Consistency between CIFed data and BW data

Hai,
         I am transferring data from ECC to APO and also from ECC to BW. Now, I use both the data in APO for my planinng.
In case of materials: When CIFing, I have a material, MAT1. With user exit that adds the source name at the begining making it L25MAT1.  I also extract historical data from ECC. But I donot add any prefix or suffix. Now when it comes to planning, I have two different names for the same material. How can I get rid of this problem? If I deactivate my user exit, I won't be able to recognize it and at the same time, I don't want to add any prefix to the BW data. I know I can use BSGs but does that help? How does this work if I use BSGs?
Same is the case for location with both customer and vendor the same name.
Thank you.

Visu,
I am confused as to why you took this approach of product naming standard via CIF. The product name should be left as is MAT1. Its the location-product like MAT1-L25 which will be the basis of your planning in APO both SNP and PPDS. For sales history you must be having data at a SKU, customer level which let's say is MAT1 and L25 (assuming it to be the customer). So you extract data from ECC to BW as in form of MAT1-L25-100-EA-W142006 i.e. SKU-customer/Sell to-Quantity-UoM-Time Bucket (week).
Then you generate CVCs based on the Sales History which will create MAT1-L25 for product and location. This can be mapped to both your sales history as well as planning data in SNP and PPDS.
Please note BSG is not used in a scenario mentioned by you. It is used only if you have multiple ERP systems linked to same SCM system and the same product code in different ERP system refers to different products. The SAP help example I think talks about screw and hammer being two different items but having same product code MAT1 in respective ERP system.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

  • Cost in simulation not consistent between accounting column and cost assign

    When doing simulation on a trip report that has cash advanced used included  I get a inconsistency between
    accounting column and trip cost statement in the simulation window.
    In the accouting column in simulation, the cash advance used is included as a part a total cost but when I look at trip cost statement that value is not included as an expense to be transferred.
    This seems a bit strange to me.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    Following could have a reason.
    On travel request you may had checked on  Cash Office column while requesting advance...
    How to resolve it..
    You cannot change advance so you have to do following thing.
    1) Enter the same amount in negative along WITH checked on  Cash Office column ..
    2) Enter New amount WITHOUT check on cash office.
    then run again simulation..
    I hope it would serve your purpose...

  • Color Consistency between Hardbacked book and soft backed book

    I developed, uploaded and received several hard backed books (8.5 x 11) via Aperture 2 and was very impressed with the results. Later, I decided to use the same files to print some additional soft backed books of the same seize and I was really disappointed at the color reproduction on those. No changes to the files between the two orders.
    Earl

    Kenneth,
    this is hardly an observable difference:
    "RGB 243/203/70 in his original,RGB 243/203/71 in mine"
    Downsampling should be switched off (instead of placing
    by size 100% and using the old ppi value, that's just an
    unnecessary complication).
    The text by PhS was probably part of the raster image.
    In such a case avoid any JPEG compression (e-book),
    because this will change almost all colors just a little
    even in large areas. Raster text will be garbled (your
    observation).
    "No Color Conversion and under Profile Inclusion Policy
    I set Don't Include Profiles"
    This is IMO correct for a reproduction, whatever
    ingredients might be in the original page or in the PDF.
    The only remaining sources for a color shift - visible
    by comparing the two versions under the same test con-
    ditions - are downsampling and JPEG compression, IMO.
    Note: the question is not whether the two versions are
    correct, but whether they are identical.

  • Difference between oracle Data Guard and Replication

    Hello Friends,
    I would like to know the main difference between oracle replication and data guard. Theoretically both are same then where is the difference. Can replication or dataguard be configured in a single PC.
    Thanks

    Dataguard :
    Oracle Data Guard is primarily for high availability, data protection, and disaster recovery. An Oracle Data Guard Standby instance provides transactionally consistent copies of the production database, in the event of an unplanned outage or instance maintenance the Data Guard Primary Role Standby Role can be switched so the Standby instance can provide Production services.
    Replication :
    Oracle Advanced Replication and Oracle Streams are Oracle's solution for replicating data and internal structures to remote databases. Advanced Replication is primarily trigger based where Streams is a rule/handler based replication process and considerably more efficient and less error prone than Advanced Replication

