I was having this same issue oh..i'd say round 6pm ET Sunday...no problem anymore, because my mac has been totally wrecked by whatever this is....got in and started activating webservers pumping out info left and right. at this point i am hoping to preserve my music folder, the rest is trash. almost every file. this morning the filename of almost every process running in activity monitor ended in 'd' as in lookupd, blued.
anyone else?
btw...airport has been "off" since sunday...switched to hardwire...cable modem off since early this morning and im still pumping out and receiving data like crazy. Bluetooth? share files set to off..but it keeps changing on its own.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I found a fix for it, It turned out that the file that lists all of the songs on it got corrupt. I had to use 3rd party programs but it did work out in the end

and i'm having all kinds of authentication issues with this server to begin with...during the day it will just stop authenticating and I have to restart!

Re: incorrect digest response
I just saw that log entry being spewed out constantly for the first time. Looking in Password Server log, I found entries that roughly correlated - a user authentication failing with SASL error -13 (password incorrect). The user was on a system we had just reimaged for Tiger. The console log on that system showed entries from the LDAP plugin with constant attempts to authenticate using a cleartext password. The client system seemed to be OK, though, and was mounting its network home correctly. I could not find anything that would be legitimately trying to connect.
Long story short, I deleted and recreated the LDAP server entries in Directory Access. Problem solved. Hope this helps.

Console Log Error: org.ntp.ntpd

Checking my Console Error Logs I came across this listed.

I did some checking and found that this has to do with the Date & Time preferences...
Every time I click on the Date & Time to choose a different location to "set date & time automatically", that error shows up in the console...
I tried reinstalling the org.ntp.ntpd with a fresh copy but that did not work.
This file lives in System/Library/LaunchDaemons
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this console log problem?

Upon further examination of my other computers, they all have it...
One computer was an upgrade to Leopard.
One computer was an Archive and Install and NOT preserve user settings.
One computer is brand new Aluminum 20" with Leopard already installed.
Apparently this need to be fixed by Apple because this was also on the brand new computer.
I assume that everyone is going to have this in their console....

Single bit error in X2200 and rebooting frequently

I have X2200 M2 server rebooting frequently with single bit error with amber led in the memory with one cpu location but if i swap that error will go and there is no amber led system is running fine but frequently i am getting same issue.
I am using the applications simulators like hspice64, spectre, ultrasim64
system configuration is linux rhel 4 update 4 32gb memory.
is it a bug or any hardware compatibility issue is there in that application or box kindly let me know.

Upgrade the ilom and BIOS frimware to latest if its low . Run PC check utility by downloading from www.sun.com and if the problem remains the same log a ticket with Sun for further investigating . collect the logs from ILOM and IPMI prior to logging the ticket .

I have downloaded a few widgets, upgraded to firefox 2.0.0.1 and after veifying permissions and repairing them, after i restarting and cheking again, they keep appearing as if i never repaired them.
Is this normal?

I have read the thread and it's a relief that all the permissions change because of intego startup applications. So meanwhile, the computer startup time is slower until apple correct the issue through a patch in apple's utility disc right? Or how may i correct slow startup problem? I only have "antispam engine" and "AdobeResourceSynchronizer" apps at start up.

Help, my iTouch 5 is stuck on the highest brightness, with option for auto-brightness. I've tried restoring, restarting and rebooting.

This burns battery way too fast, causes it to heat up fast, and is overall incredibly annoying.

The 5G iPod does not a Autobrightness. It does not have an ambient light sensor.
See if the following will allow you to adjust the brightness
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

How fast and powerful are these new 24" 2.8 fully loaded beasts?

are these new imacs fast? can they handle GB 08 and CS3?
im trying to compare this new 24 inch ( 2.8 GHZ) beast with all the RAM in it to a G5 desktop quad or DP 2.5 all with plenty of RAM.
Does the new IMAC speed through Garageband ( 20 tracks of data ) or Photoshop CS3 with 50 MB files?
is it a new beast to contend with or just a little prettier and more featured? or is this now a computer that will tolerate lots of data without slowing down or choking on big size files?
I would love a mobile ( in the car out of the car perse ) unit that will step up to the task.

I ordered the standard config on the Apple store....it came with 2 gb of ram. I wa suprised I didnt have to upgrade anything. I took that as a sign..LOL. I got mine the 14th. Not bad for a new computer. After reading all the posts here I was a bit concerned getting a new model, but so far no problems. I also use an Airport extreme with gagabit ethernet so everything feels really fast.
I hope your computer is a flawless as mine. The only recommendation I have is to make a good backup of your old system before you get your new one. It will allow you to choose what to move over and what to trash from your old system.
Also, get some sunscreen for sitting in front of that 24" monitor

My Final Cut X changed behaviour after conneting the external monitor via HDMI. Several times after restarting Final Cut X was very slow and it always kept repeating rendering on same three clips after every restart. Later the dual screen icon disapeared on the top of my screen and it stops rendering on every restart like before and the machine was normal and faster. Now Final Cut won't start anymore whenever I start it loads and crushes immediately on every restart.
