Console Application to run with window open
Hi Guys
I have a Console Application that I wrote and it working perfectly when I run it manually. It can create report using Crystal Reports, exports to PDF and then print.
My challenge was when I ran it as a task, the reports are created but its not printing, my default PDF view is Adobe.
How can I run my app with the Window open because I think that's causing it not to print

After doing some searches it turned out the issue I had was with Adobe Reader XI, when run from Task Manager it always gives problems so.
I ended up using PDF XChange Viewer for printing and I can now print my PDFs with no Windows popoing up. I installed the free Viewer and call it from my code to print.

I have a Windows laptop running with Windows 7 (64 bits). i was using itunes normally. Few days ago I upgraded to 10.5.2. When I completed download and install process, itunes opened and got stuck.It says "Updating itunes library". What can I do?

The hub may not be broken per se, but Apple has made adjustments to the limits on current that can be drawn from ports.
You probably need a new hub.

Building a standalone Mac application with an application builder running on Windows?
I created a user interface which communicates with a cRIO System via TCP/IP. The user interface should run on multiple hosts consisting of windows PC's and Mac's. My LabView development system is running on Windows. So my question: is it possible to build a Mac application with an application builder running on Windows?

Can't write anything with javascript in a new window create dynamically with "window.open"
I develop a website and an application in html/css/javascript and i have a problem.
I need to open a new window with "window.open", and then change and modify the content dynamically with javascript in it. It works perfectly in Firefox 3.6 and lower but not in Firefox 4.
In Firefox 4, the window is created, but it stay white with "about blank" as name.
Do you have an idea of what I can do? Can I detect if the browser is Firefox 4, and if it is true, instead of "window.open", create a new tab? Can I change the content dynamically in it, and how?

If you want files to use later.. do not use TM.
Or do not use TM to the same location. Plug a USB drive into the computer and use that as the target for the permanent backup.

Tips, Tricks, and less known features in Revel (iOS)
VIEWING FILES:
From Library view, you can tap on SHOW and select to view the files by grid, dates, events, who they were added by, and by tags.
From Library view, tap and hold on the bar at the top of your screen (where the clock is) to go to the top of the library of photos.
From Library view, tap and hold on the library icon (bottom left icon) to go to the bottom of the library of photos.
From Library view, for dates, events, added by, and tags mode (found by tapping show and selecting one of these options), you can swipe down and near the top of the screen you will see choices for ALL, PHOTOS, VIDEOS. You can display all, just photos, or just videos by selecting the appropriate choice.
SELECTING FILES:
From Library mode, you can easily select several photos in a row. Tap on SHOW and select GRID mode.Tap on the arrow in the top right corner and select add to album, share, save to camera roll, or delete. Then swipe your finger across several photos to select them in a row. You can still scroll up and down and add more.
From Library mode, you can easily select all photos from a particular date. Tap on SHOW and select DATES mode.Tap on the arrow in the top right corner and select add to album, share, save to camera roll, or delete. Then tap on the grid of 9 squares to the right of the number of photos for that date. This will select all photos for that date.
CHANGE THE DATE OF A PHOTO:
From library view, you can touch and hold your finger on a photo to bring up a menu that allows you to change the date of the photo.
SETTING AN ALBUM COVER PHOTO:
- Select album view
- Select album
- In album, long press on a photo (touch and hold)
You will see an option to select the photo as the cover.
EDITING FILES:
After making edits on a photo,
if you touch and hold your finger on a photo after making some changes, you will get a context menu with otions to Cancel Changes, Revert to Original, and Duplicate Photo.
CLEARING CACHE:
If you have uploaded a ton of photos from your ios device, tapped a lot of photos view a larger image, or edited many photos, you might be able to reclaim some space on your device by clearing the cache. You can tap on the 3 parallel lines in the top left corner to get your list of Libraries, tap on the i inside the circle to the right of the library, and tap on CLEAR CACHE to reclaim some space. Your small thumbnails will remain since they don't take up a lot of space and can viewed quickly.
AUTOIMPORT
You can set your iphone or ipad so that it will automatically upload new photos, screenshots, and videos from your camera roll to revel. To set this up, tap on the 3 parallel lines in the top left of the screen. Then, tap on the gear for settings. You will see Import and Upload: Auto-Import. Tap on AUTO-IMPORT and choose which library you want to import into. Choose none to disable this. You have the option to autoimport videos also or to disable that choice. Slide the option to on if you wish to import videos also.
CAPTIONS
When you tap on a photo and go into loupe view, you can tap on the pencil icon to add a caption. This caption will display on the photo when it is viewed.
FAVORITES
When you tap on one photo or video to view it in loupe mode, you will see a heart in the bottom left corner. Tap on this heart icon to indicate that the photo is one of your favorites. If you share a library collaboratively (see link on sharing below) with your family or others, then they will get a notification (if enabled) that you have favorited a photo.
COMMENTS
When you tap on one photo or video to view it in loupe mode, you will see a speech bubble next to the heart in the bottom left corner. Tap on this icon to add a comment on the photo. If you share a library collaboratively (see link on sharing below) with your family or others, then they will get a notification (if enabled) that you have commented on a photo.
To delete a comment, swipe from right to left in the list of comments and then select delete to remove the one you want gone.
EVENTS
If you are in library view in date mode (found by tapping SHOW, DATES) tap the pencil icon to add an event name for the group of photos. When you ask to SHOW by EVENT, these will be displayed.
ACTIVITY VIEW:
If you tap the bullhorn icon on the bottom right of the screen, you will see activity view. This view shows recent activity in a library such as who added new photos, made comments on photos, put photos into an album, or marked a photo as a favorite, and when. This is particulary useful when you share a library collaboratively with family members and you want to see who did what.