  • Date between sysdate-50 and sysdate  problem

    hi,
    i have a big big problem and i need some help
    I have oracle 8i and 10g databases installed at work. i have a problem with an select statement that brings data from 3 tables.
    The select looks like this:
    select mms_id, img_id, mms_usr_id as usr_id, mms_pvd_id, mms_data as data
    from vsc_mms vm, vsc_image vi, vsc_user vu
         where img_mms_id = mms_id
         and mms_usr_id = usr_id and usr_client_id = cli
         and img_mms_id <> 0
              and mms_status =0
              and mms_data between data_ini and data_end .......is not very important; the joins are made all right. What is important is that:
    vsc_mms has aprox. 3.000.000 recordings
    vsc_image has, also, aprox. 3.000.000 recordings.
    select count(distinct img_date) from vsc_image =657.021
    select count(distinct mms_data) from vsc_mms >=600.000
    On both tables there are, among other, index on mms_data, img_date.
    Now, my data_ini and data_end come from java (user send data_ini and data_end through http:// ) OR i can put this select in a procedure like:
    declare
    datai date:=to_date('20.01.2006','dd.mm.yyyy');
    datae date:=to_date('30.01.2006','dd.mm.yyyy');
    ......my select ..... and mms_data between data_ini and data_end
    the select takes on 8i more than 30 seconds. the same select takes on 10G quite same long time. i also run the select using
    and mms_data between sysdate-50 and sysdate and i got the same long time.
    Also important: this select brings almost 30 recordings; when the restrictions are too severe and the count(*) =0 the result is brought in 0.01 seconds; outherwise, when count(*) >1, is ruinous.
    But, if i put and mms_data between to_date('20.01.2006','dd.mm.yyyy') and to_date('30.01.2006','dd.mm.yyyy'), the response come in 1 seconds or less.
    1. Can someone help me and tell me why i got this long time for response when i use sysdate or when receiving data_ini, data_end like parameters from java
    2. is it true that for a better usage of a index, the procent of repeatedly recordings has to be small? I mean when i have 600.000 distinct recordings from 3.000.000 is it good or not to use index on that column?
    thanks in advance

  • To find months and days between 2 dates

    Hi,
    I want to find the months and days between 2 dates.
    For Eg.
    Date-1 : 25-Aug-2013
    Date-2 : 23-Oct-2013
    If we consider every month as 30 days it should give
    25-Aug-2013 to 30-Aug-2013 = 6 days
    01-Sep-2013 to 30-Sep-2013 = 1 Month
    23-Oct-2013 to 30-Oct-2013 =   8 days
    Total = 1 month and 14 days.
    Kindly help at the earliest.

    That's not a good idea though.  Be considering every month as 30 days, then comparisons over larger date ranges (years) will be out by more and more days the larger the difference gets.
    Your example is also wrong.
    For Eg.
    Date-1 : 25-Aug-2013
    Date-2 : 23-Oct-2013
    If we consider every month as 30 days it should give
    25-Aug-2013 to 30-Aug-2013 = 6 days
    01-Sep-2013 to 30-Sep-2013 = 1 Month
    23-Oct-2013 to 30-Oct-2013 =   8 days
    The last one should be:
    01-Oct-2013 to 23-Oct-2013 = 23 days
    giving a result of 1 month and 29 days.
    Oracle provides a months_between function to do the calculation.
    SQL> select months_between(date '2013-10-23', date '2013-08-25') from dual;
    MONTHS_BETWEEN(DATE'2013-10-23',DATE'2013-08-25')
                                           1.93548387
    But of course, because the number of days in a month varies, it's not exacly known what the decimal part of the number represents.
    However, if you combine methods, using months_between to get the months, and then assume 30 days for a month to get the days part from the remainder, it's more consistent over longer periods...
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
      1  with dates as (select date '2013-08-25' as date_from, date '2013-10-23' as date_to from dual)
      2  --
      3  select months_between(date_to, date_from)
      4        ,trunc(months_between(date_to, date_from)) as months
      5        ,round(mod(months_between(date_to, date_from),1)*30) as days
      6* from dates

  • Difference between relational integrity and data intigrity

    hi
    could anybody tell me
    what is the difference between
    relational integrity and data intigrity
    tahnx
    kals.

    hi,
    Data Integrity
    Data integrity means, in part, that you can correctly and consistently navigate and manipulate the tables in the database. There are two basic rules to ensure data integrity; entity integrity and referential integrity.
    The entity integrity rule states that the value of the primary key can never be a null value (a null value is one that has no value and is not the same as a blank). Because a primary key is used to identify a unique row in a relational table, its value must always be specified and should never be unknown. The integrity rule requires that insert, update, and delete operations maintain the uniqueness and existence of all primary keys.
    The referential integrity rule states that if a relational table has a foreign key, then every value of the foreign key must either be null or match the values in the relational table in which that foreign key is a primary key.
    What is a Relational Integrity?
    A relational database contains tables of data which are related to each other. For example, articles are related to the author who wrote them, and conversely, authors are related to the articles they wrote. (Sounds obvious, and it is.) That's the relational part.
    When we work with a relational database, we naturally expect that data in related tables stay related. For example, articles written by MartinB should always be related to MartinB and never be confused with articles written by any other author. That's the integrity part.
    Relational Integrity is also called Referential Integrity, perhaps because the mechanism for ensuring integrity is implemented by the way the tables reference each other. Both terms are okay with me. I usually just say RI anyway.

    Just subtract the dates from each other and you will get the number of days. I have used it and it works prefect
    try this:
    DATA: date1 like sy-datum,
    date2 like sy-datum.
    data I type i.
    date1 = '20070301'.
    date2 = '20070228'.
    i = date1 - date2.
    write: / date1, date2, i.
    date1 = sy-datum.
    date2 = sy-datum - 30.
    i = date1 - date2.
    write: / date1, date2, i.

    There is something incompatible would be my guess. Did you disconnect all your peripherals in safe mode just to check?
    You might now create a new temporary user account. Log into the new account. Do the panics still occur?
    I would also visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. Sometimes they can be difficult to track down. Looking at each new panic log would help determine if it's cause is associated with the same extensions.
