Consistent mismatch count on a kernel RAID1

I've got two partitions in a RAID1.  cat'ing the mismatch_cnt for this (the only) array is now producing 122 consistently.  I've tried:
- echo'ing repair and check into sync_action for this array many times.  A cron job used to do each once on different nights of the week, now it's doing repair nightly
- running smartctl --test long on both of the HDs that have these partitions
- starting the system from SystemRescueCD and doing fsck.ext4 -fvvck
I don't know how to see any results from the repair/check actions.  The SMART test results indicate no problems on either physical HD.  The filesystem check produced no errors.  Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I might to do fix this?  This is my root partition, not a swap and there's no swap file on this filesystem.  After a reboot the mismatch is 0 until I do a check or repair, then it's 122.  The system is an up-to-date 64-bit Arch installation, the filesystem is ext4 mounted with defaults.  Thanks.

Updated my Chromebook to systemd - no problems at all. Just swapped out init=/sbin/init for init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd
This can be done post-install, under ChromeOS, by redownloading make_dev_ssd.sh and common_minimal.sh, remounting /tmp as exec and copying those shell scripts there, and then running (in /tmp):
sudo ./make_dev_ssd.sh --partitions '6' --save_config arch
sudo vim arch.6 # change init=
sudo ./make_dev_ssd.sh --partitions '6' --set_config arch
Obviously this also applies to changing any other kernel parameters.
As a sidenote, I use both Arch and CrOS regularly. I use CrOS as the "default" OS, and I have:
alias archboot = 'sudo cgpt add -i 6 -T 1 -P 5 -S 0 /dev/sda && sudo reboot'
in my user's ~/.bash_profile so that when I'm logged in to CrOS, Arch is just a Ctrl-Shift-T (opens crosh), "shell" (opens bash), "archboot" and then my root password away. Both Arch and CrOS have very minimal bootup times, so this serves me well.
Obviously hitting Ctrl-D on every boot to clear the Sad Chromebook is a bit annoying, but not too bad. The beep still surprises me sometimes if I forget!

  • [Target] - Partition definition is not valid: [Cell count mismatch: [1814427] area for slice [1] members per dimension [67 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 51 531 ]]

    Hello Everyone,
I am receiving the error : [Target] - Partition definition is not valid: [Cell count mismatch: [1814427] area for slice [1] members per dimension [67 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 51 531 ]] when trying to validate my transparent partition.
Because of some issues the data is not getting reflected at the target database.
    Please suggest some solution.
    Thanks in advance.

I would exercise the following steps
1.Copy the original partition script in a notepad
2.Open one source outline and target outline applications in EAS Console in vertical mode.
3.Check the partition members coming from both source  to Target application are in sync, by checking the source members and target members in the respective cubes ,if  any new member got added in your source partition intersection then you need the member in the target too,if they are not ,then cell count mismatch will occur.
4.Since its a transparent partition target the shared transparent areas of the data source and data target outlines need not be identical. The dimensions and member in the data source maps to each dimension and member in the data target. You need to define the definition of mapping
5.Create partition either using maxl or using create partition in EAS .
In your case 1 partitions has the cell mismatch counts ,since you are able to retrieve the data for 3 partitions in the target applications

