Console.app showing 18/12/2011 19:38:28 com.apple.launchd.peruser.502[155] (com.zeobit.MacKeeper.Helpe r) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
So, i was looking around in my Console.app after three system crashes (which is another question i have, my 2010 MBP keeps completely locking up whenever i go to wish my uncle a happy birthday on Facebook[Safari 5.1.2])
And i notice this entry coming up every 10 seconds:
18/12/2011 19:38:28 com.apple.launchd.peruser.502[155] (com.zeobit.MacKeeper.Helper) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
I had MacKeeper installed a long time ago, in my naive months when i first got my MBP, and i saw how bad it was. I deleted the app using AppZapper, trashed all the .com and .plist files etc. etc., but this entry is (and maybe has been for a long time) still coming up.
Can anyone shed some light?
It says PID was 162 at one point, looked in activity monitor for process PID 162, as you guessed, nothing.
What do, internet?
That's the trouble with these uninstall apps, they generally cannot be guaranteed to uninsall everything a app can create.
Look in these following places for anything that might be related to mackeeper:
your login items
~/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/StartupItems
If you find obvious mackeeper items toss in the trash and reboot. If you are not sure post the items here.
I'm guessing there's a com.zeobit.MacKeeper.Helper in the LaunchAgents or LaunchDaemons.

Hello,
When i bought my MBP in Mid-2011 I found my Mac to be a little unstable but because I was new to MacOS I thought that perhaps it was just me. I have carried on now for over a year, two machine formats plus an upgrade to Lion (from Snow leopard) and I'm still having problems.
I keep seeing;
Jul 5 11:03:12 tixylix com.apple.launchd[1] (org.samba.nmbd[1426]): posix_spawn("/opt/local/sbin/nmbd", ...): No such file or directory
Jul 5 11:03:12 tixylix com.apple.launchd[1] (org.samba.nmbd[1426]): Exited with code: 1
Jul 5 11:03:12 tixylix com.apple.launchd[1] (org.samba.nmbd): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Scrolling in my Console logs, could this be something to do with the cause of my problems?
Should I take it to my local Apple store and let them have a look?
Many thanks in advance.

I keep getting error 586 in the console along with the following:

The console shows thousands of these error messages and it's messed up many functions of my MacBook.
I have VMFusion on my Mac because for work I need to use Windows. Last night I tried installing Windows 7 but could not complete installation. I got a message saying "can not locate driver". Then I started getting the Error 586.
Today I unistalled VMFusion hoping that would resolve the Error 586. No such luck.
Can anyone help me get rid of this constant error, plesase?I believe this has something to do with Mail. Are these frequently occurring errors? If so and you quit Mail do the errors cease?
Google searching for "org.postfix.master" reveals quite a number of links that you might check for more information. -
I have a MacBook that had Mcafee on it and went to great lengths to get it off. Unfortunately after running all the remove scripts and support from mcafee, in my console it still shows com.apple.launchd{1} with message (com.mcafee.virusscan.VshieldEPointInterface[7881]) Exeted with exit code:1 Then the next line says will start in 10 seconds and it repeats endlessly.
Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,

Please Help! I have been getting quick pop ups on my desktop screen and when I open Consol, here's what it says: 9/11/14 5:59:09.499 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501: (com.akamai.single-user-client[7490]) Bug: launchd_core_logic.c:4745 (26200):13
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall. -

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Note you cannot restore an IOS newer than the IOS on iPhone, you need to update iPhone first. -
it won't let me buy new apps for my ipod (3rd generation), everytime I click to buy one it says Apple ID disabled and sends me to the help and support page
Take a look at this Apple article out -> Apple ID: "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" alert appears
It looks like you'll have to fix this from the Apple ID site -> http://iforgot.apple.com/ -
Audio interface console (app) won't work on Mac Pro
Hello there!
I just bought a new Mac Pro and did a clean install of all my apps. Everything seems to be working fine except one thing: my audio interface's console.
I'm using an Audiofire 4 interface, which has little physical controls on it. I've been using its console software on my iMac and on my MacBook Pro to control it. Last night I installed the software from the CD on the Mac Pro and it won't work!
I launch the application from my home folder on my boot disk (SSD). I also tried installing it on the data HDD and still no luck: when I try to launch it it closes immediately. All my macs are on the same version of SN so that shouldn't be the problem.
Anyone has a few ideas? I use my computer a lot for music so this has to work or I may have to return to the iMac...
Thanks in advance!Update: this morning I installed the Audiofire Console successfully on my Windows partition (on another hard drive). I then came back to OSX (on my SSD) and this time the app, instead of immediately opening and closing, beachballed the whole system. The console gave me this:

Error Message in console re: com.apple.AddressBook.abd
I keep getting this error message:
1/6/10 4:19:41 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[352] (com.apple.AddressBook.abd) The following job tried to hijack the service "com.apple.AddressBook.abd" from this job: [0x0-0x16a16a].com.apple.AddressBook.abd
Any ideas what may be causing it and how I stop it? I get it about every 10 mins.I think I have read somewhere this is a "non issue" but I still get the error message in my console messages. Wish they'd fix that. It's hard enough to diagnose problems using console without having messages appear that don't mean anything.

