Connexion d'un microphone USB
Bonjour,

Hello,
I'm trying Premiere Elements 9 (trial version) and I would like to add a voice comment to a sequence of film. I try to change it in Preferences, Audio, Equipment by default ... but I don t have the ability to change anything.
Is this problem related to the evaluation version? Or is it related to another problem.
Thank you for your help.

My reply:
Are you using a USB microphone?? Unfortunately, USB microphones often do not work with Premiere Elements.
If this is not the case, can you please be more specific about what you are doing and what is not happening?
Bonjour,

TS1521 Garageband not detecting my microphone/usb audio interface
Hello all.
This is what i have here: an old but barely used Tascam US-122L USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface with a Tascam LD-74 phantom mic, which both of them work. The problem is garageband is not detecting them. My interface is plugged into the usb port is telling me my mic is picking up sound.
But when i go to system preferences, then sound, input, it only has Internal microphone and Line in with the type being microphone port and audio line-in port respectively. The input volume for the Line in is in the middle but is showing no signs of sound being picked up.
When i go to garageband, preferences, Audio/MIDI, it only gives me for microphone built-in mic and built-in input. Of course on the track info pane where you select mono 1 built-in input, mono 2 built-in input, Stereo 1/2 built-in input, there is no sign of my mic or interface. I've searched this question over and over and still can't find the answer. Help please.I tried that once and the mac told me that they weren't recognized, couldn't be unzipped or whatever. But I just downloaded the most recent driver and it worked.

Microphone; USB or mic?
I have a Mac Mini with Yosemite. I want to attach a microphone for recording podcasts, dictation, phone calls, etc. I currently use all 4 UBB ports so I would like to use the mic port to attach the microphone. But I want to know what if any functionality I will lose. What is the best method to attach a microphone?
You can use a mic and earphone combo via the speaker jack

Blue Yeti USB microphone not working in ALSA/PulseAudio
Hi all,
I recently bought a Blue Yeti USB microphone. It is supposed to require no drivers for Windows and OS X, and so far, it works well under Windows, but I cannot seem to get it to function on Arch Linux. As fair warning, although I am relatively experienced with Linux, I don't know much about the internals of ALSA/PA --- up until now, it has just "always worked", so this is my first real foray into the area. I've tried for many days, with no success, to get this thing working.
So, let's start off first with my configuration.
I have a few audio devices:
An on-board audio solution that I don't typically use. For testing, I have connected an old, crappy pair of headphones, but normally I keep this disabled. It has one capture device. (Analog stereo [or 5.1/7.1/etc] duplex)
An external DAC that is connected via USB and is output-only. So, no capture devices on that. (Digital/IEC958 output)
The Blue Yeti itself, which is connected via USB and supports output (it has an internal DAC) as well as input. So, one capture device here. (Digital stereo output and analog stereo input???)
The HDMI-out stuff for nvidia, which I never use
Here is the output of "arecord -l":

I don't remember where the bulk of that came from; maybe it was installed like that or maybe I put it in there. Here is another useful command showing non-commented-out/non-blank lines in the pulseaudio conf:

Honestly, I think that's about all of the configuration info I can give. Here are some screenshots of pavucontrol, though, in case you are not yet sated: http://imgur.com/a/ngyLl
Now, on to the debugging stuff. First: everything except Blue Yeti recording works. The external DAC works, the on-board audio (both input and output) work, using the DAC in the Blue Yeti to play music/monitor the microphone works (so it works as an output). The only thing that doesn't work is actual recording from the Blue Yeti itself.
When I try to record from the Blue Yeti with parecord -v, I get very strange behavior. Essentially, the "latency" of the microphone measured is exactly the same as the time it has been recording. That is, if it has been recording for 5 sec, then the latency is 5000000 usec. Also, if I try to record something in Audacity, I get no result except for a message box that says "Latency Correction has caused the recorded audio to be hidden before zero. Audacity has brought it back to start at zero." Also, pavucontrol doesn't show an input volume bar for the Blue Yeti, as in the above screenshots, whereas it normally will for microphones that are getting input. The Yeti is not muted, either, so it should be picking up ambient fan noise and such.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there some configuration error I've made? Typically, this sort of stuff simply works out of the box for me, so I am somewhat stuck on what to do. Could it be a driver-level bug?I'm not sure what you mean by "mixed with audio in Alsamixer". Can you clarify?
With that said, my problem did mysteriously fix itself after some update (presumably to alsa). Unfortunately, I noticed it in passing one day while I was changing the volume of something in pavucontrol, so I don't remember the exact update that caused it to work. But yes, my current setup does work now: I can listen to audio through my DAC and use the Yeti for recording. However, I have found that use of the Yeti crashes Google Hangouts, although it works perfectly in every other program I've tried.
As documentation, here is my current working setup (it is very similar to the above): in PulseAudio, the DAC is set to be a Digital Stereo (IEC958) output. The Yeti (called an 'Integrated Rate Matching Hub' in pavucontrol) is set to be an Analog Stereo Input. In the input devices section, I have the Yeti's volume set to around 58% (-14.31 dB), which is past the base volume a fair ways but produces decent levels for recording. The DAC's volume is set to 100% (0dB gain, the DAC takes care of the level). In alsamixer, I have the mic level for the Yeti set to 40.
Edit: This is a long-time-later edit, but let me say that when you have multiple USB audio devices, what USB hub and in what order they are connected seems to matter a great deal. If you can't get your Blue Yeti to work, try moving it to a different set of USB ports (controlled by a different controller) on your motherboard. This magically fixes the issue for me.

Windows 7 not correctly recognize USB Microphone Samson G-Track
Hello Microsoft community members!
I have some problem with my Microphone Samson G-Track. I have installed on my Computer Windows 7 SP1.
After I connect USB Microphone over USB directly to PC, Windows 7 had been recognize it but into the START -> CONTROL PANEL -> SOUND -> RECORD
Microphone recognized like "line" not like "Microphone" device.
As a result many programs does not recognize this device as a microphone even Windows 7 wrote "Microphone not connected".
Need your assistance please. The correct source of assistance with this situation is directly from

I have a several year old Crosley turntable with Audacity recording software. This worked on Vista. Downloaded latest version from Audacity for Win 7. Says to select Microphone USB audio codec. This device doesn't exist on the choices.
It says above 2 relevant and 1 correct answere available .............
I'm new here so could anyone direct me to these answeres? -
NB205-N210 Internal Microphone NOT Working
My internal microphone quit working on my NB-205-N210 after using an external headset (w/microphone) in the left side analog audio jacks, now I can't get the internal microphone to work again... All I get is "white noise" with the volume control set at maximum... Note: an external analog microphone + USB microphone still work...
What I've tried so-far:
I have tried both Realtek and Windows XP sound and audio device tools to make sure the microphone was not muted, the volume was turned up and selected + boost on (all where set correctly)...
Un-installing then re-installing the current Realtek HD sound drivers (several times), to no avail...
Dis-assembled the netbook to check the internal microphone, plus substituted an electret microphone element to check - no luck...
Checked microphone plug, plus re-soldered the microphone connector on motherboard - still no luck...
I could get by using an external microphone, but that's not convenient when traveling, or the point...
Hope someone can help...
Solved!

No Playback sound, M-Audio Mobile Pre usb
Hi, I have searched and read alot of topics here, but I can't see any related to my Audiotion Issue.
I can record in Audition and I see the peak of my recording etc.
But when I hit play button to hear what I have recorded, No sound at all.
I use winxp, M-Audio Mobile pre USB soundcard.
I hear music when I try with media player etc, but not in Audition.
Any ideas?I couldn’t record with Audition 3.0. I recorded using Audacity which came with the turntable. I saved the tracks as WAV. I updated my sound card software and now in Edit > Audio Hardware Setup I have Creative ASIO as an Audio Driver choice. I use that in Edit and now I can edit the tracks recorded in Audacity. I still can’t record or hear my LPs in Audition. So, I left Multi-Track and Surround Encoder with Audition 3.0 Windows Sound. The turntable is listed as Speakers (USB Audio Codec) 1 & 2. When I change Edit from Creative ASIO to Audition 3.0 Windows Sound the Default Input is Microphone (USB Audio Codec) and the Default Output is Speakers (USB Audio Codec). Using Audition 3.0 Windows Sound I can’t see or hear the LP music. When I change the Edit setting to Creative ASIO I can hear the music that I have recorded using Audacity. How do I fix it so that I can record in Audition? I have Audition 3.0. Is there an update for Audition?

Z30: 4 microphones: for what apps?
the informations given by Blackberry puts forward the number of microphones in Z30 ( 4 microphones), and the advertisements of Blackberry say that it is to improve the quality of phone conversations and also those of BBM-video. I thus ask: do capacities also serve to obtain good sound recordings in the video when Z30 films with the back camera? What notice the owners of the Z30? The sound of the filmed videos are they in stereo? And what, during the recording with the vocal recorder of the memo? Can Z30 be a good recorder of sounds? What audio formats are obtained?
I shall like that Blackberry communicates technical information on this subject.
What are the possibilities of connecting a stereo microphone (example: Audio technica pro 24 jack stéréo 3,5)
to Z30?
What are the possibilities of connecting a compatible microphone USB Mac / PC (example: AKG perception 120 USB)?
Anybody of the forum or Blackberry is interested in that?
Thank you!

http://audioblog.arteradio.com/les-steaks-memoire/frontUser.do?method=getHomePageIt is my understanding that when you use the Z30 to film video you will get the benefits of the multiple microphones.
As for the other questions I don't know as I don't have a Z30. My guess is that the mic jack still only supports one microphone for phone communications.

MacBook Air: automatic selection of USB headsets for sound output
Is there a way to let the MacBook Air automatically detect an external USB headset,
and switch from internal speakers to the USB headset, and reverse to speakers when the
USB headset is disconnected ?
It's nice that you can manually select the output in System Preferences / Sound,
but it would be nice also to be able to make the computer use the USB headset
whenever it's plugged in.
Same for the microphone (sound input selection, for USB headsets with a microphone).USB hub works fine on my 23 Cinema display with the Air, haven't tried the others but I use the USB on display to plug in my mobile broadband ( live out in the sticks and don't get cable or DSL ) and it lets me switch between my Air and MB Pro fine.

My copy of Photoshop still does not work properly, and support refuses to help me.
From my previous thread:
I can't actually get photoshop to go into the image editor. The program launches just fine, I can open up any dialogs such as preferences, but when I try to open something or start a new file, nothing happens. No error message either. If I click File -> New, I get the dialog to choose the dimensions, and then if I press OK, nothing happens. Same goes for opening something, if I press File -> Open (or anything similar, such as opening a recent file), I get the dialog to choose a file, and then nothing happens. I can only get it to work on the first launch after a system restart, if I close it and reopen it, there is a chance that it will break and I will have to restart my computer. I have attempted the following to fix it:
-Clear settings
-Reinstall
-Start new administrator profile
None of the above has worked, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
This has been going on since I've purchased it. I have tried many things, including uninstalling every program installed before photoshop (anything that could have possibly caused it to break). This problem even survived a hard drive reformatting, as I had the same issue on my previous OS. It works fine on my macbook, but my Windows 8 computer is the one I prefer to use, and that is the one photoshop doesn't work on. I have called support multiple times, and they kept telling me that they would escalate my problem, but they never actually tried anything new, and eventually they stopped responding to me. I am now on my own from support's help, as they have outright refused to help me. I posted a thread on the photoshop subreddit, and they told me to post here, which shortly after posting it was ignored. I cannot believe that this level of refusing to help can even exist in such a large company, and I'm seriously considering demanding a refund for my entire subscription as this is disregarding a major issue (which I apperently am not the only one, and the others are also being ignored by support). So, as a final attempt of actually fixing this, could someone please see if they know what to do?Welp, here's the dxdiag.

