Considering Customer Stock for planning in factory location

Hi,
We have 2 customers which send us files with the forecast and the stock figures in their storage locations. When planning, we need to consider both together with our own stock for those articles. However, note that flows are not cross company, neither VMIs.
Stocks are only considered for planning so the idea would be to map the stocks directly in APO with IDOC Proact or a BAPI. Have you ever worked with a solution like this?
Article number are exclusive for each customer so I think that a solution could be to plan considering both stocks (at customer and in our plant) and the forecast that they send. Suggestions about creating stock in our plant which belongs to the customer?
Other alternative is creating the customer locations in APO but I am afraid that it is not fully compatible with R/3 and moreover, sales will be in our plant, and forecast in another (customer). P.e: when sales would create the Sales Orders in our plant to process the delivery, we would have double demand in our plant: from the customer purchase req and the sales order.
Could you please advice if you have worked with any similar flow? Which alternative might work better? Other suggestions?

Hi,
Since you mention the value of the parts is very cheap, I would suggest to flag these materials as Bulk and plan them via ROP (say VB) & max lot size (HB). Maintain a suitable ROP, safety stock & max stock levels.
If you want you can also think of using ROP with ext. reqmts. (make a copy of V1 to say Z1) where-in you have flagged order reservation to be considered.
Do a test in your sandbox & if it meets your need adopt the same.

My client wants to consider consignment stock ( vendor status K) also to be considered for planning purposes.
That is we need to have total stock= Available stock + consignment stock.
Is there any way that we can achieve this only for certain locations (locally)?

You can assign a custom stock category group in the location master / SNP tab. You could in theory create a custom category group which includes consignment stock (ATP Category CD) and assign it to specific locations to ensure that the consignment stock is included in the initial bucket SOH calculation.

REG: Creating customer stock for different material codes has an single set

Hi FRIENDS,
we are purchasing finished items from our vendor in numbers (Eg. Item Number 1 to 6 (all different items and having different item codes)) and selling it to our customer in a set ( 1 set contains all this 6 items and we have code for this Set). Please let me know how to create the customer stock for these items in the store as the store shows stock for 7 different items, not in a set.

as per your requriment you can have all MRP viewsfor HAWA material type.
that means you are purchasing, use HAWA for finished goods in SAP system.
if you are having different item codes seperately for each item.
take one packing material called CARTON and maintain UOM as 6 items and you can pack the same in BOM.
use PP -PHANTOM - BOM which should add all the 7 materials in & gives one single material as OUTPUT.
use 561 GMT and upload that material as a final finished goods and in MMBE you can see only one called CARTON inside it set of 6 materials will be there.
BUT BE AWARE OF COSTING OF THE MATERIAL because each material will be having the its price. So discuiss with PP as well as FICO consultants.

Are you taking cylinder as returable packing item or not?
ex- For soft drinks or beverages industry it pretty common , they use thel returnable package material type and more over why you want use return sales order for this?
Note- Just plz explain scenario to MM and PP People also as availability check with all combination

How to consider unrestricted stock for the run of MRP project?

Hi every one!
We are facing a problem using MRP on project stock.
We would like that the MRP takes unrestricted stock into consideration while calculating quantities to order for project stock.
For example, a project request 100 pieces of material X.
We have already 25 pieces of material X in unrestricted stock and 0 in project stock.
When I run MRP (MD51), it creates a Purchase Requisition of 100 pieces on the WBS element I have defined and not 75 as expected!!!
By searching in documents and forums, I have read I have to set the value "2 - Collective requirements only" into the field MRP4 > BOM explosion/dependent requirements > Individual/coll. of the Material Master.
I have done it but it doesn't change anything.

Hello guys!
As told, here I come with news about my problem.
Finally, the Strategy Group didn't solve our problem.
We didn't solve our problem as planned but we have found another way to work.
Instead of including the unrestricted stock in the MRP project, we use transaction CO46 to have an overview of the unrestricted stock of all the components of the project's BOM.
Based on that overview, the user can make stock transfers of the available quantities from the unrestricted stock to the project stock.
I hope it can help people having the same problem!

DPM custom filter for planned tape backups crashes mmc.

I am currently seeing this problem on a production Windows Server 2012\DPM 2012 Sp1 (Version 4.1.3465.8) and am wondering whether this could be related to the upcoming time change this weekend.
All other filters work fine - pulling back up to 7000 jobs. SQL DB passes DBCC checkdb with data_purity fine.
Could this be a bug ?

Mike,
any chance a future DPM version can/will leverage SQL Management studio/SQL Agent for backup job scheduling ? I am sure many DPM admins who (may) know the significantly greater scheduling flexibility of SQL server agent would love to
see this happen.
The proposed workaround would require to build at least 6 additional filters (given the current filter uses the allowed max 7 days) and during 2 weeks in the year the unaware/unprepared DPM admin - may perceive the mmc crash as the beginning of the
end.
Please tell me someone is willing to look at the source code to get this remedied. I know this cant be a SQL problem since SQL server agent jobs run fine time change or no time change.