  • Consistent Roaming with WDS on AP1142n WAPs

    Hi there
    Background
I have 3 Cisco AP1142n with one as the WDS and running local radius, the WDS then authenticates to an external FreeRadius server. The SSID is using EAP-TLS authentication.
The other 2 AP's are running as WDS clients and they have registered and authenticated fine against local radius on WDS AP
    Problem
Users are able to roam however 90% of the time this does not work and users who are connected to a VPN lose their connection and have to re-ath to the SSID..  I am also seeing the pattern is that when users roam from WDS-Client AP 1 to WDS-Client AP2 , this does not work however when they then re-auth to WDS-Client AP2 and back to AP1 this works fine.
I have following debug enabled on the WDS device
    General OS:
      AAA Authentication debugging is on
      AAA Authorization debugging is on
    dot11/wlccp authenticator:
      receive packet debugging is on
      transmit packet debugging is on
      state machine debugging is on
      process debugging is on
      Mac Authentication debugging is on
      Dispatcher debugging is on
List of MNs with WDS events debugging enabled :
     b88d.1213.1b3a
The question I have is the following line which I keep seeing in the output
    May 13 12:24:47.980: AAA/AUTHOR: auth_need : user= 'xxx' ruser= 'AP-WDS-01'rem_addr= '10.x.x.x' priv= 1 list= '' AUTHOR-TYPE= 'commands'
    May 13 12:24:51.243: AAA/AUTHOR: auth_need : user= 'xxx' ruser= 'AP-WDS-01'rem_addr= '10..x.x.x' priv= 15 list= '' AUTHOR-TYPE= 'commands'
    May 13 12:25:17.259: AAA/AUTHOR: auth_need : user= 'xxx' ruser= 'AP-WDS-01'rem_addr= '10.x.x.x' priv= 15 list= '' AUTHOR-TYPE= 'commands'
Do these lines tell me anything?
    Also in addition
    WDS Statistics for last 4d19h:
        Current AP count:                3
        Current MN count:                0
        AAA Auth Attempt count:          12
        AAA Auth Success count:          12
        AAA Auth Failure count:          0
        MAC Spoofing Block count:        0
Roaming without AAA Auth count:  15
Roaming with full AAA Auth count:5
        Fast Secured Roaming count:      0
        MSC Failure count:               0
        KSC Failure count:               0
        MIC Failure count:               0
        RN Mismatch count:               0
What do the above bold lines tell me?
    Kind Regards

    Agree with Rasika..
if you are using 802.1x, then only you would want to configure WDS for the key caching.
if you are using a PSK, then all you need to do is configure the AP exactly the same way, with the exception of the IP address on the BVI interface, as long as the ssid and encryption are the same, and there is overlap between the cells the client should roam between the AP

  • Counter is skipping counts

I am using a GPCTR with NIDAQ 6.9.3 on a MIO-16XE-50. I have a motor with a sensor on it that sends a digital pulse based on revolutions. I am using VB6.0 to watch this counter and using it to trigger data conversions. Intermittently, that is, with no pattern or consistency, the counter will skip counts. I know the VB loop isn't too slow, and I've tried slowing the motor down. Any idea as to what is causing this to happen? I've tried adding a low-pass filter to the signal, thinking it was glitchy, but that didn't help.
any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any buffering between your sensor and the 16-XE-50? I have noticed that these cards do not behave well if the source impedence is high. You should put a Schmitt trigger between your motor signal and the card. I assume you have checked things like switching levels to make sure your signal is switching a full 0-5V or close to it. I have done a fair bit of work with the GPCTR's on that card and will help further if you need it.

  • Continued Kernel Panics

    Hi All,
A friend has asked me to have a look at her iBook, it's a 1.33GHz G4 12" model and has been faultless until recently. She explained to me that it was doing strange things which immediately sounded like kernel panics, i asked her to bring it in for me to look at. I tested it at work, did a few updates etc and it ran fine the whole time it was here, she takes it home again and it does the same thing.
Very odd! My suspicions were/are the Airport card but given the fact it seems to work ok in the office, i'm not sure.... the panic log does seem to mention the Airport card also, but i'm not familiar with these so am not sure if it's normal.
Can anyone diagnose anything from the below, which is the last 4 entries in the panic log, should we be looking at a new Airport card... or something else?? Disk Utility and Tech Tools all report everything running fine FWIW.

Although it is a very involved process accessing the AE card on this iBook, it can be done, and it is removable (as opposed to being soldered in or hardwired to the logic board) as the iFixit directions show. If the OP is game and willing to work with it, the card can be removed. However, your suggestion of testing it by turning it off would be appropriate. It that stops the panics, we know for sure where the issue is. If you look at the log you will see a consistent pattern in the Backtrace:
Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies):
    com.apple.iokit.AppleAirPort2(405.1)@0x67e000
Whenever the computer gets to the point of AE, it panics. Normally you look for the first dependendency after the Backtrace, and this one is consistently there. I am not, by any means, expert at reading logs, but I have learnt to look at the Backtrace. It is not always as clear as it is here, as there are usually a lot of code numbers, which I have not learned to interpret. In this case, I think it is clear enough to say that the issue is the AE card.

