Connectivity to PROD landscape (NEO)

Hi All,
NEO is SAP's private cloud. I would like to know the connectivity option of this landscape:
1. To connect to external URLs (internet), do we need to use Cloud Connector ?
2. To connect to corporate URLs (like Gateway) ,no need to use any cloud connector unlike in FACT landscape?
Regards
Buddha

For NEO:
to connect to internal systems, you should not require SCC
to connect to internal URLs, you should not require SCC
in destination, you should be able to mentioned internet for both

    Hi Nikil,
i had seen your reply after i had resolve the issue by my own. As my administrator password got changed, i had changed SLDDSUSER password. Both adminstrator password & SLDUSUSER password should be same.
(any how iam rewarding you with points as mostly it is correct answer)

  • Connection to system landscape directory (SLD) could not be opened succesfully

    Hello SAP Gurus,
I got the follow wrong with MSS main page: ERROR: Exception condition "COMMUNICATION_ERROR" triggered (termination: RABAX_STATE)
I was checking SLD connecton between sap portal and SLD, but i show me ad "Connection to system landscape directory (SLD) could not be opened succesfully"
    User SLDDSUSER, is no lock.
    Enclose pictures.
    Best regads.

    Hi Andres,
You need to check the below things.
    1. Try to do telnet from portal server to the SLD server
       telnet svrsapnpd.minedu.gov.co 50000
I hope this will not work, if its work then you have to check the user administrator.
    2. If the SAP netweaver version is 7.0x
Open the visual admin-->select services and check the SLD Data Supplier service
    3. If SAP Netweaver is 7.1,7.3 and above
open the nwa -> goto destination and check the SLD_DataSupplier and SLD_Client

  • External monitor USB connected NOT HDMI - xperia neo

Could anybody share details of external monitor tried with usb with xperia neo?
I have seen some monitors like AOS e1649Fwu which can connect with USB.
I don't have any HDMI ported monitor.
Also I want to use USB OTG capability to connect external devices. I was able to access mouse and keyboard.
If anybody able to access other devices like pen drive etc.. please share the steps how you have achieved with xperia neo.
All these queries are for "xperia neo" only"

As I understand this requires root access.
I will therefore move this tread to the correct forum.

  • Ideas on how to restrict non-prod servers from connecting to prod sql servers

We ran into an issue this week and I’m looking for some ideas on approaches we might be able to use. While troubleshooting a P1 issue, we noticed Non-Production application servers connecting to the Production backend SQL Server using a Production account.
The matter of how they obtained the PROD password is a security issue and we are already working that endeavor separately but my question is what (if anything) are other people using to identify and more importantly restrict connections on their Production
    SQL Servers from non-production servers?
A colleague has already mentioned the possibility of creating a Classifier Function and using Resource Governor to identify hostname and if they begin with “DEV…” or “TEST…” they are not allowed in. Anyone have any other ideas???
    Thanks in advance
    Andre Porter

If hostname is your criteria then I don't see any reason why a logon trigger wouldn't work...
Beware that the hostname can be set in the connection string, so this is not safe.
Despite what Javier said, it is possible to use the IP address, as it is available in sys.dm_exec_connections and cannot be spoofed. But there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The trigger needs extra permissions as plain users does not have access
to sys.dm_exec_connections. You also need to consider local connections and possibly also connections over named pipes or VIA.
The best and robust solution is to put test and production servers in different network segments, and then prevent access between the segments.

  • Cannot re-boot after enabling K8T Neo LAN Connection

I've tried to enable the K8T Neo LAN controller in BIOS so that I can connect a Wireless Router to my PC. However, when I do this, the PC will not boot and I have to disable the LAN controller.
On booting-up the BIOS seems to be looking for an ethernet controller and a message states that either the device is not plugged in or the cable is faulty ! Why should enabling the onboard LAN controller affect the device the BIOS boots from ?
Can I plug a Wireless Router directly into the RJ45 LAN connection on the K8T Neo and if so, how ?
    Thankyou for any helpful advice

Check to make sure you are not set to boot from network. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact name or where it is located, but it may help.

as you say: a WIRELESS router is WIRELESS, how could you plugin a cable from a wireles router. or does it also have rj45 conectors?
if you want to use the wirreles function, you will need to buy a wirrles lan adapter (usb) for your pc
I have never seen a wireless router without rj45 connectors. (WAP yes, router no).

  • Can you create multiple connections in smartview? for PROD and DEV?

    Hi,
We have a production and development hyperion planning. In Smartview, we have successfully connected to PROD but can we create another connection to DEV?
or do we keep replacing the URL?
    thanks

I think from 11.1.2.2 onwards the ability to add servers in Shared Connection is removed and an enhancement is filed to have that ability.
You can use private connection to connect to different instances
    http://DEV:19000/aps/APS for Essbase
    http://DEV:19000/HyperionPlanning/SmartView HyperionPlanning
If you are on 11.1.2.3 you can create an XML file and use that as your Shared Connection

    Goodmorning to all,
In my case I use the b1isn 2007, installed the 64bit tech.
How can I determine which java to use ?  The installation provided 2 instances of the jdk ( 32bit en 64bit ) ( version 5.22)  ( in the SAP Integration folder ).  The properties of the DI proxy ( by default ) point to the 32 version. When I change that to the 64bit, then the service faults right away  after relaunching ( message of windows that the service could not be started )
The jres ( and jdks ) that you can donwload from sun don't ( in the jre/bin folder ) contain a map 'server' with the jvm.dll in.  Checking the properties of the dll you can see that the author is SAP so it's no suprise that it doesn't come with the sun download.
Just to be sure, I installed the latest versions of java ( both 32 bit en 64bit ), but the problem is not resolved.
Does anybody know of a formal description on which settings to make in which file to point to the correct java.
    Kind regards.

  • Easy way to connect to dev vs prod design center?

    Hi all,
I have a dev design center and a prod design center. Is there an easy way to set up 2 different shortcuts for easier logging in? That is, I would like a shortcut to connect to prod and a seperate shortcut to connect to dev. Is this possible?
I tried searching the forums for suggestions, but didn't find anything.
    Thanks,
    Sammi

You will have only one OWB design centre client on your PC, to define whether it is prod, dev or UAT you have locations configured.
The enviroment is controlled from locations and not through different instances, it is something very similar to oracle sqplus or toad
you wont have different instances of sqlplus ot toad for dev and prod, everything is controlled from tnsnames and locations is similar to tnsnames. hope this is clear.

  • How many ESR's in your landscape

    Hi Services Repository Experts,
we have CE and ECC and PI.
    PI is our Services Repository.
Question, in our landscape, if we have
Development Line  (for CE, ECC, PI etc)
Quality Line  (for CE, ECC, PI etc)
Regression Line  (for CE, ECC, PI etc)
Production Line  (for CE, ECC, PI etc)
How many Services Repositorys is it good practice to have ?
eg, All non-Prod systems use the DEV PI as SR
    and
Prod systems use the Prod PI as SR
    or
every line, Dev, Quality, Regression, Production, every line has its own unique SR serving
only that layer of the landscape ?
Does anybody have any insight into good practices in this design.
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Petr.

    Hi Trevor,
    great academic answer thank you.
Ok, to be precise, I am talking about the Services Registry, ServicesRegistrySi  which we setup in Customer Proxies in CE.
Currently we have set this configuration up in our Development CE and connected it to the Development PI system.
    My question is,
for each layer of the landscape:
Dev CE -> ServicesRegistrySi  -> Dev PI
    Quality CE -> ServicesRegistrySi  ->
    Regression CE -> ServicesRegistrySi  ->
Production CE -> ServicesRegistrySi  -> Production PI
Are you saying for the CE Services Registry config in CE Consumer Proxies ServicesRegistrySi   do we have one PI as Services Registry for all Non-Prod Landscape all Non-Prod CE's connect to the same PI for Services Registry  and then use Prod PI as the Services Registry for Prod CE ?
Many thanks for your very detailed answer.
    Kind regards,
    Petr.

  • Regarding Connecting Multiple BI Systems to single R3 System

    Hi,
We have perform R3load based system copy of our BW Systems dev/qa/prod.
Now, we have D4D/D4T/D4P as one new BW Landscape
we have D2D/D2T/D2P as original BW Landscape
We have R8D/R8T/R1P as R3 Landscape.
Original BW Landscape is already connect to R3 in RSA1->Source Systems
Now I need to connect new BW Landscape to existing R3.
    like D4D to R8D, D4T to R8T respectively.
I made new BWREMOTE user in these new BW Systems & when I try to delete
existing Source system that came as part of system copy. It says to
    delete transfer rules,PSA etc also.
When I try creating a new source system from New BW to R3; it says
    source system already exists.
Request you to kindly advise mechanism of same so that both bw systems
can connect to single R3 without any issues.
When I say restore on new bw system; It says "Connection DI is used in
R3_R8T10 Sourcesystem as a connection BW_D2T100 to BW". Delete this.
So, basically if I restore source system in D4T, It impacts existing
    source system in D2T.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay,
Instead of deleting exising source system, try to change logical systems and run BDLS job. It will fix problem.

  • Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters [Database Vendor Code: 1005]

We have a report that has been in production for some time and ran successfully with no trouble.  However, it now keeps failing with this error and the log on parameters are correct.  The whole error is:
    Error in
File / usr/local/bobje/data/procSched/mrspas051.reportjobserver/~ tmp2f0ea56e4c88a08d6.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters, Details: [Database Vendor Code: 1005].
Can you tell us why a report suddenly fails with this error?  Thank you.

We've been having the same issue with scheduled Crystal reports (in BO 3.1).  After much testing, we found that even though reports are set to use the custom database logon credentials, if the name of the original data source changes, it causes the error (Error in File ~tmp1d06ed702daa30.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 1005 ] ).  For example, I publish a report to a production environment.  It has an original data source called "test".  I set it to use the custom database logon.  A user then creates a recurring schedule and it runs successfully.  A developer opens the report in Crystal 2008 and changes the connection to something else, for ex "dev" (in Crystal, this is on the Database menu, select "Set Datasource Location" and pick a different option under My Connections or create a new one), then saves the report to BO.  We promote the report to prod and it overwrites the existing file.  We make sure it's still set to use the custom database connection to prod but the recurring schedules that were set up when the original data source was called "test" immediately begin to fail.  I tried working with support but they didn't really help much.  They had me install the Oracle 11G client on our servers since we were connecting to our 11G repository with the 10G client but that did nothing.  They finally claimed that since our repository database was Oracle 11G R2 (not just 11G), it wasn't supported and they wouldn't go any further.  If anyone's found a solution, I would really appreciate hearing how it was fixed.

    3 p3/p1

i want this result how do i change the above query please help
    regards
    raj

    Hi, Raj,
It looks like the query you posted is what you want, except that
    (1) it's unformatted and unreadable
    (2) it doesn't have the prod column
    (3) it starts with a given row, rather than with every row.
    To fix that:
    (1) add some whitespace, as in the query you copied to get your query
    (2) use CONNECT_BY_ROOT prod
    (3) lose the START WITH clause
If you get stuck, do at least step (1), and post a specific question.
Use tags beforee and after formatted sections of your message, including the query.

  • Operations on Users in Prod portal from QA Portal

    Hi All,
We are planning to develop a User Management tool which will be running from QA Portal.
For this we are planning to develop a WD Java application from which admin can create. modify users, lock and unlock group of users, add roles or modify roles.
But client wants to run this application from QA portal and he should be able to do above operations in Dev and Prod portals also.
Is this scenario possible? If yes, please tell me how to implement this.
    Regards,
    Satish

    Dear Satish,
I think as per your requirement, you can only do if you are not using UME database for user. Suppose you UME datasource using LDAP or ABAP etc.
Then you may connect same LDAP from dev, qa or prod and. COnnect to LDAP server from UME Datasource form QA and Prod. then you can do from QA  UME activites and it will also refelect to Prod because changes will done in LDAP server which is connected to Prod.
    Hope it will helps.
    Best Regards
