Console message repeats itself

Hi!
Got a problem with the console living a life on its own,- a message keeps repeating itself. Think I had a similar problem with a Canon scanner.
Looking for devices matching vendor ID=1193 and product ID=8719
Looking for devices matching vendor ID=1193 and product ID=8719
Looking for devices matching vendor ID=1193 and product ID=8719
Well, anyone know how to kill it or make it behave, it repeats itself every other second, so in a few weeks time ....well caching up I guess.
Thanks!

You need to uninstall the Canon software.

  • Console message repeating systemuiserver invalid kmditempath

I found a similar question here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11514792?searchText=Console%20message%20re peating%20systemuiserver%20invalid%20kmditempath#11514792
    But my problem is different.
I was writing an iPhone app for a client.  One of the images the client provided strangely appeared in my finder window under favorites.  I don't remember placing there, but when I saw it, I dragged it out of the finder to remove it.
After that, I remembered the project was finished, and dragged it to a 'completed projects' folder.
Now (some time later) I'm seeing this console message repeat over and over:
    SystemUIServer: Invalid kMDItemPath for TheApp.app
    SystemUIServer: Invalid kMDItemPath for (null)
    SystemUIServer: problem with path ???
    Any way to remove this?

If you've moved any of those applications out of the Applications folder, put them back. Then do as follows.
    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Spotlight ▹ Privacy
The list of items excluded from Spotlight indexing is shown (it may be empty.) Click the plus (“+”) icon to add an item to the list. Select your volume (under DEVICES) and add it to the list. Then remove it from the list by selecting it and clicking the minus (“-“) icon.
Spotlight will rebuild the index. If you try to do a Spotlight search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, a pulsing dot will appear in the icon. When the dot disappears, the indexing is complete.

  • Every time I install Flash Player 14 and open my browser I get the message asking me to allow Adobe Flashruntime. I allow it and the message repeats itself constantly. My OS is WIN7 64 bit. My browser is IE11.  I cannot view any videos

I would appreciate any assistance with this matter.

I  resolved the problem by doing an uninstall and reinstall of IE11. I guess that was the problem all along. Got to love IE.

  • I keep getting this Console message, constantly repeating. What does it mean and how do I fix it?

This Console message repeates endlessly. I suspect this may be one of the reasons this machine is running slowly? In any event, doesn't seem normal to have an endlessly repeating error message.
    7/21/13 3:51:38 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (scManagerD[81914]) posix_spawn("/Applications/SafeConnect.app/Contents/MacOS/scManagerD", ...): No such file or directory
    Any help is appreciated.

You have something installed called "SafeConnect?" Or did you remove it but not use the uninstaller?
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper 2.0.1
        2. AppDelete 3.2.6
        3. Automaton 1.50
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner 2.1.0
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash 1.8.2
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller 1.15.1
      10. Spring Cleaning 11.0.1

  • Repeating Console Message 10.6.5 on MacBook Air (Late 2010)

I just finished setting up the system on a new MacBook Air (13" 1.83ghz). I'm getting the following console message that repeats every 10 seconds. How can I stop it? Thanks.
    12/22/10 6:01:29 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.batteryd[487]) Exited with exit code: 1

My parents new 13'' MacBook Air (late 2010) would not fall asleep. After resetting the SMC to no avail I checked the console and saw the exact same message. After deleting the plist and rebooting the machine it is falling asleep now.
I never installed any third-party program relating to the battery and there is a folder called /usr/local however there is no sub-folder libexec nor did a "locate" in Terminal find the daemon batteryd.
Came across a similar thread on the Japanese Apple discussion forum (clicky). Since I cannot read Japanese I can only guess at what the various posts say. There seems to be talk about it being an Apple software related issue specifically regarding the HAL.
I checked on my MacBook Pro (mid 2010) and there is no such plist. Will check another 13'' MacBook Air when I get the chance.
If you delete the file com.apple.batteryd.plist in the folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons and reboot the machine the message in the console will go away.

  • Safari Console Message // OS 10.5.6 crashing

My Powerbook G4 freezes up several times per day ONLY if Safari is running.
I have run Apple Hardware Test in loop mode for 24 hours
I have also run third part memory utils for 24 hours to rule out bad memory
I have performed an archive and install
I have downloaded Safari separately and installed from that .dmg
I have used Onyx to update/rebuilt prebindings
Here is the message from CONSOLE.APP. It repeats itself over and over:
    1/14/09 12:17:52 PM com.apple.launchd[93] (com.apple.Safari[3197]) Exited with exit code: 1
    1/14/09 12:33:30 PM com.apple.launchd[93] (com.apple.Safari) Throttling respawn: Will start in 12 seconds

    1/14/09 12:33:44 PM com.apple.Safari3215 YES
Those YES/NO messages are connected with MobileMe/.Mac synching. They're probably unrelated to the issue but if you want to double check, turn off the synching features via System Preferences > MobileMe.
Have you tested to see if you have the same problems when logged into another user account? The Archive & Install may have just preserved any user-specific problems so checking the other account could be useful in diagnosis.

