Connectivity to Cardo Scala Rider

Hi, there.
I´m having difficulty in getting my iphone to connect to my cardo scala rider (it is one of these hands-free, bluetooth connectivity devices for motorcycle riders).
Any idea how I can get it done?

Scala Rider not activating Siri on iPhone 4, 4S, or 5?  There IS a solution!
I have a Scala Rider Q2 pro and had iPhone 3GS and all worked perfectly. If I want to make a call, just make a loud noise or tap the control button the Q2, and 'Voice Control' comes on.
BUT.. when i got a 4S, the only way I could get Siri (or Voice Control if I turn Siri off) to come on was to actually push and hold the Home button the phone, which is just not feasible or safe when riding a motorcycle.
I searched high and low on the internet and found others with same problem, but no solution.  I emailed Cardo (Scala) support, and got nothing.  Then, a couple months later I decided to email them again.  A few days later I got a reply with instructions AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!
Once again, I can be driving along on the bike and say "Boo!" (or whatever loudly) to activate the control on the Q2 (or tap the Control button) and then beautiful sound of Siri (din-din) comes on and I can talk to her and ask where to go for pizza, or phone my friend, or play Frank Zappa music, or whatever.
So, here is the ELUSIVE solution the "My Scala Rider will not activate Siri or Voice Control on iPhone:
Thank you for contacting Cardo Systems Support Center regarding our products.
To resolve your connection issue you must reset the devices and create all new pairings.
Please do a soft reset of the phone by deleting the headset from the phone and turning the phone off for at least 15 seconds and taking out the battery, if possible.
Then you must reset the Q2 PRO unit.
1.  Perform FULL PAIRING RESET (not Intercom Pairing reset) to all Q2 PRO's.
2. With the Q2 PRO powered on press and hold the control button until the unit begins to flash red and blue. (Note it will look like it is turning off; keep holding the Control Button in until it comes back on, Red and Blue alternating.)
3. With the LED flashing red and blue, press and hold ONLY the volume up button for 5 seconds until the unit flashes blue (light purple) 4 to 5 times and then flashes red 3 times and turns off.
4. You have now reset your Q2 PRO.
Next you must re-pair any Bluetooth connections previously connected, starting with Q2 PRO to Q2 PRO intercom pairings.
When attempting to pair your Q2 PRO with and additional Q2 PRO you must follow these steps:
1. Make sure that both Q2 PRO's are powered on.
2.  Press and hold the control button and MC button simultaneously until the headset begins flashing red rapidly. Repeat this process on the 2nd Q2 PRO.
3. Both headsets will flash red until they are connected. After they establish a connection each headset will begin flashing blue at approximately the same time.
It is possible to connect up to two headsets to your Q2 PRO. To add a 2nd Q2 PRO to your headset repeat the intercom pairing process from the beginning.
When attempting to pair the Q2 PRO headset with a Bluetooth enabled phone the phone must support the ability to pair to Bluetooth headsets. It is necessary to place the headset into pairing mode before trying to discover it with the phone. To do this you must:
1. Make sure the Q2 PRO is powered on.
2. Press and hold the Mobile button until the headset flashes Red and Blue. . (Note it will look like it is turning off; keep holding the Control Button in until it comes back on, Red and Blue alternating.)
3. Now search for a Bluetooth enabled headset from the Phone system you are pairing the Q2 PRO with.
4. After your device finds the Q2 PRO you will be prompted to enter a passkey. The passkey for the Q2 PRO is (0000).
Please feel free to contact us if we can assist you with any other questions.

  • Cardo Scala Rider Q2 Teamset full pairing.

    Hello support,
I'm trying to pair Cardo Q2 by an iPhone 3Gs iOs4.
iPhone have inside two apps: tomtom for iPhone and iPod.
Pairing successfully the only way I can do is to send and receive callings.
I cannot listen to the iPod music and the same I cannot listen to the tomtom indications.
Before iPhone I owned a Nokia N92 and the pairing by Q2 was great, completely right.
I was listen to all three ways, send/recieve - ipod music - tomtom indications.
May you help me and show me the better way to make the same by my iPhone?
    Many thanks.