- Select album view
- Move cursor over the album
You will see an edit icon appear in the upper right corner
- Select the icon
- Go into album and click on the photo that you want as the cover. It will then become the album cover

Adoberevel.com now has keyboard shortcuts in loupe view. Click on a photo to get into loupe view. In most cases when viewing both photos and videos, the following keyboard shortcuts are available:

'space' toggle play/pause
'home' seek video to start
'0' seek video to start

That also applies to photoshop cs owners as well.
The reason the specs say windows 2000/xp is because those were the current operating systems cs2 supported when released in 2005, well before windows 7.
Photoshop cs2 should work on windows 7, but as always there is no guarantee photoshop cs2 will work without some glitches on windows 7.
If your hesitate about trying it, you can always buy photoshop cs6 or subscribe to photoshop cc 2014, both of which are specified to work well on windows 7.

Save your process files outside of the NI progam directory (you should have external backups already right ). THey should not be deleted.
Any customizations to the lookout.ini and lookout.sec file may be lost.

Microsoft Windows 8.1 officially supports all currently supported Microsoft Office versions including Office 2013 / 2010 / 2007 / 2003 , and may be even earlier versions unofficially. I use Microsoft Office Professional Plus on my Windows 8.1 and it runs fine with no issues. Could you try what has already been suggested by others including Big_Dave and reinstall Microsoft Office with complete reboot/restart between uninstall/new installation <restart, not shut down and start over>. If this doesn't work, please post again if installation went fine, what exactly is the error code (if any), what is the problem exactly, any screenshots ?

I have an HP2840 running with Windows 7. Everytime I fax from the computer the print spooler STOPS.
I have to start, then stop, then start again everytime before any of my printers are available.
Is there a setting I need to change?it sounds to me that the print spooler is crashing. Typically if the spooler crashes, when restarted it will try and process the job in the queue. If it crashes again, the job will be purged from the queue.

The user encountered this pop-up message after she upgraded her browser to IE8. However, she's the only one having this error. Others who have switched to IE8 didn't encounter this error.

It applies to you if you use custom framework page other than standard framework page.
SAP can give you better response on why only one user gets it. In my scenario, we are able to consistently reproduce this.
And I guess most of the bugs will have similar statements attached 'it occurs only for one user'. -
Interfacing a C++ Console Application Genetic Algorithm with LabVIEW
Hi,
I am have recently modified the GENESIS genetic algorithm using C++ so that it runs on a Windows machine (before it only ran under UNIX). In my experimental work the aim is to control everything using LabVIEW, including this Genetic algorithm.
My problem comes from the fact that the Genetic Algorithm is set-up as a console application, a library file is created containing the input parameters of the VI, then this is joined with an evaluation function that is dependant on the library file an an executable is created.
I need to take some information collected from LabVIEW and give it to the genetic algorithm, but I don't know how to do this.
Any Ideas?

Alan HomerYou can run most applications from a command line using the location/application.exe (where the location is where the executable is stored), all c++ applications run using: int main (int argc, char **argv); where the argc is the number of arguments and argv is essentially a string table with the parameters passed to the program (will be used as code) the output if a command line application is the std out which can be piped to file or wired out from the standard out terminal. To pass parameters from your LV code to the command line you should know the parameter list (sometimes empty).

How can I close windows when quitting an application - but leave desktop windows open?
In Mavericks...
Is there any way to close the windows of application (when quitting - ie System Preferences => General) BUT not have this affect the finder application.
I want the windows I have opened in the finder to remain opened, but everything else to close upon quittingWell, for some time now (since I upgraded to Mavericks) my startup goes on and on.
It will, on occasion, finish correctly and I can go on with my work, but usually, it hangs.
I can restart the finder 2 or 3 times and get it to finish loading.
If I go into System Preferences => General => and turn “Close windows when quitting an application” on, then restart, the finder usually starts up faster and does not hang
Obviously, there is some operation that is running in the background that is trying to restore itself to some unknown state that is holding up the finder application.
I have uninstalled and turned off all sort of applications that run in the background, but have not yet been able to locate the culprit.
So, I’d like to be able to have “Close windows when quitting an application” on because everything else on the machine can revert to a clean start-up state -- but I want the windows I leave opened in the finder to remain opened and where I put them. -
Named Destinations with window.open
I have a ColdFusion application that opens a reference document to a specific point of reference. I had been using an html page with anchors for the reference document but would like to use PDF with named destinations.
The code I am using is from a button click event:

The reflink variable would be something like "myreference.html#myanchor for html and "myreference.pdf#mydestination" for pdf.
The code works fine for html. The click event pops the window and displays the anchor location. Another event will refresh the existing open window with the new location.
With the pdf, the first click works correctly. The second click clears the document view to blank and the first window is effectively hung. If I click again, a new window is opened and the first window remains blank.
If I don't use named destinations, the window is refreshed each time with the pdf file and the not hung. So the problem only occurs when there is a named destination in the URL. But I need named destinations to zoom to the reference location.
This occurs with IE 8.
When I use Firefox, the behavior is different. The window pops correctly, but after the first attempt, it does not navigate to the correct named destination. Any subsequent click event results in the pdf file staying at the existing location.Yes, I think you're right. I tryed the same in the HTML-protocol and it works: example:
