 6288

I am having problems connecting my mobile Nokia 6288 to my laptop even having downloaded the required drivers, please advise

I have had my PC and phone connection through USB and have been advised that either my phone has a intermittent connection or that my USB (Supplied by Nokia) is defectiv
What is my recourse, I have spent a substantial amount or my personnal monies to resolve what I believe was and still is an inherent problem between my Phone.USB connector and my PC.
I have however been able to dianose that he error is not my PC and not my USB as a colleague of mine with the same phone Nokia has downloaded Photo images off my phone on to my PC
I have been a regular user of Motorola for many years and was advised after moving to Spain that I undertake a Nokia option through contract network for myself, my wife and daughter.
I am extremely dissapointed and respectfully request your advise and course of progress to resolve my ongoind dillema.
I have been attempting to download photo images off m phone now for 3 months to no avail
Please address this customer concern with the utmost of urgency as if not I shall withdraw 3 contract phones away from Vodaphone and change all our phones to an alternative choice other than Nokia.

  • Connection to a nokia 6288

    Hello,
This is not exactly a question about iSync but there are other nokia-problems here, so I give it a go:
I just bought a nokia 6288, but I can't connect it to my iMac G5 (no bluetooth) with the usb-cable , (with bluetooth to a mpb works fine).
With another phone (the nokia 5300) it works perfectly on usb.
It seems I do not have the privileges of changing the files (read-only).
I have read the posts about connecting it to iSync (the trick with the 6280), that works now, but I want to exchange .mp3 and so.
    Can anyone please help me?
Thnx, Pleesed greetings a mac member in need.
    iMac G5 + Macbook pro (C2D 2,16Ghz)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

after asking me to accept the connection to my pda my mobile simply then tells me it is disconnecting from the PDA afetr about 20 seconds with no error message on the phone. The PDA just tells me it can't connect!.
I am aware that there may be issues with my specific pda and this particular Nokia phone, but is is difficult to understand what needs to be done.
    Thanks

  • Nokia 6288 car cradle for Mercedes

    Hi,
I have just purchased a Mercedes SLK with prewiring for a fully integrated hands free mobile phone but Mercedes are not able to supply a cradle for my Nokia 6288.
Does anybody have a solution for this - can I get a cradle from Nokia and have it installed by a third party specialist car phone installer ?
Does anybody have any experience with having a phone fitted to a Mercedes by a third party installation company ?
Would be grateful for any suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hi Scoobyman,
Thanks very much for your reply.
Not sure what the UHI system is; Mercedes describe the option as prewiring with hands free facility for the phone, controllable via the multi function steering wheel. The cradles currently offered include the MB 6787 5822 that you mentioned (for Nokia 6210; 6310; 6310i); there is also a bluetooth integration cradle MB 6787 6125 (with no indication as to what phones this supports), and a Bluetooth cradle MB 6787 6128 which appears to be compatible with various listed Nokia and Siemens handsets (but not the Nokia 6288); and a further Bluetooth cradle(H.F.P) MB 6787 5877 which is compatible with some other listed Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones (but not the Nokia 6288). No idea what H.F.P means.
I have also not heard of the Visee0 MBU 1000 Bluetooth module you mention; who supplies this ? How can I check this out for compatiblity between car and my Nokia 6288 ?
Basically I am looking to connect my phone to the Mercedes supplied hands free integrated wiring system ideally by getting a suitable cradle for my Nokia which someone (i.e. a specialist carphone installation company)can fit to the car and get it all working for me !!
Mercedes seem not to have kept up with the latest phone models regarding their cradle offering; I need someone to finish the job for me.
Any further suggestions (from anybody) would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Nokia 6288 route planning software

    Hello everybody,
I am interested to find some route planning software for Nokia 6288 (Series 40 Operating System).
At least I would like to know if exists.
Because all I found were for Symbian (S60) operating system.
I search for some software that can be deployed on the memory card and can work autonomously (without internet connection, etc). Only a GPS sensor must be attached to the phone.
Does anybody knows of souch a software?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bogdan Olariu

No - the are no route planning software for Series 40 JAVA phones as far as I know. Mobile Gmaps is the best there is.
JAVA apps are limited in size, typically no bigger than 512KB - so all map data and so on needs to be pulled over GPRS. Placing map/route data into the JAVA app is thus not possible as it will never fit into 512KB.

  • Nokia 6288 doesn't retain settings after reboot

Hi, i've a problem with a Nokia 6288 that after each reboot
does not retain settings regarding "Normal" profile and background. If i turn off the phone, when i turn it back on it reverts to blank backround and "nokia tune" ringtone and all other settings to default.
I already tried to reset it to factory default but had no luck.
Also tried reflashing firmware with nokia software updater but the problem still remains.
There is a way for "hard resetting" it to factory default?
    Regards
    Luca

A nokia care point can hard reset a series 40 phone, you cannot do it yourself. They will also be able to fix your problem.

  • How to connect my nokia 6120c to my mac laptop?

how to connect my nokia 6120c to my mac laptop? i want to use my phone as my modem

    Hi,
Listed below is the step by step intructions to configure the Nokia device as a modem to a mac. If you receive any cases/questions related to this, please provide the steps mentioned below.
    Steps:
Connecting your Mac to the internet is convenient and easy with your a compatible Nokia S60 device. You'll need a Nokia S60 device that supports a 2G or 3G data connection (such as GPRS or HSDPA), a compatible Mac (with the latest OS X), a USB cable for your Nokia device or a Bluetooth-enabled Mac, and a network subscription with your mobile service provider.
To set up your device you'll need to know your operator's Access Point Name (APN) and have the packet data service enabled. For help with this please contact your operator.
-In the following example, the APN name "Airtel" is used. This name will vary depending on your operator.
-On your device locate and open the Settings application. This is normally in the Tools folder.
-In Settings select and open Connection >Select and open Packet data > Select and open Access point >Type in your operator's Access Point Name
-Exit Settings. Your device is now ready to be used as a modem for your Mac!
-Bluetooth Connection: Pairing between Mac and Device using bluetooth, follow the instruction from here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-as-a-modem
Note: Preferred mode is USB as it much faster than Bluetooth.
Connect the device and then go to System preferences- >Network- >Select Device (Nokia XXX)
Click on Advanced Tab > Modem tab
    - Vendor : Nokia
    -Model:GPRS (GSM/3G)
-Telephone Number: *99***1# (contact your operator to get this settings)
-APN: airtelgprs.com (contact your operator to get this settings)
    CID: 1
Once connected it will be highlighted in green.
    Hopefully this helps.
    Cheers
    Sandy

  • How to connect my Nokia 5230 to internet using Blu...

I would like to be able to connect my mobile (Nokia 5230) to internet without using the GPRS connection.
The only option I can see, is to connect my mobile to my PC (which has an internet connection) via bluetooth or USB and share the pc internet connection with my mobile.
    How can I do that?
I would like to use OVI store but the only option is "Send to Mobile" It seems that it is not possible to download a file on the PC and then send it to the mobile . If I coudl share my PC internet connection with my mobile I will be in a position where I could use OVI store
    I found this post at,

What you're asking is not possible. There was a piece of software called GNUBox that might have done the trick but it seems to be more or less abandoned.

  • Not able to connect with nokia music store in lumi...

Getting frustration to connect to Nokia music store in my Lumia 920.. Basically this device brought at singapoor and now am using @ India...i doesn't know the reason.. While connecting to store, itz showing unable to connect and contact Nokia service... Plz help me some one... Plz

Bad news is you may not get Nokia Music on this phone in India if you bought it from Singapore. Nokia Music is not available in all countries and is linked with the IMEI of the device thereby also to the Phone's variant...so even if it gets activated, you will not get any Local Music.

  • Nokia 6288 - white screen with battery icon

I've had problems with my Nokia 6288 since very soon after I bought it.
I turn my phone on and it just has a white screen with the battery icon. I can punch numbers into the keypad to call out, but I cannot do anything else.
Any idea how to reset the phone or anything that might help me be able to use my phone again?

does it say "phone restricted"? if it does, it is a matter of either updating to the latest firmware via Nokia Software Updater, or just take out your battery and reinsert it and turn the phone back on. i too had similar problem as to what you are describing.
