Consider"Interest earned during credit period" during "Weiging and Ranking"
Dear SRM Experts,
In "Weighting and Ranking", for the comparison of bids,
suppose if we have to consider the interest gained during the credit period given by the supplier, could there be any solution?
Example:
If the supplier1 has quoted 100600 INR with u201C15 days credit as payment terms", then effective price would be 100393.29
If the supplier2 has quoted 100700 INR with "30 days credit as payment terms", then effective price would be 100286.16
Calculation Details:
Assumed Bank Interest, which purchaser's company would gain by the deiayed payment due to credit period offered by the supplier is 5%
Supplier1
Quoted Price 100,600.00
Credit Period in Payment Terms 15.00
Interest earned per day 13.78
Interest earned in Credit Period 206.71
Effective Price Considering the Interest 100,393.29
Supplier2
Quoted Price 100,700.00
Credit Period in Payment Terms 30.00
Interest earned per day 13.79
Interest earned in Credit Period 413.84
Effective Price Considering the Interest 100,286.16
Conclusion: Supplier2 is better though he has quoted more!
With Thanks and Regards,
Ganapathi
But for a commercial point of view,
1. Calculation of Interest gained during credit period
- the credit period offered by the supplier and
- the subsequent calculation of bank interest gained during credit period,
- then to arrive at effective price, by deducting the gained interest...
(If the supplier is asking Advance, we have to add the interest lost in the replenishment lead time)
seems to be very important. Believe that is why most of the people negotiate for higher credit period with suppliers...
2. Conversion to Local Currency
3. Consideration of Import Freight Cost (or Local Freight, if local supplier)
4. Calculation of Custom Clearing Charge
5. Calculation of Local Freight charge (after custom Clearing)
6. Calculation of Bank Charges for doing payment to suppliers
7. Calculation of Non-Deductible portion of Duty/Taxes
I am an MM consultant, new to SRM... The above were the calculations which we used to practice for arriving at FINAL EFFECTIVE PRICE (in Excel out side SAP), when I was in domain, while preparing Quote comparison Statement.
Particularly, when
(1) some suppliers are international, some are local,
(2) The Credit period offered by various suppliers are different.
Rest of the points seems affordable except for the first point... request comments on first point...

During PGI - Error - Posting only possible in periods 2006/12 and 2006/11
Hi,
I am a new to SAP.
I am testing creating sales order. While posting Goods Issue, I am getting error " Posting only possible in periods 2006/12 and 2006/11 in company code 1000"
I searched and got solutions in SDN- Forum as well as SAP best practice buidling blocks and tried but still the same error is appearing.
I tried the following:
1) Transaction code - OMSY - The details for company code 1000 is:
Year-Period-Fin Year - Period-Fin Year-LM
2006-12 -2006 - 11 -2005 -12
I modify this to Year to 2011- Period to 1-other fields not possible to modify and save, but the changes does not reflect when we open this screen again. It displsys old date.
2) Then I tried Transaction code - MMPV -
I enter the follwoing details
From Company code -1000
To Comnpany code -1000
Period
Year - I tried to enter from 01/2005 to 12/2010 and click execute, i am getting error mesasage that these are not current year.
If i enter 01/2011, it is going to next log page but with errror message that 01/2011 is not current year and 12/2006 is current year.
3) Then I tried - SPRO - Financial Accounting (NEW) ® Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) ® Ledgers ® Fiscal Year and Posting Periods ® Posting Periods ® Open and Close Posting Periods
and entered the follwing data and save.

KasiDear Kasi
its not a problem if you are working on IDES.
Enter T code SE16N.
Enter table name MARV. Press enter.
Enter your company code in the required field. Press enter.
Enter &SAP_EDIT in the place where you entered the T code. Press enter. Now it is in edit mode.
Execute (click on Clock icon). A new screen appears.
Enter The Current Year: Current Month: Year of the previous Month: Previous month: Last year: Last month of the calendar year. As asked in the screen.
Press enter. Save and come outside.
Please do remember all the time period should be as per your system calendar.
Also do remember this is only workable when you are using IDES for education purpose only. Because skipping so many periods in between can cause problems when you are on real time scenario. Using MMPV is the standard procedure where you close the periods one by one.
Try it.
Update forum.

