Console Upgrade Pre-requisites : Upgrading From SP1 to R2

So the upgrade from Service Manager 2012 SP1 to Service Manager 2012 R2 requires that a minimum of CU2 be applied.  I'm trying to find some info to indicate if that per-requisite is also required for the upgrade of the consoles.  Anyone?

there shouldn't be any special requirements for the console, since the console has no cached data.
I would, however, recommend removing the console and installing the new version, if you have that option, incase the upgrade fails to remove unused DLLs.

  • Proxy upgrade from SP1 to SP5 doesn't work anymore for virus scanning.

Upgraded from SP1 to SP5 and the virus scanning updates no longer work. No changes have been made it is a complete carbon copy using the migrate button. No ip addresses have been altered nor has the ports been changed. I've tried SP2, 3 & 4 and they too fail with a 504 error log. I turned SP1 back on and it works first time.
If you can solve this I'll be so impressed because its driving me crazy. I've checked all config files and everything is as it should be.

    Hi
This thread was interesting as I have many customer sites using virus scanning without any problems together with this proxy.. Some sites are really huge as well.
Can the author of this thread explain how the scanning that now refuse to work is done with the proxyserver... Through an API or as forwarded requests to another scanning proxy (trend micro etc.) or what ? Maybe this is done in some way I am not aware of. Then I am really interested in your problem.
We mostly use it "user->proxy->vscanner->site" where the proxy and the scanner often run at the same host. This in huge installations together with load balancers infront and behind.

  • Issues to be aware of when upgrading from SP1 to SP7

    Dear All,
We are planning to upgrade from SP1 to SP7 of Microsoft version of SAP BPC.
Are there any major pitfalls that we should be aware of with this upgrade?
    Is SP7 a stable release?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

RE:  SP5 - I have been running SP5 since November.  Overall it has worked well with two exceptions:  It is not compatible with Japanese Windows (Fixed in SP6 onward, by enabling use of a new XceedZip version 6.5).  I have a manual workaround for this which works for infrequent dimension refreshes and a low number of Japanese users to support.  Also the SendGovernor fails to restart after just about every reboot (Resolved with an SSIS package that checks the status of the SendGovernor, and restarts it if it is turned off).
I am looking to SP7 so would like to hear others comments as well.

  • IBCM not working after SCCM 2012 R2 Upgrade from SP1

Just upgraded to CM2012 R2 from SP1, 1 primary site and 1 internet facing MP for IBCM in DMZ - both are on Server 2008 R2.  PKI has already been setup and was functional before upgrade.  After R2 upgrade, my internet clients cannot
communicate. CcmMessaging.log on the client states: "Post to https ibcmsiteserver,domain,com/ccm_system/request failed with 0x87d00231".  LocationServices.log shows: "LSUpdateInternetManagementPoints: Failed to retrieve internet
MPs from MP ibcmsiteserver, domain, com with error 0x87d00231, retaining previous list"
(Had to edit the links to allow post)
Has anyone run into this before and how do I resolve it?  Thanks,

CRL checking setting was enabled, not sure if this was enabled before the upgrade or not.  Once I disabled CRL checking, the internet client still wouldn't communicate until it was connected to the domain network and received the new policy settings
    (I assume).
Now, the question is how do I update the rest of my internet clients without them connecting to the domain network?  (VPN is not an option)
    Thank you for the help!!

    Team Portal -
I just upgraded my application from Sp1 to Sp2 (basically right click on application
and select Install -> Update Portal Libraries).
Do I need to do anything to the domain, or just rebuild and redeploy the ear file?
    Thanks

I didn't do anything to the domain, but I did "install portal" and "install
    weblibs" too.
I first did only the update too I think, work perfectly till I made a simple
jsr-168 portlet with the wlw wizard that didn't work.
Thank you for any and all help,

  • CM12 upgrade from SP1 to R2 to CU4

I am in the progress of upgrading SCCM 2012 to R2, we have successfully upgraded half the SP1 secondary sites to R2
Can we upgrade the primary now to CU4 while still having SP1 Secondary sites out there?
Will I be able to upgrade SP1 secondary directly to CU4 or should I complete the full upgrade to R2 across the board prior to CU4, including the client machines?

Upgrading SCCM 2012 SP1 to R2 and have one secondary site server hung. Looking at the Secondary Site Installation Status - it is still sitting at "Register secondary site server controls", and has not progressed since March 27
I cannot see anything within the logs to indicate a possible issue
Is there a way to get this moving and not have to delete the site and dB?

  • Upgrading from SP1 to SP2 not possible?

    Hi,
when installing CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.exe (Crystal Reports 2008) and after that CRRuntime_12_2_mlb.exe, there is an error message like "A different version of this product is already installed...cannot continue...." (translated from German). Why is that? Isn't it possible to upgrade?
    Regards,
    Florian
Edited by: floele on Aug 13, 2009 1:55 PM

It should be possible. Unfortunately, my testing indicates the following:
If you try to install CRRuntime_12_2_mlb.exe over CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.exe, you get the error.
Trying to update the runtime using the CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.msi results in the same error.
Same error is produced trying to update runtime installed by CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.msi and trying to update that with CRRuntime_12_2_mlb.msi.
    Possible workarounds:
    1) Preliminary test indicates that if you create your own setup project (setup.exe) or msi, the issue goes away.
    2) Uninstall the runtime from the CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.* and do a new install using CRRuntime_12_2_mlb.*
This issue will be tracked with R&D for a resolution. I will update this thread once I have the tracking number.