MBP Will go to Sleep and Console Message: Throttling Respawn 10 Seconds
First, my MBP will not go to sleep. I have done an Archive and Install and that didn't fix it. I looked in my console and there is this repeated message that happens every 10 seconds.
12/7/08 1:28:42 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.x3.x3daemon[249]) posix_spawnp("/etc/.x3/x3d", ...): No such file or directory
12/7/08 1:28:32 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.x3.x3daemon) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
I have no idea what is going on and would love some help.I close the screen of the MBP and I wait for a moment
or two for the blinking (not entirely blinking but
the typical sleep-mode lighting that apple portables
have) sleep light to come up but the computer will
not go to sleep. This worries me because the hard
drive doesnt go to sleep either and the machine is
kept warm all the time it is supposed to be sleeping.
Additionally, when I wake up the computer by opening
the lid up, the light dims and remains lit without
nothing happening maintaining a typical black screen.
Then, I manually press space bar (or any key) to wake
up the computer and it gives me the blue screen for
two to three seconds. Then, it brings me back to
where it was left. And I find the computer in a state
where it is too warm.
Thanks,

From a cold boot, off, hold the P and R keys and the Option and Apple keys, all at the same time. Wait for 3 chimes and release keys.

Console.app Question . . .
I know my way around a Mac but not when it comes to stuff "under the hood" . . . I was recently uninstalling an app when it gave me an error message and suggested I check my console to see what went wrong. I checked it and was able to fix the problem but in doing so noticed a bunch of strange messages . . . at least they look strange to me. They may be perfectly normal but wanted to ask some of you pro's anyways. Here's what I'm getting a bunch of:
8/4/08 11:46:28 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.launchd.peruser.423[910]) PID 396 "lsregister" has no account to back it! Real/effective/saved UIDs: 423/423/423

This keeps repeating every minute. Is this an error message I should be concerned with or am I just being over cautious? Thanks in advance to everyone who comments.
TBHey VK - Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I used the installer to install and the uninstaller to uninstall. The App I'm referring to is Hazel. BUT, I also uninstalled Little Snitch the same way moments before. I would think the uninstallers should have safely removed everything but I know that's not always the case.
Library/LaunchAgents only has two plist files in it, one for an AJA app I have and the other for HP
Library/LaunchDaemons had 3 for Final Cut Server, 1 for istatmenu, 1 for openbase and 1 for DNSupdate.
~Library/LaunchAgents only had 2 plist files in it, both related to folder actions.
Should I delete the openbase plist in my system library? Thanks

Coreservicesd crash (com.apple.LaunchServices) screws up most running apps
I've been seeing crashes in the coreservicesd process that screw up most running apps and force me to restart the entire machine. When this happens, the Dock disappears and then reappears showing no running apps. The menu bar also gets stuck on a single app, even when I try to switch to another window with the mouse. The symptoms are very similar to those described at http://discussions.apple.com/thread/3289125, but I am on a MacBook Air running Lion 10.7.1.
Here's what gets logged to the system console:

Preview app fails to open any file, console log shows errors messages
Hi,
I backed up my old mac using TimeMachine and restored the TimeMachine image to my newly purchased iMac running 10.9.4. There were no errors during restoration, however when I try to open a file with the Preview app (such as a jpeg file), Preview app doesn't open the file and emits a variety of errors to the console log as below.
Is there a way to clear the state of the Preview app so I can fix this issue and use the Preview app to open images again? These image files open fine in Chrome, but I can't seem to use Preview to open any files.
Not sure if this is a bug with system restore or a bug in the new OS. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any advice.

-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 53421 Jun 28 01:33 /Applications/Preview.app/Contents/Resources/Base.lproj/PVPreferences.nibHi,
I tried both suggestions, but they didn't resolve the issue. Thank you both for trying to help.
The font tool was crashing when I tried to validate my font files. I looked and I didn't see the font in question listed in that tool. Crash stack is below.
I reinstalled the OS per Linc's instructions, but Preview still is crashing when opening a jpeg file. Crash stack is below.
Weirdly, most everything else seems to work okay: mail, safari, chrome, etc, all seem to function with no issue. The font tool isn't something I care about, but Preview app is something I use to review my pictures, etc.
Any other suggestions? Is there a good alternative app I should use in the meantime to replace Preview while I get to the bottom of the problem and resolve it?
Thanks,
Norm
