Considering Purchasing iMac-Need Info & Help-Thanks!

Hello Everyone!
I am looking into the iMac (2.4ghz or 2.6ghz) after our Gateway computer of 3-1/2 years is totally crashed and destroyed by viruses, spyware, etc. and cannot be fixed. Also the company that came out to try and fix our computer said that Microsoft did not have the internal restore turned on? Said it was no fault of our own.
Need to know what kind of Internet provider the iMac has or which one is recommended for being user friendly (we had MSN) and what do you use for a virus/spyware protector for your iMac?
Please let me know of recommendations between the 2.4ghz or 2.6 ghz and which printer (all-in-one) would be compatible. I see people like the HP C4480 All-In-One. Also, I was worried how long the Display Monitor with these iMacs should last - because we had a flat panel that only lasted about 2 years.
Is the Leopard good for documents or should I buy the MS office add on for a iMac?
Sorry for so many questions, never looked at one before. I read reviews on websites that people love the iMac and would never go back to a Microsoft PC again. Read that the Apple is very secure compared to MS. My son has used Apple at school before and loves it - so he knows more than I do. Thanks for the info - I really appreciate it!

Im my opinion the decision to get a mac is a wise one. The parts and software that go into macs are of great quality. Well worth it.
As far as the isp, as mentioned earlier, anyone would work. Usually cable broadband is simply connecting and maybe turn the internet modem on or off and your connected. The only issue with that would be wether or not the isp has tech support for mac users when necessary. But than when you buy a mac you have the option of getting a protection plan that gives you 3 years of hardware support including in-store and onsite repair, not covering accidental damage though. It also gives you 3 years of unlimited phone support 9-5 et m-f.
On top of that the apple website as you may have noticed contains probably about 90% of what the technicians use to troubelshoot any issues if you would ever have any. For the imac its only 169. I would make sure it would be the AppleCare Protection Plan, not others if considering one. It would be worth it if problems ever arose, but typically they do not. And when they do there are plenty of resources online for free that help you learn how to use, troubleshoot and master the macs.
Also you could even put windows on part of it if you wanted to, but would want to follow that with virus protection etc. I have never used any virus protection with only running mac and have never come accross a problem, and if you search around you will see that those are rare on macs, very rare.
As far as Microsoft Word, I would suggest going to the apple website if you go with the mac and try out the iWork trio program package which includes Pages, Keynote, and Numbers. (in comparison, word-powerpoint-excel) the cost of pages is much cheaper than the msoffice suite and from my experience doesnt do anything more than i noticed. It can create and read documents sent to you or opened from msword. There are also video tutorials for these programs to show you the usage aspects...

I watched all the video tutorials, but I'm not clear on these parts.
1. How to do a fade in / fade out title intro over the moving scene of the video?
2. How to adjust the color to saturate / brighten / darken video scenes?
3. How to make a credits page at end of video?
4. Also, confused because I have only 2 image / audio clips for my very short video. The first video clip has the audio track with one sound graph displayed when enlarged. The second video clip has audio with 2 sound graph images stacked on top of each other saying R and L, right and left. The first audio clip does not have this, does not look like this. This is confusing. I thought both audio clips should look the same. What's up with this? Do I have something duplicated?
5. Is there anyone here from South Orange County, California, USA, who would like to be of help to me via email, phone, Skype?
6. I am a new Youtube Partner / Vlogger and it's taking me quite a while to get the hang of this so I appreciate any helpers.

Dead Imac (need some help)

Looking for advice or help.
My new 233mghz intel 20" iMac has died. It has 2 gigs of memory that was installed by Apple and a 500 gig hard drive. When I verify the disk I get 2 errors, "volume bit map needs minor repair" and "error, underlying task reported the following error, Failure to exit". Yet when I try to repair it, disk utility says "no repair needed".
When I ran the hardware test I received this error code:
4MEM/1/40000000:04023B44.
On the advice of Apple tech support I tried to reinstall the system software. That does not work, the iMac either experiences a kernal panic or the install fails.
Anyone out there seen these problems before? Are the hardware error codes available somewhere. This is essentially a brand new machine.
I am hoping this will be something I can fix at home as the nearest Apple repair center is over 100 miles away.

