Console in Vista for X-Fi Extreme Mu

OK, I may have missed this somewhere, but can anyone tell me how to get to the console in Vista. Does the one from XP still work with the EQ and stuff. I much prefer that interface over the only one?I am able to find in Vista. I am having Mic issues with my gaming stuff and that console is much easier to deal with and adjust... Thank you if anyone can help me!!! :robothappy:

It's still in BETA mode for the drivers in Vista and is missing lots of stuff. I would like that console too "Creative Volume Panel". Just maybe, and I mean MAYBE! creative might make those and many other programs available in Vista. Wishful thinking...Message Edited by freesky on 03-04-200708:35 PM

  • SB Titanium Console on Vista Ult

I have a question regarding the Console Software for the Titanium. I currently have an On Board X Fi Extreme Audio. With XP, the Console give you headphones options that let you choose whether to go into auto-headphone mode or run both the speakers and headphone output at the same time. I just installed Vista Ultimate and the Console software version does not give this option.
Does the same hold true for the Titanium's Console with Vista or is it similarly decapitated? I'm not too thrilled about going back to XP to regain the feature that I was planning to use quite often.
    Thanks

The On-board audio is X-Fi Extreme Audio, so it uses that driver/console software.
What I am referring to is the ability to Enable/Disable Headphone Mode from console with an additional box to check for muting the speakers automatically during headphone mode. This was available with the XP drivers for Extreme Audio. It is NOT available under Vista, which I recently installed. I want to be able to run the speakers AND the headphones at the same time. With Vista it automatically shuts off the speakers when you plug into the headphone jack with no way to have both on.
I am planning to purchase the Fataliy Titanium so I really want to know if this feature is restored under Vista.

  • Drivers/Utilities CD..XP and VISTA..can I use vista for WIN7 64 bit install?

Drivers/Utilities CD's, that came with the p-35 Motherboard..XP and VISTA..can I use Vista for WIN7 64 bit install, or download the chip set drivers for Awin7 BEFORE the OS install??
    MSI P-35 Platinum
    Q6600 Core 2 Quad
    Presently XP 32Bit
    NVidia geforce 8600GT
    8GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400-800MHz
    Windows 7..waiting to be installed.
    Hello,
I WANT TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL.I have Windows 32 Home XP, I have the Win7 OEM I want to install.
When i bought my MSI mobo, it came with both the drivers and utilities for XP and Vista.   Can I use the chip set drivers and utilities for Vista, until i can go to MSI and download the latest chip set drivers?  When do i install these drivers....before the OS install, or after?
Can I format these drives first, go in the BIOS change to boot sequence from Raptor Boot Drive to the DVD/Rom to boot the WIN7 from, or should I format while installing Win7?
Someone on another forum suggested that 1) disconnect the two droves, then install the OS on the boot drive, and2) before win7 install, make the proposed boot drive (NOT THE DVD/CD ROM the first choice priority for the boot sequence....is this right?
Is it absolutely necessary to unplug the other two drives, while formatting and installing the WIN7 O.S.?  People tell me that there is a chance of the OS installing sometimes on the other drives.
Also, if I want to change the now present boot drive Local disk letter (C) to my storage drive (G) and the other two drive letters, can I do this in manage disks, anytime, or only during windows setup install?
    Thx