  • Background image is slightly repeating itself in my table

Last week, someone really helped (Murray) in helping me add a
background image to my header table, then nesting another table
inside for my links. I tried to do it manually, however, it just
wouldn't work. He then added some new code and it worked perfectly!
However, I did notice that now the background image in that table
doesn't extend the full length of the table. It cuts of 1/8th of an
inch short and then the image starts to repeat itself. It isn;t
much but doesn't look clean. Any ideas on how to change it to
flush? I tried to manuever the main table of the site over, but it
didn't have an effect. I think the background image just stayed the
same with the change. Thanks for your help once again! Code is

  • Invalid SOS parameters Console message on import?

I imported my iPhoto 11 library the other day and there were no error messages from Aperture 3.1 itself, but when I checked my Console messages, I had about 30 messages like this:

Anybody have any idea that "Invalid SOS parameters for sequential JPEG" means, and if I should be concerned? As you can see, no hint in the message as to WHICH image it refers to, so I can only imagine importing a few events at a time to try to track down where it is happening, if it is something to be worried about.
    Thanks,
    Karl

I imported my iPhoto 11 library the other day and there were no error messages from Aperture 3.1 itself, but when I checked my Console messages, I had about 30 messages like this:
    1/16/11 11:43:14 PM [0x0-0x122122].com.apple.Aperture[2821] Sun Jan 16 23:43:14 KarlMacPro.local Aperture[2821] <Error>: Invalid SOS parameters for sequential JPEG
That's coming from the JPEG decoding software. SOS stands for *start of scan*. A sequential JPG is an image where all the data flows from top to bottom as opposed to a progressive scan JPG were the data is interlaced.
Anyway to make a long story short, it could indicate that the software encountered corrupted JPG images. Its not a fatal error in the sense of causing a program failure just possibly an image or images that may not display or display correctly.
You could search the console logs to see if the message ever showed up from iPhoto. At this point there isn't to much you can do about it. If your library isn;'t to big you could try and give a quick look at the JPG files to see if anything looks amiss.

  • New FM Console messages

    Hello Framers:
Using TCS (FM 8.0p277 and RH 7.03.001) on Vista Home Premium
I was exploring the fminit file a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think I changed anything, but now when I open the structure view of a FM file, the console displays the message: MIF: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 8\fminit\fmstruct\strwin"(1):Skipped (message repeats 3 times). My files do not seem to be affected, but I feel that I have inadvertently changed something I shouldn't have.
Also have been experimenting with importing a FM file to RH (by reference) to create html. The console displays: C:\AppData\Local\Temp\MIFTMP1\Mif00004.mif"(1913): Value of Separation out of range (8). Does anyone know what "Value of Separation out of range" refers to? The screenshots (tifs imported into FM file by reference) appear as blank spaces in RH. Not sure if the message is related to that, so perhaps this is a RH forum question?
I tried doing a search of this forum for clues to these messages and couldn't find anything. Any help or direction would be appreciated.
    Janice

I'm evaluating Tech Comm Suite 2 on Windows XP SP2 and getting a similar MIF message when updating my RoboHelp project from the FrameMaker book it's linked to:
'MIF: "C:\Documents and Settings\...\LocalSettings\Temp\MIFTMP\Mif00002.mif" [755]: Value of Separation out of range [8].'
Three of these messages appear, with the only differnce between them being the value between the square brackets (shown as [755] above).
My graphcs have transferred over without a problem. However the Frame TOC is not transferred properly. Only the contents from 2 of the 4 Frame documents included in the book are converted in RoboHelp. Not sure if this is related to the MIF messages I'm getting?

when i was in the preferences i noticed that i had 2 different files labeled com.apple.dock but the one difference was that one of the extensions was .plist like you said but there was also another with .db what does this mean?
Leave the the .db (database) file alone, for now at least. Mine's empty, but there may be something important in yours.
also could u elaborate more on adding .old should i add it before or after the extension?
It doesn't really matter; you're doing this only to "hide" it from the Dock app, so it will make a new, default, one when you restart. Hopefully, that will fix the problem and you can delete the old one.
But you don't want to lose track of it. If the problem isn't fixed, you can delete the new one and revert to the old one by just renaming and restarting again.

