Connot connect to 3.4 client since ARD 3.7 update

Since ARD 3.7 update, I cannot connect to 3.4 client.
The 3.4 client is a MacOS X 10.5.8. I can see the client in the list but the status is «no username or password». And I cannot connect.
I have not seen any ARD client update for MacOS X 10.5.8.

10.5.8 is no longer supported by Apple, so there will be no more forthcoming updates for that version of OS X. I'm in the same boat with my 10.8.5 clients. After installing the latest round of updates, ARD client 3.6.2 to 3.7, I too can no longer access my 10.8.5 desktops from my 10.7.5 server, running ARD 3.7.
Disabling the firewall fixes the problem, but I cannot run with the firewall disabled as I am on an open network.

  • Cannot connect to any IM clients since updating to snow leopard.

    Hey Guys
I'm having a problem with my IM clients since updating to 10.6. I use Adium primarily and have Microsoft messenger through Office 2008 installed. Every time I try and connect to the servers I get a message in Adium telling me it has a connection error and Microsoft Messenger tells me I am not connected to the internet. I have tried other clients such as Pidgin and have the same issues and my MSN still works on my windows desktop. I am absolutely stuck with what to do. Adium support says that as it doesnt work on Microsoft messenger its nothing to do with them and its a issue on my side :S.
    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for responding guys. I looked to see if their was a firewall option somewhere I could disable or make a exemption for but came up with nothing. Today I reinstalled snow leopard again and every thing seems ok now. I really am not sure what the problem was.
Thanks for your help anyway. this could help others in a similar situation.

  • HT4623 Why my iPhone doesn't connect with my wi-fi since the iOS 7 update?

My phone no longer connects to wi fi since I upgraded to ios7.  It tells me it has updates but can only update it using wi-fi.  How can I do this if it will no longer connect to my home wi-fi or any other. Our iPad is fine.  Its just my phone.  Tried several of the suggestions that were posted on line and it still isn't connecting.
    Thanks

  • Ethernet Connection Slow to Wake Up Since 10.6.5 Update

My iMac10,1 (late 2009) is connected to the internet via ethernet using a Netgear WR614v7 and since upgrading to OS X 10.6.5 last Wednesday waking from sleep and connecting to the internet has become an issue. Not always, but often it won't connect. Eventually, after 2 or 3 minutes it seems to sort itself out and connects.
If I connect via wifi I have no problems, although I'd prefer to use a wired connection.
I used the combo to update and took the normal precautions of checking the drive beforehand and fixing permissions, etc. I've done an SMC and PRAM reset.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any knowledge gratefully received.

My mini is DEFINITELY having internet connect issues since upgrading to 10.6.5. Always used wifi for convenience of no cable. However wifi gradually degrades or won't connect to the point it's unusable. I know it's not my wifi router because a Windows 7 laptop connecting the same way is smoking (as painful as that is to admit). I've gone hard wired for now because it's the only way I can use the mini and be productive until I find a resolution. However, even hard wired, it takes a few minutes when I wake after the machine has been in sleep mode before hard wired will connect. I've disabled wifi, created a new network connection where only ethernet is active. Computer sits in a 'cable disconnected' mode for 2 - 3 minutes before finally going online. Something happened in 10.6.5. I've reset PRAM, SMU, and anything else I can find to reset to no avail. Very frustrating.

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Unable to connect to Tiger (PPC) client after 3.5.1 upgrade

I am no longer able to connect to a Tiger client.  This machine is a Powerbook that is running Tiger which also means I can not upgrade to the latest client or OS due to hardware.  I am able to connect fine to Lion and (snow) leopard machines, just an issue with Tiger.  This all worked fine until my upgrade to the 3.5.1 version, and I have also since updated to Lion on the requesting machine.
Is there a version of the ARD client I can install and use on the Tiger machine that works with the 3.5.1 console?
BTW this is via the WAN and all the necessary ports are open.

apple menu, about this mac, more info, software, Applications.
this will bring up a long list of software, look for "ARDAgent" , to the right of it will be listed a version number.
alternatively you can find out by going to
    /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/
and then getting info on ARDAgent.app , look for version number

  • Windows client for ARD?

I'm looking in to how to establish a remote desktop connection from Windows to Macs with the stipulation that we not use VNC so I'm wondering if a Windows client for ARD exists.
If not, does anyone have a suggestion for doing RDC from Windows to Mac. I can already do it going from Mac to Windows using MS's client or the open source CoRD, but I'm really hitting dead-ends trying to figure out how to go the other way.

To continue what Templeton Peck said, most any VNC client will work. I personally prefer UltraVNC, and I use that to control 5 different Windows machines from my Mac. While you don't get all the advanced options like sharing clipboards, waking/shutting down, collecting reports etc... You still get full access to the remote Windows machine as you do when you connect to a Mac in ARD.

  • Viewing Leopard Clients Via ARD - Desktop Picture is locked?

Anyone notice the Leopard desktop background via ARD is always that default purple space picture, even those the real desktop pic may be something different?
I also noticed that you cant change the desktop pic of a remote Mac via ARD. It uses the file located in /System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg
What's really bad about this is the simple fact that the "space" image looks horrible via ARD and slows down the sessions too.
Try it yourself: go to a Mac and change the desktop pic manually from the console (sitting at the Mac). Then go to another Mac with ARD Admin installed and view the original Mac (client) via ARD. Weird huh?

maybe its because my g4 isn't actually connected to a monitor that a desktop picture isn't shown...its basically a headless mac just used for storage and sometimes as a node in Logic but it is totally controlled by ARD. Under tiger it was ok so maybe its just a leopard thing

  • My Satellite A25-S279 (WinXP) will not connect to the internet wirelessly since UVerse was installed

My Satellite A25-S279 (WinXP) will not connect to the internet wirelessly since UVerse was installed. (Rather, I should say
it 'connects', then immediately disconnects.) When I had regular DSL, there was no problem, but since UVerse installation,
I can connect ONLY with the ethernet cable.
Thinking it was my 'old' computer, I took it to the local computer place---they were able to connect instantly (wirelessly) AND maintain connection. Sooo...I've told this to ATT, & had 2 different techs out here, both of whom were very patient & tried EVERYTHING they could think of,  & both of whom failed to fix the problem. They maintain that it is NOT the fault of the modem/router, but is some 'miscommunication' between my laptop & the modem/router.
Is that possible? Is there a setting I need to change on the laptop? If it worked BEFORE UVerse, and if it STILL works at the Computer store, and if it works WITH the cable, why won't it connect wirelessly?
Thank you SO much for any thoughts!

It is possible. While it's not common, sometimes you could have a working router and a working wireless card in a laptop, but they just don't communicate. It sounds like that might be the problem unfortunately.