I have no sound when playing Flash videos on any Windows 7 PCs from the following standard websites - YouTube, CNN, CSPAN and ESPN. Some YouTube videos provide both video and audio if I enable HTML5. Most do not. CSPAN Videos provide video but no audio. CNN Videos provide video but no audio. I have no problems on any Windows XP PCs.
I have had no sound in Firefox since Firefox 12 with Flash Player 11.3 and higher. I upgraded today to 11.4.402.287 Flash to see if that would fix things. It did not.
I only get sound if I disable Flash Protected Mode which is unacceptable in my corporate environment. I can not downgrade to Flash 11.2 because it too does not provide protected mode. My audio drivers are up to date. I tried changing the audio playback to 16-bit 44100. I have disabled Silverlight. I have disabled all plugins except Flash. All test sites show the Flash version as installed and correct.
Nothing I try among all the recommended solutions I have found on Forums.Adobe or elsewhere on the Internet resolves the problem.
As of today, I am running:
Windows 7
Firefox 16
Flash 11.4.402.287
I will provide whatever debugging information I need to to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. My Windows XP customers are being upgraded to Windows 7 over the next few months and I need to resolve this issue asap. Any help from Adobe staff will be greatly appreciated.
Please let me know what I can do to resolve this problem without disabling protected mode or back-revving to Flash 11.2.
Thank you.LBTLBT does sound different from my problem. Thought I could help...
Jeromie, thanks for your attentiveness. I wish more of Adobe's support structure (especially for their professional software) was more helpful/prompt/polite.

IMac crashes when opening jpegs
Im working on a project in InDesign CS6 (Adobe). I've exported a few jpegs via that software. When finder tries showing me a preview of the jpeg or if I try to open it in any way my iMac crashes and restarts. It's driving me nuts. I've tried resetting permissions, using time machine, and removing some anti virus software I was using. Nothing has helped. However, I am able to open the jpegs on my macbook air. I'm getting to do clean reinstall however that scares the **** out of me. Please help Here's the crash report.

Multiple channels appear on Windows 7?
SOUND BLASTER X-Fi PLATINUM FATALTY CHAMPION SERIES here. I've installed Windows 7, then installed the Drivers from the genuine CD, then updated through CREATIVE SOFTWARE AUTOUPDATE. After that, I launched the console and everything works perfectly except for one thing:
On the recording selection panel (the menu at the console, where you select if you want to record "What you hear" or "Wave", or "Microphone",...) I don't have the same that I always used to have on Windows XP, in other words: now lot of "Microphone" channels appear, but I don't have "Wave" anymore. I do have "What you hear".. but there's a mess with lot of "Microphone" channels instead of the old "Wave" and "Microphone 2" channels I used to have.
Some of those are "Microphone (Creative X-Fi)" and others are "Microphone (USB Device)" or "Microphone (High Definition Device)" but I do not have an USB soundcard at all. In fact, I do have exactly the same hardware config. that I had on my times with Windows XP (where everything was working perfectly).
I've uploaded a picture of that panel as an example: http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/928/examplen.pngHello mccartjt,
If my understanding is right, you can use the account to get the right profile, and the other use the VPN to connect to the Windows 7 and can’t get the right profile.
Does this issue only occur on this account when use VPN connection?
Please check if only the outlook configuration is changed or all profile is changed.
Please open the event viewer and check if there are any related error log. For more information about the event log, please refer to the following article.

Additionally, we could run the command logman -start profiletrace -p {eb7428f5-ab1f-4322-a4cc-1f1a9b2c5e98} 255 3 –ets to start log.
And the command logman -stop profiletrace –ets to stop the log.
The .etl log file will exists in the %WINDIR%\System32 folder. Please upload it to OneDrive and share it with us.