  • Kernel 2.6.23 bnx2 driver does not properly identify link speed

I recently upgraded to kernel version 2.6.23 and have lost my network connectivity. I cannot get into or out of the box. If I boot with a rescue disk using kernel 2.6.22 then everything works fine. I can ping, ssh, rsync you name it. I haven't changed any config files. Am I missing some obvious change that took place between the old and new kernels? I'll gladly post any relevant info.
The only thing that looks weird so far is that the eth0 shows up as a 100MB connection. It's a gig card plugged into a gig port in a Cisco 6509.
The switch shows the port as up and up and set to Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s.
Booting into kernel 2.6.23 dmesg output shows:
bnx2: eth0 NIC Copper Link is Up, 100 Mbps full duplex
Booting into kernel 2.6.22 dmesg output shows:
bnx2: eth0 NIC Link is Up, 1000 Mbps full duplex
I think the mismatched link speed in kernel 2.6.23 is killing my network connectivity. I'm not sure how to check for other symptoms and I don't know how to fix it.
    Anyone familiar with this issue?

I reverted to kernel 2.6.22.9-1 from my pacman cache and everything seems to be working now.
Due to the nature of the problem I'm not sure this is a task for arch developers It's more for kernel developers to know about.

  • Apache, iPrint and SSL/nile.nlm

    Hi,
Getting various abends on a daily basis. Server is running as a vm on ESX 4.1 on an AMD platform. The running process is not always the same (apache_workprocess, seg.nlm, pcountdp.nlm) but the type of abend seems to be very consistent. It is the "Kernel detected an attempted context switch in an MPK Fast WTD". Another consistency seems to be that SSL and nile.nlm are high up on the stack - but maybe that is just normal for any iPrint server with secure iprint enabled on every printer (about 400 printer agents).
Thinking it might be a bad cert I have tried using both the self-signed "SSL CertificateDNS" cert and a third-party (Thawte) cert. Same result in either case. I have also tried the various tweaks on ESX for NetWare guest vm's :
    - setting the memory reservation
    - settting cpu affinity,
    - setting the virtualization method to use hardware (Intel/AMD mmu and Intel/AMD instruction set) rather than automatic,
    - removing the acpidrv.psm module from startup.ncf
    - I have NOT set the NUMA memory node affinity.
The last thing I can think of to try is to turn off secure iPrint. If I do that, can I load apache without it listening on port 443 and not break any iPrint services? I do have iManager running on this same guest as well but I do not need it there.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ron
Below are two recent abends, one with pcountdp.nlm and the second with apache_worker process. I've cut the nlm list on the second abend to get it to fit into this post.

Maybe Hamish Speirs can explain it - it was his post in another thread that gave me the idea and commands to try (see http://forums.novell.com/forums/nove...r-10038-a.html).
We had a confluence of changes at the beginning of the semester (Sept) that no doubt helped contribute to the problem and yet also mask the real cause to a certain extent.
    1. The Thawte cert expired and was replaced with a new cert - Thawte does not support doing renewals on NetWare. This happened around the start of Sept.
    2. School semester begins. Thousands of students return.
    3. We use Pcounter for pay-for-print and it uses httpstk to provide a webpage for students to authorize print jobs.
    4. Printing activity in general goes way up.
    5. All printers are Secure.
    6. Apache, iPrint and httpstk all use the same Thawte certificate
    7. The print server was also hosting the netstorage service which also uses the Thawte cert (via apache).
    8. The print server was recently (August) virtualized (via p2v using the excellent Portlock Storage Manager)
Eventually I built a new NetWare vm to host print services and got a new cert so at least the netstorage and print services were no longer running together. I suspected at that point that the likely source of the abends was NetStorage since Nile and SSL were almost always involved in the abends.
After the separation the issues continued - so it wasn't netstorage's fault. Desparate searching of the 'net lead to H.'s post. The rest is history!
It has now been 9 days up uptime without a single nile/ssl related abend ( I had one abend in pcounter but services survived).

  • 30 days continues leave, but shows only 25 days in IT2001

    Hello seniors,
When I mark 30 days continues leave in IT2001, system takes only 25 days and balance 5 days (4 Sunday & one public holiday), it shows as present. I want to get a report saying he was on leave all 30 days.
Can we achieve this through standard configuration itself or need to write any schema?
    Regards
    JINUI

    Hi Juniu;
There are Absence days, Calendar days and Payroll days in IT2001. And also quota deduction for abscences with quota.
From spro-Time Management-Time Data Recording and Administration-Absences-Absence Catalog-Absence Counting-Rules for Absence Counting (New)-Define Counting Rules or simply from table T556C you have to change the configuration of abscence counting for applicability of rule in holiday class, day type, conditions for work schedule which consists of counting class for period work schedule and daily work schedule class, conditions for planned hours.
With these configurations you decide whether it will be counted as abscence on the relative day, period.
But as far as I know these configurations affect Payroll days.
And also as Simon says if it is only will be for information then calendar day will be 30 and you can report in Ad-Hoc reports.
    Hope this can help you.
    Regards;
    Okan