I've never had this much trouble hooking up a HDD.
I have two IDE DVD/CD ROMS.  (My RAID MODE was IDE in XP OS, and still is with WIN7.)
           I have three SATA HDD's.
After unplugging the SATA 2TB HDD while I installed the WIN7 OS on the 500 GB HDD (it was on the 74 RAPTOR, but I moved location, and made absolutly sure nothing went on my raptor)
So today I decided to re-hook up the 2TB Storage HDD, and when I did, I went into bios, and to the cell menu, and LOAD ALL DEFAULT SETTINGS, so it could see my newly installed HDD,which I had all my backup Data from the previous HDD. I also checked and the RAID MODE was IDE, and the boot sequence was the WDC 500GB Boot/OS drive, rebooted, then I got that annoying blanked out screen with that blinking cursor, so I got back into the bios, and changed the 1st boot to the IDE Pioneer DVD/CD ROM, 2nd boot to the 500GB HDD, and rebooted again..still got that blinking cursor.
I opened up the Mobo, checked and replugged all SATA, and power cables to the three HDDS, tried it again, then still got the blinking cursor.  Seems no matter what I change in the boot sequence,it never wants to boot properly
    ....AND THEN,
I started with TAB > POST> started WINDOWS, then once it opened up, I went to manage Disks, saw all three HDDs were online and healthy.  Win. Explorer also listed them in that folder, in device manager, it listed all three too.
     The managed window showed this:
    74GB    (system,active,Primary partition)                       Storage
    2TB     (Primary partition)                                           Excessive Storage
500GB  (Boot, page files,crash-Dump, Primary partition)   Operating system
Both the PCI IDE BusMaster and ON-Chip SATA Controller were both ENABLED.
Before I just got online, I tried RESTART, and it opened Windows the usual way,  so I hope I don't have any more problems. It worked fine BEFORE I just plugged in the 2TB HDD back in.
I pretty much did what everyone suggested, except for leaving in the 74GB Raptor when I installed WIN7, which prompted me to format the drive prior to installing the OS.  Also, when I changed the IDE, RAID,and AHC1, to the AHC1 Mode, just before I installed Window7, like a few suggested, I also had problems, so after the install, I went back and changed it back to IDE.  My Floppy was an IDE, but I removed it from my system, and disabled in BIOS, but even a few times I went into Bios and saw that thje floppy was 1st Boot, even though I changed to either the DVD/CD Rom, or the 500GB boot drive.
So what is the preferred boot sequence?

  • FCP X keeps looking for my airport extreme harddrive, HELP

    HI,
Okay, I have an airport extereme, with a 1tb hard drive connected to it.  I used final cut pro x 10.0.3 to connect to it. Using the import camera archive (i had footage on the drive)
Now, unless i'm at home on my home network, or have the hard drive plugged into my mac when final cut pro x is running, every minute a pop up box comes up saying "There was a problem connecting to the server "base1fool"  (base1fool is the name of my airport extreme)  It is making the program unuasable!!!  I even uninstalled it, using app cleaner, and reinstalled 10.0.4 and still have the same problem!!
    Please help
    Brooks

Run Airport Utility to see if there are any firmware updates for your Airport Extreme, also run Software Update. If both are up-to-date then your issue may be with your ISP or the neighborhood your are in has too many WI-FI networks all fighting for the same channel. First do a DNS Settings Update and then check, if that doesn't help then download and install iStumbler (Google it) to check the networks in your area. If you see a channel conflict with neighbors then use Airport Utility to change the Airport Extreme's channel to one not being use.

Setting up new ipad 2. Won't accept my PW for my Airport Extreme (Wi Fi network?)  Where is the PW for my Wi Fi? I am stymied. Can I set up through my MacBook Pro, which IS connected to my WiFi network?

If you could provide the make and model number of the modem that the AirPort Extreme will be connecting to, we can likely tell you a bit more about what to expect in the way of getting the AirPort set up and working.
Unfortunately, "plug and play" does not apply here. You will need to set up and configure the AirPort Extreme using your iPad or iMac to name the AirPort as a device, assign a device password, name the wireless network, assign a device password and a few other things.
Once the AirPort Extreme is set up, you can connect the PC to one of the LAN <--> ports on the AirPort Extreme using an Etherent cable.
The iPad and iMac will connect to the wireless network that the AirPort Extreme provides.

I have already bought a macbook pro in USA and I want to use it in Europe. What adapter I need for my Airport Extreme?

No power adaptor is needed as the power units are auto-switching. But you will need wall outlet adaptors such as you will find in Apple's World Travel Kit, at AAA stores, and other vendors.

  • CATALYST 2820, console port config for modem

    Hi,
I’m a 2nd semester CCNA student, and I purchased a old CATALYST 2820 switch for training purposes. I do not know the password and the console port has been configured for a modem. I thought that it would be easy to reset the password—but cannot find any way to do it with the 2820, and the console port configured for a modem.
Does anyone know what the default factory password is? If the password has been changed (from the factory default), how can I reset the system?
    Thanks!