  • Trouble doing a database upgrade test for SCCM upgrade from SP1 to SP2

I'm trying to do this test and am having trouble.  I'm following the instructions in
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693648.aspx.  However when I enter the command at a command prompt: setup /testdbupgrade e:\database test\sms_hlb_new I get the message: The setup command line option is not valid on this computer.
Any help anyone can provide to get around this problem would be appreciated.  I'm not a SQL admin and haven't done an SCCM upgrade before so any tips for a newbie would be great.  Thanks!

The procedures are basically the same. You can even attach a copy of the database where ConfigMgr is runnig on (be careful to not /testupgrade the wrong one then). You cannot provide a command line parameter to point to a remote SQL server, but you can
start setup.exe on any machine (so local to the SQL where the copy of the DP is)Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

    Hello,
we are trying to update our SCCM hierarchy from SCCM2012 SP1 CU3 to R2. During the precheck run, we receive the following message:
    Share Name in Package (Warning)
Software Updates Points in NLB Configuration (Failed)
    Migration active source hierarchy (Failed).
Currently ther is no SUP NLB in place. We have changed the User rights to solving the Software Updates Point failure, but this was not helpful. Do you have expericence with this error and how you fix it.

  • Upgrading from SP1 to SP3, Exchange 2007

    Hi,
I am preparing for an Exchange 2007 staged migration to Office 365.  After email migration is complete I will be taking my Exchange server offline.  I am presently running Exchange 2007 SP1.  I need to download and apply Service Pack
3 before I begin migrating.  Thus far I have been unable to find a download for SP3 only.  I am aware that I can download the full version of Exchange 2007 SP3 but I am looking for SP3 only.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on my experience , every Exchange update package includes the whole Exchange server. And when we install the package, it will automatically check and install the updated features. And you can refer to the above articles that others have provided.

  • Please help: Application doesn't work after upgrade to Workshop 8 sp2 from sp1

    Hi,
Our application worked on workshop 8 sp1. After we upgrade system from sp1 to
sp2, some of the part doesn't work propertly any more.
    1. netui:select seems not bind form data propertly. For drop down list box in
forms, although user has chosen something from the drop down list box, the returned
value in the form is always null.
    2. we use Java script window.open(url,...) to download and view files. After upgrade
from sp1 to sp2, clients keep getting IE error complaining that "Internet Explore
can not open this Internet site. The request site is either unavailable or can
not be found. Please try again later", although the server and the files are all
    in local host server.
    Please help. Thanks

Did you update your workshop application files and recompile your application?
A few things changed between GA and sp2, some annotations were renamed, and some
    were added.
If you open up your application in Workshop sp2, it should given you the option
    to upgrade your application.
Failing that, you may need to go through the code that is not performing as it
was before and check whether it was not utilising a bug that was fixed in sp2
and thus causes it to not function correctly now.

  • Pre-Requisites for E_HANAAW142- SAP Certified Development Specialist - ABAP for SAP HANA (Edition 2014)

    Hello,
Can you please provide clarification regarding the pre-requisite certification/s required for the certification-E_HANAAW142- SAP Certified Development Specialist - ABAP for SAP HANA (Edition 2014). The following is the pre-requisites' description from the offical webpage of E_HANAAW142 certification.
This certification is issued to candidates who successfully pass the certification exam for the "SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP with SAP NetWeaver" (C_TAW12_70, C_TAW12_71, C_TAW12_731, P_ABAP_70).

    Question:
Are all the four certifications(C_TAW12_70, C_TAW12_71, C_TAW12_731, P_ABAP_70) need to be passed prior to taking up E_HANAAW142?
Or Any one of the four pre-requisite certifications is enough?

  • Upgraded to R2 CU3 from SP1 CU4, cannot update consoles with provided package

It appears that I cannot install the Console upgrades... gives error 1642.
The version we have installed is an x86 version.
    Any Ideas?

I would suggest you completely remove the SP1 CU4 Console version and install the R2 Console version (located on your SCCM server at %DriveLetter%\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration) Manager\tools\ConsoleSetup
Then apply the CU3 Console MSP file either via the package that the CU creates for you or directly by copying it from \\%YOURSERVER%\SMS_XXX\hotfix\KBXXXXXXX\AdminConsole\i386 and executing.

  • Pre-requisites for upgrading exchange server 2007 to 2013(Multiple domain, single forest scenario)

    Hi,
We have a forest with multiple Domains in it. Each domain has exchange servers installed in it. & All are installed in Single EXCAHNGE Organization.
One of the domain from the same respective forest has decided to upgrade their exchange server from 2007 to 2013.
So my basic query is, do we require to upgrade the service pack on all exchange servers(which is a pre-requisite) in the organisation forest wide or can we just upgrade the service pack on the exchange server in that specific Domain where this activity is
    planned ?
As my organization has around 30 Exchange servers running across 10 Geo locations and are running exchange 2007 Sp1 & exchange 2010 SP1, So immediately installation of service pack in all servers would require additional time and approvals.
Is this possible to just upgrade exchange servers of My domain with latest service pack and install exchange 2013 in domain ????

    Hi,
You will not be able to install Exchange 2013, until all of the Exchange Servers in your ORG has been brought up to a supported level.
In other words, your servers should be at:
    * Exchange 2010 SP3 + RU5
    * Exchange 2007 SP3 + RU13
So No, upgrading the servers only in Y"OUR" domain is not enough.