  • Help on SPAM: xpra execution, tp buffer inconsistency 008

I'm trying to ask to this forum, I've never received any kind of suggestion.
On a Win2k3/mssql 2000/sap 4.7x200 installation, using SPAM 6.20/19 I've encountered an error in XPRA execution (is a tp buffer inconsistency with return code 0008) while I was upgrading basis from KB62042 to KB62046, "Packages in the queue don't exist in the tp buffer". I know for sure the problem is the SPAM version (I avoid this problem on another installation using spam 6.20/20), but now I can't proceed and I don't know absolutely what to do to fix the problem. Can I remove the queue in any way to update the spam and launch again the KB update? And then how can i check the consistency of the system?
kernel 640 level 155, not unicode. For any other info about configurationm please write!

  • Just another 'ATI KMS' thread - crash by console or X shutdown

    Hi!
I'm one of those who is trying to get my Radeon HD 3200 working with early KMS and Arch x64 on my HP touchsmart tx2.
While the last versions worked either not at all or a little bit so X could start the current one seems to be a bit more stable. But nevertheless I experience a very strange behaviour: When trying to switch to a console (CTRL + ALT + F[1..6]) the screen just gets blank and the whole systems seems to crash. When trying to shutdown and X is closed the same happens and the shutdown doesn't occur. Unfortunately accelleration doesn't work as well. Might there be a mistake I made? I don't understand the line of the Xorg log marked with '(*)' by me at all. What's that about?
Package versiosn I am using that might be interesting:
    kernel26 2.6.32.2-2
    xf86-video-ati 6.12.4-3
    xorg-server 1.7.3.902-1
    dri2proto 2.1-1
    lib32-mesa 7.7-1
    mesa 7.7-1
    lib32-libdrm 2.4.17-2
    libdrm 2.4.17-2
    libgl 7.7-1
    xf86driproto 2.1.0-1
Currently I neither use the radeon module nor hook nor the firmware hook for the initial ramdisk.
glxgears (from which I know it isn't a benchmark at all) runs with about 415 fps.

    Thank you in advance!

KMS is still enabled in the kernel, it's just libdrm that needs to be recompiled. And then mesa and xf86-video-ati need to be recompiled against that. In other words it's a huge pain. The package versions I'm using now that get decent radeon kms framerates are:
    kernel26-2.6.31.6
    libdrm-2.4.16
    xf86-video-ati-git-20091008
    mesa-7.6
    xorg-server-1.6.3.901
And I refuse to upgrade until I can upgrade and still have KMS. Thanks to a combination of "Arch doesn't want to support KMS" and "Dave Airlie despite his best intentions makes the driver more prone to crash on my system with every git push" my IgnorePkg list is now a page long.

  • Japanese Language Import Error

    Hi Experts,
We are installing the Japanese language for ECC6.0 EHP5 but we are getting below error.i have check all permisssions are good . did we download worng language cd ?
    Thanks
    Kiran.GVL

    Hi Kiran,
Is this CD was shipped with the ecc6.0 Ehp 5 product?
If yes, have you ever update kernel, support packs or patches before importing language?
If you downloaded this from SMP, then you should consider ABHISHEK SINGH comment that there is a mismatch in version like kernel version EXT or non EXT etc...

  • EA1 - DBMS_OUTPUT prints to Script Output window

    All,
I saw another post about the window switching from the DBMS Output window to the script window after a script is executed (I don't like that either), but this is different.
My DBMS Output is being output to the Script Output window.
    Example:
    begin
       dbms_output.put_line('Hello World');
    end;Yields (in Script Output):
    anonymous block completed
    Hello WorldDan
    Modified Subject

This is definitely a change from 1.2.1.31.12, where even running as a script the DBMS Output was displayed on the DBMS Output tab.
However, while this makes DBMS Output inconsistent (where it appears depends on how you run it) it does make scripts that produce DBMS Output and other output consistent (all output goes to script output).
For example, if you were writing scripts like the following (assuming the PL/SQL generates DBMS Output), the output will now be consistent:
    select count('x') records from my_interface;
    begin
    process_my_interface;
    end;
    select count('x') records from my_interface;
With the way the DBMS Output and Script Output tabs are set up now, either DBMS Output or Script Output has to be inconsistent when in comes to displaying DBMS Output. I think that the way 1.5 EA1 works is inconsistent in a more manageable way (largely because reconstructing a single stream of output from more complex cases of the example above would be difficult).

