Consistent crashing at AP3 launch.

I have read about several migration and operational issues with AP3 in this forum.
My own issue is that the app consistently crashes at launch. I am running an 8 core 2009 Mac Pro, 16GB RAM, 10.6.2, no add-ons, 32-bit checked, AP3 library on its own drive in the machine. I upgraded to AP3 via the software trial, then entering the serial number seemingly without issue. My library is relatively small with only 4000 raw images. The conversion of the AP2 library to AP3 went smoothly.
But, today I imported 400 new images. With the activity monitor opened, I saw the program successfully import the images, and simultaneously importing jpeg thumbnails when available (or something to that effect). The next task that was in the queue is where the program crashes: "processing 7 of 400 items", for example. The error dialog comes up, and I try to "reopen" and it crashes again. I reboot, launch and the activity monitor again shows "processing x of 400 items" and quickly crashes.
I've tried fixing permissions, rebuilding database, and the 3rd rebuild option when launching with command-option pressed. I've tried fixing permissions in disk utility.
Please help. I know it's only 4400 images, but they are precious to me.

Same thing happens top me. Firefox does it to, every first launch. Here is the relevant information from the crash report. Good times.
