Consideration of stock of discontinued FG or trading material during MRP Run

There is an functionality of follow up material for component. I would like to know if there is any similar option available for finished goods or trading materials.
I am doing procurement planning for externally procured Trading materials. Now my previous material A is being replaced by material B. Therefore all the planned independent requirement is available in system only for B. But still there is some stock available for material A. How can it be considered during MRP run for material B.
Example,
Material A:
On Hand Stock = 100
Planned Independent Req. = 0
Material B:
On Hand Stock = 300
Planned Independent Req. = 1000
In this case if we run MRP for material B, how we ask system to plan Purchase Requisitions for 600 instead of 700 for material B, considering stock of material A.

Hello
Please refer to the following SAP note:
43636 - Discontinued parts
This note provides a detailed explanation of the system standard design of the usage of discontinued parts with material requiremenst planning and the most common questions about this issue.
The following information is provided on this note regarding the PIRs:
2. Planned independent requirements and forecast requirements are not redirected.
Explanation: Planned independent requirements after the effective-out date are not redirected but are provided with an exception message in the MRP list stating that they cannot be included in the availability check. Planned independent requirements and forecast requirements are therefore displayed in the MRP list and in the stock/requirements list. However, they do not influence planning

  • Discontinuation Material in MRP run

    Hi,
In our scenario, we are using Discontinued parts with (Discontinuation Ind - 1, Effectivity-out date - Nil) with follow-up material in MRP4 view of MM.
It is observed that whenever there is no sufficient stock exist, dependant requirement is not transferred to the follow-up material during MRP run. However is the same is happening during Material Availability check.
Is there any IMG setting for this to happen during MRP run also.
    Thanks in advance.
    Parthasarathy P

    Hi ,Parthasarathy,
if an item to be disticontinued item , the following must be true.
    1. you have to define Discont ind= 1, and followup material  in MRP VIEW,
    2. Both Discont item and followup items should have same base unit of measure.
    3. When BOM of Header Material creation, discontinuation data is maintained for the discontinued item and follow-up data is maintained for the follow-up item -in CS01.
    4. Then you have to assign some value for Discontinuation Group  in "Discontinuation Data" for your Discot item in BOM. -in CS01
    5. Then create a followup group with same value of Discont Group for yourFollowup item -in CS01.
During the MRP run the Dependent requirements of header material will be transferred to Followup item if it is not enough stock of Discont item.
Please check your Discont data has defined in BOM. The value of Discont group and follow group should be same.
please letus know for further doubts...

  • Storage location consideration during MRP Run

    Hi All,
Within a company code, i am having 2 plants namely PS12 & PS13. In plant PS12, i am  three storage locations namely 1201, 1202,1203. Similarly in plant PS13, i am having stores 1301,1302,1303.
During MRP run, i do not want to consider the stock in all the storage locations of PS12. The storage location 1203 to be exclued during MRP run. How to set this?
Your input will be appreciated very much,
    Thanks
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
Goto SPRO>Production>Planning>Define Storage Location MRP per plant, add the storage location to be ignored during MRP and select indicator '1' against it. Thereafter, all the materials created with this storage location will be defaulted with value '1' in the field 'SLoc MRP indicator'. However this can be modified later if required.
For existing materials, select indicator '1' in the field 'SLoc MRP indicator' avaialble in MRP view under the column 'Storage location MRP'. Go for a mass update for a huge list of materials.
Check this and revert for any clarifications.

  • Cheracteristic consideration during MRP run

    Dear frnds,
during implementation for one steel industry i have stuck up in problem which is
they have crm plant in which finished products are endless depending upon thickness like .023,.325
if we make material master for every thickness then it will infinite number of material master.
so we thinking for single material master group of thickness i.e for single mmr for range of thickness and during sales order creation person will mention actual thickness in text of sales order or we can make it configurable and characteristic for actual thickness so during he will mention actual thickness in characteristic value.
but problem is that during mrp run, characteristic value is not taking into consideration,
so i want some customization so that characteristic value is considered during mrp run
please help me out its very urgent
    thanks

    Hello,
are you talking about a pure ERP implementation? A good description on modelling this with APO can be found in the Best Practice for Primary Steel (see link on BPX Mining and Metal).
Usually we work with configurable material variants, as a starting point.
    Best regards,
    Stefan