  • Slow time machine, console messages: mdworker: unable to talk to lsboxd, and mdworker 32:kCGErrorFailure:set a breakpoint@CGErrorBreakpoint()

    iMac: model indentifier: iMac11,3
    processor: 3.2GHz intel core i3
    Software: OSX lion 10.7.5
Current problem: Time machine running extremely slowly as is computer. When time machine is "preparing to update" if I attempt to open any drive, that function freezes the computer.
I followed web advice to check for console message:  mdworker: unable to talk to lsboxd.  Found that to be present.  As recommended, I turned off computer, restarted in safe mode, logged in and restarted computer.  checked console, I see this same message and another message that may be problematic: mdworker: 32: kCGErrorFailure: set a breakpoint@CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch srrors as they are logged.
Both these messages being recorded every few minutes in the console log.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
    thank you,

    Hello Mr Davis,
Thanks for your willingness to help I really appreciate your assistance.
I decided to watch what was happening a bit more to see if I could discern a pattern to the problem so that I could pose a more refined question.
This am, after the computer was left on all night, I noticed time machine (TM) was running.  I opened the console window, and noted after entering "starting" in the search field corresponding to "all messages"  that hourly, there is a notation:
date, time, then "starting standard backu" followed by date, time and starting post backup thinning".
However, then there is the entry below at 12:25:46am referring to "starting standard backup" and there is no subsequent entry in the log referring to thinning having occured.  I wonder if this corresponds to TM running now and I am guessing, ever since 12:25:46 am?
Once again, it seems that the problem is that when TM is running in this fashion, the computer slows down tremendously and operating particular programs such as photo processing lightroom that require more power, become very slow in particular.
I copied and pasted a section of the log as it seems to repeat the same sequence of information over and over all night long.  I did not copy and paste the entire log since 12:25:46 am, as I wanted to not paste an excessive amount of lines here, but can do that if you like.
I hope I followed your directions correctly. thanks again, Jeff

  • Console message and system.log

    Hi,
in the console system.log always apear this message every 30 second:
    +Feb 16 02:22:55 Macintosh SystemUIServer[346]: Error: ACInterfaceGetPower() called with invalid interface+
    +Feb 16 02:23:25: --- last message repeated 5 times ---+
and every 5 second this other message:
16/02/08 02:40:55 SystemUIServer[346] Error: ACInterfaceGetPower() called with invalid interface
.. and the message look like an infinite loop message.
    Is it a problem ?
And i can ear the Internal HD run always.
Thanks on advice for any help
    Ale

I just went through a bunch of research on this on my own iMac G5. (BTW - do you have an iMac G5 or an iMac Intel Core Duo? It can't be both)
It comes down to the items that the SystemUIServer is trying to call. if you look at <homefolder>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist and open it with TextEdit, you'll see that, among other things, it references 8 menuExtras -
    Battery.menu
    Displays.menu
    TimeMachine.menu
    Bluetooth.menu
    AirPort.menu
    Volume.menu
    Clock.menu
    User.menu
While logged in as an administrative user, I launched System Preferences, Activity Monitor, and the Console looking at *+All Messages+*. I got the same ACInterfaceGetPower() error every 5 seconds, too. So I went through the Preferences and deactivated each menu item above, but the messages continued to appear.
I had two items that might have been causing a problem. The first was the fact that I had the AirPort signal showing up in the menu bar, even though the Network location I have set up does not have AirPort as an available service. I added the Airport service back in, disabled the menu icon, removed the AirPort service again, and Applied the changes. I'm pretty sure the error message was still appearing at this point.
The big change came when I opened up Accounts. First, I went to the Login Items section for my current user. I noticed that the EyeTV Helper and an Adobe process were both there along with the iTunes Helper process. I removed the first two using the "-" at the bottom. That actually appeared to fix it, but I proceeded to the Login Options section and disabled *Fast User Switching*. That removes the users from the menu bar. By this time the only thing left in the menu bar was the Spotlight icon.
Switching over to Activity Monitor, I killed the SystemUIServer process. It restarted and the ACInterfaceGetPower() messages did not reappear. I then re-activated each item, one at a time, killing the SystemUiServer after each activation. Again, the messages did not appear. I did not re-activate Bluetooth or AirPort, since I do not need them.
I am no longer getting those messages and the system appears to be running fine right now.
I have an external monitor attached to the iMac G5 as well as 4 FireWire hard drives. I am connected to the outside world via FiOS and I have a 100 Mb CAT-5 connection to that router.

the TWAIN driver comes from the Kodak printer software...likely the one listed below

I should also mention that clearing the CUPS cache seems to restore sleep when I get this issue
I suspect that your printer is being polled by the software, waking up the computer or preventing it from sleeping.
Is your printer/scanner on when these sleep episodes occur?