Hi like you people I was disappointed to discover that my iPhone 3GS wont stream music from the iPod to the Carla Rider Q2 head set via Bluetooth. However all was not lost I have managed to work it so that I can enjoy listening to music, albeit using the audio cables that come with the Carla Rider Q2. I was also able to use the voice activation to instruct the iPod to play. By pushing the control button on the Carla Rider Q2 once and then speak “play music” into the microphone, the iPod will then play. If any telephone calls are received whilst listening the iPod than shuts off while holding the telephone conversation and resumes when the call has ended. So in essence….it would be ideal to have full Bluetooth capability (take note Apple!!!!) but compromising with the audio cable works well.

  • Z10 problem with Scala rider q3 bluetooth headset

Hi there, I've got a Z10 and I’m trying to steam music to a Scala rider Q3 (Bluetooth motorcycle headset) but I'm having problems with it. When trying to listen to music it sounds as if the music is stuttering and sounds slowed down almost like its buffering a song.
The problem is only there between the z10 (I’ve tried 2 different z10s) and the q3. I've tried the phone with other Bluetooth devices and it works fine also the headset works with other phones.
    Any ideas??

I emailed Cardo tech support this morning and Geoff replied within about 5 minutes (very impressive). He also sent me a link so I can update to software version 1.2 (beta). I will try it this evening. Thanks for letting me know it worked for you.

  • Scala rider

I have a Scala Rider solo,it connects to my iphone 4 fine but I can't play my music MP3's it just comes out the phone but the Bluetooth is still connected and I can call out and receive calls.Any help would be appreciated.

    Really? From their website:
Is this product compatible with the A2DP profile?
No, but there are other products in the scala rider that support A2DP.
Took me a minute to get that info. If you want to listen to music from your iPhone over bluetooth, you need a headset that supports A2DP.

  • Bluetooth and Scala Rider

I use a Scala Rider by Cardo when I am on my motorcycle. I never had problems pairing it with my old phone (razr) but cannot for the life of me get it to pair with my Curve.  It sees my computer but that won't help me make calls when I'm on the road. Any help out there? Thanks in advance!

I use a Camos BlueTooth system with my helmet, and it works perfectly - plays music, pauses and answers the call, then resumes music play.

  • Carlo Scala rider Q2: problems with iPhone 3G under IPhone OS 3.O ?

    Hi,
My Carlo scala rider Q2 Headset was working fine with my iPhone 3G, until this latter was upgraded to iPhone 3.0 OS.
Since that day, the microphone of my headset is no more active and I've check it was the same with a brand-new Carlo Scala Rider headset. Is it a problem of compatibility with the new bluetooth stereo version of iPhone 3.0 software .
    Thank you for any help.
    Vincent, Paris, France

    Hi,
As all of you, i'm disappointed with the the iphone / scala combination, but let me make this clear - iphone is the "guilty" part not scala:
The Good: phone is pairing and working "ok", no voice dialing is possible
The Bad: no music or gps instructions can be heard in the headphones
However, everything was working fine with pre 3.0 versions of the iphone software
Yesterday, while on the phone with somebody, I've selected the ipod icon then hit play and ... what do you know, i was able to hear the song loud and clear in my headset, together with the guy i was talking to (he didn't hear the music, only me). Unfortunately the music stopped as soon as the call stopped. I was able to recreate the situation several times.
So what this proves is that, even with the 3.x version installed (A2DP), regardless of iphone generation (3G or 3gs), the headset can receive the bt music stream from the phone, but the phone is not sending it to the headset (only while a call is on)
Can somebody do something about this, it looks as a simple programming glitch or something?

  • Is the a way to connect a deli scale to the ipad?

Does anyone know of a way to connect a deli scale to the ipad for POS?

These guys make one, I'm sure there are others. It just needs to be Bluetooth capable and have an available app to run it.

  • Why won't my downloaded programs run?  I have downloaded Java and a Cardo Scala bluetooth updater, they downloaded, and installed but won't run or be recognized/detected by the respective websites.

