Console Message - any clues to the cause?
Anyone have any clues as to what the console messages below are telling me? I want to kill the application or process causing the error, but so far my efforts to find the cause has failed.

all one can say that application Lifeboat has created some launch daemon to automatically perform some tasks and that launch daemon is failing because it can't execute properly as some directory path is listed incorrectly. beyond that it's impossible to say without knowing more about the application, what it does and how it's configured to do it.
I've searched for the Lifeboat app and found some traces in the Library which I deleted, but the error persists. Obviously there are more traces of the Lifeboat app somewhere, I just need to search. Any suggestions for search tools or a methodology?

I can't believe it!! But this answers my question. I pair up quickly between my iphone5 and iMac, but cannot transfer pics from my iphone to the iMac over Bluetooth as I expeceted I would easily be able to do. After all, I did this with my old Mac and a simple Motorola cell phone years ago.
So, the answer is that file transfer from iphone5 is not supported. Really!!
Not sure why capabilites have regressed, this is disappointing, but thanks for the answer, at least I know to stop beating my head against the wall searching for some hidden box to check. This seemed like such an obvious capability between Apple devices I couldn't understand why I was having such difficulty. It seemed like it would be seamless, but it can't be done. Baffling. -

Compression depends on repetativeness of characters within the file. If it can't map those, it won't compress. Images and programs are much harder to compress for that reason, as they both are basically binary constructs. Some image software compresses looking at common lines and points of the same color. Audio files look for the same frequency. Most video formats are already compressed to some extent except full DV.
And files with DRM get even more dicy, since you really can't bypass the DRM which itself is binary code, not to mention not allowed to be copied. This forum can't discuss such issues due to the DMCA rules. As long as it isn't copyright, what are you trying to compress? -

I am getting an unexpected shut down of iMovie when I try to share a movie from a project that is made up of still pictures, one video clip and music. Have tried to create the movie several times with different formats and continue to get the message. When I removed all music I was able to create the movie without a problem but when I added the music back, I was unable to create the movie. I'm using iMoive 11' version 9.0.9

BillI'm no expert in iMovie, but I've found that processing memory (as well as sheer hard disk space for the project to 'turn around in') can be a big issue with constructing, editing, and distilling projects in iMovie. I've improved the success by moving 2gb of image files off to an external drive, but only really got moving again on an hour-long project by doubling RAM and again freeing up h/d space.
Some tunes are also an issue, but if you can see it in the iTunes list to place in your project, it should work okay... Does the project run with any other piece of music, or does just that one tune mess it up?

My text tone tries to play twice when i get one message, any clue why?
Everytime I get a text or any other message, the ring tone plays double, it starts to play then immediately starts again. Any ideas what to do?

Macbook pro has no sound, any ideas on the cause?
My macbook pro crashed while watching a video and since then has not had any sound coming from the speakers, although it did emit the startup sound when I restarted it.
One of these steps may help.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2. Remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
Audio Devices window
Side Bar
Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it. -

I have a 2 different customers (or prospects) who are unable to launch into a WebEx web session. As these are potential customer our ability to troubleshoot with them is limited. Heres what we find:
. Using Windows OS (version unknown)
They were using IE as well as Google Chrome during our test (versions unknown)
We did verify that they were capable of reaching the internet
After launching the "join meeting" URL, the end user had several errors (as we tried to launch in Google Chrome as well as IE):
Setup unsuccessful, error 104, error 103, run a temporary application, setup unsuccessful
Any help or direction would be appreciated!

I am tyring to sync my ipod but i am getting the message - Idpod cannot be synced becasue it cannot be found - I did the diagontics test and all is ok. Any clues?

I can not download quicktime 7.7.3 for windows vista. The error message says that there is a problem with the windows installer. Any clues?

Are these console messages a problem?
I am seeing console messages that I have not seen before. I am not having any problems that I know of, but these 3 types of messages (from multiple apps) keep popping up in my console:
MDS Error: unable to create user DBs in /var/...
Could not initialize source from /Users/...
Found source of class (null), but no such class was found.
Any ideas of the cause? Are they indicative of real problems? Sample console output below:

I'd verify/repair your HD and also use the 'reset home folder permissions and ACLs' feature found within the 'reset password' utility, while booted from the 10.6 dvd, then repair permissions while booted from your regular HD. -

In Console messages I was finding the following along with error -1708:
.sdef warning for argument 'FileType' of command 'save' in suite 'Standard Suite': 'saveable file format' is not a valid type name.
So, I thought I'd change the save line as follows:
save document 1 as "QuickTime movie" in thePath
While this didn't solve the problem, it threw an error and allowed the script to continue with the error dialog rather than hang.
Interestingly, though, the Snow Leopard machine seems to register the same error and yet still manages to save the file correctly.
Any thoughts?

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue when attempting to connect to a wireless network.
Have you changed the router for a new one?
Make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Make sure that you are with in the 4'-20' range.
You can try the HP Print and Scan Doctor as well. Let me know if you see any error codes or messages.

We are trying to read large amount of data using "Select" of DB Adapter. I wanted to know if there is any limit to amount of records that can be returned in 1 message?
We have tried for 30K so far and no issues - but any clues on the threshold?Hmmm...I dont think there is a restriction for reading data from tables.
I have fetched more than 65k data and it ran successfully.
