Console App Warning: accessing obsolete X509anchors.

I was trying to investigate a problem with SpamSieve when I looked in the Console App and found this warning associated with quite a few apps (mail, calendar, busysync, helpd, etc.)
There are no posts of recent vintage, and prior posts never concluded the cause of this error.
Should I be concerned?

No concern, you can safely ignore that message, it's not contributing to your problem.

My MBP has been stalling more and more in recent weeks. The symptom presents itself as everything freezing (including the clock) for several seconds to as many 15 or 20 and then suddenly everything starts working again. I've been checking the Console and I see an endless stream of error messages containing "
Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchor" and prefaced by an application name. The culprits include iCal, Safari, WebProcess, AddressBookSourceSync (pretty prevelant), iTunes, etc. Basically, any app that is communications related somehow. I looked in my Keychain and found a keychain named X509Anchors but it's empty.
Any thoughts? This is driving me crazy.

This one stumped me quite a while as I saw the same problem on my 10.5.x client. After some searching, I found that /Library/Preferences/com.apple.security-common.plist contained references to X509Anchors and X509Certificates. That was the only place I could figure that Keychain Access was finding them.
By the way, I found the references using Terminal as follows:
$ sudo grep -i -r X509Anchors /Library/Preferences/*
The file was last changed in 2005 so on a hunch, I renamed it to com.apple.security-common.plist.bak, then logged out and back in. I renamed it in the Finder.
And VOILA, when I opened Keychain Access, the funny round boxes and duplicate copies of login.keychain were all gone from the list and I had no more entries in the Console about accessing obsolete keychain X509Anchors!
Now if I could just merge my old keychain (accountname.keychain) into my login.keychain, then all would be really good.
Just as an aside, when I upgraded to 10.5 from 10.4, my finder Sidebar under Places was messed up with duplicate entries and a Desktop icon that didn't work right. I also found that when I deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.sidebarlists.plist that the problems went away.

I have been seeing multiple apps generating the error message "Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchors" and found this thread which had one solution:

However on my system I do not see the preferences file (com.apple.security-common.plist) that the solution refers to. Anyone have an idea of how to get rid of these? Sounds like it has something to do with the Keychain Access and older keychain files/format.

I'm getting the following message repeatedly in the console:
SystemUIServer[320] Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchors
Any thoughts on how to get it to go away?

is there something wrong with your menu bar? if not just ignore that message. trying to fix every console message is an exercise in futility.

Obsolete X509anchors? (Console message when apps launched)

Every time I launch an application this message is displayed in the system log (Console.app). Is this a problem that should be fixed? How?

Have obsolete X509anchors flooding Console - looking for ideas

My 2009 iMac (2Ghz Intel Core Duo with 4GB RAM) has been upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard (no clean install) I have noticed sporadic freezing and the only thing in the console shown is
/system/library/coreservices/systemUIserver.app/contents/macos/systemuiserver[11 0] Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchors.
This mac also has installed Office 2004, 2008 and then cleaned to install Office 2011. Long time ago I had Entourage but removed it (cleared application support and preferences as well)
Just looking for avenues to go down to try to clear up this error.

Does anyone have a suggestion or a resource they could refer me to that talks about doing mass changes in Discoverer.You should note that oracle doesn't support those kind of changes and you should test it very carefully.
Is there a way to do a mass update which would append the words "Obsolete Report" to all discoverer reports?A way i can think of is to update the underlying table but as mentioned before you should be very careful with it since it is unsupported.

*few issues you should pay attention to:
1. concatenating the "Obsolete Report" might go over the limit of the workbook name.
2. you should check the behavior of links (if you use those).

Obsolete X509Anchors warning.

Since installing Leopard, I have been getting frequent console messages on my MacBook Pro that various programs are "Accessing obsolete X509Anchors." I originally performed an upgrade install but have since performed a clean install with migration and am still having these warnings. I'm not seeing this on either my iMacG5 with Leopard or my wife's MacBook also running Leopard. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Console.app "All messages" view is empty

When I open the Console.app on my new MacBook Air, the "All messages" view is empty. I've tried deleting logs and fixing permissions, but to no avail. Any tips?

Yes, you've found one: it happens to me too. Got a new MacBook Pro today, transferred everything via Time Machine, and now I have a few things that don't work, but the Console is completely blank.
I'm guessing the "all" query tries to access some file I have no rights for. That could very well be, since I don't log in as admin. And sure, when I do log in as admin, I can see the logs. They're quite full, actually.

Console app crashes IE 5.5?

I installed WLS 6.1 SP1 and have run both the default server and the examples server.
Example webapps works fine, but when I try to access the console app this happens:
1. I browse to http://localhost:7001/console
2. I enter "system" for username and give the password I set up during install
3. In the statusline of the browser, I can see that something is happening...
4. ...and then the browser just closes!
I know that the password is correct - if I try an incorrect password, I get the
right error message.
No logging whatsoever is taking place in the weblogic.log, although something
must have caused IE to shutdown.
I'm using IE 5.5 SP2, 128bit version, with normal security settings (cookies are
allowed).
Any ideas???

Aha, I am having the same problem. My config is
Win2K SP2
IE6 (with latest security patch }-((
I also downloaded Opera 6.01 to eliminate the Security update problem. Alas.

Web Service Client(Console App) not working on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition

I am trying to consume an ASMX Web Service in a console app, its working fine in Windows 7,Windows Server 2012 Standard,Windows Server 2008 R2 DataCenter,Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, But its not working in Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition which
is the deployment server.
I tried consuming the ASMX web service using Web Reference and Service Reference as well but its not helping. Its throwing up the following error,
Message:There is an error in XML document (1, 331491).
Inner Exception : System.Xml.XmlException: '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 331491.
The scenario is that i call the web service and it returns me an XML i am not able to receive the XML on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition.
Please provide suggestions on this I need to resolve this ASAP.

Setting up Remote Desktop Apps for access from a Mac with 2FA.
I have a server 2012 remote access gateway, with remote apps published(which uses single signon), behind a 2FA connection (web based) and want to know if its possible to allow macs to connect to the remote Apps behind it. i cannot permanently remove any
of the above setup as it is a requirement.
When i connect from a mac i can login to both the 2FA and remote access web pages and see all the apps but when i click on any app it downloads it to the mac and when i try to run it using Remote Desktop App for MAC i get an error :
"httpendpointexception: 4, The non-proxy http connection failed to connect with the message: 500 internal Server Error."
I have tried with 2fa turned off for testing and get the same result.Does it support 2012 TSGW server? does it support Remote desktop apps? as i cant find a definitive answer on either.

From Error description it seems to be a communication issue between your Mac and your RD gateway server. If you connect from extranet, you may need Remote Desktop Gateway or a VPN/Direct Access connection to your intranet, or forward port 3389 on your router.
500 Internal Server Error seems to be a HTTP related error.
The HTTP status code in IIS 7.0, IIS 7.5, and IIS 8.0
Also, please double check the settings if you have a RD gateway implemented in you intranet.

Looking for mobile app to access my acct away fom home.

I just received a new smart phone and trying to set it up. Unfortunately it's not an iPhone. Is there an iTunes mobile phone app that is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S3 (Android) and will allow me to access and play music and audio books from my iTunes account library (not my downloaded music on my home pc)?