  • To consider subcontract stock during mrp run

    Dear all,
while mrp run it is not considering subcontractor stock .Is there any setting in spro so that it will consider subcontractor stock into consideration.
    with regards
    cp vijaya kumar

    Dear,
Special stocks are not considered for MRP run. Subcontracting stock is a special stock(O), hence is not considered for MRP.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Block Stock consider during MRP Run and Stock availibility check

    Dear All,
I am facing the stock availibility check , Sytem consider the Defective material which is Block in same storage location ,and system not generate the Planned order .
-Blocked Material stock 100, and requirement 100 then system not generate the planned. Client need the system generate planned order 100 , Because 100 material is defective.
I have configured the system scope of availibility , Block stock check remove , but problem is not solve.
    Thanks
    Rajesh Tiwari

    Dear ,
Can you please re-check your MRP plant parametrs in OPPQ wether   you have selected blocked stock( Available Stock tab )  option by chance ?
Please de-select the same  and re-run MRP.Generally MRP does not consider block stock  in net requirement calcualtion .One more thing  , MRP does material avilablity check as per OMJJ set up ( define availbality chek ) but does not consider the same while doing net requirement calcualtion to generate PR rather it goes down to MRP plant parametrs ( oppq or oppr )
    Hope this is clear

Our problem is that during MRP run , System is not reserving the Stock Items available under the un-restricted own's stock .  Normaly such items are Inventory type Items and all such items are not procured  against a Sale-Order , rather these are procured as own's stock material .
Pl guide us , as how can we get such material reserved automatically during the MRP run .  We do not want the manual transfer of Stock from own's stock to Sale-Order stock .
We look-forward for the kind help please .

    Dear Mr KrishnamruthyDSS
    Thanks for reply .
As suggested by you , we changed the indicator value 2 . But now I face following problem . say if for the Material X the Stock qty is 10 numbers and as per the BOM of the Sale-Order Item the required quantity for Material X is 15 numbers , then it should reserve available 10 numbers and for balance 5 numbers a Planned Order must have been generated .
But in this case no Planned Order is getting generated and in MD04 against the Material X it disply an Exception "Coverage not provided in Master Plan" .
In the MD04 , the information displayed for Material X is as below :
    Date -
    MRP Element -
    MRP Element Data -
    Rec./Reqd Qty -
      Available Qty
    20.06.2008 -- Stock -
      10
    24.06.2008 -- DepReq -
    1300-100  .................... 15-  ........................ 5-
Request you to Kindly guide us , as why the planned order is not getting generated for balance qunatity and the reason for the exception .

  • HOW TO DEFINE THE LOT SIZE THAT CONSIDERS MAX STOCK AND IN FIXED LOT

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement where the client wants to procure the material in fixed lots of 125. they are using manual reorder point VB with reorder point of 100. The maximum allowed stock is 400.
When the MRP runs they want to generate a  PR that is close to 400 and also a multiple of 125. I tried to use FX and it is only generating procurement proposal for 125. When I use HB it is considering the max stock but not generating the proposal in multiples of 125. Can anyone help me out with this.
    Regards

    Hi,
I think your problem could be solved by using rounding profile but not using
    fixed lotsize.
In rounding profile you have to give threshold value and rounding value
For the threshold value 1-------  Rounding value 125
                threshold value 126------Rounding value 250
                threshold value 251-------Rounding value 375
                threshold value 376 -
    Rounding value  400

  • STOCK OF FINISHED PRODUCT BY PIR NOT CONSIDERING WHILE TAKING MRP RUN

    DEAR SAPGURUS,
I have finished product stock of 50 nos through planned independent requairement. now i am creating sales order for finished product but mrp run generate the planned order for finished product. I dont have planned order for finished product because material already have stock. what can i do please give solution.
    thanks.
    Regards
    Atul

    Hi Atul,
Please describe your problem better, it's not easy to understand...
Strategy 10 is net reqirement planning:
    - SAP considers only PIRs as requirements, SOs are not considered
    - SAP considers stock levels
    - requirements should be LSF (check in MD04)
If you input sales order SAP won't create PldOrd for it. If you have stock and you want to create more to fulfil you SO, you have to input PIR accordingly and run MRP.
Please clarify your problem...in a way that we may understand it.