Need some help with Substring

i am writing a simple program and got stuck at one point
this is how it goes:

the problem is that i NEED to use substring to get rid of the last comma, how can i take the already print out result as a whole new string?? or i need to rewrite it in another way??

You start from index 1, skipping the first element in the a-array, is that what you want? Otherwise you should loop from 0.
Anyway, here is how you can do it (skipping first element as you did):
for (int x = 1; x < a.length; x++) {

}You can't remove what you have already printed out. Another way to do this, is with a StringBuffer:

I need desperate help with Itunes for the SLVR

I have a set playlist for Itunes to take songs from and put onto my phone when it is connected. That playlist has 56 songs, but when I click autofill, it only puts 31 songs down. As I add more songs to the playlist however, it only takes certain ones. For example, for every 7 songs I download into the playlist, it only takes 2 or 3. The phone has tons of space but I don't know, need desperate help, thanks in advance.

i know i have the same problem the only one thing i have noticed that is consistant along with this problem is that songs that will not go on it are all of them have a higher bit rate than songs that do go on the phone but thats the only real thing i can notice so if someone can show me how to lower the bit rate if its possible that might be the miracle cure

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. You will have to contact them. Since you are not the original purchaser of the phone and do not have service with whatever carrier it might be locked to, it is highly unlikely you will get it unlocked.
Since it was hacked to unlock it originally, it is highly likely that the phone will become a brick if you attempt to apply a legitimate unlock.
Actually, it is probably already a brick.
There is nothing we can suggest other than to google "iphone dfu mode" and try doing a restore in DFU mode to see if that can bring it back to life. It may. If so, you will then need to work with the carrier it's locked to or sell it and buy a new phone.

Getting new iMac, need help transferring iPhone,

Okay, I've been using my iPhone with my main PC since I've had it. A few months ago, I started having problems with it (my PC), and it became very unstable. I haven't synced my iPhone in 3-4 months. Mainly because it was so unstable...most of the time, it wouldn't even boot into Windows. In the meantime, I've just been using my PowerBook, and Aspire One for all my computer needs.
So I ordered one of the new iMac 24's last week to replace my PC, and it will be here tomorrow. Today, I've been backing up my PC, with an external HDD, in Safe Mode. Since that's the only way I can get into Windows now. I've copied over all the folders I used for my iPhone...like for photos, custom ringtones, etc. And copied over the iTunes folder. But unfortunately, I cannot sync the iPhone in Safe Mode. So all the stuff in the iTunes folder is at least 3-4 months old. And I've bought music and apps from iTunes on the phone since then, as well as added contacts, taken pics, etc.
My question is, when I sync up the iPhone on my new iMac...will I lose everything that's been added to the iPhone since the last time I did a sync? Is there anyway to get it transferred? Or at least get my purchased music/apps from the iPhone to iTunes on the new machine? I can email the pics I've taken, and copy down the added contacts if need be...my main concern is the music/apps I've purchased on the iPhone.
Thanks for any help you can provide...and hopefully I didn't make that too confusing.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes store, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new Mac with your iTunes account with iTunes.
After doing so, with your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
Before syncing contact info with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal on your new Mac, enter one contact in the Address Book and one calendar event in iCal on your new Mac. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt when syncing contact info and calendar events with the Address Book and iCal on your new Mac, which you want to select.
Photos captured by your iPhone are not included with the iTunes sync process, except for being included with your iPhone's backup, which is the first step during the sync process. If you will be using iPhoto for storing photos on your new Mac, you can use iPhoto for importing these photos from your iPhone. Any photos transferred to your iPhone from your PC via the iTunes sync process must be transferred from your PC to your new Mac into iPhoto.
If all 3rd party apps available on your iPhone are not transferred to your iTunes library on your new Mac, you can re-download the apps with iTunes on your new Mac. You will not be charged again for any purchased apps as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the apps that was used to purchase the apps originally.