  • 10.6.4 major issues with 64-bit mode?

I happened to check my "32-64 bit Kernel Startup Mode Selector" app today and noticed that my MBP was running in 32-bit mode and set to always boot into 32-bit mode. This was not how it was under 10.6.3. I've had my machines set to automatically boot into 64-bit mode ever since Snow Leopard arrived so this was wierd.
But then, just clicking on the 'start in 64-bit mode' option raises an error message (error code -5000).
So I manually edited the com.apple.boot.plist file to boot into 64-bit mode, rebooted, and found I was still in 32-bit mode.
But the very worst problem of all is that when I force 64-bit mode on boot (holding down the '6' and '4' keys still works) the machine then hangs after waking from its first sleep. But it runs fine in 32-bit mode.
Has anybody else discovered this? I will try to redo the update using the combo update but isnt this wierd?

Hi, I noticed the same behaviour just yesterday. My macbook pro did not boot at pure 64bit as before and I too think this started with the 10.6.4 upgrade (performed 10 days ago). That said, I cannot replicate the hang after return from sleep issue you describe.
I am not sure which method you had used, with 10.6.3, to force the system to always boot with a 64bit kernel and extensions but here is what worked for me.
I re-issued the command I used to achieve this with 10.6.2, in terminal:
    sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguratio/com.apple.Boot \
    'Kernel Flags' 'arch=x86_64'
this did not restore the 64 bit boot but it did fix a problem with a series of error log entries I was getting about /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot
Specifically, I noticed that this file, which was xml-formated before re-issuing the above command, was re-writen in a binary format when I checked it again after re-issuing that command -- and the errors in the system log were no longer reported. A wild guess, but I wonder if Apple changed the spec for 10.6.4, disabling the stored forced-boot preference as a side-effect.
In any case, even after this, the system still started up in hybrid mode. I finally fixed it, by issuing this in terminal:
    sudo nvram boot-args=”arch=x86_64″
I am not sure if this alone did it, or if it was a combination of the two, but this is the third time I've restarted and my system consistently boots with a 64bit kernel and extensions.
I hope this helps, good luck!

what must i do to get this thing work?

I think the issue was that the vboxdrv module that was loaded in ram was from the previous version.  Then when you upgraded Virtualbox and tried to run it.. there was a version mismatch because the old kernel module was still loaded.  A reboot would have solved this issue, as it did.
to avoid the restart you could have also done
    rmmod vboxdrv
    modprobe vboxdrv
ok ty for your time and the info.

  • Ifsstart on Linux fails

    Hi all,
ifsstart on linux will fail due to an exception in jre (native threads).
The system consists of 2.4.1. kernel and the latest SuSE 7.1.
Would be most grateful for any ideas!
    TIA

    Hi
I've had loads of problems setting up ifs on a recent kernel due to bad glibc/kernel/jdk interactions. I've endend up getting a RH 6.2, applying all RH 6.2 updates, and getting all the src.rpms necessary for kernel 2.4 from RH rawhide and rebuilding them for the old RH 6.2 glibc.
I still need to keep a 2.2 kernel for dbassist to be able create databases (will fail with a 2.2 kernel) and ifsmgr core dumps every time I use it.
As for the the jdk I use with ifs, it's IBM latest 1.3 sdk, since I consider it a lot more stable on a 2.4 kernel than the 1.1.8 series (I just wish I could tell ifsmgr, dbassist and other oracle utilities to use it). Blackdown's 1.1.8 jdk is sturdier than IBM's 1.1.8, but lots of oracle apps won't work with it.
I used solaris/NT instructions to tell ifs to use a 1.2 java jdk, didn't find how in the linux doc (btw is there a classes12.zip in ifs 1.1.5 linux ?).
After all this, I got an working kernel 2.4 ifs setup. But it took me quite a lot of time. I just hope Oracle and RedHat team up to produce a working 7.x oracle setup soon, 2.4 kernels are too good to be ignored, and getting one to run on a 6.2 distrib is hell.