  • Raw material as Traded material

    Dear All,
I am working for a client which is into manufacturing of Generators.
One of the raw material which is used to manufacture the Generators, is also sold to vendor.
For FG material, it is Make to Order scenario.
For the raw material, its Make to Stock.
Is it advisable to create a new material type HAWA and create a new material master of the same raw material  or to extend the sale view of the raw material itself.
When PGI is done without  with the same material type ROH, system is asking for a Cost object.
Pls advise me on how to map this scenario.
    Thanks.

    Dear Ajay,
    1. I have tested the scenario with the requirement Class Y40 and Req type YKE.
In the Req Class: I have maintained account assingment category M, Valuation  as A and also Settlement profile as Sale order LIne item becomes cost object.
As u said Consumption posting field is E.
Wiith the above settings I have tested the selling of Raw material directly to vendor, where in at PGI it does not asked any /cost object as i think Sale order item will b cost obect to which the consumption entry will be posted to.
Now on Settlement of the Sale order, Cost of the trading material is settled to COPA.
    This has fullfilled the requirement.
But still I have a doubt whether the above said process is correct thought it has full filled my requirement.
    2. I have used another requirement class 31: order requirement which doent have any AAC, and also consumption posting field is blank, when tried with this requirement class and req type, it has stilll asked cost object. I think the reason could be as the consumption account is a cost element.
Pls can u advise on this.
    Thanks

  • Discontinuation process of the material master for archiving

    Hi,
The material(ex:100) has the stocks in the Inventory. There is a PO  with open quantity for the material(ex:100).In such case we can not archive the material.
So we have to do the discontinuation process. Is it right! or the discontinuation process is only for the retail industry (fashion).
Please let me know discontinuation process in detail.
Once the discontination process is done ,we can archive the material.
Note:I know the Archiving process using the Transaction SARA.I want to know only about the discontinuation process.
    thanks,
    sasi

    Hi Shankar,
Did you run MRP already, so that system can transfer the remaining dependent requirements (after available for planning stock of discontinued material is set to 0) to the follow up material?

  • Acconting doc.  for move ment type-501 & trading material

    Dear cons
If we receive the material through 501 Which accounting document will hit. Also pl. give process for trading material ( hawa). which accounting will hit for HAWA material type.
    nrk

    Hi
It entirely depends on whether the material type is maintained as value update in OMS2
If the material type has a value update then follwoing accounting entries are passed during 501
    Stock acc Dr
    Clearing account Cr
The material will be valuated at Price maintained in Material master
If the material type doesnot have a value update then  accounting documnets will not be generated.

  • Conversio of trading material to assets

    hi gurus
Can u tell me the procedure of converting trading material to asset & then capitalization.
    regards
    Roc

I think you have not read my post properly.
i am not asking to create Trading materials in MM01
I am asking you to create Asset Masters so that you can issue trading materials stock against this.
And follow the process I have suggested in earlier post.
Better take help of FI Consultant for creation of Asset master.

  • Trading material -Transfer

    Dear all,
Po has been created for AAA Trading material  and GR done for a storage location 100.
AAA Trading material is transferred to another storage location 200 and GI done to make the fabrication material.
Accounting entry passed for the GI of this trading material.
After fabrication-sales order created, Outbound delivery created, Goods moved to storge location 200 and PGI done from Storage location.
Upto above process the material is treated as AAA atpresent.
Accounting doc created during PGI posted to same GL account as Trading material.
But our Customer want a different GL account as Fabrication is done on that Trading material and also moved to storage location 200.
Kindly advice whether Material to Material transfer can be done or through Split valuation the requirement can be met.
Kindly advice the process too for the above and if any other mode is there to meet the requirement.
    Regards

    HI,
Trading material means you are procuring this material from trader ,correct?
NO you got this material and this is row material for you as you have to do some process on it before sale it.
once you issue material to production, then its consume
now production department process it( means fabricate it) and create new form of material which, for that you have to create material code for material FERT type ,means FG material you have to take in stock by with help of production order ,
for that you have to create new material code with new identification ,with new valuation class ,so g/l will get change