    I appreciate your help!
I did look at that link several times—my 2820 has a mfg. date of Sept 97. I held in the Mode button, but the LED above port 1x does not come on (held it in for over a minute). I never see any info. using the console port.
I did try attaching a modem to the console port—it works—I get a login prompt. I don’t know if it is the factory default password. I know that the rollover cable is working—tried a 827-4v.
    Am I doing something wrong???
    Thanks, David

  • What is the proper config for the Airport Extreme when a Voice over IP device is between the cable modem and the router.

What is the proper config for the Airport Extreme when a Voice over IP device is between the cable modem and the router.  Its a VoIPo device. The cable modem is connected to the VoIP WAN port and the LAN port on the device feeds the Airport Extreme.  The VOIP is working fine, and my Mac are getting 10. addresses from the Airport Extreme.  But I do get confict messages and lose my connection periodicaly.  Looking for help.

    Its a VoIPo device.
Per chance, is this device the Grandstream HT502?

  • Can I connect a device to get added LAN ports for my Airport Extreme?

Can I connect an added device to my styetem to get added LAN ports for my Airport Extreme Router system?
    Mark Edwards

Connect a Gigabit Ethernet switch to any of the 3 Ethenret ports on the AirPort Extreme to add as many ports as you need.
Switches come in 5-port, 8-port, 16-port, etc versions.
Your local computer/electronics superstore will have what you need.

My Smart TV is asking for my Airport extreme security key, where do I find this?

You can find this via the AirPort Utility, as follows:
    Run the AirPort Utility.
Select your AirPort Extreme, and then, select Edit.
From the utility's menu bar, select Base Station, then Show Passwords...
The security key will be the second item, labled: WPA Pre-Shared Key for "<your network name>"

  • Creative Console Launcher XFi for Win7

Does anybody have a clue as to if/when creative labs will release Win7 compatible Creative Console Launcher Programs for the X-Fi Cards?
This thread is intended particularly to be responded by a CL forum admin!

I understand that you wanted an Admin response. KokChoy has responded so I wanted you to know that I am using the latest console launcher download for the card and it has worked in Windows 7 very very well. If you are wanting a "Certified" one, you are wasting your time as 2.62.00 works with no compatibility issues for me.

  • Hourly popup saying there's an update for my AirPort Extreme, when all of my AirPort devices are running the latest firmware. Any fix?

I keep getting a popup saying there's an update for my Airport Extreme, but all of my Airport devices (I have the Extreme, which is one of the original cone-shaped ones, as my base station, two Time Capsules running in bridge mode connected by Ethernet, and an Airport Express [original model] connected via wireless) are running the most recent firmware for each device.
It's harmless but extremely annoying. Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried re-uploading the firmware to all four Airport devices, but it didn't help. Is there any way to turn off the automatic checking? It's obviously not working right in any case.

I assume that you have already done the basic things like powering off the entire network and restarting.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities >  AirPort Utility
Select the AirPort Extreme, and click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab located below the row of icons
Click Options near the bottom of the next window
Remove the check mark next to "Check for firmware updates"
Click Done, then click Update and wait for the AirPort Extreme to restart.

  • What is the AC classification (1200 - 3200) for the AirPort Extreme?

WHat is the AC classification (1200 - 3200) for the AirPort Extreme?

Not sure that I understand your question.
The AirPort Extreme does not support AC3200 if that is what you are asking.
1300 Mbps is the theoretical maximum speed of an "ac" wireless connection on the AirPorts.

  • I am trying to find the network security key for my airport extreme router

I am trying to find the network security key for my airport extreme so I can hook up my pc lap top.

I am afraid that the "key" will be of no use to you (it is 64 characters long).....but I hope I am wrong.
Since you indicate that you are using an iPad, I assume that you are also using AirPort Utility on the iPad.
On the iPad home screen, tap AirPort Utility
    Tap on the AirPort Extreme
    Tap on Edit
    Tap on Advanced
    Tap on Show Passwords
Tap on Main Network and "key" will be revealed