No Audio during Log and Capture
Hello, I have FCP 6.0 and am unable to hear my audio during log and capture. I have this problem on all 5 G5 Macs that I have, and have tried different editing docks and cables. I have used FCP for more than 5 years and have never had this problem. iMovie has audio during capture, so I am convinced that there is a pre-set in FCP that I don't have checked properly, but I've been over them many times and still have no answer. I searched past forums and didn't really find anything helpful to me.
My pre-sets are set to DV NTSC 48kHz and the playback pre-sets are set to default. I can hear audio of my clips after I log and capture, but I still need to hear audio during importing. I'm more confused than anything. If anybody has had this problem before or any suggestions for me, I'm all ears.
Thanks.
John... as Bogie says.
However... this is a non-feature that dates back to slower CPU days... yet, still with all the different formats and such I (ME!!) I believe it's still good practice to leave it off.
Devoting as much CPU work to the capture process lessens the chance for something to go wrong. You can easily monitor the audio directly out of the deck as needed.
Sure -- octo cores need 30 apps open just to get your money's worth and I'm sure you won't have any issues using an 8th of one to send audio thru itself while the other 7 and 7/8ths are used for capture... but who wants to risk it?
Not me... I'm to old to change my ways.
Blast you FCP v1.2.5 on a beige G3 with 7gig and 15gig hard drive -- you taught me well.

Audio lag from Canon XHA1 speaker during log and capture
Hey All,
I'm working with a Canon XHA1. I'm logging and capturing video shot in HDV (1920 by 1080) @ 60i, . I can see the video on screen but the audio playing back from the camera is about half a second behind what I'm seeing on screen.
My video monitor on the camera sincs up fine with the audio during this process AND my final capture is fine. It's just hard to work with this audio delay during the log and capture.
Is this a settings issue? I don't think I can monitor sound through the computer during log and capture, right?
Here are my settings:
Sequence preset:
HDV - 1080i60
Capture preset: HDV
Device control preset:
HDV Firewire Basic
Video Playback: None
Audio Playback: Default
Any suggestions?
AND can anybody tell me what Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 means?
PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.5)Oh, and I neglected to mention I'm using a MacBook Pro running 10.4.10 and I'm running FCP 5.1.4
Thanks in advance. -
Zen Micro Freezes during play and sometimes won't turn on at
I have been having some issues with my micro and wondered if anyone could help. I didn't drop it or do anything I can recall to cause these issues, it just seemed to start out of the blue. 2 things are happening. Sometimes it will freeze during play and "buzz" (it's really just transmitting a countinuous sound of a millisecond of what it was playing like if the guy was saying apple, and it freezes when he starts to say it it will sound like "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" but in a completely illegible buzz way). Second, it will sometimes not turn on at all, no creative logo, no lights, no nothing. Once I take out the battery and replace it, it will always then start no problem. The battery does not seem to be loose at all as the above mentioned buzzin will not stop until I remove the battery, and as I have repeatedly removed the back of the micro during these buzz session?the battery remains firmly seated and the buzzing continues until I remove it. So far I have updated the firmware to 2.2.02 (which I believe reformatted) which didn't stop it from freezing up during play, and just now did a disk clean up (which I can't imagine will have any change?if a complete format didn't). I haven't had the start up problem since the firmware update, but I haven't turned it on and off that many times yet. Any ideas? Sorry to be so verbose but I wanted to explain as best as I could what's wrong, and what I've done so far.
Remove SIM and miniSD card first. Try to boot.
The try hooking it up to the PC again. And see if you might be able to redo the update process.
You can also try a hard reset. As described in a different tread. (Or read below).
Othervise, I afraid you will have to take it to a Service Center.
-- Quote from djassa1 (Re: N80 won't start up!)--
Just reset to factory default.
You will need your 2 hands to do that: While the phone is off press and hold the [Green call Button] + [3 digit button] + [* button] and power on and hold the powwer button. Do that until the phone asks you for the local city reference.

I Just bought a second hand iPhone 4S I am having issues with the hearing during incoming and outgoing calls, I have turned the volume up and checked my settings but I still have trouble hearing the other person speak. It works if it's on speaker or if I have headphones plugged in. I need help desperately!!!!! Any suggestions on what to do???
Hey Itsanaasaunders,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues hearing sound while on a call (receiver wise, not speakerphone). The following resource provides troubleshooting steps for this symptom:
If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound quality is poor on iPhone - Apple Support
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203800
Clear the receiver
The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty. Here's where the receiver is:
Follow these steps, testing after each:
- Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver, such as a case or film.
If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
- Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
- While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location.
Restart and update
1. Restart your iPhone and test again.
2. If there's still no sound or poor sound quality, update to the latest version of iOS.
Get more help
If you've tried these steps and there's still no sound or poor sound quality from your iPhone, contact Apple Support.
Thanks,

My New Retina MacBook Pro crashes during installation and cannot turn back on?
My New Retina Display MacBook Pro suddenly just crash all of a sudden during installation, it happened when in a white background ther is a Lion image at the center and a progress bar at the bottom. The MacBook cannot be turned back on after this crash!!!! Does anyone has the same problem?
P.S. I had connected to a power cable during installation and didn't touch it at all during installation.Similar problem here. Using the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display, happily for a week. Tonight it suddenly died, turned itself off, that is. I couldn't turn it back on now.... Very frustrating. Any solution except for bringing it back to the Apple store?

IDVD ejects disk during multiplexing and burning
Having burnt many DVDs previously, I have suddenly started struggling.
Having edited in FCE HD v3.5.1, I export to Quicktime and then build the dvd as normal in iDVD.
The project has no errors and then I burn it using Verbatim 16x certified 4.7GB/120 min Advanced AZO+ DVD-R disks.
During Multiplexing and burning (with between 1 and 3 mins left, it ejects the disk saying saying done but nothing is burnt.
To try to remedy this, I have set the burn speed to both 2x and 1x. I have also turned the computer off, removed all cables and battery, held down the power button for 10secs then rebuilt and retried. Still nothing.
I saved a disk image but I don't know how to then make that into a burnt dvd. Any advice on that would be appreciated but moreover, I'm sure I shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops to burn a dvd - Mac's should just work shouldn't they.....?!Here's even more of an update, with no joy....
to refresh, I have a macbook pro 15" - the older one with the silver keys.
I make 3 min movies in FCE then export using quick time conversion and try to burn with iDVD.
The problem: I can burn data CDs but i can't burn a DVD anymore. This seemed to start after the update to 10.5.7. At that point I tried to fix it with no joy so due to deadlines, used another machine! Now a few months later, i come back to it and still no joy.
I have reset the PRAM
I have reset the CMR
I have upgraded to Snow Leopard
I have sprayed compressed air into the drive
I have reduced the burn speed to 1x
But still I can't burn a dvd. When iDVD goes through the stages, everything is OK until it gets to multiplexing and burning, it says it is 'writing lead in' and has 1 min left (or 2 mins when burning at 1x). Then the blue status line suddenly goes all along and the machine spits the dvd out saying done. (although iDVD does not revert to beginning of the process, it kind of freezes).
idvd version 7.04 if I hadn't said before.
Please help, I'm despairing.... -
My Lumia Icon goes dark during calls and I cannot access the phone pad to unless I hit the power button. Because of this it makes it tough to put my phone on speaker or type in my v-mail password.
I've been trying to find a common denominator. It happens inconsistently. It never happened before the Denim update. When it does occur, the screen goes black immediately upon answering the call and doesn't come back until the call is ended by the calling party.
I thought it might be the proximity sensor, but when it's working normally I can see the screen go dark when it's at my ear and comes back when I take it away (tried it multiple times). I had Gestures Beta installed. I wondered if that could have an affect so I uninstalled it, but that didn't make any difference. I'm still stumped by the inconsistency. I haven't reset my phone as I didn't really want to go through that... -