I have recently downloaded an "updater" program for my Cardo Scala bluetooth helmet headset and the most recent Java update for OS X 10.6.8  Both times the download was sucessful, when the installer ran, it said it was installed successfully BUT...in both cases it doesn't appear to run.  Both respective websites don't recognize it is loaded on my MacBook Pro.  Am I missing an installation step or have a setting wrong??
    Carl

OK so here we go I installed windows again and everything seems to be working as normal so I put the disc in and I took screen shots but it won't load them for some reason but anyways here it is. These are the files and what happens when I click on them
Audio file     audio files always able to access
    Video file     same as audio
xSprocket     several worksheets and things like that
    xtras          more program files
autorun      when I click on it saws notepad is too small I need a bigger editor
    readme      system requirements
TN_active teach file     when opened on the mac side it says its a powerpc product it won't open and on the windows side it switches to mac and opens stuffit expander (the compression thing I told you about) and then creates a file with nothing in it
TN_active teach application when I open it on windows it says its not a valid win32 application and on mac side it switches to windows and says the same thing
the link you posted BobTheFisherman was very helpful except for the fact that I need to install it first but I tried anyways and the indicated files had not been made yet.
In the end though I've come to the conclusion that it is not a Parallels or mac problem but simply one of the software I'm going to look for other windows programs to test how they work though just to prove my hypothesis I thank both of you for your efforts on helping me.

  • IPhone, Garmin 2820, and Scala Rider

FWIW I tested this setup for motorcycles. The iPhone paired fine with the Garmin 2820 GPS and seemed to transfer the contacts too. I then paired the 2820 to the Scala Rider bluetooth device that fits on a motorcycle helmet. I was able to initiate a call using the 2820 and it all seemed to work fine.

    Really? From their website:
Is this product compatible with the A2DP profile?
No, but there are other products in the scala rider that support A2DP.
Took me a minute to get that info. If you want to listen to music from your iPhone over bluetooth, you need a headset that supports A2DP.

  • Cardio Scala Rider Bluetooth Issues

I have a Driod 2 and a Cardio Scala Rider, when I pair the two my Scala Rider Bluetooth headset does not ring so I do not know when I am receiving a phone call.
I have contacted Cardio Systems and the issue is not on their end according to them. Is there a software update from Verizon or Motorola that would allow me to use my Bluetooth headset?

We do not have any information if a new software will be out that can resolve this issue.
We suggest you un-pair and re-pairing the Bluetooth.
Please let us know if this helps!

  • Scala Rider FM music streaming

I've just replaced my N95 with a 16GB 3GS and I don't seem to be able to stream music from the iphone to my Scala Rider FM headset like I used to, is there a setting somewhere that I have missed???

In terms of functionality you did go backwards but it is actually because your headset is outdated. Even the newer phones from other manufacturers, which use Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (your headset is 1.2) and A2DP would have trouble with your headset. You might want to check the forum for your headset to see if there is any workaround.

  • Creative Player Connection problems? Get rid of windows Media Player

I noticed that a lot of people here are having difficulty gettings their computers to recognize the player.
A lot of people describe that when they plug in their players the player will show up as properly installed in the device manager and windows will recognize it, but it won't show up in Creative media source or any other mp3 player management software.
Also the install programs for firmware won't detect your creative player as well.
The trick is to get rid of any and all traces of windows media player .
Delete the windows media player. Delete the windows media player format in Add/Remove programs in your control panel. Make sure the checkbox the says "show updates" is checked as well in your Add/remove programs window, otherwise windows media player might not show up in your list of programs to remove.
Then once you have windows media player totally removed, reinstall windows media player 0.
Then reinstall the latest versions of your Creative software, drivers, firmware, and plug-ins.
It worked for me and it worked for a lot of other of people.
I had a Zen Xtra that I could not add music to, or remove music from, for a couple weeks until I figured it out. I couldn't even install the firmware either until I got rid of Windows Media Player .
Windows Media Player = Useless Creative Mp3 player.

    I do what I can....

  • Iphone 4S BlueTooth issue

I had one Iphone 4 connected to my scala rider and we were happy. I moved to the 4S and my new phone just can not connect to any device, even my Ipad.
    What am I doing wrong?

I just got my first call in my Prius with BLU Logic Bluetooth. My previous phone (lg lotus) read the caller's name if it was in my contacts and read the phone number if not. With the iPhone 4s all I got was my ring tone with no caller id. This caller was in my contact list on the iPhone. Is there a setting I need to change to get caller id?