Stock in MD04 is also considering Blocked stock with Unrestricted Use

Hi PP Gurus,
In MD04, the stock which the system is showing also considers Blocked Stock for Planning means stock= Unrestricted Use Stock + Blocked Stock.
We Dont want blocked stcok to be considered.
We are using 01 availabilty check with PP checking rule.
In OPPJ, the check box for Stock-Include Safety Stock is only Checked.
Can anyone Please explain why the system is considering blocked stock for Planning???

Pls check in OPPQ - Available stock tab - Blocked stock would have been activated and hence the system is considering the Blocked stock also.
This indicator when activated causes blocked stock to be included in the MRP calculation.
The indicator you enable in OPPJ will come into effect only when you carry out an avilability check.

Quality stock in planning

dear PP gurus,
In one of the plant, for RM/PM system is not considering quality stock but for SFG/FG it is consider quality stock while planning.
I want system to consider stock for all types of material. Please guide.

Only following stock can be controlled (this setting is available in OPPQ transaction)
Stock in transit
Blocked stock
Restricted stock
Hence during MRP except the above stock for net calculation all other stock is considered and PR and other receipts are considered for net calculation.
I hope the storage location defined for RM and PM are different from than those of SFG/FG and may be that storage location are excluded from MRP run or check the MRP type for RM/PM
Thses settings in OPPQ are valid for plant specific not material specific.

When I retrieve returnpack from customer, I want stock type should be blocked. When I use standart movement type 622, stock type is unrestricted use. Are there any way for this? I couldn't find any movement type which retrieve returnpack stock from customer stock (for example 622v) to storage location stock (for example 622).

Ways to consider the stocks provided to vendor on the MRP output

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement where the business want the stocks provided to vendor to be considered when running the MRP in plant.
This is a subcontracting vendor and when checking the MD04, the stocks was displayed as special stocks. Is there any way that we can consider subcrontract stocks for MRP?
I have checked already the MRP areas, but I since we have a lot of existing plants in our system. I intend to not use the MRP area as it might cause issues to planning in our existing plants. Is there any other way?
Please let me know your thoughts on this.

I believe by having BAdI- MD_SUBCONT_LOGIC implemented in your system, you can consider Subcontracting Stock in MRP.
Check with technical team to do the needful coding.

How to restrict Availability check for a particular storage location

As per the Business requirement, System should not consider the stock in a particular storage location.
while sales order creation, system should not confirm the requested delivery date based on the stock available in that particular storage location.

as you said correctly this storage location is there in MMSC for the article which we are using in Sales Order.
I have tried to delete this storage location but system is not allowing to do so.
I could not understand, from where this storage location is being determined. we have not mentioned any where in article master data.

I am mapping my service center scenario in sap,
We are consumer product manufacturer when material is wthin warranty or outside warranty, for any defects or replacement customer come with defective material to my service center.
When i will post receipt for the material it should be the CUSTOMER stock,
For that i need detailed information about special stock indicator B and movement type combination.
also item category C in purchasing documents.
plz tell me that i can directly configure these things in sap or B and C both are standard provided by sap.

Commands for Planning Applications in WAD?

Hi all,
Following the developers' guide on 'Business Planning and Analytical Services' for 2004S we got stuck on assigning custom Commands for Planning Applications in WAD, which were created in the planning wizard.
The option for 'Commands for Planning Applications' does NOT show up in the command wizard!
is there a ABAP/Java stack pre-requisite for this or is there a new(?) authorisation object missing?
Does it helps for others? On which Java Stack?

We have achieved this with below with customized program....
Exclude those batches from MRP run whose difference between the (expiration date &
current date ) is less than or equal to its procurement time mention in MRP-2
view of material master.
Before running MRP, one need to execute the program with following option:
Input data will be plant, material type or list of material:
   System should execute following logic:
1) In a plant list all material with given material type
2) Execute the BAPI for find out the characteristic value of EXB_MRP from class
type 001of material class (BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL_KEY)
3) If EXB_MRP = Y , then list out all such material.
4) For such a material identity those batches which are available in stock other
than ‘9999’
5) All such batches characteristic of shelf life expiry date need to be derived
from BAPI
6) Calculate ( Expiry Date - Today’s Date)
= Difference
PLIFZ ), batch of
the material will be transferred to the 9999 storage location which will be
excluded from MRP run.

Excluding certain storage location stocks from planning

Hi experts,
We have a requirement as under:
A plant contains certain stocks of a product. Part of this stock is kept in a separate storage location. This stock is reserved for local "over the counter" sale at the plant gate. So this stock should not be considered as available in planning as well as in deployment.
Can we exclude this stock at particular storage location during transfer to APO?

I don't think we can exclude any stock at particular storage location during transfer to APO.
In APO, we always have stock at plant level which is the lowest possible level.
And even logically thinking it should not be possible. Least I can say is, this is not the standard APO functionality.
But, we can always explore customer exist.
Instead of doing that, what I would suggest is to make this stock a "Special stock" in ECC.
